Junjie could barely hold back his squeals of excitement as he walked alongside his mother, moving toward the most amazing place that he had ever seen before in all of his life. It was a city, a really, really big one, and even at a distance he could see that it was filled with so many people! More then he had ever seen before in all of his years and they were all together in one place! It was almost overwhelming to his senses and he wanted nothing more then to run forward and take it all in. He wanted memorize every little detail because it was the sort of place that he had been certain that he would never be allowed to go anywhere near a second time. Not when his mother was reluctant to even allow him to the small town that they lived near to. The likelihood of them returning to this place was fairly slim given that the only reason they were here now was due to a medical emergency. His mother needed to come here to pick up some very specific, very rare herbs that she hadn't even thought to grow herself.
Due to this place being so far from home he had been allowed along, his mother not wanting to leave him alone for as long as it would take her to get here and back. It seemed that she still hadn't gotten over the fact that he had slipped off the other day and nearly gotten himself eaten by a grumpy Drakein. It wasn't as though he'd meant to do that he thought to himself idly, a thought he pushed away instantly as it really wasn't all that important, was it? No, what was important was that he was here now and he meant to make the most of it even if he was stuck wearing a heavy cloak. It was to help hide the parts of him that would cause people to see him as anything but Dovaa he'd been told. It really was such a bother... it was too heavy, too hot, and it got in the way. Still, better that he wore the cloak and was allowed along he supposed.
Junjie lifted his hands to adjust his hood so that he could better attempt to look everywhere at once, eyes the size of saucers as though that might allow him to see more then if his eyes were open to a normal size.
"Jun, stop starring so much, people are going to see it as rude." His mother Lien murmured to him, giving him a little nudge. The last thing she wanted was for her son to upset someone while they were in town because he forgot to blink after all. As the two of them approached the gates to the massive city she gave pause, turning to look at him, "You are going to wait just outside the shop for me, alright? I will be as quick as I can." She knew how cramped the shop was and she didn't want her son to accidentally knock anything over in his excitement to see everything that was being sold.
"Wait outside, alright." Junjie said, paying attention to a degree but it was hard to do when they walked through the gates and he could get a better look at all the beautiful, colorful people in this town. They were all so amazing, like some sort of living rainbow, and the way that they displayed their beautiful wings made him a little envious since he wasn't allowed to do the same!
As they reached the apothecary Lien looked down at her son, resting her hands on his shoulders to better get his full attention, "Wait here." She told him firmly before she moved to slip inside the shop, a bell ringing as she did so, announcing her presence.
Junjie watched her go inside before he leaned against the side of the building, looking around at everyone that was moving around the streets, smiling brightly, before his eyes fell upon someone even more amazing them the Orderite people. There was a hulking form of a man across the way from him, looking as though he had a shop of his own set up. He had dark skin, dark hair, and the most interesting looking, twisted horns. So he was a Dovaa then? Well, he supposed that he had horns too and he wasn't full Dovaa he reminded himself, so the big man was at least partly Dovaa then. He looked over his shoulder for a moment at the door to the shop, sure that his mother wouldn't notice if he just walked across the way to get a better look a bit the big Dovaa, right? Nodding his head he pushed away from the side of the shop to move forward toward the man.

