The young Orderite took to training for another day or so after his first successful dragon hunt, keeping the orb within viewing distance to keep him motivated and driven. Really, he didn't need all that motivation to train anymore. Running, climbing up and down trees, hiking, physical labor, and strength training - he was slowly starting to learn to enjoy his work. It was almost like torture, he recalled, when he first started out, but it'd been almost three months since then, and the daily routine was something he knew he wouldn't be able to live without anymore. He'd gotten a lot stronger since then, he knew, and Ainsley was more confident in himself now than before.

It was already almost dinner time and, once again, he'd been tasked with going out to find wood for the fire. Quan volunteered himself to find the food, though Ainsley had vocally accused him of being lazy and going for the marketplace again. The man simply laughed and went off, neither denying nor confirming the boy's accusation. With a grumble, Ainsley holstered his weapon and went off to find that wood. And, as his luck would have it, not fifteen minutes into his little trek and he was face to face with yet another Ysali, its eyes soon locking on the blonde. It didn't even blink before attacking, causing Ainsley to react as best he could. The boy dodged left and rolled, grunting in the process as he wound up running into the brush.

"My luck..." he muttered as he struggled to get back on his feet. "Alright, you stupid dragon, bring it on!" Ainsley knew he could take this one down; hell, he'd gotten one before, right? This ought to be a piece of cake now.

The dragon let out a low growl and continued after him; Ainsley could only defend in the time he'd been given to react, using his weapon to block and push back as often as he could. When he thought he saw an opening as the dragon turned to make another attack, he lunged for the dragon's torso, weapon held up high above his head. His target was clear, however he wasn't quite fast enough. With an ear-splitting roar the dragon turned and smacked the poor boy to the side, causing him to collide into a tree -- his world going black as he landed with a thud, once more, in the brush.

The dragon didn't seem to mind that the boy had disappeared. It sort of snorted at its victory, then went on its way again, and it'd be hours before Quan even found him.
