He didn't know why he kept torturing himself... Venturing into the rogue lands, Leli decided, was NOT something he should keep doing.
Panting heavily, the large lion decided that he couldn’t take another step. How could he? He was sweating buckets under his fur, his scarf loosely hanging on his neck, something he couldn’t bare leaving behind yet didn’t dare to wrap properly and keep it from dragging in the dirt. Snuffling, he rolled onto his side, panting, grateful for the shade though greatly craving a nice drink of water. Whatever was he looking for when he came into the rogue lands? Obviously, pain, discomfort, and near death… Leli thought (ironically)dryly.

Heiko was going along his merry way, whistling a tune under his breath, excitement filling his chest. Oh, he couldn’t wait to be a pirate! The water, the heat, the warm breeze! Grinning ear to ear, he checked his gourd, ensuring the straps were secured, before continuing along.
Light blue and pale yellow caught his eyes. Blinking, Heiko slowed and squinted, staring at the lion in the distance. Frowning, he walked forward, noting the scarf and thick mass of mane. Probably dwells in the bizarre snowy area… he thought, edging closer cautiously. ”Are you alright?” Heiko called out, edging nearer to the panting lion.

Leli looked up at the voice. Blinking hazily in the sun, he stared up at the bright pink leopard and frowned, squinting. The leopard was way too bright. Settling his head back on the ground, he let out a grunt. ”Ah, yeah. Peachy.” He replied with a chuckle, rolling onto his stomach. Craning his neck back, he forced himself to keep an eye on the leopard; he was too weak to defend himself if the other was hostile. ”You wouldn’t happen to have any water on you, would you?” Leli asked weakly, eyeballing the gourd hanging by the pink leopard’s side.

Heiko frowned, glancing at his gourd too, before sighing. Gently, he set it down on the ground, flipping off the makeshift lid with a swish of his paw. ”Drink up.” Heiko consented, settling down on his hind. Looking around momentarily, he realized he was sharing his water with someone he didn’t even know the name of.
Well, time to right that wrong, the pink leopard decided, grinning at the lion. ”I’m Heiko… I’ll be a member of the Maestros Del Mar soon enough.” Heiko said confidently, though his stomach went weak. Oh, he hoped he was accepted.. ”And you are…?” the leopard inquired persistently.

Oh, thank goodness! Muttering a thanks, Leli nearly dipped his whole face into the water, lapping it up eagerly. Soon, his temperature went down and felt a whole lot better. And, unfortunately, he finished all the water. Moving away, he smiled sheepishly at Heiko. ”Sorry…” He apologized, scooting the gourd away. ”I seem to have finished the last of the water.” Licking up the remaining droplets from his whiskers, he stood up, fur matted with sweat.
Shaking his fur loose, he smiled down at Heiko. ”It’s very nice to meet you, Heiko. I’m not sure what I would of done if you haven’t come around. My name is Leli’takata, but please, call me Leli.” The gentle lion said in response.

Heiko glanced into the gourd, frowning before shaking his head. The lion was sure thirsty. ”No problem.” he replied lightly, taking up the gourd again, using his mouth to swing it over his back.
Stepping back, he watched as the lion, Leli stood up, craning his head back as the large feline towered over him. Of course he’s a giant… Heiko thought dryly, straightening up self-conscious. ”Well, Leli, it’s nice to meet you. I’m glad I came around when I did… You didn’t seem very well off.” Heiko half jested, smiling and taking a step back. Man, was this guy large.

Leli shook his mane once more, grinning down at the other. He then walked to the side a bit, looking around. ”I wasn’t that bad.” the lion protested lightly, smiling, before sighing. ”These rogue lands are way too hot for my taste. If it weren’t for my visions…” Glancing at Heiko, he left that part unfinished.
”I usually don’t venture on my own. I usually have my companion with me…” the burly line sheepishly stated, before giving a crooked smile. ”I suppose I’m lucky you happened upon me. Without Pisha here, I seem to have a few nuts loose.” Leli gave a chuckle.

”Too hot?” Heiko laughed, shaking his head. ”It’s spring! This is a fantastic weather we’re having.” the leopard shook his head, sides hurting with mirth. Suddenly, his ears perked up. ”Visions?” He echoed, tilting his head. ”So, you’re one of those seers, yes?” Shaking his head, he adjusted the gourd to a more comfortable position.
”Yea, it’s probably best if you don’t leave without a companion, if you take this weather that terrible.” he advised playfully, rolling his eyes upwards. ”Only a few nuts loose? I would say a lot, if you persisted forward even though you knew you couldn’t tolerate the heat.” Heiko pointed out.

Leli gave a closed mouth smile at the other about his visions. No, he wasn’t going to indulge the leopard about them; it was something he really didn’t like disclosing to strangers, even close ones. He didn’t know why he even mentioned it… he was most likely still affected by the heat.
Arranging his scarf more neatly around his neck, he glanced back the way he had come from. ”I think it’s about time for me to head home, before I go completely insane.” Leli joked back with a deep chuckle, shaking out his mane over his scarf. ”It was nice meeting you, Heiko. If we cross paths again, I do hope it’s with a more… pleasant situation.”

Heiko frowned when Leli didn’t bother venturing further into the topic about seers, but it was all soon forgotten when Leli began to say his farewells. Watching at the lion adjusted himself, Heiko decided he rather liked the guy; he wouldn’t mind hanging out with him some other time.
Quite amused with the jesting, Heiko nodded in response, before giving a wicked smile. ”Well, I’ll be sure to carry around some water for when that day comes. Too bad I don’t have the vision; that would let me know exactly when you’d be dense enough to venture back into the heat.” Keeping his tone light, he inclined his head. ”It was very nice to meet you, Leli. Definitely, let us cross paths again. Good bye and happy travels!” And with that, Heiko wandered off, heading back to where Lishilo was bound to be.
