"Where did everyone go?" Ifan asked more to himself than either of his companions as they walked up the uneven road to the once grand building that he imagined had been Isambard's temple. It was still standing, though even from a distance Ifn could see it was badly damaged. There was a hole in the roof and not a window left. "Left I would imagine." Isambard replied within him. "They would have sought new lands, not many would have stayed here to watch Albion fade to nothing." "Many died in the plague." Nisha piped up as they made their way up what had once been a street of shops. It was like a ghost town, many of them still had goods in the windows, abandoned as if on a busy shopping day. "Lots of people lived in close quarters here, illness tore through like fire."

Cyrus had left the girls to their happy chattering early that morning. He had taken on a special personal project once he and Elora and Maia had gotten their home stabilized and well on its way to being a proper living space again. His lord's temple had been one of the first places he had gone to visit upon his arrival at Albion. He had been dismayed by its appearance, though his search to help Elora had pushed the grand building into the back of his mind. Until now. Now that things were sorted and Elora was no longer helpless, he did not feel guilty about spending some of his days at the large temple sorting out the fallen debris and cleaning up the shattered glass. It was relaxing in an odd way. It gave him a new purpose and kept his hands busy.
He had just set the large, fallen clock upright in the middle of the floor when movement caught his eye through one of the windows. Frowning, he dusted his hands off and wandered closer to the window. He couldn't imagine Elora wandering this far yet. His suspicion was confirmed. The pair walking up the hill towards the building were far from his two female companions. Frowning deeper, he felt his power surge through him like a tidal wave. They were probably looters after his lord's goods. He would have none of that, he thought darkly, moving from the window and towards the entrance. Stepping out into the sunshine, he hurled a ball of fire at the pair before he fully registered who they were. "Come no closer!" he demanded, his booming voice echoing off the ruins.

Nisha was of course keeping her eyes and ears out for anything untoward. She knew the boy would be useless, Nisha did not however see the huling giant shadow behind the windows of the temple, it was still in the relative distance and her mind was on their immediate surroundings.
The fireball was probably the last thing that Ifan expected to come hurtling down the street, he just had time to take a dive for the nearest doorway, dragging Nisha with him as the voice shook the buildings around them, glass rattled and more fell off the already decaying shelves.
"What the hell was that." Ifan asked as he pushed himself up off the floor, he was now covered in dust and grime.
Nisha too pushed herself up, not too amused by either the fireball or being shoved to the grimy ground. "I don't know." She muttered moving to look around the side of the door and up the road to the temple.
Within Ifan something in Isambard's memory stirred. "I know that voice." he said.

Cyrus watched the pair dive behind one of the dilapidated buildings with a bit of smug satisfaction. As the smoke and dust cleared from his assault, he rested his hands at his hips and kept his eyes glued to where they were hiding.
"What is your business here?" he demanded, his power coursing through him in anxious waves begging to be released.

Isambard took control of Ifan's body and forced him out of his hiding place and into the line of fire. Ifan, needless to say was not entirely impressed with the motion. remember you are a mortal. "I could ask you the same question, Cyrus." Isambard said calmly taking steps up towards the temple gateway. "Thought you could sweep in and take Albion for your own." he knew the Djinn would not do anything of the sort but it amused him to tease all the same.
Nisha moved slowly out behind her lord. "Cyrus?" She raised an eyebrow and looked up to the giant in the doorway. "We thought he had abandoned you."

Cyrus's temper faltered as he was recognized. Frowning deeply, he studied the young man that boldly strode forward despite his clear warnings. Narrowing his eyes at the accusation, he felt something in the back of his mind p***k with recognition. His eyes were drawn away from the boy to the woman... no, not woman.
"Nisha," the name spilled from his lips before he even had time to fully recall it. Her words confused him and he looked back to the boy. No... surely this was not -him-? "My... lord?" he asked, his voice heavily laced with uncertainty and doubt.

Isambard smirked as he was recognised by the bull headed being and nodded. Cyrus was not known for his smarts, though he was the best bodyguard one could want. Strong, powerful and faultlessly loyal. "Hard to believe isn't it. This human, me." He stopped just short of the Djinn and grinned. "Aparently a condition of rebirth, we cannot merely be reborn, we need a vessel to incubate within. It could be worse it could have been a female. Though I imagine that has it's advatages."
Nisha followed and looked up as her name was spoken. "It's the truth. He is our Lord."

Cyrus was still skeptical as he looked the boy over once more. He remembered his lord as he was, strong and powerful, not gangly and lean. This body did not suit him. His words though, caused him to smirk. "I suppose that could be a matter of opinion," he replied and looked to the half-woman trailing behind him. "You doubted my loyalties?" he challenged her. "I have spent the decades searching for you my lord. I have returned here only when the search became fruitless and have decided to rebuild your city."

"Don't look at me like that, who else could I be?" He held the hand up that bore his gem. "I was trapped in this after I faded. Placing it within a mortal is the only way to escape." Isambard looked around at the devastation that surrounded them. "You're going to rebuild it all yourself?" He enquired with a small smirk. Though he supposed anything to keep busy.
Nisha shrugged a bare shoulder at the rhetorical question. He had abandoned the city when it needed him, that had never sat well with her. "Esha and I wondered what had happened to you. We found the home of the gods and have been waiting there."

Cyrus smirked at Isambard's admonishment for the looks he was giving him. Could he really blame him? He looked at the gem in the boy's hand and then back to Nisha. A city of gods, of course. Though if he had gone there, he would have never found Elora and she would have been left to rot beneath the fallen plaster and broken chandelier. "I would rebuild your city brick by brick my lord, even if it took an eternity," he replied quietly, turning his eyes to Isambard and giving him a shadow of a smile. "And I am not entirely alone here." Smiling a little more at the thought of Elora, he dipped his head into a respectful bow. "I am relieved that you have returned at last my lord." Even if he was a shadow of his former self at the moment.

"That is a good answer, dedication, loyalty, optimism. I like to hear that." Isambard smirked and glanced around, he stepped past Cyrus and moved on up towards the temple gateway. "Not here alone?" Isambard turned back and reached into Ifan's pocket, he pulled the jeweled key up. "Elora? Have you found her?"

Cyrus inwardly beamed at the praise. It would have been the very least he could have done for not being able to protect him from fading into nothingness. Turning as Industry stepped past him, he lifted his brow when Elora's heart was produced from his pocket. Glancing to Nisha, he wanted to ask how they had found the key, but instead he nodded to Isambard. "Yes. I have found her and restored her as best as I am able," he said quietly, his eyes lingering on the jeweled key. Perhaps she would work even better now that it had returned to them.

Isambard smiled and looked back down to the key. "Excellent." Another cog in the machine. Though the task of rebuilding was great, having people around who knew him, knew his vision would no doubt make things easier. "Perhaps we can return this to her then."

It took all of his willpower to not reach out and snatch the key away from his lord. Cyrus knew his place, but that was his love's heart and he didn't take its handling lightly. "She would be very grateful my lord," he smiled a little and nodded to him. "We are living at the Rose Garden. We've been rebuilding it slowly together. She will be very happy to see you."

Isambard noted the 'wes' though he didn't really care. What people did with their time was of no concern to him. As long as they did their job on his time. "The Rose Garden, well let's go then I want to see what you have done." He was aware they could not rebuild just the five of them, though, they needed something to sell to others. Something to make people want to settle in Albion.
