The dear you're actually here for!

It is the eldest child of Edana and Samuel, a role that may--or may not!--have an effect on how they are raised. Just a tid-bit to keep in mind~

Plots

As mentioned before, Leo and Kailey do have some plot ideas forming that they want to run with in this family! They come from a pretty big extended family... and we think it's about high time they all start getting some family plots running around.

Part of the form you'll be filling out will have a manditory plot/family tradition section we want you to fill out. Why? Because we want to see what you can come up with, and what you'll be willing to throw on the table with us! Consider below a sneak-peek into what you'll be getting into... along with a very important plot that could deeply affect how your basket is raised, should you opt into this plot!!!

Everything below is in brackets due to it needing to be fleshed out as members OOCly talk stuff out. But this way you've got a sneak peek of what's to come!

    xxxxxxxxxx[NAME]
xxxxx[General set-up of family presence in a specific area, re-establish family connections and more or less get a role call of who'll be in the area, etc. OOCLY, we basically figure out who's up for what, and start pinning down a family plot.]

    xxxxxxxxxxDeath in the Family
xxxxx[THIS IS WHERE YOUR BASKET WOULD BE IN BIGGEST PLAY!! Eldest foal kidnapped by Beelzebub, family assumes he's killed it. Kickstarts family feud with Beelze and his spawn... but also leads to the foal being raised by Beelzebub. Further plots as the foal is raised would be discussed after winning!]

    xxxxxxxxxx[NAME]
xxxxx[Basically establishes new family role to fight Beelze and his spawn, and also get members on BOTH sides of the fight establishes/role call. A family of knights needs something to fight, and thieves need something to steal....]

    xxxxxxxxxxRise, Young Knight
xxxxx[TRADITIONS~ Grandparents and first kidlets (so 2nd gen lot) + respective mates generally gather and more or less pow-wow over finally setting in stone some traditions that they've all been generally doing ANYWAYS.... just making things official. Ex: "Coming of Age" Ceremony, where kidlets get their armor/weapons/trinkets]

    xxxxxxxxxxReturn of the Prodigal Child
xxxxx[Adults, kidnapped foal returns... just as an adult. Family might not recognize them if Rpers desire, cause some fights/spats between them... until someone in the family recognizes them for who they are, and what's happened. OR we can just jump to the reunion! ...which might not necessarily be so joyous...]

Traditions

Family traditions, most of the below will be established through Rp due to plots above!

    xxxxxxxxxx"Coming of Age" Ceremony
xxxxx[Better name to come. Effectively, it's a series of trials the young adult foals go through to determine their proper role/place in the family, and recieve their respective armor, weaponry, and other such trinkets. ICly, they're commissioned by the family from special craftsmen after seeing the majority of the trials completed.]

....see how we kinda need more?

The Family

The family--immediate and extended--the foals have been born to. Read up to get the basics of the family members, dynamics, and some traditions! If you have further questions though, feel free to PM either Leo or Kailey.

    User Image
    Name Edana
    Role Mother
Personality A knight's sense of duty and kleptomaniac tendencies combine to make for one hell of a thief. Large and extravagant, to tiny and otherwise insignificant, she has no sense of discrimination when it comes to her targets. Only thing that matters is that burning need to obtain when something has caught her eye. The similar can be said towards her interactions towards other people, often forming a sometimes overwhelming sense of hers, and effectively sticking to them like a burr. She's not against stalking, but at least always does so with a sunny smile and cheer disposition. Though the worst to feel this aspect of her temperament is Samual, other members of her family are also "victim" to it. Never one to let her smiling facade drop, she comes off as endlessly cheery, and constantly cocky. A warning to any who catches this thief with a dark look in her eye: daddy taught his little girl well.
    Random Facts
  • Rarely seen without her weasel companion, Kione.
  • Keeps a rather large collection of trinkets, weapons, and armor stocked away. Rather against others touching them.
  • Prone to speaking with slur and slang, she comes off more as a "street rat" than a daughter of a well-bred knight.

    User Image
    Name Samual
    Role Father
Personality Quirky, happy-go-luck, and full of energy Samual is a very kind-hearted stallion with a bit of a tragic past. Still, he moves on with his life, usually preferring to spend most of his time alone until wandering into Edana. Don't let him fool you, he fell for his mate the second he laid eyes on her. He's a friendly enough stallion and easy to talk to, but can be easily distracted should something else catch his attention. He is a Knight and has trained for many things in his life, finally it's time for him to prove his worth as a family man.
    Random Facts
  • Abandoned his station and duty to his kingdom
  • Has a thing for collecting unique stones, and in general has a love for pretty things... he just has a better control over his impulses than his mate!
  • Has purposely messed hair. Don't try to fix it!

    User Image
Name Cael Boy / Caelan Girl
    Role Younger Sibling
Personality Cael has a preference for moving through the shadows as opposed to frontal assaults on their opponents. A shadowstalker to the core, the use of bribes and dirt to end up on top in a situation is preferred over combat. Though if that fails... go for the throat. Due to such preferences, their favorite pass times consist of scouting around for interesting dirt on others, searching for chinks in proverbial - and not so proverbial - armors. Careful not to cross lines amongst the family, though that doesn't stop Cael from trying to poke around in their personal business, even if it's without them knowing. If questioned, they'd happily respond the one with the most information knows how to best keep their loved ones safe.
    Random Facts
  • Will be a thief like mom, with a tendency for acting as a information broker
  • If their sibling is "killed" by Beelzebub, they will likely not believe the later "arrival" is, in fact, their elder sibling still alive.
  • The type to get particularly nasty when angered, and let grudges stew.

    User Image
Name Macklyn Boy / Alyson Girl
    Role Youngest Sibling
    Personality To come
    Random Facts
  • To come

See the Family Tree for the rest of the family! If you have questions about personalities, feel free to ask!

Prompts

While you are required to give us one tradition to add to the family, we've got some options for you in terms of prompts! Pick one, and add it below!

    Prompt 1 - The Trials
xxxxxEach foal on the cusp adulthood must go through a set of trials to prove not only their place in the family, but to show their strengths. What they encounter, what they endure, varies from individual to individual. The question is... what does your foal encounter? What do they endure? What proves to be their greatest strengths... and their greatest weaknesses? You may either choose to write this as if your foal was taken by Beelzebub, then allowed to take the trials after returning to the family as an adult OR as if they were never kidnapped, should you opt out of the plot!

    Prompt 2 - Genetics
xxxxxSo you've got two pretty different parents: a thief, and a knight. Makes for an... interesting family life. The question is, who do you take most after? Mom and her kleptomania... or dad and his sense of knightly duty? Or are you some odd mix or both? Or none of the above? Write us a scene where the foal shines in their element... whatever it may be!

