********* had easily given Lydia the instructions to lock the door on her way out of Ellie's place, also mentioning that she should close Ellie's door too so that Ellie's mother wouldn't be able to peer in by accident. Once the other girl had left, the feline turned back to face the two occupants of the room.

One was Ellie, who was still completely unconscious on the bed.

The other was Anemone. Though she was sitting upon the bed next to Ellie, she looked as if she was out of place.

It was probably the truth if ********* were to guess. Sure, Lydia had told Anemone that they should rest, filling in the language barrier for the guardian, but the way that the girl was looking at the moment did not read of exhaustion, not in the slightest.

Unfortunately, ********* did not speak Greek. Which led to perhaps a good 5 or 10 minutes of good ol' fashioned awkward silence. However, being the sort of cat she was, the awkward silence did get a slight buffer.

********* trotted up to Anemone's ankles before easily hopping up into the girl's lap. For those awkward minutes of silence, she curled up as if nothing was wrong. However, the gears in the Mauvian's mind were turning, since obviously the language barrier could prove to be a problem in a very short while.

Awkward silence. Awkward, awkward silence. One awkward for how awkward this silence was simply was not enough. Anemone didn't know what to do or say, simply sitting there awkwardly in awkward silence. Of course, soon her hands found their way to ********* fur and quickly slid along over the length of her belly. However, nothing was said or even attempted because Anemone still thought ********* simply didn't want to talk to her.

Perhaps it was that hand that ran across her body that helped relax the feline for a bit. Relaxing was what they both needed to do, and though it was obvious neither one of them was truly relaxed, any little bit helped.

The INTERNET!

The idea popped up in her head and soon enough her head jerked up to stare at the one object in Ellie's room that was rarely used. The tomboy wasn't a dinosaur when it came to technology, but she also didn't live and breathe the stuff like some people the Mauvian had come across. The computer was there, covered in a subtle layer of dust and a few papers over the keyboard.

Rising to her feet, the animal hopped off the girl's lap and hopped up onto the chair at the computer desk. From there she hopped up onto the desk and then meandered to the base of the computer. Pressing her nose against the power button, then moving to the monitor to do the same to power it up, she hopped back onto the computer chair.

"I think I might have figured something out... Anemone... It'd be handier if Ellie had some sort of software that had voice recognition or something of the likes... but I think we can make this work for now..." For a moment she turned in two circles, pausing after one to look at the silvery haired girl in the unicorn hoodie.

"Come, come!" she beckoned.

********* wasn't talking to her and now ********* was leaving her? Anemone's eyes watched her with interest as ********* scuttled over to the desk and then did something completely strange: Spoke to her even though she was the only one here in the room! Well, this unconscious girl was here too so Anemone had to give her head a tilt to see if the girl had suddenly woken up.

Nope.

A small smile fell on her face as she pushed herself off the bed and went to ********* side. She might have come but her face questioned what was going on entirely.

Anemone would be able to watch an interesting show once the computer had fully booted up.

The show was watching the cat using the computer!

It might have been odd to watch, but ********* at least knew what she was doing. When she needed to use the mouse, she had to carefully hop up and lean against it with her paws, only shifting to press a button when she needed to click.

Then the cat had to hop back into the chair, extend her claws, then type very carefully.

It was time consuming, but soon enough an internet window was open and on an English-to-Greek translator website.

In a box, the feline had written out a message before hopping up to click the mouse to get a Greek translation.

I am sorry I did not think of this sooner. I am sorry, but I do not speak Greek. If you type in the other box and click the button, this website should be able to translate what you write so I can understand it.

When she was finished, she mewled before hopping up onto the desk again and nudging the computer monitor to encourage her companion to read what was on the screen.

She watched.

She waited.

She tilted her head.

She moved the monitor left.

She moved the monitor right.

She tapped the monitor.

The computer simply couldn't boot up fast enough, nor could ********* get it to the translator site fast enough.

Anemone seemed mildly amused with the fact ********* was typing on the keyboard but when a cat talks everything else sort of goes under the wire. She might have been more amused if ********* typed faster but she didn't so Anemone found herself pacing back and forth around the desk until finally the screen change caught her attention.

She let out a gasp of surprise, leaping forward with a smile on her face. She could understand this! She took a minute to read it and understand it more fully before making an attempt to do what it said.

"Hm," she murmured.

She looked at the keyboard and then frowned.

She knew the Greek alphabet, and this keyboard was not that. How was she going to reply in Greek to have it translate to English like this? She clenched her face, and pressed her face against the screen as if she could just stick her head into it. Out of lack of ideas, Anemone began exploring the settings of the computer out of instinct more than memory. There had to be a solution right? There was but Anemone wouldn't find it on dumb luck.

What they needed was to go into the language settings of the computer and add a virtual Greek keyboard.

