The Host Name: Roshan Gender: Seme (male) Age: ??? Species: Asura
Hair color, length, and style: Blue-silver, frames his face, disheveled Weight and height: Nearly seven feet, 200 lbs. Type of body: Tall and muscular, athletic. Skin tone: Jet black, flecked with fiery reds, neon blues and golds. The palms and soles of his feet are also blue.
Personality: Arrogant and cocky, Roshan is used to being worshiped as a god and all but demands such respect. He can be very childish, particularly if he thinks he's being pushed into things. Stubborn and petulant are also adequate descriptions, though Roshan is usually more bark than bite. He is not prone to violence unless it is absolutely necessary--and when that line is breached, he becomes a ferocious opponent.
Though he's prone to laziness, new things often attract his curiosity, though his newfound interest can be easily lost if they fail to entertain him. He's very cat-like in that regard.
Likes: Himself, power, high-ranking status, controlling situations, curiosities. Dislikes: Taking orders, being bored, dull situations and people.
Abilities:
Opal Armor - Roshan can wear his Chi on his skin. When he uses this power, molten colors ooze from his skin and hardens in organic patterns, covering his skin like opal threaded through base stone. The result is fantasy armor. It doesn’t necessarily cover him, but sweeps asymmetrical around limb and torso. The resulting design is different every time. The armor doesn’t appear to offer much physical protection, and it doesn’t. The jewel-like Chi is fragile as real opal, and it shatters into rainbow crystal dust where it is struck by a weapon. Roshan takes no more or less damage from such a blow than if the Opal Armor were not there. The shattered crystals cannot hurt him, since they are his own Chi.
The Opal Armor does protect him from Chi, however. It diffracts any other Chi that hits it, sending it harmlessly away from him. It prevents him from suffering harm from Chi based attacks, and it also prevents him from benefiting from benign powers. When the Opal Armor is complete, no Chi can affect him.
The Opal Armor begins complete (even if the design looks skimpy), and it is only diminished by physical damage. Roshan can only summon it once a day, so if there is damage to it, he cannot repair it. As the armor is damaged, so its protection wanes. If the armor is half gone, then he is half affected by the powers of other Chi. The armor can take up to ten solid blows before it is entirely gone.
Roshan can reabsorb the armor, dismissing it at any time. But he cannot summon it again that day, and he must rest before he can summon it again. Manifesting the Opal Armor does not tire Roshan, nor does losing it, other than the physical damage he takes from the blows. It is a set expenditure, one he cannot exhaust himself on. He can wear it indefinitely so long as it isn’t damaged.
Chameleon - Opal is liquid and solid, porous, changeable under the light. In similar fashion, Roshan’s Chi is able to absorb the Chi of others and take on their characteristics. There are two ways he can absorb another’s Chi in order to Chameleon his own. The first is physical touch (ok, he’s Rogue from X-Men). If he touches someone, skin to skin, his Chi will change. A brief touch will enable him to use their lesser powers. Prolonged touch enables him to use their stronger powers.
The second means of absorbing another’s Chi is to suffer the effects of their power. If Roshan were hit full blast by a fireball cast at him by another seme, he would then be able to cast fireballs…provided that he was still conscious and able to function after suffering the damage of the attack. Some powers do not act directly on another person, and he cannot absorb them this way.
Spells that act directly on him have the same effect as the power of another Asura, his Chi will take on the nature of that spell, and he will be able to cast just that spell on others without any knowledge of how to cast spells. He cannot “learn” a spell by touching a spellcaster, however, because it isn’t something innate to the spellcaster’s Chi. He must suffer the effects of the spell.
This second method of using Chameleon has obvious limitations. He cannot learn a spell that kills or devastatingly drains an opponent’s Chi in this way, because in order to absorb it, he would have to suffer the full effects, and he would then be either dead or so devoid of Chi that his own Chi wouldn’t be able to use Chameleon. He would have to “learn” a power of that type by touching the owner of that power for a prolonged time.
Chameleon is involuntary. It is always active, so long as he has enough Chi to be conscious. His Chi can only reflect one power a time. If he touches an Asura with two powers, he has a fifty-fifty chance of learning either, and he cannot choose. He retains whatever power he last absorbed until he comes into contact with a new Chi. If another Asura uses a power on him, then his Chi automatically absorbs that power.
The only way he can prevent his Chi from acting as Chameleon is to manifest his Opal Armor, which prevents any Chi from acting on his own. The armor has to be completely gone, either destroyed or reabsorbed, before Chameleon will work.
Roshan instinctively knows how to use the power. It is on a subconscious level, so the results might surprise him. The power drains his Chi just as it does for the source individual. So if he absorbed Marrok’s Howl, then his power would be subject to the phases of the moon, just as Marrok’s is. Also, if his Chameleon power changes before he has rested, he cannot use the new power as if he were at full Chi. For example, if one Uke can create a light source three times a day, and another can create water three times a day. Say that Roshan touched the first Uke, and then Roshan created a light. And then Roshan touched the second Uke. He could only create water twice, not three times that day. If he absorbs a power that requires a lot of Chi, he may not be able to use it at all until after he has rested.
Roshan has always had a second power that belonged to another, not unique to him. He would have been born with one of his Seme father’s powers, and it would have changed when he first touched his Uke father, and so on.
