Everything was still so amazing, and Sap still had no idea why.
It just was, and honestly that was good enough. Who cared about the why, when there was MOSS and PLANTS and TREES and stuff?
She knew that she liked plants, and that bit of knowledge was comfortingly pleasant enough for her to have pretty much camped out in the gardens.
The humanish memory fragment wanted to plant things, to be honest, but she wasn't sure who she should ask for seeds or whatever she was supposed to use, so instead she busied herself keeping weeds from choking out the beauty. Some weeds were beautiful, and those weren't actually weeds when they were alone, but it pained her to see them kill other plants. Clearly, this was a wild garden and Sap liked wild things like this. She supposed she liked it anyway.
But there were some things that you just had to do to keep it healthy.
Like weeding. Which she was doing.
Nobody had asked her to. It was the one thing that she knew, with certainty, she could do and knew how to do.

"Out you stupid..." she pulled at a particularly stubborn weed that was menacing a lovely flowering bush- she knew it would flower, just as she knew that what she was pulling out was a weed. She didn't know their names. She just couldn't recall. "Ah!" the weed gave, finally, and she fell back on her butt as it released it's hold on the earth. She laughed. She liked the dirt, and falling on her a** was surprisingly fun, as was the strain in her arms and back.

She looked for the next weed to pull...

Silly aoidei.

Caelia had been wandering the garden in search of birds where she stumbled onto something completely different - a woman pulling plants out of the ground. This was, of course, curious enough for Augury to decide to investigate.

She would stop and tilt her head a bit to the side. "Why are you pulling the plants out ?" An innocent question, really.

If Sap had any idea that children with wings and odd eyes and feelings of power were in any way unusual, she might have reacted more appropriately to the young god.
But, frankly, gods had been everywhere as long as she could remember, which was maybe a couple of weeks. A couple of AWESOME weeks.
"Oh! hello there!" she got herself from her butt to her knees, not even bothering to dust herself off. Why? She didn't see the point, if she would only get dirty again!

"I'm pulling out the plants that aren't very pretty or very nice." she said, looking for the next weed to yank away, "They don't like to share. So I have to get rid of them so they dont take everything away from the nice plants..." she bent down to look at a beautiful flowering plant, the likes of which not even her subconcious notmemory could define.
"Like this one, I think....?"
For some reason, the explanation triggered a little spark of familiarity, which reminded her. Had it been explained to her as a kid? Or something like that? Ahhhhh, so much she didn't know, so much to find out! The world was full of possibilities- it was wonderful!
Which reminded her!
Introductions! She loved them!
"I'm Sap, I think." she wasn't very sure about that, but she held out a dirt-and-chlorophyll-covered hand anyway. Really, dirt meant nothing to her.
"What about you?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It was certainly a good thing, because Caelia was not used to people reacting strangely to her. After all, the people of the market knew exactly who she was, or at the very least what she was. Being seen with her mother, or her father's servants, certainly helped bring the notion that she was a goddess all of her own.

A goddess indeed, in only on the tinier side of the spectrum.

Plants could be bad ? That was certainly new to her. But then, all she knew of plant life was what her uncle had told her about, what seemed forever ago. "That's not nice of them, to be mean to the nice plants." Honestly. They should all share, right ? Mom always said sharing was nice, and Kyrie and Isidore always were happy when she did.

Caelia certainly did not mind getting dirty herself, so the offered hand would be taken without hesitation. That's what people did when they met ! She saw it all the time, and doing it herself was making her feel especially grown up. "Im Caelia !"

Though, something Sap said stood out to her. "You're not sure ?" Well. That seemed strange. Why would she not be sure what her name was ? "Sap is a pretty name. I like it."

Zero Dream
Sorry for taking so long!

"Yep, so I have to be very mean to them. That way they know better." Actually, they died, but dying wasn't nice so Sap decided not to think of it that way.
She grinned lopsidedly.
"Cae-lia. It's fun to say!" she commented, thinking a moment.
"Well, I don't know if it's my name or not, but it's pretty, so I guess it can be!" she giggled. "Ooo, but what if I have a different name somewhere else? Wouldn't that be fun?"
She knew she probably didn't, but if she did then maybe she'd find out something new and fun when someone called her by a different name!
"Wanna help me make the plants be nice to each other?"

The idea that it was mortals who named what the believed in and that Sap had no reason to have many names did not occur to her. "Caelia is the name my mommy gave me."

"Sure !" She was certainly willing to help with anything, as long as it did not involve sitting still. "How do we do that ?"

Zero Dream

"Really? Well you believe in me, and I believe in me, and you like Sap, so Sap I am!" Wow! It made perfect sense! She felt proud of herself for declaring that.
"Ooooo!" Plants temporarily forgotten! This little winged pretty person was more interesting at this moment! "You have a mommy?" she knew... sort of... what a mommy was. Mommy was the person that birthed you, right? Did she have a mommy? "I don't know if I have a mommy, but I must have because I'm here...?" she wasn't sure.
"Oh well. I don't remember my mommy, but I'm sure your mommy is pretty too since she gave you a pretty name!"
Wait, gave? Ooo!
"So your name was free? Ohhh, I guess mine was too, Haha!" she giggled, talking at a mile a minute.
Her attention suddenly returned to the plants.
"Well, you find the bad ones, and then you pull them out so all the roots come out too. But you have to be careful that you don't get too excited..." a very real threat for Sap, though not entirely in her control, "And hurt the nice plants when you pull it out!" She shook her head, "Its not good!"
She looked at the wild garden plot.
"Oh!" she dived in, not caring even the slightest about dirt stains, though she seemed to avoid squishing any plants, "Heres a REALLY bad one!" she lifted up a blackish vine with yellow flowers. One of it's tendrils was creeping up a plant, threatening to choke it. "Lets get it!" she said, testing the plant. Oooo, it was in there tight... Good thing she had help, then! She grinned at Caelia.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Yeah, that's right !" What she said goes. Well, ideally, at least. She was a goddess after all.

