Downtown Soragakure, like all other locations, are linked by skyrails. These rails transport everything to everywhere in the village. There are a load of shops and eateries, as well as the villages hospital. It is always busy here.

Hayate yawned and stretched his hands to the sky, sticking his legs out before him. The world was bustling around him, as per usual in this village. People zipped by on the skylines, merchandise flew over head, and children frolicked like maniacs. Everyone had a place to be and seemed to be five minutes late. But not Yate. Today he was going to do what he was best at; nothing. A crowd of people rushed by, one older lady scolding Hayate for him blocking the walk way. He said and pulled his legs him, putting his hands up in a surrendering way. Hayate watched the crowd for a little longer, that was until they came.
Yate~! The girls screeched as the rounded the corner. Hayate jumped to his feet, the fastest movement he's made in months. "Aw s**t." The girls ran through the crowd, cutting through them like kunai through cheese. Hayate looked for escape routes, and saw it through the crowd. The hustle and bustle would help hide his trail. With a surprising burst of speed he ran, dodging, ducking, diving, dipping, and dodging. He could hear them behind him, screeching like banshees. *Damn, why couldn't I be born ugly?* Yate thought to himself as he ran straight towards a wall. Applying a bit of chakra to his feet he scaled it deftly, pushing off at the top and reaching for the edge of a roof. He pulled himself up and looked down at the girls. He shook his head and rolled over, lacing his fingers behind his head and gazing up at the clouds.

Busy busy busy. That's what Soragakure was. Kaze was sitting on the roof of a store, the owners never noticed the shinobis using their roofs as stepping stones to get to wherever they needed to. Of all the things Kaze liked to do, he loved looking at the sky. So wide, vast, and blue. Things have been looking good, he had graduated from the Academy and they were going to be assigned to squads soon enough but for now, they were free to do whatever they pleased. A commotion in the streets caught the young Genin's attention, a flock of girls flew through the crowd and Kaze rolled his eyes, women, he didn't like women at all. Between the girls and a few people was another shinobi, someone Kaze knew. He already could sense the other boy's chakra.
As the other Genin slipped away using the crowd, Kaze giggled. It was Yate, all the girls chased him because of his looks and even though he didn't like girls, who could blame them? He -was- pretty handsome. The boy followed Yate with his eyes and until he saw him settle down on a roof a little bit away. Getting up off his perch, Kaze moved towards Yate and within a few seconds was right in front of him, or rather above him. "Oi, Yate-sempai. Those . . . women after you again?" Kaze stood over the older Genin smirking down at him.

Hayate smiled and nodded his head, not needing to look to know who it was. Hayate had gone to the Academy with Kaze for years, and they had graduated around the same time. He would even say Kaze was a good friend of his. "Ya just can't get rid of them fer nothin'" Hayate said in his odd dialect. It was almost as if he was too lazy to even speak properly. It was something that his mother was constantly harassing him about. You sound just like your father! She would say, shaking her head but smiling. Hayate would always say, 'well if I knew him...', but his mother would never break on that part. Hayate propped himself up on one elbow, opening his eyes to look at Kaze. "I only came out today because it was just too darn nice out. But ya know, ya can't get away from the rush here." Hayate raised his hand to the sky and splayed his fingers, as if he was grabbing the sky. "People gotta keep moving, up and up and up..." He held his hand there for a moment, before letting it fall to his side. Hayate was like that, randomly philosophical.
He sighed and rose to his feet, covering his mouth and yawning. Hayate was indeed a handsome man. He was tall and in shape, much like the rest of the ninja world. He had fair skin, dark hair that he always kept tied back and out of his face, and startlingly light green eyes. He had a strong face and even sported a scar from long ago. His demeanor was easy going, Yate was even always slouching. As usual he wore his green sweater with the short sleeves, fishnet underneath it. Today he chose a regular pair of brown shorts, and accessorized with various ninja pouches. He had his gloves in his back pocket at the moment. Hayate walked over to Kaze and clapped him lightly on the shoulder as a hello. "How's it going with ya Kaze?" He asked, taking in a deep breath and standing at the edge of the building they were on. He was looking, but not for anything in particular.

Kaze smirk shifted into a soft smile, always laid back, going at his own pace, that's something Kaze really liked about Hayate. During his time in the Academy with Hayate, Kaze was the one that took all the work for his friend, and usually for stuff like that the young Genin would've charged people for it but for Hayate, he did it all for free. "Eh, I dunno, I'm just enjoying the day . . . Nothing much to do but train or just lounge around unless you have a hobby you know? So I'm just relaxing." The young boy plopped down next to his friend and put his head on Hayate's stomach, laying down so that they're bodies made a T on the roof. "Comfy pillow you are Yate-sempai." It was no secret, Kaze liked guys, but people were still a bit wary of people like him. He didn't know if Hayate was like that but he definitely had hopes for it.