    Prompt 3 - Plotfest
xxxxxAs you can see... we've only got so much thus far in terms of plots in the works! If you opt for this prompt, then you get to wow us with your ideas for what you'd like to see the family deal with! Drama, laughter, combat, shenanigans... the sky's the limit! You are welcomed to involve any of Beelzebub's brood listed above for your plots, or you can add some of your bunch to the plots if you'd like!

The Form

To enter, simply fill out the form below!

    Good luck!

Username:
Name: _____ Boy / _____ Girl
Role: [Fighter? Scholar? OTHER? In a family of knights and thieves, where does yours stand?]
Personality:

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES or NO

Tradition: [Required! We want you to come up with a new tradition for the family! Something that will be implemented in the plots we'll be going through. It should revolve around the "family of knights" aspect, and the sky's the limit beyond that! We will also need you to give us a REASON for why this tradition would be put into place!]

Name: [boy] Tasslehoff / Laurana [girl]
Role: Mixed bag of kindness

This kid will be a chip off of the ol Mactail block, obviously the bloodline flows deep and true. They will find a warm kinship with their family of knights and honorable thieves, learning the code and trade from both sides. Their tiny heart will yearn for adventure, often struck by insatiable wanderlust, which leads them to friends and stranger branches of the family. They would be as energetic as their father and as determined as their mother, they may occasionally "borrow" something, but return it shamefully as it isn't all that honorable to steal. As the eldest they will feel responsible for looking after their two younger siblings, vowing never to show fear to anyone in the face of their family, they have a warm heart and a sharp eye, always watchful, the habit as natural as breathing.
Personality: Loyal

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? AWWWW YISSS~ 8D

Tradition: The Hall of Honor. The knights and thieves, though at first a bit different have one thing in common. Family is most important, honoring ones name and lineage is a necessary thing. Every solstice the family from all corners of the map gathers to honor the fallen and to greet each other, securing friendship and ties of blood. They would bring a trinket or a tale to show or tell to the young and old alike. Honestly it would bring the family which has grown so large together and secure a familiarity and a united front against their enemies. Showing all that their armor will never be dross as long as they're together.

Prompt Response (I'll play as Tasslehoff)

Tasslehoff had run out of places to hide, his legs were shaking and his sides were heaving, taking in as much oxygen as his little lungs could hold. He peeked from behind a bush, blending in with the shadows as much as possible like was trained to do. He was fleeing from the dark things that had snatched him away from his family, all fangs and foul breath, they were great, cruel beasts and had stolen him from the ones who loved him most. He was sure they were going to kill him once they got bored with him, they were just toying with him now, letting him run as far as he could but always catching him. His little future was looking quite bleak but no matter how exhausted he was, he found himself intensely relieved they hadn't gotten a hold of his two younger siblings. He was the oldest, he could handle this, he would protect them, that's what big brothers did. His brown eyes glittered with determination, he would survive this, no matter what he had to do or suffer through. His captors amused themselves by playing with him as a cat plays with a mouse, letting him go knowing they could find him in their domain without a thought. He liked adventure, but not this kind, never this kind. They lived in a dank place with sagging foliage and dirty water, he was sure half of them ate...meat. He gulped, trying not to think about it. One, he assumed their leader spoke to him, assuring him that if he made it far enough on his own without being captured they would let him leave and go back to his family. But if he got caught this final time he would have to stay with them, be their errand boy and learn THEIR ways. If he tried to escape after that, he would threaten the very lives of his siblings.

His heart beat frantically in his chest like a trapped bird, wings beating against his ribcage. He was sure it would give his position away, he held his breath for as long as he dared as a particularly shady member of the group slid by the bush he was hiding behind. He weighed his options, options one so young should never have to make. the knight side of him urged to stand up and face his captors, come out of hiding and put all aside to save his family and his siblings. After all, they had not offered him harm, for some reason they wanted him to join them...in some sick manner. The other side, the shadow loving thief ushered him to take their challenge, flee as far and as fast as you could! It was almost a challenge! Even if they were bigger and knew the layout of the land, you could make it! Come back with your family and vanquish the monsters.

Tas shook with his decision, tears stung his eyes as he made his choice. He stood up slowly and with his ears forward and his tail straight, he marched out from the shadow of the bush, standing still and trembling as the dark things took notice and surrounded him. The leader sneered down at his prize, what a joy it would be to break the son of so noble a family, he had all the time in the world to see what his experiment would yield in the future. " So you let us find you anyway young one? Plucky, very plucky. Come, You are now ours little one." He fairly spat the name " We'll name you something more...appropriate." He sneered as he led him away " Say goodbye to the life you knew." Tas set his jaw and closed his eyes, he would remain silent until he could no more, his words were too good for these sorts, he would survive, there would always be other opportunities, he would grow strong, and someday. He would escape. He was assured that his family would not be harmed, for the only thing that would keep him going for his servitude would be that. Family was the most important thing.

( Holy s**t I wrote a novel .__. sorry, I got excited...lawlz )

* Surviving Beelzebubs service and making it back to the family would be seen as a trial itself I think. They prove themselves untainted by the evil of Beelz's brood and come back into the fold of the family, slightly skewed, but more or less the same soul who had gone missing all that time ago.

[I have the unique opportunity of being already tied to this family and the future plots and i'm so happy to see more branches sprouting on this tree, thank you for the chance!]

Username: dawns_aura
Name: Afaer "Maggot" Boy / Aylene "Weasel" Girl
Role: Catalyst of conflict, thorn/poison in the family's midst, the unhealed wound
Personality:
The temper to go on the cert will read either conflicted or twisted (uncertain which is more appropriate)

Had (s)he been raised by his(her) family, they would have had a sense of morality and honor that would have been a credit to the family line. Neither a knight nor a thief but a unique combination of both. They would have been a guardian for hire or in the 'acquisitions' business. But that was not to be.

Abducted by Beelzebub while still in the basket, they never knew the love and kindness, the closeness of family and blood. The bright future that could have been their's was stolen away before they even had a chance.

Beelze was at best indifferent to the young foal, more interested in the pain and devastion it's loss would inflict on the family. He was cold and cruel, depriving the foal of the nurture it would need to grow up in any healthy manner. They learned early on to survive, no matter what the cost.

As a young teen or adult they would manage to escape the range and influence of Beelzebub and find their family. They will be scarred and twisted, not recognizeable except for the pull of blood. Wounded in mind and soul.

Quirks
-Has difficulty remembering the name which was given by their parents, so they answer better to the name from Beelze (either 'Maggot' or 'Weasel', depending upon gender)
-Has extreme sense of unease around new folk and/or groups and has a tendency to lash out physically.
- Has knowledge of what is right and wrong, but is disassociative to these concepts in own life.
-Easily provoked.
-Refers to self in third person ('Maggot' does not like this… where are you taking 'Maggot'? etc.)

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES!!!

