Bix had been blissfully silent through the entire trial ordeal. Even when his and Ceres 'death' was brought up, besides opening a whole new can of paranoid worms, he hadn't said a word. It was only when Ceres took it upon herself to leap through the portal that Bix even a made a noise. He'd squeaked something that may have been 'What' but all his air grasping had been useless since she'd leapt without warning. Honestly it would have been nice of her to give him even a nod of warning. The moments before their return had been shocked ones. His heart pounding in his ears, stomach sunk into his shoes. When they all appeared back in the room, when he'd seen her face again? Bix turned around and left. He didn't stick around for the change in punishment or the return of weapons. He'd missed any exchanges that took place. He started storming but eventually ended up in a solemn march. He was hunched, hands severly pressed into his pockets, eyes on the toes of his shoes as he wound back to the dorms and up to his room.

She had wasted no time to get away from it all.
She really needed to talk with Gale, tell him just exactly how she felt about this. Only she knew that if she talked with him now... she would have yelled. Maybe he deserved it, but after what traumatizing events they just witnessed she felt best to wait.
To try and cool down.
She felt it, deep inside. The Anxiety and the...betrayal, she felt. She was being punished for doing her job. For being herself.
She needed to see a friendly face, but hell she just wanted to cuddle up with someone and cry at this point. That was why she made her way towards Bix's room. Letting herself in as usual, she looked around for him.
"...Bix?"

Bix wasn't sure that she would come to see him. She had to know he'd be upset, right? When she came in he was standing in the living room area, undoing the zipper on his coat. His back was too the door and it was only when he was tossing it down to the couch that he heard his name. He pause a minute, a tense running over his back under the black microfiber shirt he wore with his uniform.
Bix didn't immediately say anything except to sit down on his couch and give her an odd stare. It was angry, sad, disappointed, worried... he couldn't even form rational words with all of it. His mouth just set into a tense frown.

******** was the single word that ran through her mind when she finally looked at his face, took in his expression. Ceres allowed the raw emotion to show on her face, the shock she felt, a second before she closed down. She stayed near his doorway, closing it behind her with a bump of a hip; Settling against a wall close to the door.
All she did was stare back, waiting for him to say something. She did not know what to say, really. While her face was blank... a torrent of emotions swelled inside her. Of...everyone that she knew, she thought he of all people would be the one to understand most.

He flipped his hand. He still didn't even know how to start this conversation and then suddenly he just blurted out, "Really? Just... jump in the portal? The portal that leads to 'disobey the orders of the division leads and god knows where else'?" His flipped hand tensed into a momentary fist of frustration before he gripped the pants on his bent knee. "What happened to not throwing ourselves into the fire anymore? Or.. I dunno. A little bit of a warning? Maybe.. hey babe what do you think.. or.." He shook his head, once more rationality slipping away momentarily. His arm muscles twitched under the shirt from his tight grip on his own knee. Bix was trying not to say or do anything that made him look like an a**. He did that enough when things weren't serious. He'd like to reign it in for the conversation.

So they really were going to play this game.
Bix always had a way with his body movements. Any other time she might have been amused by the hand motion, as it was? She was only irritated more by it. Something that shown in the drawing down of her eyebrows.
"You heard my words in the beginning. You saw me stand with my Division and my Leaders. You saw my answer, only a certain golden haired wrench was tossed into the matter that tied my hands behind my damn back." She quipped back, keeping her voice low and a little agitated.
Tossing her arms into the air her voice picked up volume. She was still mad from what happened, so her fuse was still short.
"Oh i dont know, Bix. Maybe i was just doing my god damn job? Or maybe i was concerned because your BEST friend decided to leap through that damn portal? When i had no idea what the hell was on the other side of that portal either? How the hell could i guarantee his safety if we didnt know what the hell was OVER there?"
She paused now, shaking her head. "I did look at you, to let you know. I spoke what i felt, but i also knew deep down you would not have let me go. The portal was closing just as i left, i had to make a split second choice."