Neutral: Arick Skyeforge: Information Arick’s shop is movable, and he sets up shop within one of the cities in Magesc. That is where you have found him today. His shop is just inside one of the main cities on either Serenia or Soudul (you choose). You have found your way to Peddler’s Rock. A traveling shop for everything, including some things not quite legal. A tall and burly Dovaa greets you as you come in and asks if you have a moment to spare. Arick's Request " Hey there little one, may I have a word with you? I'm in a bit of a bind. You see, got a spot of trouble that needs dealing with but I can’t leave my shop unattended. Could you lend me a hand, perhaps?" Jun seemed to freeze in place when the large Dovaa seemed to not only spot him but actually called out to him. He lifted his wide, purple eyes to stare up at him as he asked if he could have a word with him. Instantly Jun was nodding his head, seeing no harm in listening to what he had to say. If he were to say no or run away he would seem rude after all. As the man started to talk about the trouble he was in, trouble that he couldn't tend to his he couldn't leave his shop, and Jun listened to all of it carefully before the man was suddenly asking him if he could lend a hand. Glancing over his shoulder for a moment at the apothecary and then back again he nodded his head, "Yeah, I think I can." He murmured, so long as it didn't take long he should be able to help, right? Besides, given that the big man seemed to be in trouble it wouldn't be very nice of him to refuse. He wanted to help people like his mother helped people, this was his chance to do just that! Arick's Request He smiles with relief upon your agreement, " Thanks a bunch, partner. I have a few tasks, mostly need some help restocking, but there is one that I’d like you to do first. Not really all that earth-shattering, just…finding something for me." he says, rubbing the back of his head a bit embarrassed. Go to Task OneArick's Request " I've lost a letter on my way here this morning. It’s extremely important to me and I’d prefer that no one read it." a small blush and awkward expression passes over his face. " But since I can’t leave the shop, you’ll have to go back along my path and try to find it for me." The path to the shop is a rather winding one with many bushes, trees, and shrubs along it. So many places for a letter to hide. "A letter." He murmured, nodding his head, "Alright! I will see if I can find it!" Jun said, giving the big Dovaa a smile before he turned on his heel to trot off down the path that had been indicated to him in search of the letter.

IC TASK 1 Failure: Rolled a 93 71-100: You can’t find it at all. Go to Opened Letter. One would think that finding a letter would be a little easier since Arick at least knew where it was that he had lost the thing he thought to himself as he dug around under the different bushes on the path, looked up into the trees, and did his best to seek out anything that might be the letter or a clue to where the letter had gotten itself off to but thus far without any luck, "Where are you?" He murmured, standing up as he realized that he was some distance from the city now and still without any sort of luck. Resting his hands on his hips he found himself wondering if maybe someone else had found the letter or if it was long gone. There was a nice breeze at the moment and it could easily have gotten picked up by a gust and carried off to who knew where. He made his way back to where the big Dovaa was waiting, searching on the way back just as he had the way down the path but still seemed to have zero luck as far as the letter went. That wasn't good, he really did want to be able to help the man since he seemed kind enough. A shame that he had no idea where that letter had gotten itself off to. As he approached the dark haired man once more he couldn't help but to feel worried, not wanting to disappoint him completely with the news that he was bringing back, "I... ahh... I... looked and looked but, um, I couldn't seem to find it." He explained, poking his toe at the ground as he made the confession. Arick's Request " Blast. I truly hope no one else found it. Better that it gets lost and destroyed than someone reading it." he mutters under his breath. Shaking his head in disappointment he assigns you your next task. Go to Task 2.Arick's Request This task is more important, his stock of pearly scales is running low and he needs you to go get three for him. He tells you that there are two ways to get them. One is to fight an Oralrik and the second is to search the banks of Serenia’s lakes for the scales. To the lakes he found himself thinking, wanting to tell the man that he didn't think that he would be able to do such a task, that it was too far away, that his mother was bound to notice that he was missing for that long. Still, he'd failed at the first task that the man assigned to him and he didn't want to refuse the second one outright. Maybe he could talk his mother into letting him do this? A difficult sort of task for sure but he wanted to try! Giving the big man a nod he said, "I need to talk to my mother real fast then I will try to find the scales for you." He told him, turning on his heel and hurried to the apothecary across the way.

As he reached the doors to the apothecary much to his surprised it opened up to reveal his mother holding a bag. She looked down at him, her eyes going quite wide, before she reached down to pluck a couple of leaves from his hair, "I take it that you didn't stand still like I asked." She said with a bit of a sighing sound, she had really hoped that he would behave himself and stay outside the doors to the shop but at the same time she supposed that would be hoping for a miracle. Given everything going on around him it would likely be difficult for such a curious child to actually sit still, especially in a place that he'd never been before, "Come on then, it's time to go home." She said, turning around, before she took a few steps forward... only to realize that the boy wasn't following her, "Eh? Junjie, come, it's time to go home."
The boy shifted in place for a moment, seeming to think on something very hard, before he shook his head, "I... I can't yet! I want to help Mister Arick!" He said, motioning to the big Dovaa that was manning the shop across from where the two of them were standing, "He gave me an important errand to run, asking me to find and letter and... and I couldn't but he is gonna let me make up for that by finding some pearly scales, apparently something called an Oralrik have them but I can also find them along the banks of any of the lakes. We have one North of where we live so I could go there and get them, then bring them back here for him." He said in a rush, his voice and the look in his eyes an earnest one. He wanted to make it up to the man, to find these scales for him since he was unable to find the letter. He would always feel bad about that, the first time an adult that wasn't his mother asked him to do something and he'd failed! He wouldn't fail a second time.