Tradition:
Family Acceptance-
Why and for whom: For those not born into the family (adoption), or those who cannot be a part of the family until they reach a certain age (abduction or choice between families if they come from a union of different family lines and need to choose).
What: To be a true part of the family, the mare or stallion needs to know the traditions and history of the family, so they are assigned a cousin or aunt or uncle - any adult from the line- to act as an advisor, mentor, teacher. Once they are deemed ready, they undergo a series of trials similar to the coming of age ceremony to prove that they are worthy of being a part of the family.

Prompt Response using the first prompt-Each foal on the cusp adulthood must go through a set of trials to prove not only their place in the family, but to show their strengths.
* for the sake of this prompt response, I will be using the masculine name and pronoun. Also given personality and state of mind, I will be using the name Maggot as opposed to Afaer.

Maggot sighed as he looked up at the full moon. Tomorrow was to be a big day. He was going to get the chance to prove once and for all that he was a member of the family, that he belonged here. He would take the Trials. He did not know what that would entail. The word trials brought to mind physical pursuits, which he was particularly unsuited for. And he fretted.

He supposed he ought to remember he wasn't Maggot, he was Afaer, the oldest son of Samual and Edana and he was part of a long proud heritage of knights. He belonged here. There was a snort in his mind that sounded much like the cruel stallion that had stolen him from this. ~You think a Maggot like you actually belongs here. You are worthless. …~

He paced. Perhaps he wasn't ready. Perhaps this was all just a mistake. He was after all Maggot. Muddy brown eyes took in the sight of his family. Siblings, parents. They were there. He wasn't alone. He didn't have to fight to survive and find a reason for his existence. There was an unusual light feeling within his heart. Perhaps this was what it meant to have a family. He saw Samual and Edana… no mom and dad. He wanted nothing more than to belong. Then he saw the sleeping form of his middle sibling, and all his doubts resurfaced.

He wasn't sure if he could do this. Or even if it would be best to do so. This wasn't right. Did he truly belong here, as a part of this family? He did not know. Tomorrow would prove whether or not this was meant to be, and if he could reclaim the destiny that Beelzebub had so cruelly stolen from him.

Tomorrow would show whether he was Maggot or Afaer.

Username: Tirokio
Name: Edlun Boy / Meridah Girl
Role: Tactical Sargent - turned "Black Knight"
Personality:

Being the oldest in such a core family of knights and thieves made the eldest sibling grow into a leadership role right from the get go. You could call it the 'ringleader' type role, but tactics was the name of the game. Possible scenarios, outcomes, plans of attacks, best formations to succeed at hide and seek....from play to seriousness the eldest was always thinking strategy.

Once kidnapped though the eldest's spirit will slowly deteriorate over time with the Beelz clan. After a long fight to keep morale and the drive to return home a forced surrender is in order; and the Sargent gets "demoted" to but a private - a pawn for the opposing clan. This comes to play "The Black Knight" in which Beelz could sent the eldest back to the clan as a weapon/trickery till the eldest can find his true self again and finally be reunited body, mind and soul with his family.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? OMGWTFBBQSQUEE....why yes. Yes I would. <3

Tradition: Squiring!!!! All foals must undergo a period where they are paired off with an adult of their craft (ie, younger sibling with shadowstalker interests might Squire to Momma Edana) for a period of time. Once they IC'ly reach adulthood they can be entered into the coming of age to earn their Knighthood! It would be the beginning stage before the coming of age - which would be more equivalent to "graduation" with prior schooling and knowledge. This could be grand scaled in the sense that the whole family can come for a fair/festival of sorts so a bunch of foals/young adults can begin their stages in life be it into Squiring or Coming of Age. (Also could give light to any other distance families with dancing, singing, feasts etc if they are not knights.)

Prompt Response #3 - using Male

"There they are..." Beelzebub sneered, watching his mortal enemies walk along a forested trail conversing with themselves. It made him sick to be so close...but this time...this time his plan was perfect.

"I see them..." The monotonous tone of another rose up, stepping beside Beelzebub as his own eyes were trained on the four walking leisurely to an unknown destination. "Are these the ones you will have me infiltrate?" There was no recognition, no pull of his heart towards these strangers...what he'd been told for years was they were part of a horrible clan of knights who endangered Beelzebub and his family's life. There was a mental sense of loathing, not on his own behalf...but for what he'd been ingrained. If it wasn't for them, he'd not have to be here right now; preparing to weasel his way into their family unit. Their secrets would be his....and by his, he meant Beelzebub.

"Yes, they are the target. Do you remember your story?" The schemer smirked, watching his little peon frown in thought.

"I do. I am the Prodigal Child....I will make them trust me and find their weakness." A small smirk crossed his lips, looking back to his master. "Will I pass as one of them?" Little did he remember in the locked recesses of his mind, something he had to do to get through the days as a captive of the harsh stallion beside him. As far as he was told and could remember thanks to the constant feeding of false information from Beelz; the family had a basket which was whisked away and killed....so it would be perfect for someone who looked just enough like them to pretend to be their lost child.

"You will be fine. You resemble them just enough....Do this and you will be a hero amongst our family..." The sinister stallion assured to his young peon, earning but a sage nod from the dark stallion as he pressed through the forest bushes to get to the close knitted family. Beelz had made his quick exit back to the rest of his clan; as Edlun, approached his family. Once they were alerted they were being followed; they turned around and laid eyes on the peculiar young stallion; but before he could say a word something clicked in Edana.

That overwhelming sense was nagging at her.....but no, it couldn't be true.

Her child had died. Yet still....it wasn't something she couldn't ignore that she felt this stallion before her...

...was hers.

"....Edlun?" She breathed, earning a bit of a shocked look from the rest of her family.

"....I'm home...Mother." Edlun grinned, although it appeared more of a smile thanks to the lopsided curl of his lips. Yes....this was going to work nicely in his favor.

Username: Mameha Otome
Name: Cecil Boy / Cecily Girl
Role: I'm thinking...as scholarly and protective as one can get, with an obsession for sparkly and/or old and antiqued items. It would be like a connection was always there with their family, despite having been taken as a basket/at a very young age.

They would finally be able to escape as adult, having been stuck as a nameless entity among Beelzebub. S/he would then get as far away as possible, thinking for a long time about how to find their real family. After a long time traveling, meeting others that help them understand not everyone is horrible and cruel.

In the end they'd come across their family, of course not really knowing who they are and vice versa. A lot of time spent among them would bring about a discovery for both sides. S/he would then want to be nothing but accepted by their parents and siblings and do anything to protect them and future foals from suffering the same fate.

Did I mention they love shiny objects?

Personality: ^ See above? Very protective as an adult, wanting to learn everything about being a proper knight/guardian to the family.

Temper - ....I'll think of something and edit it in.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? Yesyesyes!