Of course her and her damn need to protect everyone. Honestly if she had said she was protecting any of the others he wouldn't have had only selfish reasons to dispute it. Because it was Gale, because he knew them both too well, he was even more annoyed. Bix shook his head emphatically. "It's your job to stick with your division, listen to your division lead WHO WAS IN THE ROOM.. who already punished you JUST FOR BEING THERE."
His face was turning red. His fisted hand slamming into the couch. "Gale's in DEATH. Information gathering. Shifty spying..... stuff. Stuff that isn't compatible with hulking Suns trying to save them or foolish Moons trying to protect them.." His yelling seemed to degrade into mere frustration as he talked on.
"Yeah you made your thoughts loud and clear.. and then leapt in the damn portal anyway! Gale's my best friend. He's also demonstrated time and time again that he's good at his job. He advanced faster than any of us." Bix wasn't lying but he was definitely using all of these as excuses. Excuses for the fact that he didn't like seeing her throw herself through a portal and leave him..
"You coulda .." He shook his head. His fight was leaving him. Was he even mad anymore? He wasn't seeming like it. He seemed sad. Hurt. Realities of being left behind had hit him. She could have died through some mystery portal by some mystery assailant. He could have never seen her again.
He probably wouldn't have even cared if she'd dragged him along with her... "Just left me there. Like that."
He knew that orders and missions could separate them, kill them. She'd just done this against all of those things.

Foolish Moons
Did he seriously think she was foolish? Quite possibly she was at times..but.
"...So your saying i should be a drone then. Stay in line, always follow my leaders. Never take a toe step away. Jump when asked." her voice was progressively growing lower, as she glared at him. "Bix. You know me. I can be a drone at times, i next to ALWAYS follow orders. But i am a human being, not some Dahlek always crying exterminate. I have a heart, i have a mind. I follow both of those sometimes, no matter HOW 'foolish' you might think i am."
Crossing her arms tighter, she looked away from him briefly. "I know Gale is a god damn Death Hunter, he is good at his job. That does NOT mean though that he does not need to be protected. He is a friend of mine, Bix. Like he is a friend of yours. I couldn't...sit there and let him just freaking do that. Go off alone like that."
She thought about her next words carefully, still not calming down. "Don't you think i knew almost instantly why you were saying these things? You almost lost your best friend and your girlfriend today. You wanted to go too, but if you think i was selfish to leave you? Fine. You can think that. You know why?" She looked back at him next, giving him the full weight of her gaze. "Because it was entirely ******** selfish of me. Just like you seem to ahve the need to protect me all the time, dont you think i feel the same for you? I left you behind because i didnt WANT you to be in the line of fire. I knew you were safe where you were. I could concentrate on keeping myself AND Gale alive, knowing you were safe."
And that was the harsh truth of it. She was still pissed at you, Bix.

Bix literally crumpled further under every word she said. Mostly because she was correct. He had no right to tell her what she could and could not do. He had no right to tell her who she shouldn't protect. He didn't even mean to call her foolish really. He hadn't. "I.." After being pinned by her serious gaze his head fell. "I'm sorry. And you're not foolish. I didn't.. " He'd said hulking suns too right? No.. that wouldn't make it any better. I told you not to date thessse women. No you didn't. Well I told you to get some.. perhaps I didn't sssspecify dating to be sstupid particularly.. Shut up.He didn't need to hear it from Mina too. "You're right." he mumbled it towards his lap before lifting his head with unintentional pained puppy eyes. "I'm an idiot and.. selfish and.. now that the moment is gone and everyone is fine." He felt stupid. Just.... stupid. "You're not foolish and I.." Didn't want to be left alone? Left behind? Wondering? "You have every right to defend.. whoever.. whenever.. Truth is.. I am a sheep. Bah.. bah.." He made a piss poor sheep noise. "You've got more balls then I do and.." Bix merely gripped his pants at the knee a bit tighter. "Sorry. I just want you safe. This was all about me. Not you." And how he'd never forgive Gale if Ceres died on his account. Or anyone really. Common sense didn't come into play when loneliness and grief dominated. Bix bit his lip a bit and let go of his knees. She was mad. She was raging at him. He wasn't sure that even his groveling would work right now. What a quickly fizzling argument.

