Grrel stalked arrogantly through the forests of Serenia, her orange scales gleaming in the mid-day light. She'd just fed on a rather plump and slow Hastar. While normally she wouldn't have gone after something so close in her size, she'd just finished healing and needed the extra meat to regain her energy and muscle. She'd managed to kill it cleanly as it was eating the remains of its own meal.
Full and happy and for once in the past few weeks not hurting, Grrel was looking for something to do other than get hurt. She'd had enough of fighting for now, all she wanted was entertainment.

Tilawen was for the most part minding her own business, sitting upon a ridge of rocks her body tense as she was listening for any sounds in the forest that was unnatural. After being hunted so often by that one dragon she was positive every living thing was out to get her, but after she had managed to fell that one dragon she had tried to get herself to relax. They were running out of days here, and she wanted to try and enjoy the warm sun while she was still able to.
Her father was no where in sight and she was alone, a long wooden stick in her hands. She had grown rather attached to it, for it had helped her defeat the dragon as well build up her courage. It had become apart of her and she doubted she would part with it, at least for the time being.
Laying the branch in her lap she went to retie her long hair, she had taken it out of the fallen pony tail to gather up the loose strands and it she mildly hoped she could keep one of the outfits Junjie had lent her, it wasn't a dress...but it made her feel ...safer.

Her head held high and arrogantly sauntering about, Grrel spotted a strange creature, almost oblivionite, but with some dovaa aspects.. was this one of those things Kadryn had mentioned called hybrids? Her draconian face gaped in a toothy grin. Entertainment had been found!
She elegantly jumped upon a fallen tree and perched there, the sun glinting off her orange scales.
"Why hello there small creature," she drawled lazily, trying to affect an air of detached superiority when all she wanted to do was examine the new being and ask her questions.

A girl never moved as fast as this one did when suddenly a creature was moving up into a tree before her, stumbling she almost tripped over her own two feet as she tried to 'ready' herself for battle. Though her hands shook from the surprise of being suddenly greeted by drakein she had to swallow before lowering her 'weapon' of sorts. If you could call a walking a stick a weapon.
Blinking at the creature that was speaking to her, she lowered the weapon though wasn't yet convinced it was going to try and eat her. Giving a nod of her head she was reminded of D...that drakein didn't want to eat her either...in fact he had lectured her on manners...did all drakein like manners?
"...G..ood day." Was her only response, after all the poor girl barely spoke as it was.

Grrel chuckled out loud as she saw the dark child jumped and scamper about in a pathetic attempt to 'defend' herself. Really! If Grrel had meant to attack she'd have attacked! Not announced herself like this! These two-leggers, their war's made them so flighty!
She waited a bit to see if the child would say more than hello, her purple eyes looking over the tiny tike as if she were an interesting bug. And she was! Interesting, at least, the bug part would have to be determined....
The ridged above her eye rose as she imitated an eyebrow raise that she'd seen Kadryn do before.
"Just hello? Nothing more? Has your voice failed you small one?"

Tilawen felt..again like she was being judged that look the dragon was giving her reminded her too much about another dragon who did something rather similar to her. And if this dragon was anything like D...then the worst she was going to go was bite her with words. Relaxing slightly though her guard was still rather high.
"...I...don't..." She started, but didn't know where to go with it after all she was...little for words. "Don't speak....much." She continued uncomfortable with all the attention the dragon was giving to her. Holding her staff close to her chest she lowered her gaze and looked to the ground. As if there was something very fascinating with the earth near her feet.
After several moments of not speaking she...went to sit back down giving a long sigh. "...are..all...dragons ..like you? Like...D? ..just...looking for..someone ...to lecture...gawk at?"

Grrel was vastly amused. This little one was very much like Rosetta! Though that girl had the back bone to at least speak with out mumbling...
"Ah! So you do speak.. And, please small one; it's Drakein not Dragon. There's a difference. And yes. I do so enjoy examining you two-leggers." She stood up and sauntered over to tower over the small girl. "You look so weird, so different. One wonders what you Gods had in mind when they made you. After all, the Draconinc form is so much more.. better. So that's why we.. gawk as you so inelegantly put it."
Grrel circled around the child, getting a better view at this new critter. Such strange horns.. Since when did Oblivionites have horns?

The gods? Tilawen looked up at the drakein wondering just what the creature meant by the gods. Where there gods that decided putting her on this earth to just torture her?
"I ..am a joke then...for the gods...an...mistake....." The girl sounded grim the last word something that was more of a label for herself. If there was any word she could pick that her father would use to describe her 'mistake' was the one.
Tilawen watched with her glowing green eyes as the drakien continued to circle around her feeling rather insignificant and increasingly irritated. "What...do you want of me? To kill me? Everyone seems to think I shouldn't exist."