Tradition: Protection for all

Any lost basket or foal found, regardless of whether they find their real family again or not, is to be raised and protected within the family and herd. The same goes for foals born into the family. Baskets and foals are under constant watch either from one or both of their parents, or assigned a proper knight to act as guardian until they are old enough to enter training and find their place.

Prompt Response Uhh...number 2... (probably gonna RP as the female name though)

Cecily lay in the grass and sun, thinking about her family since having been reunited with them. She was glad to be among someone who loved and cared for her. She smiled as she thought about her parents. Despite still getting to know them, she felt confident in trusting that she really was a part of them.

Her father was so proud...so brave and strong. At least in her mind. Though she did love his happy, light-hearted side as well. However, it was his knightly side that she felt brought out the most in her.

Especially after the ordeal she had been through growing up without them.

Cecily felt an inward need to provide protection and love to everyone, especially those too young to defend themselves. Her own coming of age test would be coming soon and she had to prove herself to finally earn what she wanted to be. The young mare felt she'd be able to stand up to whatever was thrown her way. Once she completed it, Cecily planned to go out of her way to find young ones in need of a family, help, anything...and bring them home to absolute protection.

A glint in the sunlight caught her eye, pulling her out of her thoughts. She grinned brightly and got up to go investigate the item in question. A gold bell...attached to a scarf.

"Hmm...they have quite a few bells...I'm sure they won't miss one." The young mare mumbled to herself, leaning down and breaking it free before bolting back to their family's home.

She could still be a knight and enjoy the occasional sparkly. No one could fault her for that.

Username: Nyx Queen of Darkness
Name: James (Jem for short) Boy / Tesla [like Tesla coil](Tessa for short/nickname)Girl
Role: Morally Conflicted Usurper
Personality:

Raised by Beelzebub, Tessa is conflicted. She has been raised as a weapon ready to strike and kill the mother who sold her for a trinket (or so is the story she's been told). However, her sense of honour so deeply ingrained in her by rights of her birth and by Beelzebub to create the ultimate weapon, leave her questioning what should be done.

Her allegiance as a knight is to the one who raised her kindly as a daughter (though we know it to be a ruse), but she remembers her mothers soft, kind voice and begins to wonder how her mother could have done this to her. But also, her allegiance is tied to her father Samuel who did her no wrong.

Her mind is torn, trying to figure out what is right and just. Whose side should she be on? Samuel's or Beelzebub's? And what does that leave as to the fate of her mother?

Tessa will be torn. Her honour and duty split between the one who raised her and the father who hadn't wronged her, and believed her dead because of her mother's trickery. She will push her mother away, but try to make amends with her father--try to make him see past his love at what his mate is. She doesn't wish to lose him now that she's gained him.

Her high sense of honour has also made her despite thievery, even though she itches to steal things herself. It's the curse of her mother, another reason to hate her.

Ultimately, she will be forced to decide which father to trust and if love has blinded Samuel to Edana or love has blinded her to Beelzebub who raised her kindly.

Will she realize that she was raised soley as a weapon to bring her family down, before it's too late?

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES

Tradition: When a knight comes of age, a goblet shall be brought forth and it shall be given three drops of blood--one for honour, one for bravery, and one for family. It will be combined in a vial with the blood of all the ancestors before, so that they may always have ties to them. It is symbolic in nature, representing that one will live for the honour of it's family, and die for it.

Prompt Response

Tessa stood before the clan, a bit off guard. She could hear them whispering, talking about what to do with her, as if she was some object to be possessed and owned. She’d had enough of being owned—her father, Beelzebub had done that enough.

He had made clear to her the purpose of her life. She had been given by her dear mother Edana to Beelzebub as payment for some service he had rendered, some trinket that her filthy little hooves needed and couldn’t steal. She had been weak enough to barter her first-born child for it, and then convinced the entire family that they child had been killed and stolen by Beelzebub.

But what didn’t steal from a thief, did they? How could anyone believe her mother’s idiotic story? And yet, as she watched the mare speaking to her mate, Tessa’s father, she remembered the voice whispering over her basket kind and alluring. It was like freshly, fallen snow or the like sunlight after a drab day—the words she couldn’t remember, but their tone was soothing and tranquil.

They had to be lies though, Beelzebub had never lied to her. He had treated her as one of his own, as his very own. He had raised her for this—to infiltrate the family. She as to give them some sappy story of having been raised by Beelzebub and beaten, but not submitting to his will or ways. The scars on her back would bear testament to it, they would show that she was not a liar…

They would believe her when she said that she escaped, that she’d come to find her real family—a pack of knights and thieves. It was her mother’s fault after all that her mouth itched to take what wasn’t hers, but perhaps it was both of her father’s that had instilled in her the knightly code.

Beelzebub had raised her, saved her from her mother’s kleptomaniac ways. He had said that her father had merely been weak in loving her mother—he was a knight. Beelzebub had raised her in his own way of twisted knighthood and chivalry, but she wandered how much her father, her true one weighed into that.

When it came to honour what did one do?

She could feel that itch in her mouth, the ache to take something and covet it that she had not given into for years. She had been raised a knight, she was to avenge what had happened to her—her mother selling her to Beelzebub who had been kind to her and told her the story.

But being here…seeing her, swayed her mind a little and made her second guess what she had known. She was a knight, and so was Samual. How much allegiance should she have to him? Where exactly did her honour fall?

For the first time in her life, Tessa questioned her goals. Whose family honour was she to uphold? Samuel had done nothing to her. Beelzebub had raised her as his own with kindness and some sort of affection….For the first time, she wondered if it was the knightly thing to kill her mother, Edana.

Username: Junglerunner
Name: Dubhán Boy / Gwencalon Girl [x]
Role: A Knight.
Personality: I shall predominately refer to the foal as the male, for ease.

Male: Dubhán takes little from his mother personality wise, if anything at all, and the same goes for his father, though he could be more likened to him than his mother. From the moment he emerges from his basket he knows of his families strong sense of honour and duty, and the code of the knight. He is the eldest of his siblings and takes this responsibly seriously when trying to prove his worth within the family for his parents sake, he desires nothing more than to see them proud of him. He becomes a page at a young age for Arthur, his uncle, and a knight he wishes to emulate.

He will always struggle with the concept of his mother being titled as a 'thief', he doesn't see any honour in the role nor a great deal of purpose. Because of this and the path Cael/Caelan seems to be heading down he is in constant sibling rivalry with him/her, what is more the idea of snooping around gathering information to sell on at a price seems totally immoral to Dubhán. After a fight with Cael/Caelan they hastily relay some of their precious information to try and upset Dubhán, which of course it does. Cael/Caelan has discovered that their father abandoned his post in his old herd, potentially leaving vulnerable Soquili to defend themselves against their foes. This is against all beliefs a knight should hold to and Dubhán questions his fathers honour.

