Dohi was in training to become the next alu'nadi for her clan, and though she knew better, she was a girl. And she loved to gossip. Her siblings had more freedom to snoop out and find some gossip as she was training, but her sisters seemed to enjoy sharing what they found with her. Skan always dismissed it as a girl thing, and Muujiza didn't seem to think it was too harmful. So, at the moment Dohi was snooping around, her crystal green eyes hunting for her sister Yinehi.

The older she got, the closer Yinehi became to joining the hunt officially and, so far, all of her training just proved she was clumsier than she thought, imagining it to be a side effect of getting taller. She was afraid to look too closely at a new tattoo a recent misadventure in hunting lessons had earned her.
Today had been a good day, though, and it put her in a good mood as she wandered around after practice, trying to eavesdrop on other clan members. There certainly weren't many other sources of entertainment and excitement. She was distracted in a busier area of the clans current camp, completely unaware that anybody was looking for her.

Sometimes it was frustrating being part of such a large family. So many of them looked alike! Well, sort of. At least trying to find the green-coated members of her family were easy, but not the soft yellow that was Yinehi. She blended in only too well, and it was hard for the darker adolescent to find her.
"Ah!" There! She looked close enough to realize that yes, that was her! With a slight bark of laughter she trotted over to her, eyes blazing. "Yinehi!" It was obvious that she had an excitement in her frame, but it clearly wasn't something that she wanted to burst out in public. "You free right now?"

Yinehi was fixated on a strange pair she wasn't familiar with, assuming them to be a couple that joined during the last festival. She couldn't hear their conversation and she couldn't read lips, but in her head there were plenty of possible conversations to go over that kept her out of her own reality until suddenly Dohi called her name. With a jump, Yinehi looked to her sister with wide brown eyes- and then relaxed.
"You startled me!" she said, smiling and tilting her head as she realized her sister's excitement, "Yes, I'm free. What's up?"

Dohi's eyes glanced around, and though no one was paying attention to them right now, that didn't mean that it would change. "Well, I kind of wanted to talk with you, get your opinion on some things I've been hearing. I just...don't want ti to get out. Yet. I bet if we move just a bit away no one will really think it a big deal."
There was still a little smirk on her face, but a lot of it was because she couldn't wait to tell her sister! Father had let some things slip, and Dohi was not going to let this news get swept under the rug.

The more excited and sneaky her sister looked, the more intrigued Yinehi became. Even before she knew what was going on, she joined in the shifty glancing around them. Nobody was paying them much attention, though she knew if anybody noticed the suspicious looks that might change fast. She had no idea what was coming but she was happy to play along.
"Oho!" she grinned, "You definitely have my attention now! Let's go."

Now that they were in the clear, Dohi couldn't help herself. "So Father was talking to Grandfather, and I guess they're really concerned about some of the other nvwati in the clans. So much so that they're planning on training new ones themselves!" This was shocking, since...well, it wasn't all that common, but perhaps everyone had taken a lackadaisical tone towards their duties, because life was so good right now.
"I don't know if they meant for me to overhear it, but its proof that they're worried about something."

Yinehi perked up as the conversation began with mentioning father and grandfather, that almost always led to something extremely interesting. It certainly explained why Dohi was determined not to be overheard if they could help it.
"What! Really?"
Despite it being a very simple, direct piece of information, it was hard to process all in one go. She immediately thought of their uncle, the bird clan's nvwati- but then she realized Dohi said other clans. And then she tried to imagine the other clans as she saw them at the festival, but she couldn't clearly recall any of the leaders. She had been so focused on meeting other youth and then they were all distracted by the Jini-msemi.
"That sounds like a really big deal," she said thoughtfully, "I wonder what brought it on. I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about the other clans."

Dohi nodded. "I assume its because they're lazy, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that to anyone else but you." Yinehi was like the most trusted sister ever, and Dohi appreciated that. It made it all the more fun to swap stories of what they overheard, though any of Dohi's information normally came from her father.
"I don't know when they might start doing this, but man, can you imagine? I'm sure not everyone will be too thrilled, though I can't feel too sorry for them. We all need a good, efficient nvwati in each clan." Her own Uncle was ok enough, but Dohi knew that they at least needed to set up an apprentice at some point.

It was a bold assumption to say the other clans were lazy, Yinehi might have laughed if she didn't have some understanding of the gravity of this kind of situation. She wasn't training to be alu'nadi but she knew enough. She wrinkled her nose thoughtfully.
"Everybody pretty much just does their own thing except for the Festival, right?" she said, "When was the last time the wanidasti had to step in and make changes in clans outside their own?"
She paused.
"How do we keep this a secret!"

Dohi hadn't thought of that. Her eyes widened for a moment as she thought about it. She narrowed in close to her sister, almost as if she was afraid to admit it. "I don't think the wanidatsi has stepped in like this since....the migration."
Things were getting serious, and Dohi didn't even think that far ahead. "Ohhhh, I don't know. I can't imagine Father keeping it a secret forever. As soon as he makes an official move, everyone will surely know!" And that might create worries about the stability of the entire pride, especially with ex-rogues.

Yinehi stared thoughtfully at the ground as Dohi started sounding more worried. It was exciting to be one of the first to know this kind of information, it just wasn't the same kind of exciting with good news. But was it really bad news?
"Father must know what he's doing, especially if Grandfather is helping," she said slowly, carefully reminding herself of the one thing hopefully every member of the pride knew. Her tail swayed excitedly as she tried to think it through.
"How are we going to know how the other clans really react?" she said, blinking, "Well, you might have an easy time finding out. You have to tell me!"

"That's true, I might find out...." she pondered, tapping her paw on her chin. "I think if Father ever brings it up, I'll see what I can get out of him. He probably won't even realize what he's saying, since he's so used to talking to me anyway," she said with a wink. "Besides, I'll have to know as future clan mother, and I'll need you to help me not....go crazy from whatever it is that's happening!"
Dohi laughed, easing a bit of her stress and worries on how the other clans might handle this...if anything even happens.

She was grinning again, watching Dohi tap her chin and informing her of her job to help fend off insanity. Yinehi hopped closer to nudge her sister affectionately.
"You can count on me!" she said brightly, "This is big news, I wonder when everybody'll find out!"
