The Wild is a huge expanse of forest bordering the mountains and surrounding Yukigakure. Snow seems to be ever present here. These lands of late have been used as training grounds for the ninja of the village.

Kuchiro entered the training ground with the intent to get some work done. He brought with him a total of fifteen scrolls, each with an individual technique. Seven were of non-elemental style ninjutsu techniques and the other eight were of Kuchiro's specialty, the Fire style. The first technique Kuchiro opened was a D-rank technique called Chakra Light. Now, Kuchiro had chosen this scroll, because he knew that missions could involve nighttime requirements as well as having to travel underground into caverns and the like. Having a technique that could offer a source of light would be useful. So, Kuchiro read the scroll and realized it was not quite complicated at all. One would reach out with their chakra, mold a tiny ball and then it would come out to glow the color the user's chakra. Kuchiro's chakra a dark blue, now was resonating before him. The area lit up for about thirty feet, as the scroll said. Kuchiro had learned the Chakra Light. _______________________________________

Kuchiro read the second scroll and saw that it was called Sound Masking. This technique would also be beneficial on missions that require stealth. It was a simple enough technique, focusing chakra to the opponent's ears they heighten the sounds of the surrounding area so to mask the user's own sound. Kuchiro then attempted to use the technique on himself. Performing the stated handseals, Kuchiro then heightened the sound the wind and the sway of nearby trees with snow falling off their sides. He tried to focus on his own sound, and noticed that as he walked he had a hard time hearing his movement crunching the snow. Kuchiro mastered the Sound Masking technique. _______________________________________

The third technique is Secret Information Cards. This technique is designed to map information into cards that can only be opened and closed by chakra. Kuchiro then performed the necessary handseals and used his chakra to form a card. He then imprinted information on himself into the card. As he did so, he mentioned all the details about himself that he could think of. As the card continued to accept the information, he now had a card that was basically a miniature biography about himself. Kuchiro felt he understood the technique thoroughly. _______________________________________

The next technique is an advanced level technique of the Chunin level. It is the Hidden Explosion technique. By focusing chakra outside of the body, a smoke bomb like explosion occurs which doesn't cause damage, but acts as a way to escape. Kuchiro saw this as an excellent technique for missions where his chance of success was limited. Firstly, Kuchiro sat down and focused his chakra with a single handseal. He then attempted to burst it out through his front side. It then failed. Kuchiro then stood up, a better idea in his head on how the technique worked. He ran forward and performed a single handseal, bursting the area around his chest, which went up in smoke. He felt he had mastered the technique. _______________________________________

Another Chunin level technique, Kuchiro now read that it was the Smell Covering Technique. Along with the Sound Masking technique, the Smell Covering Technique would allow one to further hide their location. Kuchiro read the scroll and saw that it involved manipulating chakra to cover the body in a layer. This is airtight and traps all smells within the chakra layer. Kuchiro then found himself a location underneath a tree where its roots were exposed, laying within he attempted to perform a handseal. His chakra moved about him, but he could not create an airtight seal that would keep his smells from being released. He then tried once more, performing two handseals instead of one. His chakra then moved around him and he kept his aroma hidden. He knew his scent was not released, since he was breathing hot and the snow around him did not melt. _______________________________________

The next scroll was also Chunin in rank. It was the technique called Manipulate Advancing Blades. Essentially, this allows one to place tools and then make them hover in the air. They can then be launched at a target. The benefit here is that one can launch many more tools at once than typically launched at an opponent. Kuchiro saw this as an excellent technique to learn, if he felt like launching say twenty shuriken instead of only five or ten. He placed a single kunai on the ground and then performed three handseals. His chakra formed around the kunai, but it did not move. Kuchiro then performed an additional three handseals. The kunai then hovered, before Kuchiro launched it into a nearby tree. He learned the technique. _______________________________________

The final non-elemental scroll was a technique called Chakra Hunting. This technique was particularly useful. However, it was of Special Jounin rank and required more time to perfect. A butterfly had moved in front of Kuchiro and Kuchiro decided that the butterfly was an ideal thing to track. Performing two handseals, Kuchiro attempted to hone in on the butterfly, among the many different chakra points in the area. The place was vivid with life and chakra that went with it. He could not find the butterfly. Kuchiro then performed his two handseals once more, this time locating the butterfly and locking on. He was able to follow it for a few seconds. Finally, Kuchiro then performed three handseals. He located the butterfly and was able to keep up with its movements. He followed it as it moved from the tree and behind some boulders. _______________________________________