Before he has chance to speak to his father however Beelze and his spawn attack the family, stealing away with Dubhán. This doesn't change Dubhán's personality at all, but it does alter his views and opinions on his family for a time.

Female: Generally speaking Gwen is no different than Dubhán in character, however she has a little of her mother's spark. There's something about becoming a knight that always seems terribly masculine, but Gwen has her mothers spunk to be able to prove to everyone within the family that she is worthy of such a title.

Plot ideas:

● I can imagine the war/feud brewing between Beelze's spawn and the McCallen clan after the attack. Little skirmish battles etc, which will aid in the development of roles within the family, as you say knights need something to fight and thief’s need something to steal. I picture after several months of testing skirmishes the McCallen clan lead an all out attack on Beelze, it is then Dubhán is stolen back from Beezle. His return though is not generally welcomed by all however.

● Beelze of course loves his philosophical debates, and having foal napped Dubhán not long after he found out of his fathers history, the distressed Dubhán blurts out his concerns about his fathers honour to Beelze. Beelze of course uses this to twist Dubhán's perception on his family, his mother is a thief and his father is a deserter. Beelze nurtures the malcontent in Dubhán, getting him to question all his former beliefs.

● Upon his return Dubhán takes up the position as squire for Arthur, he is of course behind all the other squires of his age. Dubhán also confronts his father, and questions why the knight abandoned his post. Also now both adults, the rivalry between him and Cael/Caelan becomes heated and dangerous.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? Yes.

Tradition: "Protect the weak, defenseless, helpless, and fight for the general welfare of all."

The role of the page: Family links are key, an adopted foal into the family my be singled out to become a page but it's rare. Due to Edana, the role of a thief is a unique position within the family though traditionally most foals born into the family start their path as a page. They are placed in the care of one of the adults, knights, within the family whom they serve as their personal servant; running errands, messages, small tasks etc. In return the knight will personally train the foal in battle, physically and tactically.

Progression to a Squire: The foal enters adolescence and evolves into becoming a squire to the knight they served as a page for. They take on more responsibilities as a squire, they take care of the knights armour, shield, sword etc, aid in dressing the knight in their armour, protecting the knight if needed, ensuring the knights armour and weapons are in good order. A knight would also take his or her squire into battle, this would be where the squire could then prove themselves.

The Accolade: It would be the head of the family/herd to dub the squire as a knight and also only them that could bestow this honour to a squire after accessing them on the battle field. After they have been dubbed as a knight all ties to the knight they have trained under are vanquished, and after a year they too will take on their own page.

Prompt Response Prompt 3.

Babd Catha hung lazily in the air, she surveyed the lay of the land below, her red glowing eyes searching. Generally she like to perch in a tree, but finding a branch which could bare the weight of a full grown hippogryph mare was a rare thing, so reluctantly she dropped to a high vantage point upon the ground. Battle was brewing, she could sense the charge in the air, besides the fact she knew from Arthur the McCallan clan was going to attack Beelze and his spawn in a final push to steal back Dubhán, the lost son of Edana and Samuel. Ever since Arthur had lost his squire Badb had began losing interest in Arthur, it showed a weakness to allow someone to steal something of theirs, and the only way Arthur could prove himself to Badb now was to win back his squire and prove himself in battle. Besides that though, Badb couldn't resist a battle, who knows, she might even spy her next champion.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Edana was no knight, but that didn't mean she couldn't fight when she needed to, she was her father's daughter after all. The knights were pushing Beelze's spawn back and the tide seemed to be changing, Edana cast her eyes over the battlefield until they fell upon her eldest son, her heart leapt, she knew Cael had gained information that Dubhán was still alive but she couldn't help but doubt it a little until she saw him with her own eyes; Dubhán of course her eldest son and looking so much like his father and the epitome of the honourable knight, he was one of the greatest of her treasures and she wanted him back. Seeing her chance she charged across the expanse between them and then with little time for anything else she pants, 'Quick Dubhán follow me!'

Beelze had hung back for most of the fighting, keeping Dubhán behind him, guarding him from his family. Dubhán knew their was no loyalty in Beelze, Dubhán was a commodity, a simply toy to aggravate his family for Beezle's personal entertainment, nothing else and the longer he was in Beelze's possession the longer Beezle could entertain himself and provide his spawn with victims to torment. But the tide of the battle was changing and his spawn was weakening against the larger number of the McCallan clan, it was time Beezle had to enter the fighting also. The decaying stallion stared hard at Dubhán before charging into the throng. Dubhán stared around him at the carnage and was at a lost for what to do, no longer guarded by Beelze or one of his offspring he could essentially escape. Question was would he run and start a new life of his own leaving his family to whatever fate lay in wait for them, or return and confront his father. Before he could even make a decision though a Soquili ran straight at him, red hair flaring out behind her as she cantered towards him, his mother. He stared at her, it had been months since he had seen his mother, but she'd not changed at all. It seemed fate had decided for him; without question he followed his mother back to safety on the McCallan side of the battlefield.

Username: vballlvr5
Name: CaineBoy / Lorelei Girl
Role: The Knight with a twisted sense of honor that looks out for number 1. (see personality for explanation)
Personality: *The personality for both genders will be roughly the same, but for convenience I’m going to be referring to the foal as male.
**Also my apologies for writing so much – I got really excited (so much to say!).
Caine was taken by Beelzebub while he was still in his basket, so his family assumed that he had been killed. Caine was thusly “raised” by Beelzebub. Because Caine was taken before he had even emerged from his basket he has no recollection of his parents’ faces, nor had he even received his name yet. Despite this Beelzebub was not the one that named Caine, he selected the name for himself – until that point in time Beelzebub hadn’t even addressed him using a name. He chose this name because in the first attack he took part in (he was still very young and so acted as bait rather than fighter) the eldest stallion killed in the skirmish was named Caine. He adopted this name not only as a sort of trophy from this event, but also because in the time while he, Beelzebub, and the rest of the attacking crew observed their soon-to-be-victims Caine grew attached to the elder Caine. He appeared regal and carried himself with an air of dignity that the unnamed foal had not seen in any soquili thus far, so he chose the name as a way to encourage himself to be more chivalrous than the dark figures around him.

However as he aged, he slowly forgot the second part of his reasoning behind selecting his name. He grew darker as he was raised by his captor. To an extent he developed Stockholm Syndrome. He realized that Beelzebub was not his father, and also found out that he had been stolen, but he had grown attached to the stallion that raised him. As a young foal – while the blood of his true family ran strongest as it had experienced little outside influence – he questioned the darker ways of his “guardian” but he grew into the same dark roots. Even after his return to his blood family he retains a vague allegiance to Beelzebub (see note ****).

Caine is a warrior through and through, but he does not possess the same sense of honor that his father does. He inherited some of his mother’s cockiness which resides in his fighting style. He fights “honorably,” meaning that he prefers to fight head on with his opponent well aware of (and prepared for) his presence. However, the cause of the fight usually lacks in honor. That is, his reasons to fight are hardly ever for a “greater good” or a “good” at all.

