It'd been days since his encounter with that unfortunate Bognotti, so the wounds on his arms were, although still present, no longer painful. There were scabs where the puncture wounds were, and he still had them wrapped in bandages, but they were otherwise no longer an issue. Because she didn't want him breaking all of her prized possessions inside the house, the Mistress instead had him out and about the city, buying foodstuffs, herbs, and other such things for her use. Manual labor out in the garden and the fields was also common, so Ainsley had gotten a bit darker than his usual pale, yellow.
Today was a day spent in the markets once again, but after a few hours the young Orderite grew tired and set off for lunch and a small break somewhere in a quiet portion of a surrounding forest. At present, the boy was leaning against a tree, eyes lazily staring up at another tree's branches and wondering what sort of creature could possibly be nesting there.
"Hopefully not another Bognotti," he muttered with a snort as he ran a hand over his bandages. Lately more and more thoughts of leaving and escaping his current life had been floating around in his mind, but he still couldn't figure out quite how to go about it all. He couldn't simply just leave, now, could he? It'd probably do him a lot more harm than good if he just up and left one night, supposing he could even get out in the first place. He had no money to his name, barely any clothes to take with him, and otherwise no experience in the world on his own.
And so he sat there, mulling over his thoughts, unawares of his surroundings and any pairs of eyes that were possibly watching. A pair of grass-green eyes were holding their gaze from among the shadows, in fact, narrowed slits as they usually were. The man, clad in clothing and armor that were relatively indicative of his line of work in life, stood there, watching the young Orderite quietly. Just watching, for now.

"Alright, Abellio! Today we are going to go for a fun walk in the woods! If anyone asks we are Dovaa!" He told him, paused, blinked, and then laughed, "Alright, well I am. You are Keinling, and either way we are both going to be Ysali in the end so that's neat." At least he sure thought so. Once they got a response to his mother's letter that she sent to the 'Dovaa Sage' that she knew. He was quite excited, wanting nothing more then to become a part of the clan that he had decided upon... but until then he was still stuck at home, still wandering around and playing in the woods, still trying his best not to be seen as anything but Dovaa. So long as he kept his wings under control he really did feel that he could fake it well enough. Given that more often then not that his wings popped up when he was overly excited or scared about something that meant that all he had to do was stay calm. Easier said then done for someone like Junjie.
Trotting alongside him the feathered Abellio gave a crooning sound, seeming as though he were agreeing with everything that Junjie was saying though the part that mattered most of him was the 'fun walk in the woods' part. He was always up for a good walk because that meant that they might find something fun to chase, something delicious to eat, or an adventure to be had! Nothing was better then playing with his best friend and bonded. Just the thought of it made him give a happy, purring sound before he playfully nudged against Junjie.
The boy smiled down at the bright green Keinling then reached out to scratch him on the top of his head, "You're so cute." He said happily, continuing along on the walk before Abellio suddenly went stock still, eyes going quite wide, before the little one started to sniff at the air. It was obvious that something had him quite excited before he tore off forward, dodging around the trees. Junjie's mouth dropped open, wondering if he'd caught the scent of one of the things he liked to chase the most, before he to was racing forward, little did he know that it was not a 'something' but a 'someone' that had Abellio so excited. Something that he wouldn't know until the Keinling was bursting from the underbrush to go barreling toward the blond boy with Junjie hot on his tail. While the boy with the mismatched horns slowed down the moment he realized that they weren't alone Abellio didn't, looking instead as though he were going to try to tackle the other boy instead.
"Ah! Wait!" Junjie squeaked out, taking a couple of hurried steps forward, grabbing up Abellio into his arms, holding tight to squirming Keinling, having caught him a merely moment before he'd pounced. Looking over the Keinling's head he said, "Ahh... S-Sorry about him, he is just a baby and an excitable one at that." He said quickly, hoping the other boy wouldn't take it badly.

It was quiet, of course, until he heard something barrel through the bushes to his left. Ainsley opened his eyes in time enough to push himself back into the tree and bump his head in the process, surprised to see what looked something like a baby come after him, followed in suit by a kid with uneven horns who grabbed for the thing and (thankfully) caught it before it got any closer to him. It took a second for Ainsley to scramble to his feet and make some distance between him and the intruders (or at least he thought they were), then he narrowed his eyes and carefully looked the pair over.
From his appraisal he could tell that the boy was a Dovaa. The horns were enough of an indication for even the dumbest of Orderites to know, but the scales also helped to identify him as such. Ainsley remembered reading about each race in a textbook he'd found lying around the Mistress's house one evening, and while leafing through the pages he came across a passage about Dovaa. This was quite a few years ago, before he was allowed outside of the house at all, so at present he'd seen a fair amount of Dovaa in person - in the markets and such - to know well enough how to identify them without really having to ask for confirmation. He seemed about the same age as Ainsley, though there were probably those who were short for their age and could easily be mistaken for a child. The thoughts amused him, but he kept the smile off his face and maintained a wary, defensive sort of stance a few feet from the boy.
"You don't look dangerous..." he said in a loud-ish voice. It should have been loud enough for the other to hear him anyway. "But I've never seen you around here before. Who are you? And what," the boy continued, poking a finger in the Drakein's direction, "is that?"