The woman shifted the large bag she was carrying from one arm to the other, giving a bit of a sigh. She really wanted to tell him 'no', to take his hand and drag him home with her if that was what she had to do... but could she really do that? Already it seemed that he was sneaking off when her back was turned, wandering off their property in fact, playing with strangers, getting in trouble with Drakein. She would rather that he stayed safe but he might very well continue to run off on his own, without telling her where he was going, if she didn't loosen her hold just a little. The last thing she wanted was for him to run away for good, the idea was a frightening one. After a long moment the woman gave a sigh, shaking her head, "You are growing up far to quickly on me, my little Junjie." She murmured to him, ruffling his hair before they continued along, "I will walk with you until the fork in the road. One path heads back to our village, the other one will bring you to the lake. You can go, get the pearly scales, and then hurry back to Arick. I want to go with you, I really do, but it's important I get these herbs home, brew them into tea, and make sure that my patient drinks it." Lien was so terribly reluctant to do this, not wanting to allow her son to go anywhere alone, but he seemed to be so insistent, making her think he might very well go on his own and end up lost.
She gave sigh before she started to lay out the ground rules that would go along with this errand that her son was wanting to go on, "You must promise that you will keep your cloak on, don't let anyone too close, don't let your wings be seen, don't linger too long, stay away from the Oralrik they are dangerous, and don't..."
"Mom!" Junjie cried, looking up at her with wide eyes, "I understand, I have to be careful and I will! I won't let anyone learn any of my secrets, I won't swing sticks at anymore dangerous monsters, I will just run to the lake, find the scales, and then go back to Arick. Once I drop them off, if that is all he has for me to do, I will come home." He said, giving a nod of his head. He was pretty sure that if she was allowed to keep listing things that he wasn't supposed to do that she would likely continue on until they reached the fork in the road that she had been talking about. He knew everything that he was and wasn't supposed to do by heart, he'd heard it almost daily. As such he would make sure to be careful so that he could find the pearly scales for Arick and hopefully make up for the fact that he was unable to find his letter.
Lien nodded her head slowly, "Ahhh... alright." She murmured, looking more then a little worried about all of it. She didn't like the idea of leaving her son all on his own, she wanted to hold onto his hand, keep him close, keep him safe, but she was going to allow this. Of course as she got to the fork in the road she found herself rethinking the entire idea. It was one thing to say that she was going to let him go to the lake on his own and it was a whole other thing to allow him to do so himself. She found herself starring down the path that would lead to the lake and looked down at her son, "Are you sure about this?" She asked of him.
Junjie nodded his head, "I am! I will see you soon, Mom, alright?" He said, smiling up her. He took a hurried step forward, giving his mother a hug, before he turned and hurried down the path that was going to take him to the lake and to the pearly scales that were to be found to be found there. This was so exciting! To be allowed to run this errand all on his own, to help Arick to replenish his stock of pearly scales.