***Note: For female she will not only use brute force (she will be made up of lean muscle but still slighter than a male counterpart) but also a greater amount of cunning. She will enjoy the usage of traps – she finds it entertaining to see them walk into a meticulously planned set up.

****Note: Possible future plot here. Caine returns to his blood family, but Beelzebub briefly reenters his life and manipulates him. His retention of the allegiance could also add to the wariness of his siblings to accept him as their brother.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES all the way!

Tradition: A leaf crowning – this sounds weird but I’ll explain. Knighthood involves combat which results – at times – in death. This ceremony is meant to unite the crowned with nature so that, should he/she fall, he/she will join his ancestors in the earth and rise into the wind to provide protection to the next generation of warriors. The crown of leaves is symbolic of the connection the bearer possesses with Mother Earth. The crowned will wear the wreath for the entire day (the ceremony begins at sunrise) until dusk at which point the crown will be shed and be placed around the trunk of a sapling. The knight will then receive his/her armor in exchange.

Prompt Response
Prompt 2 - Genetics (Caine expresses his fighting ability which he inherited from his father and a bit of the cockiness from his mother - written as male)
The brisk fall wind gently shook Caine awake as he laid at the edge of a small cave. His eyes fluttered open and the barely risen sun reminded him that it was a training day. He remained down for a few moments as he pondered what fighting method he would work on that day when - THUD - Caine jumped to his feet, startled he banged his head on the cave ceiling. He carefully turned around as the stars of bright light faded and saw a large gray rock resting a mere six inches behind where his head had been. His eyes moved upward and he met the daunting gaze of Beelzebub who stood hunched over a pace behind the rock. “Always be ready,” he grumbled.

“And?” Caine questioned his intimidating master. A young adult now Caine remained wary of the large stallion that had raised him, but made an effort to exhibit the confidence that he paraded in front of any other potential opponent.

In response the older stallion roughly brushed passed Caine into the flat dirt that was seated outside the mouth of the cave and picked up a blunt stick in his mouth. Weapon day. Beelzebub used Caine as one of his henchmen, and as he aged rose in the ranks of Beelzebub’s trusted warriors. He personally trained the soquili that he kidnapped as he knew of his powerful lineage and aimed to twist it for his own usage – he did just that.

The two sparred for what seemed like hours until Caine began to feel the weight of the stick in his mouth more strongly. The branch slowed his movements and he was tempted to drop it and use solely the power of his body, but that would defeat the point of the day’s lesson. So he drudged onward. His lunges were filled with less passion. Though older, the other stallion still possessed greater strength and endurance. Beelzebub came in for a stroke and Caine’s parry faltered – the wooden stick falling from his weary mouth. Beelzebub snorted disapprovingly “Still as weak as the day I found you . . .” he said gruffly and turned to walk away. With that Caine whipped his stick back off the earthen floor and darted at the opposing stallion, knocking him on the side with the piece of wood. “Dead,” He murmured through his weapon. “You know Bee,” he called the elder stallion mockingly “you must always be ready.”

Beelzebub only chuckled sadistically and continued to walk on. This was the first occasion that Caine had “defeated” him and it had been through an attack from behind – when the enemy wasn’t watching. In that moment, just for a second, the kidnapped stallion’s honorable fighting style had dropped and that had allowed him to succeed. Perhaps that would guide him to “greater” things. Caine, too, realized this and he began to question more vehemently his place among the dark soquili.

*****I love this family so much - thank you for the opportunity.

Name: Fortiter [Brave - Latin] Boy / Tempestas[Storm - Latin] Girl
Role: Knight (I'll be using Fortiter)
Personality: Fortiter is a full out fighter. This does not mean that he would attack anything he sees like a beserker though. With his knightly honor, Fortiter would only use his power when necessary - when a fair maiden is in need, for his own safety, or even just to train. He does not really know much of his parents - just their names is about it. Having a knight's honor but also a thief's trickery, Fortiter is also cunning, able to sweet-talk to get what he wants, when he wants, but still respects his knightly code of honor.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES

Tradition: Courting of the High Court This is the tradition where mature, adult members of the McCallen clan bring forth a wanderer into the clan, introducing them to the superiors, Edana and Sam, asking for their rite to adulthood. The High Court would decide whether their clan member and the one brought forth is right for each other (this answer is an often yes). After this, the male, whether a clan member or stranger, is to court the mare, and the newly found pair receives a quarter of their own, where they are accustomed to settle into to begin their own families.

Prompt Response Prompt Two (he is taken by Beelzebub)

"Sir Beelzebub." The foal beamed with pride as he heard his voice chiming, calling forth the grand Beelzebub. "It is time for my next lesson. What should it be today?"

He gently stood, remaining still, eyes focused on the stallion whom raised him all his life. He did not know much of his parents, he was told that word had spread of Beelzebub saving a dying foal. That was Fortiter. Everything that the foal lived up to was to give respect and honor to his guardian. Beelzebub was his master, and Fortiter? A mere servant. But he was raised like if he was a blood son, which was what Fortiter enjoyed.

Ears twitching, he thought that he heard Beelze whisper something under his breath. "Sir? What did you just say?" The foal was rather mature for his age, not really experiencing much of a pleasant foalhood. It was always to train and train, for what? Just the other day, he was taught how to outrun an enemy, and to fight back when needed. He was also told to never harm a lady, for it would be a sin to.

Not a few days ago though, Fortiter could have recalled seeing his dear Beelze yell at a mare though, and wasn't that considered harm? He could now see something shiny on the ground next to Beelze. Slowly approaching it realizing that Beelze was heavy in thought, the foal snatched the item, and saw that it was a piece of metal.

Metal... why did it look so familiar? "Bee..Beelzebub? What is it?" he asked.

Turning around, Beelze's eyes stared at the metal and then to the foal. "It's nothing Fortiter. Err.. meet me at the field in a bit, okay?"

"Okay..." he replied. There was hesitation in the stallion's voice, and Fortiter knew that the stallion did know something about this object. He would have to find out.

Name: Faolan MacTaíl{meaning Little Wolf} Boy / Saoirse MacTaíl{Freedom} Girl
Role: A knightly thief who has a brilliant mind, but has a dark side do to what happened in the past.
*Will do the response as the female, but the personality is the same for both*
Personality: *Her personality is due to change with rp and each event that happens to her in her life. She will go through stages until she becomes the brilliant knight her family could be proud of*
Foal: Conflicted and tortured. She is eager to please and would do anything to get some recognition from her adopted father. Inner turmoil continues to battle within her and threatens to be unleashed. She is a smart foal, who enjoys scintillating conversation about philosophical ideals and relishes the workings of her mind to maneuver out of difficult situations. Her mind is her only escape from what is happening in the outside world.

