I've always been told that when loading horses in a straight-load trailer that the heaviest horse should go behind the driver. Anyone else heard this? Or know why this is?
I understand why you want the heaviest horse in the front in a slant-load but I can't figure out why it matters in a straight-load (or if it even does).

When we load in our straight trailer we put our smallest male first the our female and last our biggest male or we put the biggest male in the front (our female always goes in the middle) but either way I see no difference..

I have always done and heard that as well of the heaver horse or only horse go on the drivers side. I don't remember why though.
