Finally, after hours of commuting, Indu had finally arrived at her home for the foreseeable future. She was so close she could taste the classes, but there was still one hurdle to jump before she could truly relax. The hardest test of all, the one that would separate the real ghouls from the scarelings. With a heave and a huff, the young reaper dropped her overstuffed dufflebag at her feet and stood, arms on hips, feet wide apart, staring up at the towering buildings of Amityville. It was a test of wills, hers versus the academys. Of course, there would only be one winner... .... ...after five minutes of glaring around, she relented, reaching into her bag for the school map. What might have been legible at one time had turned into a mass of smudges from an unfortunate spill, and turning it around in her hands a few times, Indu had to admit to herself that she wasn't even certain if she was holding it the right way up. No, there was nothing to it but to continue to stare down the scenery, in hopes that it would relent and show her the way to the reaper dormitories. Or of course, ask another student. Crumpling up the useless map, she looked around for a bin to throw it in, or failing that, a student she could pounce on for directions.

Terra had been shopping. She pulled her scooter to a stop and tucked it in behind her brother's bike, grabbing the huge bags of groceries from the back and starting inside. She had no clue that a fellow reaper ghoul was staring down the school--in fact she could barely see around the bags she was carrying. "Oooph!" she said when she bumped into Indu. "Aye aye ayeeee," she complained as one of her melons fell out of a bag, rolling across the ground. "Lo siento, I did not see you there," she added, trying to manhandle all of her bags into one arm so she could crouch and grab the fruit-- It wasn't working very well.

Indu's immediate response to getting gently bodychecked by a shopping bag was a slightly muffled and garbled exclamation of understandable surprise. However, she was nothing if not quick to rally to someone in need of assistance. Pulling herself together with commendable speed, the ghoul was quickly down on the ground helping to try and capture the spilled fruit, and prevent any others from raining down on her. "No problem, here, let me! Careful, you'll spill more -"

"Oh thank you!" Terra said happily. "I have left off restocking for too long," she admitted, re-situating the bags so she could see the other ghoul better. "Hola! I am Terra! I have not seen you before, are you new?" she asked curiously. "Oh! You have a very big bag--um--I believe--" she looked around, wondering how she could help her with the bag and get her groceries to her room at the same time. "Perhaps we can take what we can and come back for the rest? If you need help with it? I will show you the way to our dorms!" Since obviously the other ghoul was a reaper-- "You are a reaper, as well, no?" she asked, just to make double sure.

Indu paused, a melon in each hand, quirking her eyebrow at the other ghoul's question. "Well yeah, I mean, what do I look like?" The tone of her voice was light and careless enough, but the subtle shifts in her body language didn't match. Of course she was a reaper, what else would she be? Undead? Was this ghoul saying she looked like a monster? Standing up and dumping the melons in the other reaper's bag, she tugged and fussed at her own luggage, trying to hide her displeasure and embarrassment. "Um, anyway, yeppers I just arrived. I guess the bag is a hint? Ahahaha ~ ahem." Rallying her dignity and trying to recover from the sudden dip in the temperature, she turned back to face Terra, all smiles. "I'm Indu, and yeah, I could use some help. Actually, I have no idea where my dorm is supposed to be, so that would be like, super awesome!"

"Oh, there are some ghosts, they look very much like reapers!" Terra said. "I was just checking that you are not a ghost. I do not have ghost sensing abilities," she admitted. "The dorms, they are just down this path," she added, starting forward. "It is very good to meet you, Indu! I am sure you will find the school very nice!" Well, other than the fieldtrips, she thought silently. But you couldn't flat out say "do not go on fieldtrips, they are dangerous and not nice," to a brand new student, could you? "That is the main school building!" she said, nodding towards the large building. "There are many interesting classes! That is the cafeteria, and that path leads to the undead dorms--" She seemed intent on explaining where EVERYTHING was.

On the subject of school, Indu brightened up even farther, head bobbing up and down in agreement to the other ghoul. "Well! Yeah! Amityville is the school to go to, right? I mean even with all the attention lately, that just shows that it's where all the people who make things happen are." Hauling her dufflebag over one shoulder, the weight from it making her lean comically to one side, Indu shufflejogged after Terra, her eyes following each direction, furiously concentrating and placing the locations in her head. If you leaned in close enough, you might be able to hear the internal monologue, meticulously fastening each new piece of knowledge firmly in it's place. After this tour, Indu was going to know this school like the back of her hand, or dissipate trying.

"And this is our dorm! Have you been assigned a room yet?" Terra asked her. "I am in room 104--it is in the basement, and it is across from my hermano--my brother's room. But that means it can be very noisy," she admitted. "If you know what floor your room is on, I can help you find it! Oh, but do you mind if we stop at my room for a moment?" She pushed the door open with her hip and held it open with her back so the other ghoul could go in as well.

