Evo.com has obtained exclusive footage that was recorded just moments after the Showdown PPV went off the air.

After the epic Falco's Nest match ended, paramedics, along with WWE:E officials and trainers were shown helping the newly crowned Evolution champion Matt Shanahan down from the structure. As the crowd gave the triumphant God of Punks a standing ovation, Major Devastation -who had been at ringside, providing guest commentary- removed his headset and stood up, tossing his blazer and necktie aside as he grabbed a microphone and his Dementium title.
"Shanahan, you've been to hell and back tonight," Major began as he slid into the ring, "but I'm afraid your night ain't quite over yet!" With that being said, he popped up to his feet and dropped the microphone, thrusting the belt he carried into the referee's hands. What he said next couldn't be heard by the camera, but to those who had talent in reading lips, it appeared as though he was saying "Ring the damn bell, I'm cashing this son of a b***h in!"
The ref tried to talk him out of it, considering Shanahan's condition, but Devastation was rather insistent on the matter. Unable to dissuade the Devil Dog, the official had little choice but to call over the ring announcer.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MAJOR DEVASTATION IS CASHING IN HIS DEMENTIUM TITLE OPPORTUNITY!!!"

The God of Punks was limping towards the back of the ambulance that they had just pulled out to take the man off to the hospital for the rest of the night. With the state he was in... Chances were he wouldn't be in another match for a long time. With the help of the referees and medics, he was just about to climb into the back... Until he heard Major's voice over the sound system.
Shanahan slowly turned on heel to stare into the ring, his left eye closed shut from the burn wound at this point. Was he serious?... Was Major really sinking this low? The fans let out a rough chorus of jeers at the decision, a few shouting many derogatory terms of the Devil Dog. This was insanity!
But, with a look of bold determination on his face, Matt pushed away from the medics and began to limp towards the ring, the title belt tight in his grasp. He and Major had a rough history back in EWA... And he wasn't going to simply walk away from it now, even after all he had been through.
It took The God of Punks a few moments to get up the steel steps and climb between the ropes, pain clearly written on his face with every movement he took. Before long, he found himself in the middle of the ring, staring at Major Devastation with his one good eye. "... Really? This is how it's going to be?"

Ignoring the hail of jeers from the crowd, Major looked Shanahan right in the eyes...or eye, rather...and, with a voice cold as steel, he responded, "Damn right, it is!" As the two stared each other down, the referee called for the bell.
The moment it rang, the challenger immediately tried to deliver a boot to Matt's gut. If the kick connected and had its desired effect, Devastation intended to attempt to scoop Shanahan up and drop him squarely on his head by way of the Michinoku Driver II he liked to call The Devastator!

As soon as Devastation came into quarters for the kick, Matt's fist lifted for one his classic haymakers. Unfortunately, it didn't land it's target. Before he knew it, The God of Punks was scooped up and dropped on his head for the The Devastator, sending him into a heap on the mat. The fans were in utter silence at this point, no jeers or cheers; they simply couldn't believe that this was happening.

After the grueling match Shanahan had just been through, and with Major having delivered his vintage finishing maneuver, The Devastator, it should be game over for the Evo champ. Devastation kept a leg hooked from the sitout scoopslam piledriver, as he promptly went for the pin attempt.

No one knows exactly HOW Matt Shanahan managed to push his arm up and break out of the pin, but he did. The entire arena screamed and jumped to their feet at the sudden break out. The God of Punks wasn't done just yet; whatever he was hanging on to, he was grasping at every thread of it.

Major's eyes went wide with shock as Shanahan managed to miraculously kick out of the pin! " HOW...THE HELL...DID HE DO THAT?!?!" Sitting there momentarily in disbelief, the Devil Dog soon got back to his feet and attempted to deliver a vicious stomp to Matt's recently dislocated shoulder. If it hit home, Major would look to deliver another, aimed at his hand...and another one to the ribs...and his leg...and the other leg...and the ribs again...and the other hand...and the impaled shoulder, each potential stomp being accompanied by a barrage of shouts. "

The stomps were meeting their marks with ease, causing jolts of pain to further course through Matt's body. Despite everything, Major couldn't do more damage to the man than had already been done. And with each one, Shanahan began to stir even more, managing to push himself up to a base all the while.
"N-... Never..." The God of Punks coughed out as he reached up and sent a wild fist towards Major's gut!

The rage that Major had kept bottled up for so long was becoming more and more evident with each stomp in the series that had originally been made famous by former NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin, but somehow, despite all the punishment that he'd taken so far, Shanahan still managed to rally back and caught the challenger off guard with the punch to the midsection, doubling him over.

With the punch connecting, the fans were once again behind Shanahan in his attempt to secure the title once more tonight. Major was doubled over, with gave the kneeling God of Punks the perfect opportunity to send one of his giant fists railing upwards for an uppercut!

Still having trouble grasping just how in the hell Shanahan was even able to fight at this point, Major didn't see the fist flying up at him, which solidly connected with his jaw and sent him crashing into the mat. Of course it hurt like hell, but it did manage to cause the Master of Disaster to regain his focus.
He didn't know how the champ was still in this, but right now he no longer cared...all that mattered at that moment was putting out that fire once and for all! Major rolled over and got back to his feet, attempting to return the favor with a big right hook.

By the time Major managed to get up to his feet, Shanahan had staggered his way upward into his usual boxing stance. The fans were behind him completely, for possibly the first time in years. "SHAN-A-HAN!" chants were ringing out all over the arena, driving the brutally beaten man forward.
The right hook connected, however, causing him to stumbled back a step from the blow, almost falling over. "N-no..." he whispered to himself as he stepped back to the man and attempted to hit him with a rough jab to his jaw!

Major's head snapped back as the jab hit home, and he took a step back before closing in once more as he tried to feint with a left handed snap jab of his own...which was meant to distract from the real threat of a hard right body blow to the ribcage.

Matt was ready to deflect the left with his own right, but... He wasn't expecting the blow to his already battered ribcage. Major's fist smashed against the broken bones, causing an extreme amount of agony to course through Shanahan's body once more. He fell backwards from the blow, clutching his side in an attempt to numb the pain.

With the God of Punks once again down and clutching his broken ribs, the Master of Disaster would once again look to put Shanahan away as he tried to grab him by the scruff of his neck and drag the champ back to his feet so that, if successful, Major could attempt to hoist his opponent up onto his shoulders with a Fisherman Suplex lift and hold him there...which usually meant only meant one thing: THE DAISY CUTTER! Of course, if he made it to that point, the Jarhead Juggernaut wasn't planning on dropping back into the high angle neckbreaker/inverted cutter...he was actually planning on dropping Matt yambag first onto the top turnbuckle!