Frustrations. She felt so close yet so far but she couldn't write Greek words properly to have them translate without the Greek alphabet.

She looked to *********, looked to the translator, pointed and then looked back at *********. Finally, she pointed to the keyboard.

"Wrong," she said, clinching her face.

There was a smile for a brief moment before it rather quickly turned sour. Initially the manx just tilted her head curiously as she watched Anemone fuss with the computer. When she wasn't able to succeed in whatever it was she was doing, the girl proclaimed what the problem was and the cat's head righted itself back to its standard position.

"...Oh... you are right... silly me!" With a mindful hum, the cat joined in the "fussing around on the computer" game. However, the Mauvian seemed to be a bit more successful than the girl. Soon enough a small keyboard display showed up on the computer monitor and it had characters on it a bit more familiar to the Grecian girl.

"...okay... now give it a try?"

Anemone watched the screen, ocassionally looking back to look at Ellie on the bed. For a moment she found herself wandering away from ********* as she fiddled, and wandering right over to the bed. There she stood over Ellie, watching her sleep with curiosity. This girl seemed to do nothing but sleep, was she really asleep or was she dead? Tactlessly, she found herself reaching to poke the girl in the face before ********* announced something to her.

She didn't know what she said but when she got back to the computer she noticed that there was now a Greek input keyboard floating around. It took a bit of fiddling on her part, mostly trying to figure out which keys made which letter but eventually she scribbled something out and pressed the translate button.

Hello, is she dead?

It seemed quite polite but translators only did so much.

********* was quite proud of the fact she had managed to find a functional solution.

However, she couldn't say she expected that to be the first thing to get asked on the translator.

Which a hint of a chuckle escaping the animal, the cat carefully typed out a response more drawn out than a simple nod or shake of the head.

No, she is just sleeping. She is very tired.

Anemone looked from the translated text on the monitor back to Ellie on the bed before smiling a little. It was good she wasn't dead. What would they have been doing with a dead body? Her thoughts wildly spun off into that thread of thoughts until finally she typed something on the translator and pressed translate.

How great...

There was something here that didn't get translated properly. She probably spelled it wrong, she hadn't been that great with academics.

I'm in the business of dragging dead people around.

All right, so she spelled a lot of things wrong there but it wasn't her fault... it was the keyboard's fault! Truthfully, it was her fault but she wouldn't ever admit that and for once it was actually because she didn't know she was horrible with academics and not because she was proud as a king. Whatever troubles the translator and her had, the sentence finally ended.

Are you?

That was perhaps the most odd thing to read. Within moments, the cat had cocked her head 90 degrees to the side, trying to figure out what in the world Anemone could have possibly been trying to say.

It was quite clear that this was not a fool proof manner of talking, thanks to the limited amount of AI that was available on Earth.

...but 'the business of dragging dead people around'...?

There was no way for ********* to salvage the topic by any means.

The easiest route to go at this point would be a redirect, but what would the feline come up with in regards to the change of topic?

With her little claws, she proceeded to click at the keyboard until she had a message typed out, and soon enough translated it for Anemone's benefit.

Are you hungry? We need to stay quiet, but I can try to get you food if you want.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 16, 2013 8:17 pm

Anemone might have spent longer lingering on the topic that she felt ********* was ignoring but the fact was she was starving. She didn't know it but the last time she'd eaten anything was almost a day ago, and it hadn't been anything major. In the midst of all the excitement, it certainly hadn't been the first thing on her mind. If she thought about it, she quickly shifted her thoughts to the pressing matters at hand. Protecting ********* from Irene had been number one, and right behind it was bringing Ellie home afterward.

Hands holding her stomach, she shifted her head to *********. She didn't need the keyboard for this. She simply nodded her head to the cat. It worked out nicely since ********* had also said they needed to be quiet.

********* easily perked up as the girl agreed to getting food. Leave it to ********* to use food as a distraction! Eagerly, she hopped out of the chair and scrambled her way to the bedroom door. Obviously, she couldn't go much further than such, so she turned back to Anemone and gestured to the door with her head. ********* could lead the way, but obstacles would need to be tended to by the foreign girl!
PostPosted: Fri Apr 19, 2013 9:37 pm

Anemone stared at *********, and after a moment she shuffled across the floor and opened the door. Oh, the world out there? She popped her head out the door curiously with no regard of what could be there.

The manx slipped out from the bedroom, and soon enough she was leading the way to the stairs. She continually looked back to make sure Anemone was following and not sneaking off into the other rooms. Last thing Ellie's parents needed was to get a rude awakening by a complete stranger in the middle of the night.

The chubby animal made her way down the stairs, one little animal hop at a time, and soon enough she made her way to the kitchen. If the Guardian knew Ellie's parents well enough, they would just assume that Ellie was the one who had pigged out.

With a nod of her head, the feline signaled to Anemone that she could open the fridge and have at the leftovers.
