XXXXX◤ Ƞaicul's footsteps muffled upon the cold stones beneath him. The echos of his softened steps nerved him. It was the very first day of school and yet no student or teacher was in sight or heard. His fingers intertwined with each other through his hair and followed back to the nape of his neck. Why wasn't there anyone here? His breathing quickened. Where did they go? Where did the crowds go? Did they run away from the sight of him? He covered his eyes and plumped himself down on the bed, shaking. That atmosphere of quiet, chocking, emotional pain was creeping and silently sucking on his body. His heart felt like it was about to burst into millions of pieces from the stillness. "Lillis... Lillis... Lillis..." He whispered bringing his body closer to his core. "I-I-I'm scared... R-run b-back t-to me..." Naicul begged not knowing if she could hear him. He didn't want to be alone again. The things in the dark would come and gobble him starting from his eyes. Oh the thought made him shut his eyelids tightly. They were going to eat him. No, no more eating. ◢XXXXX

Lillis reflected on the student's criminal record thoughtfully, going over his potential medical condition, both mental and difficult. It crossed her mind how silly it seemed to guess out how a student would lash out in class or in the halls. Scenarios played themselves in her head. Was he, would he, be trouble? A minuscule hum from her admitted to some disapproval. She placed the folder down, allowing the papers to slide over one another. The desk was a collection of medical papers and student histories. The first day of school was always a headache. She removed her glasses and placed the gently on the table, rubbing her temple in frustration. How long had she been doing this? 16 years? 16 years ago, it was much harder, and so she made mistakes. Now, it's so easy that she made mistakes. Another glance at the fine print and a groan escaped her lips. The first day of school was never worth waking up to.
Slim hands collected each sheet of paper, placing them in their respective folder and stacking them. A loud noise from the next room interrupted her work, and Lillis looked at the door in surprise. Suspicion creeped into her body and she felt like a deja vu moment was about to take place in the little infirmary that she had inhabited the years before.
A voice came through the crack of the door and Lillis spun from her table to rush into the room before the owner of the voice did anything. Opening the door, her eyes landed on a dark figure that stood at the center of the room. A warm feeling took over her heart and her motherly instincts kicked in. Slowly, as to not scare him, her pulled at his sleeve to grab his attention and pulled his head down with an arm around his neck.
"It's alright, nothing will get you." Her voice was soothing, training as a mother and nurse figure kicking in and doing it's work. "Nothing will get you..." She repeated again, a little louder.
Lillis was used to this. It was cute, albeit worrying whenever Naicul got like this. Troublesome, but manageable. She smiled in his face to see if she could snap him out of his nightmare fling. "Come on, it's the first day! Don't want your students to see you like this, now would you?"

XXXXX◤ Ƞaicul's fear ravaged it's claws into his mind as he began to taste the blood of his own, trickling down his throat. When will it stop? A sudden tug of his clothing, broke open a gap of light in his mind. His ear flickered like a hunting dog who suddenly caught a sound of prey. A voice, he so loves to hear, strung it's melody and the fear washed away, leaving the enchantment wavering gracefully. He glanced up to see his mystifying Siren and wavered a small smile. She was beautiful yet again, engulfing his very vision. Naicul leaned his head lower to the side of her ear and whispered in a child voice, "Good morning, Lillis." His smile widened and took a thought to think of an answer. He didn't want to make the students see him like he was. He had to be strong because Father told him so. Naicul lowered back to her ear and giddily said, "No, Father wouldn't want that. He doesn't like seeing weak people." A sudden thought then hit him from continuing the thinking of students. "Will the children be here?" Naicul asked smiling. "It's been a while since I've last seen them." ◢XXXXX