Dropping her dufflebag for a moment to get her breath back, Indu awkwardly twirled a strand of hair around a finger. She would have preferred being able to answer in the affirmative, but it was turning out to be one of those days where everything that could go wrong did, but only in a mildly annoying and slightly inconveniencing manner. "I don't think so, but I'm not sure. I mean, there was kind of a little accident on the way here and all the instructions got wet and well, um, it's kind of hard to read them now." Hauling her bag up again across her shoulders, she made the universal 'keep going' gesture, one foot out to keep the door open. "No problem, heeere, you have both hands full, let me open the doors~!" Although it wasn't a conscious decision, deep down Indu was already trying to out-nice Terra. It was shaping up to be a vicious competition. Terra gave her a brilliant smile. "Gracias!" she said earnestly. "I am so used to having many bags--I am very fond of cooking," she said. "So I get many groceries. But if you do not know what room you are in, we could ask at the office?" she offered. "They will know! You can leave your things in my room until then, if you like?" The war was vicious, yes, and ironically, Terra didn't even know it was a battle. She headed for the stairs that led down to the bottom floor, taking them easily even though she couldn't see them. It looked as if she HAD done this a million times. "Tell me, do you like music?" she asked eagerly. amicableAggressor They call me the breeze--/shot

Hesitating behind the other girl, Indu eyed the stairs. Unlike Terra, she hadn't done this a million times, and the thought of lugging a heavy bag down all of them was pretty unappealing. But what could she say, no thanks I don't want to have to heave my stuff all the way down to your apartment, why don't you carry it along with both your full grocery bags? Nnnno. So pausing again to ready herself, she began the process of pulling it down the stairs after the other ghoul. Thunk, thunk, thunk. Making her way behind Terra as bet she could like this, Indu barely caught the music question. When she did, she floundered for a bit. Sure she listened to the radio when it was on, but she wasn't one of those teens who was really into it, going to concerts and screaming their heads off at some young boils on stage. "I um, I guess. It's not really one of my things, yanno? Like, I can take it or leave it." Trying to give her sentence a positive spin, she thought for a moment then continued. "Oh! I do like musicals though, they're great. Or like, movie soundtracks. Stuff that isn't boilbands."

"Boilbands," Terra repeated almost blandly. Then, astonishingly, she launched into a mini tirade in Spanish about the horrible and irresponsible idiota that had created the terrible thing known as "boilbands" which was rather entertaining whether you knew Spanish or not, because she actually tried to wave her hands while holding all of her bags and unlocking her door all at the same time. Then, finally, in very accented English, said "I do not like boilbands." And opened her door, leading the way into her brightly colored room. Woven cloths hung on the walls, and two beanbags sat in front of the skelevision in the main part of the room. "I do not mind musicals! I have seen some very good ones!" she said. "But I am a violinist," she explained. "My hope is to meet the other musical students. Oh, you can put the bag down," she added.

Indu leaned out of the way, grimacing inwardly as she watched the explosion she had inadvertently caused. So, the other ghoul clearly hadn't been talking about pop groups, then. Carefully filing the word boilbands under the 'do not mention' category, she settled back to wait for the tirade to finish, face locked in blank but polite incomprehension. As the enraged Terra calmed down, she relaxed and moved back into bag swinging radius, nodding a little nervously, eager to get the topic away from the b word and onto something that wasn't an obvious sore spot. "Um, yeah, no disagreements there." Perking up at the next part, she beamed encouraging at the other ghoul as she got to, thank jack, put her bag down. "Ohh? Well sorry, I've never picked up an instrument in my life, acting is more my thing. Though I've always wanted to try a bit of singing on stage. But that's totally cool! Do you perform?"

Her neck turned red. "No, I do not perform--well, except for the familia--but that is different! And friends! I happily play for friends if they are interested!" she explained. "But I am still learning--I do not feel that I am good enough to play in public," she admitted. "There are so many things I have yet to learn, and I am from a very small town--so I cannot compare myself to other violinists except over the skelevision and the radio," she explained. She put her things away quickly. "Shall we go to the office and get your room assignment now?" she invited.

"Oh." If Indu was the kind of ghoul to open up quickly to new acquaintances, she'd have shared the other girl's sentiments, herself being a notorious recluse whenever she was working on something she was unsatisfied with. It was something she struggled with, and she could understand completely the awkwardness that Terra felt explaining it. As it was however, she stuck to giving a little half shrug and letting the subject drop. Nudging her bag with a boot and idly surveying the room's decorations, she snapped back into attention as the other ghoul spoke again. "...eah? Yeah, that sounds great. Thanks for all the help!" Hauling her bag up again, she paused at the doorway. "Ohhh, uh, I totally forgot to ask anyone about this. Do you know if they allow minipets here? Like, in the dorm rooms? And I guess outside as well to take the for walks." Ice Queen otl sorry for the delay, i'll reply a lot this weekend;;