Junjie tightened his hold on the squirming Abellio before he slowly eased him down onto the ground, "No jumping on people, Abellio, that isn't how you go about making friends." He told the little Keinling before he turned his purple gaze to the other boy when he commented on how Junjie didn't look dangerous. Giving a little laugh and a smile he said, "I hope not, I don't really try to look all that dangerous unless it's during my battles with dragons." He gave a little laugh before he turned to smile at Abellion, patting the Keinling on the head gently, "Isn't that right, Abellio?" Not that the little one had been around while he was fighting with a dragon but regardless of that fact the feathery green nodded his head in agreement. He seemed to be a sweet, agreeable sort, something always had him relieved.
Looking over at the other boy, listening closely to what it was that he was saying about how he hadn't seen him around here before. Junjie gave a nod of his head, seeing no reason to deny it, "I can say the same about you, I have wandered this forest a lot and I have never seen you either. Do you come out this way a lot?" He asked in a curious manner, wondering if maybe the two of them were wandering the same forest for a while now and only just now managed to meet up. That was some interesting odds he thought to himself, then smiled once more, "I am Junjie, this is Abellio, he is a Ysali Keinling." He said, introducing the two of them to the blond, "And you?"
He really did wonder who this was, where he was from, what he was doign in the forest at the moment. He was so brightly colored that he could only be one of the Orderite! It was exciting, and a little intimidating, to meet up with a pure blood Orderite in such an unexpected fashion. It was the first time that he had, the closest to one that he'd met before now being Erionda and she only had a little bit of their blood running through her veins. Maybe he could learn about the Orderite from this boy? That would be useful information he decided, clasping his hands tightly behind his back to keep his wings under control, not wanting to out himself for what he really was so quickly.

The reaction from the the other boy was enough to convince Ainsley that he posed no threat, so his posture eased a bit from tense to just.. slightly wary. The little dragon creature he was with was still there, and although it didn't seem pose a threat either, considering the boy - who couldn't have been too much larger than himself - was so easily able to calm him down and prevent him from causing a ruckus, however he wasn't all too comfortable being so close to it. Hopefully his discomfort didn't show though; no reason to worry anyone over such a small matter.
Junjie's question, in return, was certainly simple enough, though for all its simplicity Ainsley still had to mull over his answer. If anything he was gauging whether or not to tell the truth, or maybe settle with giving him an answer that was somewhere in between a truth and a lie. "Every so often, but certainly not a lot," he replied when he made his decision. No reason to lie or hide anything either, he just had to pick and choose which truths to give. The boy was barely an acquaintance at this point, and didn't need to know much more than that.
To the boy's introduction, "Ainsley," was his quick and overly simplified (not to mention slightly impolite) reply. Whether or not his introduction was lacking wasn't of much concern to him though. "And what I meant to say earlier," the blonde continued, "was that I don't see many Dovaa wandering about Serenia. I see even less of these...keinlings, as you called him. What exactly are you doing here?"

Every so often, but certainly not a lot... that was an interesting answer Junjie thought to himself before he gave a smile, "I see, that must be why we haven't run into each other before now." He said, giving the other boy a smile. It hadn't been too terribly long since Junjie was allowed to start to wander around for short walks and adventures on his own as it was. Add in the fact that this blonde boy didn't come here often meant that it would be quite easy and likely that they would have missed one another, "Well, you will want to be careful in the woods, alright? There are a lot of Ysali dragons about and they seem to have little to no sense of humor." They seemed to often want a fight even if Junjie wasn't interested in one... they were so hard to deal with.
"Ainsley." He murmured, then gave a smile, "That is a nice name. It's nice to meet you, Ainsley." He said in his ever friendly manner, seeming to relax a bit more. He didn't seem to scary, did he? It meant that he should be able to chat with him easily enough and when the other mentioned that he didn't see many Dovaa wandering Serenia his heart nearly skipped a beat. So he did think him a Dovaa? Wonderful! So long as his wings cooperated today he might get to pretend to be one he thought to himself. He was also certain that being seen as a Dovaa instead of what he really was would make this a whole lot easier then if he would to announce what he was. Glancing at Abellio he seemed to be debating his answer to the question of 'what exactly he was doing here'.
After a moment he figured that the best answer would surely be the honest one, right? But did he want to draw a bunch of Orderite attention to himself and his mother? He didn't want to think ill of Ainsley though and said, "My mother works as a doctor in a small village not far from here." He said, which would explain why he was in Serenia, "Unless you mean what I am doing in the forest... then the answer to that is just Abellio and I going on a walk, hopefully a dragon free one, so that we can stretch our legs, isn't that right?" He asked of the Keinling who gave a crooning sound in agreement to what Junjie had just said.

