This was her second vernture out into the forest and to be honest she wasn't entirely sure why she was venturing out again. The young girl with her fiery red hair was dubious that a feral drakien would save her once more, her encounter with 'D' had left her baffled and unsure since...the other one that had been hunting her had not seemed nearly that intelligent. Still it hadn't been killed by D merely chased off which meant the dragon that had saved her must be stronger or at least more intimidating to that dragon.
This was something she had never considered before, if you weren't strong you could fool the enemy into thinking you WERE strong, perhaps if you could bolster enough attitude you would be able to be the winner in the end. Tilawen looked back on her memories of Burrom fighting and realized that he too had played that card many times when they had been out numbered or if he thought the opponent was stronger than he could handle. An enlightening discovery as she had always just thought her father was purely stronger than his opponents.
Some part of her was disappointed by this discovery, after all he had always seemed the unbeatable type but now she knew he was more crafty than just brute strength. Fiddling with a long walking stick she had picked up she had been running her hands over the smooth bark wondering just how it managed get that smooth when it happened. A snarl was her only warning.
Half turning the girl was wide eye'd and surprised to see the same ysali dragon she had come across before. Was it intent on hunting her? Perhaps it was annoyed it had been chased off by its prey before and now finding her again intended to finish the job. Tilawen at first was going to flee, what else could she do? Instead though she held her ground staff in hand trying to look as intimidating as possible.
This of course only ...incurred a strange look from the drakein before it gave almost a laugh and took a swipe at her. So much for looking scary.
Tilawen ducked and this time in a more bold fashion took a swing with her stick and met the dragon's arm. The stick bounced harmlessly off the tough scaled hide of the creature before her sending jolts up her arm and almost causing her to drop her new 'weapon'. Another sound from the drakein, it sounded amused and was quick to take several steps forward to lunge at her with its teeth.
A normal person may cry out in terror but Tilawen said nothing although her mind and body was filled with fear she felt as if she could throw up. Dodging to the side she did as she had in their previous encounter. Run. She could never out run the drakein but she would try and least hide from it. The young girl counted count on fate to have D show up miraculously and save her again.
The world was a panicked blur the sounds of her crashing through the bushes were echoed by a dragon smashing through them behind her. It was gaining even if she was more nimble than it. Her only saving grace...was a stumble she hadn't anticipated the rocks she had started to climb through would have a narrow ledge. Falling down into it she was just the right size to fit between the two slips of rock.
Leaves strewn in her hair her bottom now quite sore from her landing she looked up to see the drakien fly over the gap above her and listened as she heard it skip to a stop obviously confused as to where its prey had gone. Holding her breath she looked to and fro and finding a little alcove carefully and quietly moved over to it to hide under.
Who knew how long she stayed there, afraid to move or breath even and alert the dragon of her whereabouts. Even after she heard it move off bored and tired of searching for her she still waited until the regular sounds of the forest returned. Creeping out from her hiding spot she was happy to find that she wasn't trapped down in this spot it lead out to a small pound and even getting a little wet was better than being dragon food.
Although dirty she was for the most part unharmed as she headed back for home.
