A battle between Antiope and Zuri in Jauhar.

Ever since getting attacked, or rather Belle getting attacked, Zuri knew that she had to learn to fight better. Sure she knew the basics, she knew how to protect herself, but it wasn't enough. She had to know how to better protect herself, how to keep people from hurting her or anyone she cared for. So one day she went looking for Antiope, hoping that the younger girl would help her practice. Thankfully the shifter agreed, and a time and place were set up.
"Thanks again for agreeing to do this with me." Zuri said with a smile towards Antiope. And then it was time to begin. Zuri moved into fighting stance and when she saw that Antiope was ready she nodded before holding her spear in front of her and running towards Antiope. The two of them had agreed to not hold back, nothing would be learned that way, so although Zuri didn't want to hurt Antiope she didn't want to offend her by going easy on her either.

Antiope smiled at Zuri and lifted her beads in front of her, preparing for the sparring match to come. "No problem!"
She was excited to say the least. She wanted to help Zuri out and who knew how long it had been since the last time Antiope was able to stretch her legs.
Zuri launched the first attack and Antiope was able to sidestep and launch back an attack of her own. To her disappointment, it didn't do much of anything. Antiope really was rusty. She shook out her arms and stretched her shoulders and laughed. "Alright, for real next time."

Both girls attacks had missed. Zuri laughed along with Antiope, just because they were battling didn't mean they couldn't also laugh. They were still friends. "We were just warming up, that didn't count." Zuri said with another laugh as she turned back around and got back into her fighting position. At least Antiope was a little rusty as well, she imagined that the other girl would have beat her in a second if she wasn't.
"Round two." Zuri said with a smile as she moved back into fighting position and rushed towards Antiope once again, aiming for her arms.

Antiope crouched in an attempt to dodge Zuri's sweeping attack, but it didn't quite work out how she had planned, The spear came in contact with her shoulder and knocked some pain into her system. She winced and attempted to come back with a counter.
She raised her beads and pushed out a water attack in retaliation. Her shoulder broke her concentration and her attack came out weak. "Haha, you got me on that one." She called out to Zuri. She hoped that Zuri wouldn't go easy on her just because she was the first to take a hit.

Zuri smiled, but it was a half smile. Although this seemed like a good plan, maybe she should have spared with someone who she didn't like as much. She could see Antiope wince after her attack hit the girls shoulder. She almost called out sorry, and in that moment she was hit with the small water attack and stumbled back a little.
She wanted to call out a truce, but then Antiope laughed and it was all good. The girl was stronger then Zuri had given her credit, and at once she felt bad for wanting to quit. Antiope seemed just as edger as she to have this little battle. "Beginners luck!" she called out with a laugh before lunging again, this time going for the girls legs. She couldn't bring herself to attack Antiope in the same place twice, even if she figured the girls best way of attacking Zuri was with her arm and hands.

Zuri powers up!
Antiope giggled at Zuri's words. Maybe it was beginner's luck, or maybe Antiope was rustier than she thought. She spent most of her time now providing medicine for everyone, rather than fighting. Now that she thought about it, the last time she fought anything was the beast in the cavern in Sauti.
She attempted to jump up from Zuri's attack at her legs, but once again she couldn't quite get away. Zuri sure was fast. It caught Antiope's calf and she could already feel that that would bruise in the morning. She stumbled backward and gave herself a safe distance from Zuri. "Haha, maybe it's more than beginner's luck. Or maybe I'm just that rusty!" She called out with a smile.
Antiope had to focus this next round. She had to pick up her game and turn this fight around, or at least make it so it wasn't such a horrible loss.

Zuri smiled, she was good at this! Maybe she didn't need as much practice as the originally thought she did! It wasn't bad to have practice though, and although she was happy she was doing so well she was waiting for Antiope to put up more of a fight! Maybe she was waiting till Zuri was more tired, or till she wasn't expecting it, to attack.
"Maybe a mix of both?" she said with a laugh and a smile. It was nice that they could still laugh and play while fighting. Once again Zuri went for the attack, going for Antiope's arm other arm.

Antiope could feel her limbs stretching and become adjusted to the battle at hand. It felt good. She quickly dodged Zuri's attack and bounced back with one of her own. She threw a water attack at her opponent with a force. Now this is what she was talking about. Maybe it wouldn't be a complete slaughter after all!
"Careful now! Some of this rust is starting to wear off!" she yelled to Zuri. Hopefully they could both keep up this pace and maybe Antiope would take a nap later.

Zuri is powering up!
Zuri was a little confused when she completely missed Antiope! She was even more taken aback when the water pushed into her chest almost knocking her down, though luckily she regained her balance just in time. Now she was soaked, and she was pretty sure there would be a bruise in the place the water had made first contact with.
When Antiope said the rust was wearing off she laughed again, "I wouldn't want it any other way!" she called back before getting in a fighting stance and concentrating to stay both out of the other girls way and getting ready for her next attack.

Antiope smiled and laughed at the positive mood this battle was under. Nothing was better than practicing with allies and friends and even though they would both be completely sore tomorrow, she wouldn't have it any other way.
She launched her next attack at Zuri, this time summoning ice shards to hit her in her stomach. It sure wouldn't feel good with the water that just soaked through Zuri's clothes.

She was ready, and the ice made the water even worse. But it strangely reminded her of home, and if she was batteling there how she would have the stuff all around her. "Come on, using ice to hurt someone from Zena" she teased with a laugh. When this was all done they could have a picnic and review their battle. Yes, it would be nice.
Refocused from the last time Zuri threw herself, hoping to turn the practice battle in her favor.

"Woah!" Antiope called out as she stumbled out of the way of the next attack from Zuri. It was incredibly powerful and she was just grateful to have missed it. She might not have made it to another attack if that one had hit her. "Trying to kill me now?" She called out to Zuri with a laugh. She launched another blast of air at her opponent, hoping to deter her next attack.