Still, she was still a tiny goddess. With bedtimes. Bedtimes was her worst enemy, really. "My mommy is really, really nice. And very pretty. She is the best mommy." Obviously. "We sing and we play and I tell her what the birds tell me so I can practice."

That was Very Important. If she could not be a valkyrie, then she would simply be the best goddess she could be. "My daddy looks kinda scary, but he's nice." She did not find her father scary, not really, but some mortals seemed to. "He just looks different, that's all. It would be boring if we all looked the same !"

Names weren't free ? She had never really thought about that. Before Caelia could truly ponder this, her new friend had found another bad plant. "Yeah, let's get it !"

They couldn't just let the bad plants be a bad plant, after all ! Though the flowers were kind of pretty... Still, if Sap said it was a bad plant, then it had to go ! Caelia was down in the dirt quickly enough, fingers curling above Sap's hold and pulling with all her might.

It wasn't much, but oh, she was trying ! "Come on, bad plant ! Let goooo !"

Sap pulled. Yes, it had pretty flowers, but some things had pretty flowers but were mean inside. So they had to go. And this one wanted to hurt its neighbors, and that wasn't nice at all.
Sap braced against the ground and tried to put her weight into it. Finally, with the help of the little goddess, it gave. Suddenly. Sap was sent backwards, back onto her a** in the dirt, the plant- with it's shockingly huge gnarly taproot- in their hands.

She laughed with joy. Why was everything so fun? Did it matter?

"Victory!" She said, brandishing the plant with a lopsided grin, "Victory and teamwork!" Which was even better.

She liked her new friend, then again, everybody was a new friend until proven otherwise! She sounded like she had a great mommy and a great daddy! Sap wanted to meet them! Sap wanted to meet everybody! Ever!

She looked at the plant for a moment.
"It'd be a nice plant, but it just doesn't play well with others. So it has to be alone, which is sad, but not so sad for the other plants." she said, nodding.

And then she started as her stomach gurgled. Oh! She was hungry. How long had it been since she had eaten? She didn't know! Even that was still so new...

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. This one plant certainly was resistant ! "Come on ! Go ! Go-"

That was when they finally got it. Sap was knocked flat on her behind, and Caelia did not fare better - flung backward and rolling along in the grass a bit... Laughing all the while.

"That was fun, let's go that again !" She cheered as she sat, hair mussed and with various twigs and grass strands being stuck to both her hair and clothing. "We got it, Sap !" Pulling out mean plants was fun !

"Maybe we can put it somewhere else, then ?" Caelia got back on her feet and walked toward Sap, peering over the girl's shoulder. "Somewhere with no other plants ?"

The grumbly stomach made the young goddess laugh again. "But I think your tummy has another idea !"

Sap frowned at the plant.
Did she want to eat the plant? She wasn't sure. Actually, she had a feeling it would be a bad idea. It didn't look particulaly tasty either.
"Lets plant it!" Oh but she didn't have a shovel... Oh well, hands worked! Even if it had a really really big root... Gosh that was a big root. Maybe hands wouldn't work. They'd be digging forever and that wasn't the fun part...
"I think we need a shovel, though. So it's happy." she got to her feet and looked at the plant sideways. It was really really big!
Her stomach growled again and she poked it. Stop growling, stomach.
"And then maybe..." what time WAS it? "Lunch or dinner or breakfast or all of them?" Sap had no idea.

But then, food sounded like a better idea at the moment. "All of them !" That would probably taste a little strange, but the little goddess liked the idea. "We get you something to eat then. And then we find a shovel !"

Her stomach grumbled again. Very insistently.
"You know, I think thats the best order to do them in!" Sap nodded. Yes. Getting a shovel was silly when clearly she needed food!

She poked at her traitorous stomach again and, almost as an afterthought, put down the plant. The plant was not for eating.

"Ummm" she realized she was in a quandry. She had been living off of berries and the fact that she didn't get hungry often, but right now she was hungrier than ever.
"Where do we get all of the meals?" This was an important question.

Clearly.

"We can go to the market ! We have all sort of things." Augury nodded. "Or I think my mommy's aoidei made cookies earlier."

Cookies were clearly a well-balanced meal.

Markets?
A flash of memory, a good one.
"Oooo! We should go to the Market!"
Sap LOVED markets. She had no idea why she liked them, or why she even knew what one was, but she loved them! Markets were like treasure hunts with people and things and goodies and... yes! Market was a good idea!
Except...
"But you need things to trade in a market..." she said, pouting thoughtfully, "What do we have...?" she stared at the plant for a moment before nudging it away. Not the plant. The plant, she had decided, would get planted where it could cause no trouble.
She had an idea.
"What are cookies?" and also, what was an aiode, but cookies were more pressing.