A glance towards the hall proved his point. No one was there yet. That, or students were yet to be seen. She didn’t doubt that some had already arrived, perhaps waiting in the courtyard for other students to arrive. What was the use of parading into an empty school? Sometimes, it even caused mischeif between some of the ethereal entities there. Faeries, brownies, ghosts. It crossed her mind as hilarious. Her first few months as a Nurse was horrifying, until she helped the Queen of the fairies give birth to a little Prince. It stopped the fearies from bothering. A chain reaction than occurred as the Brownies lost interest and she learned to follow the Ghost’s patterns. Of course, they never appeared when there were crowds. They liked to keep their matters up close, alone, and definitely personal.
Lillis looked back at the matter at hand. His whispering into her ear caused a chill to roll down her spine. He pushed him away a couple of inches, as to keep from pinning him where he was. Of course, that was albeit impossible. School was about to start and she couldn't be playing around. "Naicul, of course it's been a while. They were all on break." She stepped away from him and grabbed a chair. "They will arrive late, as they do every year. When you aren't human, you just tend to loose interest as you grow old. Hence, they don't care how late they arrive." She remembered a Necromancer that had pranced into his classroom a month before school ended. Somehow, he had managed to move on to the next grade level. Now, he was a Silver. Her blue eyes directed themselves towards the hall again. It was oh so empty. Usually, at least two students would be in her office.
At the mention of Naicul's father, she sat up straight. "Doesn't matter what he thinks. He gets his panties in a bunch all the damn time anyways." She leaned forward, hinting a 'don't tell him I said that' tell-tale, smile, and continued. "He's full of weaknesses! Trust me, I know." A gruff laugh. "Hell, I'm full of weaknesses. Though he never ceases to chastise me, he loves me, all and all." Though, the same couldn't be said about Naicul. Say, where was this acclaimed 'father' anyways?

XXXXX◤ Ƞaicul felt the sharp pain of rejection stab his chest as he looked down and pouted. Lillis must have hated him to have pushed him away. Naicul slipped his long pale fingers onto her hand gently and squeezed it. He didn't want to be pushed by her again so he laid the back his head on her lap. "Father loves you very much." He whispered. "I love you very much." He tangled his fingers with hers. "I love how your hand fits into mine." He mumbled and rubbed the back of her hand against his cheek. "I love how soft your skin is..." Naicul closed his eyes and pecked her hand. "And I love how you always hold me." He whispered and laid her hand on his chest with his on top of hers. "If I had a breathing heart, you'd make it beat and feel warm." He whispered looking up at her eyes. "But... You already make me feel warm... Just like right now." ◢XXXXX

Lillis stared in surprise at Naicul's tenderness. It wasn't unusual for him to say such things, but it felt like the first time each time. He was just...to cute. Much to cute. She squeezed his hand, staring at his pale features before laying her free hand on his head, rubbing it slightly. "I love you too, darling." With a warm smile, she kissed his forehead, his cheek, and then his lips. She withdrew, smiling happily. "Sometimes, I just can't resist you." If someone had heard that, that certain someone would be very pissed. "This is a secret between you and me, only! Well, just make sure Father doesn't know, got it?"

XXXXX◤ Ƞaicul blushed and nodded quickly. If his savior knew, oh he would have to go into that place. He shuddered at the thought and sat up. "I need to check on the students." He mumbled and got himself out of the bed with his feelings wanting to get back to kissing her... Along with other things. Naicul leaned down to kiss her forehead and smiled. "I'll see you later, Lillis." He hummed. "Hopefully very soon. Bye." He said sadly and exited the room and into his office.

======= ☠ ======= Lucian walked inside of the infirmary only bumping into the headmaster. He wore a scowl as the man just continued walking away. Damn, boss. His shoulder rolled back and a sharp pain seared in. A wince he made and grabbed his left shoulder. If only he hadn't done any ruckus magic last night, he wouldn't have been here in the infirmary. "Hey Nurse." He barked leaning in the doorway seeing her in that rolling chair of hers. "Mind fixing my arm? I'll need it for the rest of my life." His sarcasm went. Oh it hurt him when he did this but... That headmaster was in the same room as the nurse, all alone. Who knows what they did in this very room? He cleared his throat and approached her in a tall stern manner. "Well? Hurry up and see what the hell is wrong with my shoulder."

Lillis frowned deeply at the Magics teacher, her mood clearly dispelled. She sighed, fixing her glasses so that they propped correctly on the bridge of her small nose. "It wouldn't kill to be nice in a while. To me, or the Headmaster." She rolled the chair around so that it faced the desk. There was a desk in there, and a desk in the back room. Currently, she wasn't up to helping Lucian. "Mr. Steel," She started sourly. "For whatever reason you were using your arm..." She looked at him over her glasses. "No matter how...inappropriate or stupid the reason...you have to take care of yourself. You're getting old. But you are still no where near being old enough for retirement. You will need your body until then to satisfy the student's learning needs!" But then, she cut all the formal talk and directed him towards the bed. Walking around him, she grabbed his arm and hoisted over the opposite shoulder, and pulled harshly. A little pop sounded, and then another, much larger one. His arm was extremely stiff. Ugh. "What have you been doing?" She went behind him and pulled his elbow further out. No complaining, she thought. Don't complain.