Adult: Crafty, cleaver, brilliant, quick, honorable, Saoirse understands that the world is not black and white, but locked in an array of greys. She was raised by a twisted stallion that caused her to be a broken creature who always wrestled with the idea of right and wrong. Her adopted father had a different sense of what she was to accomplish in the world and he tried to convince her that his way was right. Having years of mixed signals the mare finally left to seek out what being honorable truly meant. But it did not turn out the way she had wished, on her journey she would steal to survive and began to enjoy the rush she felt when doing so, but the guilt would prey on her each night. Her thievery continued and she strayed from her quest, no longer caring that she was abandoning honor. Shades of grey were coloring her life, and guilt no longer riddled her.

Despair and loneliness were constant companions to the mare, until one day she heard the words that would change her life forever. The idea of knighthood. Honor, perseverance, compassion, were the words that filled that single idea. On her journey to find a night to teach her the ways of battle and morality; she slowly began to leave the well of sadness behind her and enter into a different world where one could escape the torture of her past.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES

Tradition:
• Training with Callan MacTaíl: Knight training with the patriarch of the Clan.
• The keeping of a Clan name
• The bestowing of small dagger at the onset of adulthood, signifying that they will not use the weapon to harm, but to aid and protect the weak.

Prompt Response

Prompt 2 - Genetics
What was she? Was she a product of her genes or the environment in which she was raised? Saoirse stared out at the forest with her blank eyes, her quest to find honor was now for naught. She had thought that she would do better, once she left Beezlebub, but now there was nothing but grey. Who was she? She was nothing like her adopted father, yes she had moments where the world would turn black and she would want nothing more than to destroy what was before her. So, perhaps she was more a product of her upbringing than genes after all.

Her quick mind could not help her with the sinking depression she was allowing herself to fall into; she had abandoned the quest for honor when she began stealing from those she met. They were all such easy marks, believing her tales of woe and giving her items to help with her pain or those who did not help willingly soon discovered they were missing a precious babble the next day. It was addicting, the rush she received from stealing, it was rewarding in a sense, and she finally felt that she excelled at something.

She was spiraling down too quickly, what was she to do? Her life did not appear to be going in the right direction, but at the moment she could not bring herself to care. Rustling in the bushes drew her attention away from her inner debate. A stallion covered in armor walked out of the woods; his smile knew, like he understood what she was going through. It was strange; he put her at ease and did not come across as one she would call a mark. His words were cryptic but they were filled with a truth that even she could not deny.

Before she could respond to the stallion, he turned around and vanished into the woods. Saoirse stood there, a bemused expression on her countenance. It was time she left the dark path of thievery to enter one that was not so dark. Knighthood, it had a very interesting ring to it. With a smile on her face, the broken mare made up her mind to become something more.

-----------------------------

I also had some ideas for plots

Plots:

1) I was thinking for the plot where they go confront Beelzebub that you include the entire Callan/Bella family to help try to get the stolen basket back.
2) For the foal that was captured I was thinking of lots of plots with her/his adopted family. Where she/he did not feel like she/he truly belonged with them or how they created the broken creature that she is.
3) When she/he leaves Beezlebub, and becomes a thief I was thinking of having one of her family being one of her marks before she even knows that they are family.
4) Another plot is that I think she/he should come across Callan when on the journey to discover what being a knight truly means and trains under him.
5) And after she/he becomes a knight (who still likes to steal, but give to the poor), she will encounter her family and come across the soquili that she stole from when she was a disreputable thief.

Name: Samael-Boy(if this is too similar to the dad's I can get a back-up) / Elysia-Girl
Meaning behind the names:
Samael- In Jewish mythology, this is the name of an archangel, a fallen angel, the Angel of Death or Poison, the accuser, seducer, and destroyer famously known as The Grim Reaper. He is said to be both good and evil, having been one of the heavenly host. He rules over seven habitations called Sheba Ha-yechaloth, infernal realms of the Earth. The Talmud states: "the evil Spirit, Satan, and Sama'el the Angel of Death, are the same"; and Samael is also therein equated with the biblical serpent who tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. He is called the Prince of Darkness and chief of the Dragons of Evil and is held responsible for the scorching wind of the desert called the simoom. It is probably the Hebrew form of Syrian Shemal ("left"), but composed of 'el "god" and suwm "to create" or "to place, to set," hence "whom God makes." It is also sometimes rendered "venom of God." Also spelled Samil and Sammael.

Elysia- From Greek Pedion Elysion, the name of the heavenly fields of Elysia, a section of the Underworld mentioned in Greek mythology. The mythological place name may have evolved from the designation of a place, or person, struck by lightning (enelysion, enelysios); if so, the name means "lightning-struck."

Role: [Fighter? Scholar? OTHER? In a family of knights and thieves, where does yours stand?] Philosopher I think, after being around Beelze and his unique thoughts. Though partially broken he/she has gained a unique view of the world. Even in the beginning he/she would have a thurst for knowledge a curiosity to know the world.
Personality: -its a rough start with much room for development through plots and rp- xD
Temper: Hardened, Lost(a few options, a definite decision to be made through plot developments and what not)
General for either gender: Born of a different name, but forced to forget and then given a new name more fitting or so he/she will be told. Faint memories and images lay buried in memories long past of the true family he/she were blessed to have but what was he/she to believe...was it a dream, a wish, a desire long denied him/her.....the past lay in a fog of mystery sadness and loathing.

There is an emptiness and sadness...a hole that lays unfilled. He/She knows this is not their true home from the shadows of memories that linger around. There is also a high sense of justice and knowing what is right and wrong and a curiosity to learn and know about how things work, even life itself. He/She has had become hard to survive with this so called 'father' knowing this is not the place she/he is meant to be. Though there is a longing to live and flee...to escape this harsh reality that is life, there inlays a fear that keeps hooves planted. The desire to know the truth however drives one forward to find what has been missing regardless of the fear. Were they left unwanted, left for dead? Dont ask questions you dont wish to know the answer to the mind speaks but the heart is willing to brave the truth....otherwise she/he will be lost to himself/herself forever.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES indeed, sounds so fun and intriguing Id be honored to play a part

Tradition: To be a knight or a thief one at times must be well versed in stealth as well as cunning and strength(both mind and body) I could see trails being invented or them being charged with completing such things that prove they have what it takes to be in the 'profession' of their choosing. A thief def. needs cunning and stealth. A trail to be set where its all put to the test, can they steal the shinny without confrontation, without being made and caught, do they have the wits to go in unnoticed or do they desire a confrontation and if so can they defeat their opponent or trap them so they can escape? For a knight one must be smart and brave, this includes knowing the best way to go about a mission whether it's rescuing a damsel in distress or how best to lead a search party to find a missing child. Can they be a leader and a follower, do they have the will and strength to do what may need to be done. There are numerous situations that could be invented to test the skills and wits the fun will be adjusting the trails to fit each individual as they come of age where the adults decide what best way to go about it.