Grrel as taken back by the young things words. A mistake? Everyone hating her? Why? She knew that this one didn't look the same as the other Oblivionite Grrel had seen, but was that difference enough to make people hate her? How odd... Differences should be cherished, the more differences in a clan meant that the clan had a better ability to meet and win more challenges!
She stopped circling and sat in front of the girl, gravely gazing at her. How to give this girl a pep talk to make her more confident? Grrel may not have liked the two leggers a whole bunch, but she hated it when children acted this way! They should be happy and energetic, causing mischief and enlivening the lives of their family!
"A mistake? People are not mistakes, actions are! I don't know why you seem to think that. Yes you do look different than the Oblivionites I have seen, but that difference should be a boon to you! If all of a clan are the same a single disease can wipe them out! Differences are need to survive, to enhance the clan! You should be proud of yourself!"

Tilawen looked up when the drakien had stopped in front of her, though her gaze was quick to retreat back to the ground. Tilawen had a hard time meeting the gaze of those she didn't know well. When the drakien began speaking to her again she found her eyes widening, her body trembling slightly.
"B...u.t I am a mistake. Everyone says so..my grandparents...Burrom.." The young girl seemed like she was trying very hard not to cry. "Every time I go somewhere we get attacked...Burrom saves..me...but I don't know why." It was getting very hard now and she had to stop talking to reign in her emotions. The few that she had dealt with, sadness bitterness....if she had to choose one..bitterness would always prevail.
"He should just let them kill me if I am such a burden on him." Her tone had taken on a sharp edge obviously she wasn't going to allow herself to cry in front of anyone.

Grrel was shocked. She didn't like two-leggers very much, and this just enhanced her distaste. How could they treat a child so?! Children were the key to the future, they were to be treasures and cherished, and yet here this child was clearly being treated like trash! No wonder they stole the eggs of her people to enslave. The majority obviously didn't care about family children!
Grrel was working herself up to a fine state of feeling superior and indignant about the Magescians, never-mind she'd seen many loving families in Kadryn's home village and she'd witnessed fathers teaching their kids about the wilds. She ignored the fact that not all the families were the same and that her own people had parents who didn't take care of their children.
"Everyone is wrong then. I don't like many Magescians, most of them are egg thieves who steal our children and ignore that they are real people. And I don't think I'd like your family very much either... This ... Burrom though, that one must be saying you are a mistake so as not to piss off your elders. If he saves you, than he must care." She looked at the small girl in front of her and felt pity. What a dreadful life, to be told you were worthless by the very same people who were supposed to love you the most!

The young girl picked at the grass at her feet, listening to the drakien she wondered if the creature was just ...pitying her. At Grrel's latter words she stopped mindlessly killing the grass and looked at the blades between her fingers. He truly cared?
There was that flicker of hope again, an annoying and irritating feeling that always let her down. "I..don't know...I..gu...ess so?" Looking up she moved some of her hair out of her face, looking finally squarely at Grrel a moment before flicking her gaze away.
"I..doubt they are wrong...but..Burrom..doesn't treat me like...Junjie's mother does...he...doesn't want me to call him Father...even though he is..." The words were clear though quiet it seemed she was trying to work around the idea of Burrom actually having loving feelings for her. It would be a shame that she would mistake his care and concern later on for him finally loving her. It would be the biggest mistake in her life.

Grrel wasn't sure who Junjie was, or why it mattered, but maybe it was a child in the same situation? She snorted, "Each parent is different, comparing yours to another's parent is a waste of time! You are born to certain people and you must try your best with what you are given. I call my parents by name, though non of my clutch mates do. All I know is that if a parent loves their child, they'll take the effort to save you. Does he take some time out of his day for?" This girl had some issues that was for certain. Grrel wasn't sure why two-leggers did what they did, but family was one thing that they all had and the feelings of a parent were universal.... right?

Tilawen had to ponder these words. A parent who loves their child would take the time to save them. So ...by that way of thinking Burrom loved her, in his own strange and weird way. She supposed that..it was true, Burrom did his best to protect her but still...
"Burrom...takes me ..everywhere...I guess...he wants to make sure I am safe." She stated albeit grudgingly. Some part of her fought against being hopeful, she didn't want to be disappointed.
Looking up to Grrel some part of her wanted to wrap her arms around the drakien's neck, she wanted to be comforted..but she remained sitting on the ground instead. After moments of silence she looked away from the drakien,
"...are you close...with your family?"

Grrel say something in the girls eye that made her feel sad. She wasn't sure what it was, but she couldn't deny her instincts. Little ones needed to be protected and comforted... So strange that a two-legger is making me feel this way, Grrel thought. Normally it's only Keinlings....
She decided to leave the topic of the girls family behind. It obviously was a painful topic for her. So instead she ay down on the ground and lounged about. "My family? Oh yes. I get along with most of them. Though one of my clutch sisters is stupid beyond belief and irritates me. We don't have family like you two-leggers do." She looked over at Tilawen. The clutches are looked after by the entire clan, though we all know who our parents are. The clan is the family to us."