Hayate did not say anything at first, merely allowed Kaze to rest upon his stomach. He watched a bird circle the sky, and then dive down to catch whatever prey it may have found. The thought of training soured Hayate's mellow, but he knew it was a necessity. He reached down and absentmindedly tousled Kaze's hair while speaking. "Ya know I actually came up with a few ideas for some gadgets I could use fer battle, kinda like how our Kage does." He said, referencing the cybernetic style of the Sorakage. Hayate had already learned some pretty cool stuff from the guy, and even looked up to him a bit. He in no way envied him though, being a Kage was probably way too much work for him anyway. "We could always look around fer some work or somethin'. I'ma need the ryo for the materials anyway." Hayate said, pulling out his sketch book and flipping through the pages. Yate was incredibly good at drawing, though it pretty much came with his family. They were natural cartographers, with an insane eye for detail. His skill transcribed over to art. There were a number of random pictures, people Hayate watched from afar, the corner of a street crammed with a bunch of shops, skyrails, birds, clouds, and more. But then there were a series of blueprints on the last pages. Hayate pointed to the first one, a set of metal gauntlets. "I'm thinkin' I could seal this to my wrists and summon 'em in battle. Then I could just use a bit of chakra and shoot out some blasts or somethin'." He turned the page and then the rotation of the book, showcasing two gloves. "One has a grapple hook thing I could use, and the other a sorta plane, well the wings at least. I could glide like a bird with this." He turned the page and flipped the book once more, now showcasing a detailed blueprint of a pair of boots. "With a bit of steampower I could make these boost me around like a rocket or somethin'." He said, closing the book and placing it back in one of his pouches. It was clear Hayate was a dreamer. He sighed once before closing his eyes again. "But I need the cash first." He said almost sadly. That meant he'd have to get off his behind and actually do things.

Kaze blushed a little when Hayate tousled his hair and as he heard what his friend had to say he smiled. Definitely a dreamer but these dreams were possible. Kaze looked at the pictures and gasped, he had seen Hayate's pictures before but every time he saw them, it was breath taking. "Actually . . . it's really possible to make any of these . . . and I know you hate to work so I'll help you out the best I can. I'm pretty sure we can scrape together enough cash to get what you want." The Genin put a hand on Hayate's own hand. "Don't worry alright? We'll make it happen. I promise you that. I mean not like I have any use for cash, unless I made plans like yours . . . maybe an Elemental Amplifier but that's really about it." Kaze resumed his position of using Hayate as a pillow, looking up into the cloudy blue sky.

Sliding on the skyrails, Keiji looked bored with his hands in his pockets. He heard a voice to his left as he had for the past three days around this time. A small girl in a white dress flew next to him as his rode the skyrail. She made no sound that could be heard by another outside of Keiji, who felt sorry for her. She was close to her time on Earth and would be claimed within a couple of days. Her story was a sad one, something about a mother dead a childbirth, but there was nothing he could do for the child except wait; nature would take its course soon.
Putting his hands behind his back, he turned around, shifting his feet to continue grinding on the rail. Below him were Hayate and Kaze, two fellow genin of Soragakure. It was Keiji's job to know the people he took residence with, even if they did not know him. He smiled softly as he saw the sight of what seemed to be the daily routine; poor girls did not seem to understand Hayate's... preferences.

Hayate smiled at Kaze's promise to help him. That was good, he hated being bored and missions made him bored. He probably had the lowest mission count of all time counting his Academy time. It was not because he was incapable, Hayate actually specialized in 'seeing' things and finding stuff. Most missions his rank were some sort of scavenger hunt. He was just a lazy a**. "I'll scratch yer back if ya scratch mine. Help me get the cash and I can help design ya some amplifier." Yate said, looking skyward at the sound of grinding metal. Keiji was another guy that Hayate went to school with. Now they were all genin together. Hayate reached up to rub his chin before waiving it in the air to hail Keiji."Oi! Wanna handle some missions with us? We're looking to scrap some cash together fer some gadgets!" Hayate yelled over the sound of the skyrail, now rising to his feet.

Kaze sat up and looked towards the source of the grinding noise. The Genin saw his fellow classmate, going along the skyrails a little bit above them. Kaze stretched out his body and stood up along side Hayate, he was a full three inches shorter than his friend, he didn't mind though, it felt right being shorter than someone older than he was. he couldn't really put why the reason was though. "Yeah! It'll be pretty interesting you know! And plus we can get it done faster with three people instead of two. The young boy ran his fingers through his mess of black and white hair, straightening out the back of it. There wasn't really much that Kaze wanted, he just wanted to get stronger and show that he could be useful.

Keiji seemed to look and nod at an entity that was not there, then rode the rails needed to get to Hayate and Kaze safely. 'You only live one' was a lie to some, but he was in no hurry to go into another Cycle just yet. Once he landed, his ghostly friend had went away, now to be judged by the Lord of the Otherverse. It felt weird for Keiji not to consider himself the judge, what with the Lord's identity.
His first impressions of Hayate and Kaze are as follows: Hayate is a lazy a**, but has the potential to do great things. He just needs motivations. Kaze was energetic and a little childish, but had good intentions. WIthout speaking, Keiji merely nodded in agreement, He was not busy.