Prompt Response
-Prompt 2 Genetics-

Dark but bright eyes new to the world have emerged filled with wonder, curiosity and amazement. The sounds one heard within the basket now un-muffled and matching images and colors to compliment them. Unknowing where to start the young foal surveyed the area looking to the faces of the family that he belonged to. What the foal would come to know as joy and love shown brightly on their faces. The foal couldn't imagine being happier.

Days passed and all the children became familiar with their surroundings and started to shine more and also show how different they were. This one in particular seemed to be curious of everything, always the one to ask questions and seek knowledge in everything. 'What's the purpose of a rock? Why do caterpillars turn into butterflies...how is that possible? What makes the grass green and sky blue?' Wanting to know and understand everything. Though some questions they wanted to not be told but be set on a path to discover the answer on their own and then in turn to teach others about the new discovery. Though very curious there is a strong sense of duty especially to family, especially being the eldest, the foals wanted nothing more then to protect the younger siblings and also look out for mom and dad in whatever way possible. Curiosity would always get the better of this one from time to time, but they try to stay close to home.

The wonder of this world is too vast however, at one point the curiosity and thirst for knowledge may get the better of this young one, but they will face what comes at them with a head held high and courage in his heart.

(brain fart with the prompt response xD)

Username: hanging gallow
Name: Kenley Boy / Brianna (Bri for short) Girl
Role: Scholarly Thief/Spy – I would love to imagine he or she would be someone who loved to divulge in learning. Someone who wanted to gain knowledge and would certainly go out of his or way to steal information if need be. I could see he or she being really good at becoming a spy after their trials. Gatherer of information, always wanting to know more and more about others, about groups, about every little thing.

Personality:
Similar to his or her mother they feel the need to always obtain something, that something is knowledge versus an object of sorts. They must always know something, learn something, always gain some sort of obtainable knowledge that they can keep and use for his or hers advantage later. They would have their mother’s skill in thievery however less interested in collecting material goods. He or she would have a rather cheery attitude as well always keeping the façade of a smile. Being a spy is meaning keeping his or her composure and never letting the others know when he or she is lying and when he or she doesn’t truly belong. However, unlike Edana he or she will prefer to talk in rather regal language like their grandfather and father unless the situation calls for otherwise. Cocky would be a must, they would need to feel confident in being a spy and would definitely feel that he or she will be ok and manage to get out of the situation no matter what. As for the father’s skills of being a knight, he or she would at least know some sort of fighting skills, they could hold their own ground if anything is sure to get out of hand. They would be better suited to quick movements, being able to deal multiple blows and to disarm their opponent versus a long drawn out respectable battle. Loyalty however is rather questionable. He or she much like their mother would not want to lose what they know so easily, they aren’t likely to give away information for free unless it was either very necessary or at a rather high price (usually some sort of trade for another). The more people know the more the secret is passed around and less and less chance to use that information against someone else.

Would you like to have your foal part of the Death in the Family plot? YES of course!

Tradition: Apprenticeship/Squire hood/Page/ ETC. - Adulthood like Ceremony
After the coming of age ceremony that the young adult would go through he or she would then learn more his or her own skills. It would be the best if he or she traveled and learn under someone who is in the family even if it be a mate of someone or a rather distant relative of a cousin or so forth. If there is no one in the family that has any of the skills he or she would want then it would go to some sort of friend known that were willing to teach however not preferred by the family. In other words they would have to really want to learn that skill or at least be willing to be parted from anyone they know from their family for a long period of time. He or she would spend at least a year to two with them learning their skills before being sent on their first mission/quest/or if some sort of skill exam such as blacksmithing/scholar/healing knight. If they pass they are able to move on and continue in their field however if they fail or do not show enough skill they must stay for another year under the tutelage and attempt again or if need be they can be suggested to a different field of skill that would suit them better. Learning skills are necessary for living and rather an honor to be accepted by a family member to learn such abilities. Being rude or ungrateful would rather be frowned upon.

Prompt Response
Prompt 1-3 (IDK I treated it as the day before leaving and her emotions of being back neutral if that is not ok I’m sorry)

But for a plot I don’t know exactly the plan for Beelzebub however I would love for him or her to be feeling conflicted at the beginning. If Beelzebub has offered some sort of promise or he/she feels like he is now his/her family versus his/her real family. She/he would be able to return home in exchange for any sort of information, secrets and etc. to benefit Beelzebub or he or she could betray him and give all the information he/she knows about him to her/his family. It would completely depend on his/her interaction with the rest of the family that would end up deciding what path he or she would choose. I think it would be fun to sort of talk it out and see biggrin
-----------------
She could hear them, the little whispers as she made her way past her so called “family.” Bri narrowed her eyes as the small pang of hate started to settle in her heart like a needle piercing in a festering wound. However no matter what a smile played on her lips as she greeted them in passing.
The prodigal daughter had return yet the feeling of not being one of them anymore lingered in the air every time she appeared. They would chatter among themselves of how she was “weird.” Yet she had pleaded with her parents to stay and live with them who seemed overjoyed in finding her alive after all the time. She was even allowed to go on her “Coming of Age Ceremony” that would start as soon as the sun arose tomorrow.

Yet Bri started to question in her mind if maybe it would be better to merely disappear, to just not return home. To elaborate some scene as if something horrible had happened to her on her ceremony like some beast such as a skinwalker and all what was left was a puddle of blood. It was not that they could possible miss her anymore than they had done in the past. They could just think of it as a ghost who appeared for a second only to vanish again. It wasn’t as if she owed them any loyalty, it was just blood relations she didn’t owe them anything. They had lost her to Beelzebub, forgotten her, tossed her away and written her off as dead and everything she learned was due to him. The moving silently, the listening to secrets told, the constant urge to always learn information, to keep it store it in her memory and to use it to her advantage. It was from him and his cruel behavior towards her however without learning those skills she would be nothing. Bri would not even be to the place she remembered as home, but some odd reason it didn’t feel like home anymore.

Bri had wanted to give the information to her family about Beelzebub, but however she yet any reason to feel that they deserved it. It may or may not aid them in any way, or it may just merely give them another reason to hate her even more. Maybe he was right, Bri thought thinking of the full reason why Beelzebub had let her go. For her to spy on them, to gain information, to gleam what they knew and not only to defeat them but the torture they deserved.

Another face only familiar in the hazy memories glanced at her as she gave them a sweet smile in return. Their eyes immediately went to the ground avoiding her as she passed as if she was nothing more but a blemish in a seemingly perfect world.

Bri felt the tinge of pain, she would have to make her decision soon. To give her loyalty to her family or the highest bidder she now could consider family.