She listened to him for a while, choosing to instead keep her silent stubborn seething to herself.
After he was finished, and went silent, it was her turn to let out a rather loud sigh. "Your not an idiot. Ill be frank, if YOU did that to ME? Ide be freaking pissed too. Im not blaming you okay? Lets just...get that through your head first." If anything Ceres was honest, even if brutally honest sometimes.
"I think you just.... Bix you need to know that you cant hide me away in some cage, im not a fragile woman. I dont need to be coddled all the time. Sure, sometimes its nice, but other times? Not as much." Ceres was used to being independent, having someone there is nice and all but she wasn't looking for a protector... she was looking for a partner. "Your not a sheep, Bix. You can hold your own pretty damn nicely. If you couldn't you would not have made it this far. I understand your need to protect, better than most. But instead of trying to hide me away... I want you to stand next to me. Not in front of me." Not that she would not stand in front of him, but she chose not to say that out loud. It was her job to guard and heal, so it went unspoken.
"I think i need some time to cool down before we continue this conversation." Plus some time to think. Call her a hypocrite, but damn... his disapproval on top of everything that happened really hit home. It hurt, a lot.
She would stick around for a little while longer though.... waiting to see if he would reply.

"I've never tried to keep you caged.. And you hardly ever let me coddle you.." He would have smirked but... he looked hurt now, that she would think that. "Or hold you back. Standing side by side usually means.. you know.. side by side. s**t.. I'd have been fine if you dragged me along." Even against his will. He shook his head, his mouth closed and opened a few times. Several things she was saying seemed really hypocritical. Humans are all hypocrites. Says the monster who decided to kill monsters. Touche.Bix felt like he could burst with things he could say or wanted to say. Most of them wouldn't form correctly into words so he just nodded. "None of this is about.. holding you back. It was never about that. Never have I thought you were a fragile woman.."That should be obvious by his cringing in fear of being hit a lot of the time, "Just.. a team should be a team. All the time. And I just wasn't on the same page as you in that situation I guess." He frowned. "Sorry." He looked back at his hands. "I'll uh.. be here." Later. Tomorrow. Was this a thing? Should be concern? Suddenly he desperately blurted, almost amusing, "YOU'RE NOT LEAVING ME ARE YOU?!" He was..... pathetically like a puppy right now. Clearly not good at arguing with her.

"You try and jump in front of me all the time when we are in real combat." She commented mid-thought during his speech. "Not just me either... others too. I guess i see that as you coddling or caging.... i guess i should say Bix, you need to let me do my job. Its... What i am GOOD at. Its why i am the Moon to your Sun. We are Eclipse together, your strength is your badass bow... mine is making sure you stay safe and healed."
"I agree we should be together for it to work at its best. As i told you though, the mission i self imposed on myself was to protect Gale. Knowing you were safe helped me be able to go my Moon duties more. If you were with me i dont...know if i could have protected you both. Im good but... im not THAT good." She was human after all... or at least, close to human.
Ceres was close to the door, but made a U-turn at the last possible second as she reached for the knob. His words were what made her approach him. Leaning down it might seem like she was making a move to hit him. Instead she grabbed his chin and tilted his face towards hers with a little force. She planted on him a light, but firm, kiss.
It lasted for a second, before she took a step back. "No, dummy. Just consider this our first large disagreement." She was certain there would be others... but that didn't mean she was leaving him over something THIS stupid.

Bix just nodded and kissed her back dumbly. "Ah.. alright. Sorry." He was bright red in embarassment now. Especially since she'd kissed him. "I'll be here later if you wanna.." Come back. Have a meal? Do anything besides fight? He would most definitely be the best boyfriend ever after this.

She felt nothing more really needed to be said. Instead she gave a nod... and still feeling that ball of emotions in her stomach, left his room with a click of the door.
She would never admit that she ran to her room afterwords, holding back tears along the way.