Hayate nodded his head and walked to the edge of the building, sitting on the ledge while he took out a map. The map was filled to the edges and incredibly detailed, marking even the alleyways and random dead ends. It was clear this was the Downtown district of Soragakure. Yate pointed his finger at an open area, better known as the marketplace. "Bet we can find some work here." He said, rolling up the map and pushing himself off the ledge. Hayate landed on an awning and bounced off of it, bending his legs when he hit the ground to absorb the shock. He put his hands in his pockets and began to walk towards the marketplace. It wasn't long before he reached the area. Hayate stood there for a moment, not sure what he should do. Should he hold up a sign offering to do random jobs or approach people and scroll through their speech options to see if there was any work for him? Yate decided to go to the message board and pick a mission. Hayate stood there for a moment, eyes scanning the board. Catch the cat, bring me food, find my item. The missions were redundant and boring. He sighed and scratched his head, looking for something remotely interesting. A smile touched his lips and he tapped the board, grabbing one of the messages from it. He turned and held it up to his companions. "Here we go boys. Looks like we got a gang of hooligans roughin' up people and muggin' them. Says here if we catch them and turn them in we can get a nice reward. We up for that?" Hayate asked with a raised eyebrow, looking from Kaze to Keiji. But before either could answer the village loudspeakers turned on. Hayate tucked the paper into his back pocket and jumped towards a building, using it as a platform to each the skyrails. "Looks like we've got bigger tasks eh?" He said, jumping once more to catch the skyrails. He made his way to the Kage's office, rather slow for someone using the rails.

Kaze followed Hayate to the mission board in the marketplace. He listened to the list of the missions and frowned a little, those were all very simple tasks and it felt more like a to-do list than anything else but he ears perked up when his senior found a more interesting job. Kaze was about to speak when he heard the loud familiar voice of the Sorakage blare through the speakers. "Aw nuts. Well, wonder what the big guy has to say. Must be important though." The Genin jumped into the air pumping chakra into his feet and followed Hayate who had a head start on the skyrails. Kaze loved these things.

A small figure, no more than twelve years old, sat huddled in an alley way, her back to the entrance, back curved over something on the ground before her. Soft mews could be heard from her position. She ran her hand gently over the small animals head, carefully, gently. Almost lovingly. The persona of the child did not fit with this scene in the least. Outsiders would be confused as to why such a terror showed the critter such care. Little did they know how hard she was fighting off the urge to rip its head clean off...
"Rip, rip, rip the thing to pieces. Kill, kill, kill and drink its blood" A tune in a sing song voice invading her mind. If she had slept in the last week it may have won out too. With a heart wrenching sigh she patted it hard on the bum and sent it scurrying off into the gap between two of the buildings, too small for Kirianna to follow. A sense of los pervaded her heart. Gone like everything else in her life. So alone, so lonely. A single tear rolled down her supple cheek. With a sense of sorrow she lay down upon the ground, facing the wall. Soft fingertips scratching absently at the brick there.Soft mutterings now set the tone for her mood.
Hayate had just escaped the hell that is a woman's lust and was strolling through the darkness, hands shoved into his pockets. He had put his shirt back on and regrettably smelled like he had been training all day; because had been. He reached up and removed the tie from his hair, letting it fall about his shoulders. His mother had complained that he looked like a girl when he decided to grow it out. Hayate justified it saying that if he looked like a girl maybe the actual girls would stop chasing him. Unfortunately this style had only made him 'dreamier'. Hayate scoffed at the thought and tied his hair back once more, still unable to tame the wisps that chose to hang about his head. He decided then and there that he was hungry, and angled himself not to his house but to an eatery that would be opened at this time. "It's rainin' men, Hallelujah it's rainin' men..." Hayate began to sing under his breath, humming the rest of the song as he walked.
An odd noise made him stop singing and slow down. There was an odd scratching noise coming to his left down an alleyway. Hayate tapped his foot against the floor three times thinking about the number of horror novels he had read. The blonde bimbo would follow some sound and find her face in the collection of some maniac in the hours to come. He sighed, steeling his resolve and peering into the darkness. His keener than normal eyesight allowed him to see a small girl huddled in the darkness. She was scratching at the brick wall and whispering something to herself. "Hello? Ya need some help?" Hayate said loud enough to catch Kirianna's attention. He began to walk over in her direction, wondering what the hell was going on with her. It wasn't often that there were homeless kids left out on the street. Most were taken in and put into the Academy. He couldn't tell if something was wrong, but he had to check just to be sure.

- Map Sealing: Hayate is able to create seals that affect the world around him through his cartography skill at 1.5x the chakra cost it would take to actually place the seal. He must have already have a map/drawing of the area. If any terrain altering damage is done to the location it renders his maps inaccurate, and he must take time to recreate them.
