Sasha had shown him the way but that didn't guarantee him immediate access to the man he'd been looking for desperately. Apparently, something was going on as very serious looking people had pushed past down the halls. He watched them pass while blending into the walls himself. They looked scary. He squinted as Sasha passed through again. He looked puzzled.
Still, he decided to wait... for hours... many hours. Eventually he was kicked outside where he'd set up camp. Any minute now. It was a thought that lulled him into a deep sleep on the infirmary lawn. Needless to say, some passing lifers may have taken advantage of the situation and filled the little deathers hair with various office supplies and plants. Eventually one shook him awake. He was told he could go on in.
Al was elated. Too elated to notice his new cargo.
He rushed to his feet and wasted no time going inside and approaching the door to Rep's room. He hauled back the enthusiasm to knock carefully.

Rep could see.
Despite everything else, despite all the burdens he was carrying around with him and difficult decisions in the immediate future he could see. And that meant he would live. And even if they took everything else away from him, he still had the guys and that meant he would quit. Even if the rest of his spirit was broken, even if he felt hollowed out.
It felt like he was grieving but he didn't even know what he was grieving for.
When Al showed up, he looked up anxiously, expecting it to be someone bringing more bad news, he visibly relaxed when it wasn't a threat.
His face was still a mess, hair tied back completely, with not even a bang out of place, a few rows of tidy stitches held the deepest gouges together and overall he looked small and beaten compared to his usual grand fur-ruffed assertiveness.
"Hey. Don't turn the light on." he said, his eyes were only just getting used to the light again and leaving it on meant instantaneous headaches. "But come in. You look ******** rough."

Al was about to do exactly that when Rep told him not to. He left the light switch alone. "You can see me?" He approached in the darkness, clicking the door shut behind him. Eyes not nearly as adjusted to the dim lighting as he struggled to see how bad Rep looked, "I look rough?" He smiled, taking that as a complement.

Rep couldn't help but smile, even despite the twinges of pain associated with doing so. Al was just, so very naive it was impossible not to find it endearing. "Aye man, you do. What happened to you?" He almost worried that it was to do with sleeping on furs the way he had been, but furs didn't decorate your hair with interesting things.
"And aye, I can see you." he said, and couldn't keep the gratefulness out of his voice for that one.

"Good, I was worried when people were saying... things," he didn't really look all that worried though. He knew Rep could beat a little bit of blindness no problem.
"And um... nothing happened to me, why?" there was a soft jangle of pens against staples that was quickly silenced by the padding of plasters stuck here and there on top of it all as he tilted his head to the side.

Rep gave Al a very serious face before it cracked back into a smile. "You look like your ran a gauntlet of ******** office supplies man. Check the mirror in the bathroom if you don't believe me, you can put the light on in there."
He was surprised that Al actually worried about him, apparently the newbie wasn't as fickle as he might have expected.

Al looked confused before zipping into the bathroom, closing the door, flipping the light on, and shouting VERY loudly, "WHAT?!" There was loud clattering and banging around as he shook his hands through his hair, making a huge mess of the bathroom as he managed to dislodge almost all but the staple barrettes. Those he struggled to see well enough to bend free. He whimpered, loudly, "Ah cannae get em oooot".

Rep looked entirely nonplussed at Al's panic at the things in his hair.
"Come here." he said with a roll of his eyes he quickly regretted - he was still tender as hell. "I shouldnae even be doing this. Making an invalid help you out." He sighed dramatically.

Al flipped the light out and gratefully wandered over to plop his head on Rep's chest for inspection. "I dunnae know who did it," he pitifully stated. "I must've been sleeping."

Rep snorted and promptly turned his attentions to plucking things out of Al's hair with a motherly sort of fussiness, the things he did to retain minions really. "I don't know how you ******** survive on this island man. First rule of Deus. Never ******** sleep where there are people around or can see you. You are lucky you didn't get a face covered with drawn jizzing dicks. Especially if you were anywhere near lifers."

Al leaned in letting Rep sort him out. Lesson definately ******** learned. "Lifers? Like... this place lifers?" Welp, lesson doubly learned. He was guilty as charged.

"Aye. Lifers. They like to like, troll people and s**t. Make fun of them. Especially death hunters man. You are lucky you didn't end up with like, all sorts of stuff done to you." And that was a massive understatement. "Its like I told you, you have to watch yourself."

"Sorry, I think I learned my lesson though. I dunno why I thought this place would be safe," He felt his hair bit by bit becoming more and more free as staples were plucked out.

"Nowhere on the island is safe." He said, "Nowhere off island is safe either. It's why friends are so important man. You got to get like good solid mates around you to watch your back while you can't."
He picked the last of the staples out of Al's hair and flicked it away. "There, you are sorted you daft git. Now what did you come here for?"

Al settled back to scoot his chair close so he could sit right at the edge of Rep's bed to prop his elbows up and rest his head in his hands, "I was wondering where you went! It's been days and I'm kinda... I dunno. What do you do for fun?" He seemed completely oblivious to Rep's condition... which he kinda noticed about now that his eyes adjusted but... well... so?
