Ami sat in the library, buried under books both metaphorically and phsyically. Physically, as she was in the library with mountains around her. She'd looked for anything referencing books or power in Sweden. She felt as though she'd been running around in circles, examining the same pieces over and over.

All at once it struck her. Move a few letters around. Codex. It was a Codex.

---

It was so stupidly simple. Here she'd been crossreferencing, reading for days on end when it was right under her nose the entire time. Well not under her nose, that was a bit too dramatic. It was more like it'd been posted on a sign in front of her that she'd been too lazy to read.

The Codex Gigas. Once she'd figured the name out, the rest was easy. Too easy for her liking, actually. She felt as though it should've taken more effort, more gusto to find this supposedly powerful book, yet all it really took? A google search, and a click on the wikipedia page. The description on wikipedia was a bit ... different from the notes she'd taken, but then, many things in the "human" world were not what they seen.

For example, she'd noted that the book supposedly held countless descriptions of demons, yet the humans only knew of one. Perhaps they couldn't decipher it? Perhaps FEAR was altering the visibility of the information. Hexes and curses- it was all rather Hollywood, but she assumed a witch of some sort could probably alter the book as such. Whatever the reason was, it was all very shrouded in mystery.

The first thing she knew was that unless the National Library of Sweden felt particularly generous, there was no way to get it. The second thing she knew was that to understand the discrepancies, she need to be in possession of the book.

Well that was useful.

There was only one solution. Write a letter to the big man on top. Of the life division, that is.

Dr. H,

I have reason to believe there is an artifact in Sweden. It is known as the Codex Gigas, commonly referred to as the "Devil's Bible." From what I have gathered, it is an encyclopedia of sorts on demons. I believe it would be in our best interests to recover this book, as it could provide priceless intel for our research.

Enclosed with this letter are my research notes which reinforce my claim. I will not waste your time repeating them here.

Considering we've infiltrated more complicated mechanisms than human devices, I will not require more than a handful of trainees and one skilled Death hunter to provide us with intel- I would like to request Gale Gentry, as he has significant experience. Additionally I will require the necessary equipment for such a break in- headsets, radars; there is a list in the aforementioned research notes.

Thank you for your consideration.

Ami would find a handwritten note on her desk the next day.

Ambitious, aren't we? Do have a care with the equipment. - H

Text from Clarice:

The doctor has approved of three trainees to work under you for this project. However, it'll be up to you to bring in Gale. I took a look at your notes, and it does sound like a worthwhile lead, but be careful, this sort of item tends to attract trouble.

Preparations were such a hassle. She'd already groveled for supplies once- having to do it twice? Not her favorite thing.

Ami made a note to never ask for nice things again.

Caelius,

I have received approval for an artifact extraction mission from the Doctor. Gale Gentry has agreed to assist me in this endeavor.

As per his request, I would like to receive permission to take two death trainees with me on the external affair, to provide additional visual, intel, etc. Jake Cross and Deryk Bond are our preferred individuals. Deryk is especially key as our research tells us there will most likely be a lock mechanism to hack- I have heard he has exceptional skill with hacking.

Dr H.,

Upon insisting Gale Gentry's assistance, he requested two death trainees to go on the external trip. I have made the appropriate arrangements with "his highness."

Ami would not receive a reply because certain people had better things to do in their time than waste their precious time. Not to mention there wasn't a single proper noun in the text that was actually appealing of any sort.

Ms. Raine,
Should you break or otherwise lose any minions, you'll be responsible for finding their replacements.

PS: Cael is more malleable when you send him chocolates and high end hair product.
