Ok...I'ved edited this yet again.
Members of the GAU. I call upon your talent. If you write poetry, and have a poem of your making that you would like to share, than share it here!
I'll start with mine. Roses are Blind(An Atheists Lament)
What sound is this? The sweet muted bell That tolls warmly Unheard by the deaf?
What color is this? Azure of the sky Bold blues Unseen by the blind?
How do you prove To those who can't see That the sky is blue?
How do you prove To those who can't hear That a bell has quite a melody?
Roses cannot see the sky They are blind Roses cannot hear a bell They are deaf
Tell me dear rose With petals aflame Everything I see and hear Are they not just illusions Of a twisted human mind?
Tell me dear thorns With ends so sharp Everything I feel and touch Are they not just simulations For what really isn't there?
There isn't really a sky is there? Or a heaven Or a hell What I see as reality Is not reality for all
A rose can feel only warmth From a sun it cannot see A rose can taste water Falling from a sky That exists only for those With eyes to see A rose is blind It cannot see
A perfect circle cannot exist If it isn't perfect for all There is nothing perfect There is no heaven There is no hell There is no god There is only illusion To please twisted human minds
Prove to the blind What color the sky is Prove to the deaf What sound a tolling bell makes Prove to me that there is a god Prove to the rose there is a sky That what cannot be proven That what disobeys Occams Razor Is a twist of the human mind
A sea parted by the will of a god? Prove it to me, A flood overtook the earth willed by god? Prove it to me, A mortal dead, arose to live, to preach his father's name? Prove it to me, A hell consumes the sinners? Prove it to me, Who are they, twisted mind, to judge what is a sin? Who are they, twisted mind, to paint a perfect heaven?
I envy the blind I envy the deaf I envy the crimson rose Who cannot hear, neither see Despite perceived disability The rose isn't handicapped at all It blossoms beautifully The blind rose.

I like it. ^^ I don't know if I'm completely clear on tying all of your imagery and such together, it gets kind of confused at points. But I think the main part of it about wanting proof and there being differences in perception ('What I see as reality Is not reality for all ') comes across well.

[.caustic.] I like it. ^^ I don't know if I'm completely clear on tying all of your imagery and such together, it gets kind of confused at points. Too much poetry and art as well focuses on perfect transition.
I tend to write my poetry in abstract form, and that goes for the way I draw also. Thanks for reading it!
Creativity, and the finished project...should flow like a cloud, shifting and ever-changing. That is the way I see it.

Thats a cool poem. I really like the imagery and stuff. Sorry, I'd be... better at this if I wasn't about to fall asleep. But yes, this was very good.

That was terrific! I completely understand all of what you mean. It's just sad that we need to WRITE such things to unteach others.

Hear? What is this "hear" you speak of? (I mean, write about?)

Omigawsh I think I just teared up a bit... (I had something in my eye beforehand anyway, but still...)
That was just beautiful. Perhaps the roses are enviable...

Miss Mistral Niiice. heart heart heart On a side note, do the deaf hear their thoughts? You know...that is a good question to ask.
Usually when people think, it is like hearing thier own voice inside thier head, and usually what they hear as thier thoughts is in thier first language. In a more simple way, I think in english because english is my first language.
I hear my thoughts based on what I hear as my voice.
If I were deaf....damn that is an interesting question.
For those who have never heard anything...what is their thought patterns like? I don't know...I would imagine that they can't hear they're own voice inside thier head if they don't know what sound is like to begin with.
Perhaps the deaf think in colors since they can see visual things. So thier thoughts would be in images instead of sound.

That'd be interesting to find out about o.o It's probably been researched. When you can hear you tie in the sounds to your thoughts and words so automatically it's hard to imagine not being able to.

I tried to think in colors and images a few minutes back. My mind went blank when I tried.
That would be an interesting project. To try to think in a way that does not use our connection to sound, or words. Instead, start thinking in colors and images...or try to at least.
It's pretty hard.

I got the idea of this one from one of the GAU banners + something that MoUsY said in one of the threads. So read this poem, enjoy it, and discuss it please:
My Fantasy and Your Fantasy
Sometimes it feels As though the world is against me Sometimes it feels As though from life I want to flee Sometimes reality evades my mind I realize that life is not so kind Somehow at those times I find fantasy a comfort
What fantasy do I follow? What delusions do I use? I choose to dream impossibilities I choose to dream of: Unknown realms and fantastic creatures Winged dragons with awsome features Endless galexies and different places Filled with species with different faces
As my sanity begins to decay I revel in my demented fantasy Reality is just a game they play To make acceptable the chaos of the day
My sanctuary, impossible dream Does not corrode my thinking The difference between Fantasy and reality One is imagined, and not real One isn't, it is the one you can truelly feel
Oh, followers of foolishness Fake dietys and gods You hold onto your delusions I'll hold onto my delusions My fantasy is here to stay Don't try to convert me Your fantasy has addled your brain It has driven logic from your name It has made you completely insane
What people thrive on fantasy What fools who try to make it real What idiots follow nothingness To worship on bended knee A fake illusion, no not me
Maggots, leave my fantasy alone Fester not in my sane head You feed upon minds already dead Do not tread where I dream Do not try to fix me Go fix yourself theistic worm.