IC TASK 2 Choose to Search for the Pearly ScalesSuccess Rolled a 51 11-99: Success! You find 3 of them. You may give all 3 to Arick or nothing at all. Walking along the stream that ran though their property was one thing but standing there at the edge of the lake was another. It was massive, to the point that he couldn't see the other side, and he was in complete awe of it, "Wow..." He murmured, hands clutching at the edge of his cloak, jumping up and down as he did so, his wings flapping under his cloak. This place was great! How he wanted to just stay here and watch all of the beautiful water forever! A passing thought though as he reminded himself why he was here. While taking in the scenery was tempting he had an errand to run, an important one, and he refused to fail this time around! Moving slowly toward the lake, keeping his eyes peeled for any of the Oralrik creatures, the young brunette paused as he reached the edge of the water, watching the way that the wind had the water lapping against the bank, "Alright... let's see if I can find some pearly scales." He murmured to himself, wings fluttering again before he got them under control and once more recalled them. No matter how excited he was he promised that he'd try to keep them in check. As he moved along the bank of the lake he kept his eyes peeled, looking for any sort of glittering clue along the bank, "Come on scales, where are you?" He murmured, hoping that this wouldn't turn out the same way as the search for the letter had. He'd failed once and he refused to do so a second time. After a bit of searching though he spotted something glittering a little ways ahead, rushing forward he knelt down, digging into the muddy bank where the sparkle originated and he pulled free one of the scales, "Ohhh... how pretty!" He exclaimed, rinsing it clean in the water so that he could get a better look at it. No wonder it was called a pearly scale give how it seemed to gleam with a rainbow hue. As tempting as it was to keep it for himself he knew better then that, this was for Arick, not for his personal collection, and he would bring it and two others back to the hulking Dovaa. With that thought firmly in place in the forefront of his mind the search continued. The sun slowly made its journey overhead while Junjie made his slowly along the edge of the lake, searching for more glittering signs of where the pearly scales were hidden. The way that the water was moving it was making it harder to find them, the waves seeming to drag in more dirt and debris that seemed to litter the shore line. It was slow going for sure but he wasn't going to give up, not when this was his chance to prove himself, not only to Arick but to his mother and even to himself in a sense. If he did this right then maybe that meant that he would be able to do more each day then find himself stuck inside all day, everyday, without hope of something new and different happening. If he did this well then maybe his mother would let him out a little more often? Jun knew full well that he might be getting ahead of himself a little but it was hard not to imagine various possibilities for his future. "Oh!" Junjie let out a sound of delight, trotting quickly forward, so that he could scoop up the second pearly scale, rinsed it off in the lake water, and then tucked it into the pocket on the inside of his cloak with the first one he'd found, "Only one more to go." He said in a happy manner, continued on with the trek around the lake, wanting to get back to Arick soon so that he could drop the scales off with him and be on his way home, sure that his mother was worrying about him. He didn't want to worry her, just wanted a chance to prove himself was all. Maybe once the work for Arick was all done he would see about making it up to her, maybe sticking close to home for a few days before asking to go out again? It might help to make his mother happy he decided, pausing so that he could look out over the lake once more, smiling a bit as he did so. If he got the chance to come out here again he wanted to do so on his own terms, so that he could explore, gather things to bring home with him, maybe go fishing for the sorts of fish that lived in lakes, and have a picnic, perhaps? Things that he would need to discuss with his mother. Some time later, what felt like an eternity to one Jun's age, he finally stumbled across the last of the pearly scales that he needed, literally in fact as the toe of his boot had gotten tangled on it and he'd ended up on his hands and knees above it. Looking down at what he'd tripped over the boy couldn't really be mad as he reached out to grab up the scale that had tried to take him out, "You tried and failed." He told the scale, giving it the same quick rinse that the previous two got before tucking it away as well, "Time to get back to Arick." He said as he turned around and ran toward where the path back to the city lay. The trip back was a fairly boring one without his mother there to talk to him, as such he could only think about what she might think when she saw that he was able to find the scales that he was sent after. How he wanted to tell her all about it! As he reached the fork in the road he was tempted to do just that, wanting to run down the path to bring her the good news... but he knew that was a terrible idea. He couldn't go so far out of the way, not when he'd found the scales that he'd been sent out to find, right? That seemed silly and he could very well tell her the news of his success after he gave over the pearly scales to Arick. After finally deciding this he turned in the direction of the city instead of the direction of home, and hurried down the path. Upon reaching the city he nearly ran full bore over to Arick, digging into the pocket inside his cloak and held out the three pearly scales to him, smiling brightly as he did so, "I found them!" He said excitedly. Arick's Request Arick grins, so he’d judged you right! You were good enough to do the tasks he needed done. So nice to know that there are dependable people out there. Go to Task ThreeArick's Request This time he needs Nocturnal Spikes, he’s out and a customer came by asking for some and he said that he would have some by tomorrow. You may fight an Riistäjä for its Spikes or you may search the forest of Souldul for them. To say that he was shocked was an understatement, the idea of going to Souldul was a little on the terrifying side. Did he really want to go there? Wasn't it dangerous? While he knew little to nothing about the people that lived there personally his mother deemed them dangerous due to what they'd done to Junjie's father in the past. Knowing that one of them had attack his father was a little intimidating but did he want to give up now? Maybe he could try to go so Souldul real fast, find the spikes, and get back before his mother was any the wiser about him going somewhere like that? "I will try." He said to Arick, deciding that the first thing he needed to do was figure out how to get to such a place.