Ainsley almost snorted at the boy's warning. Dragons? Ainsley had yet to run into one in all his years of meandering through the gold forests of Serenia. Of course, this Junjie didn't look like he'd seen a bit of action with regards to dragons either, so Ainsley chalked it up to stories that the boy was regaled with when he was younger. Probably told to him by some father figure of sorts, the boy continued on assuming; well, it really wasn't any concern of his. He merely offered a plastic smile in thanks for his "words of wisdom" and left that topic at that. No need to keep talking about dragons. At this point in his life he didn't feel as though he needed to worry too much about them anyhow.
"I'm not too familiar with Dovaa," he started to say after Junjie went on with his polite nature. "But I suppose since you're not trying to kill me, as some of my co-workers seem convinced that was what certain Dovaa were trying to do to them before they landed in the Mistress's household, it's nice to meet you as well." Despite what seemed to be nicer words (for him), Ainsley's eyes were continuously scrutinizing the other boy, both a bit curious about his culture and his ways as well as wary of his company. It never hurt anyone to be too careful; Ainsley had never been the overly trusting type so this was to be expected. Of course, he didn't expect Junjie to know that; not that he cared whether or not the other boy was uncomfortable anyway.
As Junjie proceeded to answer his question, his ears perked at the idea of a Dovaa living in the nearby area and working as a doctor. It would certainly be news to him, whether or not she was a traveling physician or not, and it somewhat piqued his interest. He tried his best not to let it show, though it was possible for others to note that he was, in fact, actually interested in what the Dovaa had to say now. While Junjie went on a bit more about what he was doing in the forest, Ainsley formulated another question that he decided to shoot right back at his newfound company once he was done speaking.
"A Dovaa doctor in Serenia?" the blonde questioned, looking a bit skeptical at the idea and trying his best not to hide his interest. "I've lived here my entire life and I've never heard of such a thing. Which village are you talking about? I'm sure my employer would have at least ranted on about it once or twice; she's not too fond of you lot." Then, not wanting Junjie to feel as though he shared the same thoughts as the Mistress and thus quickly close up about the topic, he quickly added, "I haven't dealt with enough Dovaa in person to have a formed opinion of my own, mind, so I have nothing against you or your kind."

Junjie's eyes got a bit wide at that, "Ah... trying to kill you?" He looked more then a little confused by that statement, as though he couldn't quite comprehend the idea of him trying to kill anyone, especially someone that he had just met. He gave a shake of his head and then a smile, "Naw, I am not the sort that goes around picking fights, so don't worry about that." He had no idea if other Dovaa were like that, his mother sure wasn't she was a healer after all and spent her time tending to people. He wondered for a moment if that meant that out there somewhere were scary Dovaa that did want to pick fights and kill people, if so they weren't the sort that Junjie wanted to meet with, preferring Dovaa like his mother and Esmeralda.
When the topic seemed to turn to that of his mother he gave a nod of his head, "She said that it was because the village was so small and so far from the other ones that she settled there. They had no doctor and they needed her. That was some time ago though." Many years, so the fact that he and his employer hadn't heard of her was odd... but then again she didn't really advertise, did she? She served one small farming village and that was it, only rarely going to the big city when she was in need of a rare herb or salve she couldn't grow or create herself. He cocked his head to one side, blinking a couple times, as he spoke of his employer and how the person ranted about Dovaa, not being fond of them. There were a lot of people that didn't like anyone but their own, huh? Kinda sad since he was what he was. This made him realize that just pretending to be a Dovaa wasn't going to open all doors, was it?
"Well, I can assure you that in the case of my mother and myself we aren't bad people." He said finally, giving the Orderite a smile. It was a good lesson to learn he supposed and he'd thank this one for teaching it to him if he didn't think that it would expose him for what he really was. That at least this boy didn't have anything against him or the Dovaa was nice though, it meant that he wasn't going to hassle him or his mother about anything. One hand on Abellio's head the boy did his best to remain as calm as he could, for the moment quite pleased with how well he was doing keeping his wings under control. It wasn't something that would last forever, but he'd do his best. It was practice of sorts for the future in a way since he wanted to be able to fix the problem of his, something he felt only time and practice would fix.