======= ☠ ======= Her question made his frown deepen. The woman he loves with another man alone in the infirmary for who knows how long doing whatever it could be. "How can I be nice when-" A sudden shock of pain reigned in his body and he yelped, almost jumping out off of the bed. "MERLIN'S BEARD, WOMAN! Are you trying to rip my beautiful arm off?" He barked. "You could have at least told me so I could have prepared myself mentally." After calming himself down for a moment, he cleared his throat, wincing at the pain she was causing. Ha! Like that's the first time. "I was getting things ready for the school year last night. The whole construction of a new ground for some magic training than that room we have." He replied, making a pitched groan. "I guess I pulled my arm in a wrong way when I was trying to tame some... Beasts." Oh taming those trolls, bugs, mice, rats, frogs and all of the likes. If only that little pet store didn't ask him for help, he would have been sleeping. Lucian groaned again then winced from another wave of pain.

Lillis smiled wickedly, Lucian not being able to see her from his position in front of her. She gave him another teasing pulled to the elbow, flattening her front against his back so that she could reach easier. He was bracing himself for the pain now, and it made it harder for her to pull. She tried again. "It's just stress on your arm, so don't worry about it. It won't last." She groaned. "Especially if you struggle like this." She rolled her eyes at his comments.
"This is your fault. You could have said no anyways." Not like your good with animals anyways.She giggled. Maybe that's why they were so hard to handle. His cold front was no good when handling creatures. How many times did she have to tell him? "At least it's much better than helping the Combat teacher. He would have ripped your arm off." She finished, taking her arm off of his. She shifted her weight so that now they were facing each other. "Take better care of yourself. It would be bad for me if you didn't." She gave a smile that seemed to make fun of him.

======= ☠ ======= Lucian winced and groaned for a while. He'd have to endure the torture she was giving him. Once he was from her clam hands, he windmilled his arm feeling better than he had before. Little tweaks of pain from the moving but other than that it was good. He took a deep breath and out with his eyes looking up at his arm. "If I said no, then who else would have had helped them? They're our providers and we're also their providers." He answered and sighed deeply. "And that Combat teacher just needs help with brains." He murmured as he looked over to her. She was still young looking as ever but when she had her glasses on, it gave her that seductive teacher look. Oh how he teased her without knowing it. "You're a nurse. You can always take care of me." Lucian grinned and smacked his lips against hers quickly. "Now, is there anything you would like to say, Mrs. Shallow?"

"You're right." She murmured. "He's more brawn than brains, unlike you." She smiled, eyes closed and head tilted to the side. The sudden contact between his lips surprised her though, and she pushed him away, as much pain as it gave her to do so. "Students can't see this!" She said. Her eyes side glanced towards the hallway. Students have yet to appear. Quickly, as if she were to get caught, she give him a second kiss. It lasted longer than she had wanted to. When pulling away, she returned to her position as a nurse. "Yes. Don't lift your arm very high for today. I might have whispered a little spell while doing that, to prevent the muscle from stiffing to much." Then she pouted her lips, knowing that he hadn't wanted that. "How...is Solstice? He doesn't come to see me anymore." Her eyes drifted to when he would come and help her all the time, but those days were gone. He hand't been doing that since the second day of summer.
She unknowingly stared down.

======= ☠ ======= Lucian widened his eyes by her sudden push. "What the f-" Then an abrupt kiss cut his sentence off. Once the kiss was over, he blinked more than usual, stunned by her sudden act. Who knew that she had the guts to do that? He cleared his throat getting back to reality to the sound of his son's name. "He uh... He's... Uh um..." He tried getting back to his words when he saw the direction of her eyes going down. Confused and curious, he followed her sight of view and found out where she was so interested in. "Well... He's um... Fine..." He managed to say, trying hard not to let her see anything that she wanted to see. It would be troublesome if a student came in at the moment or even worse, the Headmaster. No one would want the supposed husband of the nurse to come strolling in the room to see what she was doing with the Magics teacher. "How's Lucas and Elizabeth? First day here, am I right?" He asked and cleared his throat to catch her attention.