IC TASK 3, PART 1 Choose to Search for the Nocturnal SpikesSuccess Rolled a 47 11-99: Success! You find 2 of them. You may give all 2 to Arick or nothing at all. After a bit of investigating, which was a lot of him asking questions of any of the pretty, rainbow colored Orderites that he could catch up with, Junjie was able to learn that the only way to get to Souldul was to take a ferry that left at specific times each day. It was an interesting thing indeed, he'd never gotten to take a ferry ride before! Oh man, this was going to be great! After leaving a note behind with Arick, just in case his mother came looking for him, he was off to take a boat to Souldul. The entire ride there he starring over the edge of the boat, eyes wide, trying to take in everything at once, marveling over the look of the boat, the way that they were surrounded on all sides by water, the various creatures he could see moving under the surface. He was going to have to thank Arick for this opportunity once he got back from Soudul. Were it not for the massive Dovaa asking for his help he wouldn't have been able to see any of the things that he'd seen so far today. He found himself wondering idly if he'd be so lucky as to see some of the people who lived in Souldul but wasn't sure if he wanted to. If his mother was wary of them perhaps he should be too? The most important thing about this leg of his journey was to make sure that his wings behaved. Even if they did decide to pop up he wasn't going to flap them, not at all, and that way he might keep from getting into too much trouble. He had heard that the Orderite and their dark enemies the Oblivionites didn't get along, as such it was best that he didn't get spotted by them. If they recogized him as having Orderite blood flowing through his veins he might very well be seen as an invading enemy or something. The very last thing he wanted was to upset them when all he was really after were some spikes off of the Riistäjä and nothing more... not that he wanted to fight one of them. No, his plan was to go to the forest, search around, and then find spikes that were just laying around on the ground. Unlike with the scales he only needed two spikes so this task should be a lot easier then finding the scales. The worst part of this one being that he had to take a ferry to Souldul and back, something that was bound to eat up a lot of time. Speaking of eating the boy leaned against the edge of the boat, digging into his pocket, and took out some dried rations. Munching on one of them he continued on with watching the ocean, unsure when he might be back here again. Best to make the most of every moment of this adventure he told himself. Even once he was done with his meal he continued to stare, all the way until Souldul came into view and then instead of starring out over the water he starred at the dark continent instead. It was dark and shadowy, comprised of all sorts of black, dark gray, and dark purple, making it seemed like quite the intimidating area. Nevertheless he had a task given to him and he would do his best to make sure that he was able to bring back the spikes that Arick had asked for. The moment the ferry came to a stop he was rushing over to the ramp that led down to solid ground, careful not to bump into anyone else that was wanting off, and he hurried down the stairs. The moment his feet touched ground he realized he had no idea where he was or where he was going, as such he was quick to turn to one of the ferrymen to ask for directions. Once he was pointed in the right direction of the nearest forest he was off at a dead run, wanting to get there and back swiftly so that he would hopefully be lucky enough to be able to catch the very next ferry. It really all depended on how difficult the forest was to find and in turn how difficult the spikes were to find. Upon reaching the forest he found himself pacing at the edge of it. It was dark, creepy, and intimidating, he was also quite certain he could hear something howling from within. Did he really want to do this? He was sure that he could run back even now instead of delving into the dark recesses of this place in search of spikes that he may or may not find that belonged to a beast that he had no knowledge of. Did he really want to do this? The answer was a firm 'no' but he had come this far and he meant to keep going, even if he didn't want to. He had told Arick that he would do this, that he would try to find him the spikes, and he meant to do just that! Drawing in a deep breath to steady his faltering nerves he took one step into the forest, then another, and another. To get to where he was going he would need to take it one step at a time, he couldn't rush, not wanting anything scary to spot him. In fact he would do his best not to let anything at all see him, having a feeling that even the critters in this place were likely terrifying! It wasn't long before he spotted what he'd come for, or at least one of them, and he hurried forward to scoop up the the large, darkly colored spike, "Huh." Seemed as though everything in this area was rather dark in color, weren't they? As he inspected the spike he couldn't help but to compare it to the more pretty colored pearly scales that he found, finding he much preferred the former item to the latter one, "Mmm... I will