Drawing a deep, fortifying breath before she grabbed the ladder to climb up into the large tree, Erionda tried to push down her embarrassment as she told herself for the hundredth time that there wasn't any way that anyone knew what she had dreamed. She hadn't been weak in wishing her parents were still alive, still looking after her. She was starting to really hate the forests of Serenia. Especially compared to the comforts of home. Part of her mind cautioned her against being so selfish, if she moved out of bounds or made people hate her. The fate resting before her would not be kind, and she would have to spend her life living as she currently was.

Shifting her position to dangle her legs over the tree branch, Rio gazed down at the forest floor. A perfect opportunity to spy the world around her, and catch sight of a Ysali dragon before it could spy her. That, she hoped, would give her the advantage and possibly allow herself to finally win an orb of her own. Pale lavender eyes scanned the world below her. She had been stalking the same circumference for the past three hours. Well, three hours by guessing at the position of the bright light in the sky.

Clearing her throat as quietly as she could Erionda shifted. Her gaze towards a shuffle in the trees slightly to the right. Her heart jumped with excitement. The footsteps didn't match the pace she recognized Uassae or Lanzecki to have. Her only other option was a dragon.

Smiling as her eye's fell on the dragons green twisted muzzle. Pulling her legs up to her body, the young Hybrid moved into a striking position. Her fists clenched tightly around a small rod she had made. Jagged rocks poking out from the sides. Narrowing her eyes as she patiently waited for the dragon to move below her Rio tensed.

Once the dragon was below Erionda jumped from the branch aiming for the dragons head and missing. A surge of adrenaline pulsed through her veins as Erionda rolled to the side. Struggling to her feet. She had lost the element of surprise. Fearing for her life, Erionda pulled herself strait and bolted as quickly as she could to whatever direction the dragons tail lay pointing.
