SIERRA ANCIETO
Artist Extraordinaire
Name: Sierra Ancieto
Nickname: Sie
Age: 14
Birthday: September 21st
Sign: Virgo
Gemstone: Chrysocolla
Blood Type: B positive
Fav. Food: Shrimp, anything with shrimp in it, especially paella. Spicy seafood dishes are her absolute favorite. Sierra rarely eats anything without peppers in it, as well.
Hated Food: Jellybeans, venison (no matter how much her dad says otherwise), and generally she is not fond of very sweet things.
School: Knightside Academy
Hobbies:Bead Jewelry -- If it is brightly colored, made of plastic, or sold at Claire’s then Sierra has a
passion for it. Countless plastic containers full of beads, spools of thread and elastic, line the shelves in her bedroom so that Sierra can create to her heart’s content. Her best friends are always showered in bracelets, necklaces, rings, anything that she can string together with colors that catch her eye. On days when she’s not required to wear her uniform the girl usually wears at least seven bracelets on each arm, two or three necklaces, and earrings she has designed herself.
Art -- Generally anything that is creative falls under Sierra’s aegis of ‘loving to do art’. Markers, crayons, pencils, she is the terror of the art class on tempera paint days. There’s a goofy story going around about how when she was five years old, her mother found her with a head full of glitter and glue. As such, she is not allowed to use those at home anymore! Put a blank pad of paper in her hand, give her something to work with, and you will have Sierra sitting quietly for quite some time.
Virtues:I Know What I Want: Sierra knows what she wants and what she is willing to do for it. Whether it’s for a little extra time before she has to go to bed, an extra half hour of TV for the week, or even bartering in the lunchroom for that unwanted piece of pizza, she doesn’t beat around the bush! This also applies to goals such as getting an A on one of her tests, making friends with someone, really anything that you could think of. Sierra is a top-notch achiever and is good at getting what she wants.
Sharing is Caring: And being that Sierra is a girl that is good at getting what
she wants, that means she is in a prime position to share the love with those closest to her. If a good friend decides that they want a piece of what she has then Sierra’s generally more than happy to share. The better the friend, the better the share! Her house is the house that all the kids tend to gather at when it’s time for a sleepover or weekend playtime because she never is stingy about her toys, is never stingy about her snacks, and will always have the
best things to do. Such as put glitter in their hair.
Composed: Emotionally composed, at the very least! Sure her room is a mess, her backpack is scribbled on with a million sharpies, and don’t even
think about looking in her desk but inwardly Sierra is the eye of the storm. Though she’s fully capable of a full range of emotion and easily displays what she is feeling, her emotions don’t seem to overwhelm or control her the way some of her friends’ do. When something makes her angry she goes sullen and quiet rather than yelling and screaming as her best friend is known for.
Sierra is excellent at getting to the heart of a problem and figuring out just what is wrong, before blazing forward to fix it. When combined with her lack of when to quit sometimes she makes the situation worse, but thankfully those situations are few and far between.
Flaws:Shifting Focus: Part of the reason that Sierra is so generally successful at her artistic endeavors is that because when her attention is on something, it’s like a laser beam. It’s sharp, it’s bright, and it’s fully focused. That, unfortunately, explains her entire attention span. It can only focus on one thing at a time, focused so fiercely that sometimes the world around her doesn’t even exist. Yet if you were to pull her attention away from that thing she was so heavily focused on, then allowed her to go back to it, you would see a great deal of frustration as well as a great deal of anger. The moment has slipped, passed away, and she’s just not interested in it anymore. Can she do something else now?
Do You Know When To Quit?: Sierra doesn’t. She has a hard time letting go of things, of ideas, of causes, something inherited and imparted by her mother. Sierra’s mother tends to get involved in various activist causes and has taught her child never to give up on something she believes in. Unfortunately for Sierra this means not giving up on
anything because she believes in it in that moment. She hasn’t quite yet learned that sometimes you have to know when to say when, you have to know when to stop arguing, you have to know when you’re being a jerk and need to apologize. Sierra tends to take everything just a step too far and hasn’t quite yet learned to realize that stopping point she badly requires.
Mess? What Mess?: So if you haven’t yet noticed this about Sierra, she is the kind of girl who doesn’t quite realize the chaos that sometimes surrounds her. Her bedroom, though her mother tries
valiantly to keep some sort of order, often looks like a hurricane has just blown through it. Years of artwork cover the walls in riotous colors, clothes litter the floor and if you’re not careful you’ll probably be wading into a minefield of assorted beads. Getting Sie to brush her hair? Dream on! She’s just too busy to worry about things like cleaning her room or putting her life in order. Besides, she knows where everything is! Sort of.