think about that later." He told himself, tucking the spike away so that he could concentrate on finding the second one. He didn't want to be in this dark, scary place any longer then he had to be. Just a quick mission in and out, nothing more! Half the blood that he carried in his veins was that of the enemy of the people that lived in Souldul, as such he didn't want to linger. The searched continued. He looked high and low, not sure if the Riistäjä beast could climb trees or not, and he realized he should probably have asked Arick a little about them before he came this far. No matter though, the first spike had been laying on the ground so surely the second one would be on the ground as well? Maybe they were ground dwelling creatures after all. He couldn't be certain though since he knew nothing about them, that was just an assumption on his part. When he finally did find the second spike he had to lift his hands up to cover his mouth to smother then giggles that were trying to escape from him. The spike was stuck in a tree, the various marks on the tree and the lost spike making it look as though the beast had been rubbing itself against the base of the tree, maybe due to an itch. Reaching out he took hold of the spike and gave it a tug, pulling it free from the tree. He inspected it a moment, making sure that it was in as good of condition as the first one had been, before he tucked it away into his pocket, "Time to go." He told himself, deciding that if the beast was able to make such a mess of a tree just by using it as a scratching post that it wasn't something that he wanted to mess. Instead he would leave the Riistäjä to go about their business and he would go about his, the most important part being getting back to the ferry with a quickness.

IC TASK 3, PART 2 The second ferry ride consisted of Junjie sleeping, wrapped up in his cloak, having found himself exhausted by all of the running around. He knew after the first ride that he'd been on that brought him to Souldul that it would take a while and while he wanted to watch as they went he just couldn't. He was so tired that he might end up falling overboard and that wouldn't go well since he had no idea how to swim despite his love of the water. The nap was a nice one, one that was full of strange dreams like him running around chasing a frog that was the size of Erioda's Drakein and had the same whiskers that the beast had, another about him still searching for the letter that Arick asked him about even though in the dream he looked a lot older, as if he would find it years later, then a final one about someone telling him that they were in Serenia and that it was time to get up. The boy came awake with a start when he realized that he had actually reached his destination and that one of the sailors was trying to wake him up, "Ahh... sorry." He said, dragging himself up to his feet. Jun was quick to brush himself off before he was heading off of the ferry, yawning as he went. How sleepy he was, how he wanted to get home so that he could curl up in his own bed and sleep for a long, long while to make up for all the running around he'd done thus far. The nap had helped but a real sleep would be even better. Before he was able to think about sleep though he had to deliver the spikes to Arick and hope that it was the last errand that the big man was going to send him on. If there was another it would need to wait until after Jun had slept he thought to himself, smothering another yawn as he went. Upon reaching the place that Arick had his shop set up he dug around in his pocket once more, carefully removing the spikes, before he held them out to the large, dark haired Dovaa, "Got the spikes that you were needing. I hope that this one is in good enough condition, I found it stuck in a tree." He explained as he handed them over. Arick's Request If Arick only receives 2 out of the 3 items, than you receive just a Peisio Orb instead. " Well, you didn’t get everything, but you certainly did me a favor, so here, take this orb as thanks." After handing the spikes over to the man he found Arick handing him a beautiful and ornate blue orb that he was told was a Peisio orb after asking about it. It seemed that while he had failed to find the letter that the man was happy with him never the less for helping out, "Wow! Thank you!" He said, his eyes wide as he held up the orb so that he could inspect it. It was obvious that he hadn't really been expecting anything, having just wanted to help Arick out, especially after failing to do what the man had first requested of him which was to find that letter. He marveled over the orb for a moment more before he tucked it away into the pocket of his cloak, "Thank you so much! Today has been more fun then I have ever had and I have been able to see so many amazing things! I hope that I can help you again sometime so that I can see more." He told the man, smiling up at him brightly. "Time for me to head home though, it's getting late and I know my Mom is likely worried." He said, giving Arick a wave before he hurried off toward home. Best that he got back quickly before his mother got too worried about him and came looking for him. She was much to busy with her patients to worry about him, not when he was just fine and even had a wonderful prize to show for all of it!
