Why on earth would you ever wear them? Sure buy them as a nice talking piece for your house, but wear them?! You'd be crazy

Some people like to protect their hands. Perhaps they're working with dangerous chemicals, sharp objects or alloys at 900 degrees Celsius.

As much as I find gloves and gauntlets to be awe inspiring, that's insane.
Like the ring of favor and protection with no inherent benefits.

Killing basking sharks for oil and meat... Just all kinds of stupid. Do people have no concept of what depleting ocean stocks, disrupting the ecosystem and damaging populations is? They are a threatened species for crying out loud. It feeds on zooplankton and invertebrates while swimming slowly and is completely harmless to humans.
Ugh I could rant about this all day but I'll refocus on the topic at hand.
Would I put it on? Yes.
Why? Because it would be cool and an interesting experience.
Mind you the price is ridiculous and I'd rather go for a dive with the sharks then buy a glove anyday.

You'd put them on? Even with the hooks that would hook into your hand and prevent you from ever taking them off unless you sliced them off?

Sure I would. It's an interesting talking point and it would be a challenge to get them off without cutting it up.
I don't like pain enough to try suspension (although I could maybe be talked into it) but a glove of thorns that you can take off any time you want seems okay XD
