Inside every witch pulses a spark of mana, called a heart. It is the source of their magic, and the very essence of their existence as a witch. As a people, they are very bound to the old ways of the world, ways that cultivate the land and the lifeforms within it, and live to extend their vast knowledge and ability. It is a rustic way of life, one with its own hardships and conveniences created through use of the varying magic used by witches. However, it is not always an easy life. Witches, though powerful and talented, are hunted, by Spiritus and Majin for sustenance.
Not all witches have the same level of power or ability. There are some who may only ever be good at turning tea into rum, or an orange into a lemon. Some may be gentle and some may live only to fight. It is the witches magic, and how it resonates with others, that upholds their way of life.

★ Appearance
The looks of a witch can vastly differ from witch to witch, usually influenced by their magic, spells they've (accidentally) cast on themselves and could not reverse, and so on. Some may have animal ears and tails, some may have blue skin, some may have dislocated limbs, and others may be trapped entirely as a non-corporeal form, (a ghost!)
★ Magic
Witches create magic and sorcery through the generation and manipulation of mana, the essence of life that flows through a living being. While all living beings have mana to some degree, only witches are capable of generating it and manipulating it at their will. A witches magic can materialize in many different forms, each being unique to the witch who uses them, even if they share the same element. All witches can use magic, though some have more natural ability than others. Generally, a witch will only have one primary 'type' of magic they identify with, meaning if your witch is a Fire Type, they will not be anything more than 'feeble' with ice spells.
★ Life
Witches have a lifespan of about 150-200 years. If a witch loses their heart, they slip into a dreamless slumber for 3 days before finally dying. There is nothing that can stop this fate unless their heart is returned to them.

Majin are said to be descended from Spiritus and Witch cross-breeding. Being a Majin is hereditary, and can skip several generations without manifesting. Though not as strong as a Spiritus, they tend to have better 'adaptive' abilities from their witch-side, and can go much longer between needing to feed on mana or blood than Spiritus do. Like Spiritus, they use touch and emotions in order to take it, like veritable incubus/succubus, and while it only leaves their victim feeling weak or fatigued in most cases, the Majin may suffer from the insatiable urge to take their heart. To take the heart of another increases the Majin's power, but they become known as a 'Witch Eater', one who predates upon witches. In this form, they are as powerful as a Spiritus, but still not quite at the same tier, due to being unable to transform. Most Majin live among other witches completely at peace, though most keep what they are a secret. Those who take many hearts run the risk of utterly being consumed by the power they strive for, as only a pure Spiritus can handle the plethora of mixed power without succumbing to it.

★ Appearance
They are very similar to humans in appearance, only some have their looks affected by their magic. They also have a small pair of dark, bat-like wings on their lower back that they can learn to hide to appear normal.
★ Magic
Same as Witch, only a Majin's magic would weaken if they haven't fed in a long time.
★ Life
Majin can live typically up to 300 years of age, and do not possess a magical heart. However, they are still prone to the same illnesses and physical limitations of humans and witches.

Spiritus are originally descended from Poena Privus; beings of spirit manifested in fleshbound form. Like Majin, they crave to indulge in the mana or blood from witches and humans, and are known to also eat magical hearts, of which they themselves do not possess. Consuming mana or blood allows them to maintain their health and strength, even enhancing it, depending on the person they take it from. To get at mana, they often manipulate it through touch or with their mouth, and are capable of drawing out the magical heart with touch alone, should it be prolonged enough. Those who yearn for blood tend to be the more physical Spiritus. Drinking of a human's blood can light their senses on fire and replenish their energy. Without this sustenance, a Spiritus would weaken, and eventually die.
Many are dark-natured, succumbing more easily to their hunger than others, but there are those who keep it under control, taking only what they need, or only feeding off the bad. There are those who see witches as simply fodder or toys, and those who see them as equals, as friend and family.
Currently, there are three "types" of spiritus. There is the modern Spiritus, those who long ago escaped their wartorn home before it was cursed, or were born recently in the land of light. They live (mostly) peaceably among witches, but still need to feed from them to sustain themselves. Those who willfully consume a witches heart become known as Witch Eaters, and end up hunted for their crime. Then, there are the Past Spiritus: Nightmares and Legions, those caught in the Curse of the Rift, sleeping for centuries in the shadows of Poena Privus.

★ Appearance
Spiritus are humanoid, but are vastly different from others, in that they are intended to be personifications of monsters. (Can be mythological preferably, i.e Medusa, Cerberus, Hydra, etc, but can also use a monster from a series, but only aesthetics. Spiritus do not share complete biology with witches, though they can copulate with them and produce offspring. (Majin.)
★ Magic
Same as Majin, though their magic would be more powerful and enhanced by their monstrous side. They are also capable of transforming into a monster form at their will.
★ Life
It is not known how long a Spiritus can live. It has been recorded that some have lived up to 600 years before they disappeared somewhere, but it is possible they can live even longer.

✥ HEART OF THE RIFT In the Rift sleeps many souls and spirits of ancient heroes and villains, monsters and wraiths. When the Rift was sealed, these spirits were also sealed into a dreamless slumber, but now they rouse, some seeking to manifest bodies of their own, others seeking to satiate their monstrous appetites with manflesh.  ✥ R i f t b o r n(This is an NPC race, which means you can use them in your roleplays, but they are not actual characters in the shop.) Riftborn are an accumulation of darkness, despair, ill-will and bloodlust in fleshbound form. They form in the Rift and in Niflheim, hungering for mana and hearts, and answer only to the strongest of Spiritus, willing to kill and eat any others. They feel nothing but an insatiable hunger for destruction, manflesh and mana, and can only be slain if their head is removed.

★ Appearance
Example
Riftborn can range in size, but are usually the size of a pony to the size of a barn. Their bodies are dark and shadowy, able to manipulate their shape at times, and some may even have multiple heads. They sometimes have eyes, sometimes not, sometimes quadroped, sometimes bipedal or serpentine.
★ Ability
Only the strongest riftborn can use magic. Mostly they rely on their brute strength and destructive ability, and their many rows of sharp, dagger-like teeth to do the job.
★ Life
Nobody wants to study them to figure out how long they live on their own. Those who tried were eaten.