The smell of smoke preceded Adreyus, it always did. It was sweet though, a flavored cigar. He trudged through the snow, hands shoved deep into his pockets. "Freakin' snow. Always all over the goddamn place." Adreyus reached one hand up and pulled the cigar from his mouth, releasing some smoke and continuing his trudge. He didn't know what it was about these woods but they were relaxing. If you could get past the constant sound of sparring and training. He popped the cigar back in his mouth and stopped when he noticed a kid in his path. It was always nice to see the youth trying to better themselves. But it always made Adreyus feel awkward. He was around 30 years older than most genin. Adreyus nodded his head at the kid before stopping at a group of kids. He waited for a second, before whistling loudly. "Which one of you kids wants to help out an old timer?" This wasn't the first time Adreyus had been here, and there was always a willing person to aid him. One of the kids raised their hands and walked towards Adreyus. "Alright kid, we're going to start off nice and simple, okay?" Adreyus turned and looked at him, rolling his head around on his neck. He held up two fingers, the signal for this particular genjutsu. "How many you see, kid?" The kid looked at him and held up four fingers. Adreyus nodded his head. "Sounds about right." He said, taking another drag on his cigar.

The first Fire Style technique was the technique called Weapon Coating. Basically, one coat coat their tools on fire. Kuchiro placed out a shuriken on the ground, before performing one handseal. He breathed a flame onto the shuriken, which kept it burning. Then Kuchiro took the now aflame shuriken and launched it at a nearby tree, where the flames would very slowly spread to the tree. Kuchiro walked up to the shuriken and blew on it to put the flame out. _______________________________________

The second technique of the Fire Style scrolls was the Flash Flare technique. It was also a simple technique, but important nonetheless. It was in fact the very first offensive technique, that involved manipulating fire in a particular direction. After performing three handseals, the user then claps and a white flame bursts outward capable of distracting and/or blinding the opponent. Kuchiro then saw a nearby rodent and performed three handseals. He slammed his hands together and a white flame formed, in which the rodent scurried off in fear. _______________________________________

Kuchiro unfurled the third scroll amongst the eight Fire Style scrolls, and saw that it was the Phoenix Flower technique. This fire technique would be sent from the lungs and out of the mouth forming small balls of fire. Kuchiro then performed five handseals and held in his breath, before exhaling. He formed no balls of fire, although he did feel a little bit of heat. He then performed five more handseals, this time he took a second longer as he inhaled, before exhaling five orbs of fire which proceeded to pelt against the nearby trees. For good measure, Kuchiro formed the same five handseals once more, inhaled and exhaled the technique. Ten balls of fire were launched. _______________________________________

The fourth fire style scroll was the Ember Replication. Ember replications followed the typical Replication style techniques, with the exception that upon being destroyed they detonate or can be detonated on command. Kuchiro knew that he would be in a situation in the future where using replications might be helpful. Using three handseals, Kuchiro then attempted to form the Ember Replication. Unfortunately, he only made a regular replication. Then Kuchiro formed another three handseals, this time forming a fully functional Ember Replication.
Additionally, after having mastered the Ember Replication, Kuchiro felt he now had developed Fire-Resistance on an elementary level. This is result of his labor with the previous four fire techniques. _______________________________________

The next Fire Style technique is actually one of the pinnacle techniques. Its mastery signals a true Fire Style artist. The technique is called Great Fireball Technique. The Great Fireball Technique is one that Kuchiro's family the Mistalune often used as a demonstration of strength. Kuchiro then decided it was time to attempt the technique. Performing eight handseals, Kuchiro then leaned forward and with the final handseal, attempted to harness the powerful Fire nature within him and unleash it as he exhaled. Instead, no ball of fire came out. Instead, a puff of smoke had been released. Kuchiro then relaxed himself, knowing the tension that came from this exhausting technique. He performed another eight handseals, reached for his Fire nature, inhaled, then exhaled a small ball of fire. Kuchiro knew he could make it much bigger. Performing eight handseals for the final time, Kuchiro inhaled and exhaled a massive full-sized great fireball, which went crashing against the trees. _______________________________________

Following the Great Fireball Technique, is the Great Dragon Fire Technique. It is in brass tax, simply a flamethrower. Kuchiro saw great potential for this technique, assuming he would be facing a close-range opponent. If they closed the gap between Kuchiro at themselves, Kuchiro could catch them in a spray of flames. Performing four handseals, Kuchiro then attempted to exhale a series of flames, instead he formed a small ball of fire which was a mistake. He then attempted to form four handseals once more. Inhaling, he exhaling a small breath of fire which lasted for only two seconds. Finally, Kuchiro then inhaled deeply while performing four handseals, before unleashing a massive barrage of flames that lasted for a solid minute. Kuchiro could see he succeeded. _______________________________________
