Her dorm room was stifling lately, and the more she tried to work in confined spaces, the more cramped it felt. Frustrated by the onsetting wanderlust, Steffani shoved a few things into her purse and shoved on her heels, grabbing a jacket in case it was cold and walking out of her room. Already, it felt loads better. Maybe her heat was on the futz. Hmf. Regardless, the Patchwork ghoul headed outside of the Undead dormitory and looked around, letting her feet wander where they wanted to.

Soon, she found herself in an unfamiliar part of campus. There was a bench near the casketball courts outside. A few boils were playing there, but she didn't think it'd be a problem. Carting her sketchbook and her purse with her, Steffani went over to the bench and sat down, setting her purse next to her and flipping her sketchbook open.

The dribbling eventually got to her, so Steffani dug out her eyePod and turned on an old album, listening to her music as she began to sketch out some dramatic designs. She wasn't comfortable sewing much more than purses and little accessories, but eventually...

Well, who didn't want to make a pretty clingy-in-all-the-right-places truly devestating dress?

She soon became utterly immersed in her own world, forgetting all about the boils to her left and the distractions to her right. She paused briefly, twisting her wrist, and made a mental note to tighten her stitches later. But not now. The creative juices were flowin'.

It had been a nice day outside so the boil was not surprised to find other people at the casketball court when he arrived. Soon enough he was engaged in a heated game for various spoils with the other boils. The game had been in play for a little while now and things were just starting to get back into his favor when the monster boil he was playing with got a little too worked up. He slung the ball at the casket and ended up sending the casketball off the rim with a loud thudding sporing sound. Spinar made a leap at it but given his even shorter height without his heels, he barely brushed the casketball with his fingertips before it flew from his grasp.

Snapping his head like most of the other boils in the court he watched as the ball went flying out, with an impressive speed mind you, from the courts gated section. Spinning wildly the ball hurled through the air and off to the side, Spinar rushed out of the gate to watch it stupefied like the other boils.

"Look out! " He barely managed to call along with another boil, as their gaze followed the path of the ball right for a ghoul sitting nearby. The only thing the frost demon could really think of was ouch. Of course he hadn't realized it yet but the other boils were already fleeing from the potential scene of the crime leaving him standing alone at the gates.

When someone yells look out, typically one of two reactions happen: You either look up like an a** and get hit in the face, or you look up and manage to somehow cover your face from being hit. Steff fell into the latter category, hearing the yell just as there was a brief pause in her playlist. She looked up sharply, eyes widening, and threw both hands up with her sketchbook to try and block the ball.

It worked.

Ish.

The casketball bounced of her knuckle and the book, but the force of it managed to send both her book, her pencil, and, well… Her hand… flying.

She stared, eyes wide as the other boils fled the scene, at Spinar.

"Seriously?!" Fuming, the Patchwork got up, yanking her eyePod buds out of her ears, and started to get down on her knees to try and find where her hand had flown to. It wasn't within close range. "Perfect. Just freaking perfect." She ranted, brushing grass off her as she sat up, putting the sketchbook that had been under the bench on her bag and getting up.

"That was a terrible shot!" She criticized, looking around for her stupid hand. The stitching had been bad for weeks. This is what happens when you don't practice good hygienes, kids. Frost demons knock your limbs off.

*cackles* It's perfect sweets, I like it. XD Might be a bit slowish with replies, depending on how my paper goes. :]

Oh quick reflexes for a ghoul, he admired as the she managed to avoid a hit to the face. However his admiring gaze quickly turned into that of a stunned and slightly amused one when he noticed, well, an appendage flying off, he couldn't follow it however considering as soon as it was noticed he was nearly doubled over. Abruptly laughing aloud he put a hand over his face to try to calm down.

Did. Did that just happen? Holy Jack. That was amazing! He questioned himself inwardly, laughing there too. His laughter only lessened to a small chuckle when he glanced back towards the ghoul and noticed her staring at him, so accusingly. When she got on her knees to look for her hand he winced and figured helping her might be in order only he still couldn't get a hold on his giggles and really did have to tease.

At the sass of criticism he smirked wide and started towards her, "I'll agree, since it wasn't mine. Here let me give you a hand." Spinar wasn't the type that even considered 'to soon', so he purposely purred the last part in a teasing manner as he approached the ghoul. Starting over he paused a few steps from the patchwork so his chilly aura wouldn't bother her. "That's if you'll let me make up for not catching the ball?" Spinar put on his best attempt at a charming smile, laughter now fully in control and cut off.

She expected the laughing. Maybe if it was someone else, she'd probably have laughed too, briefly. She looked over at the boil, crossing her arms over her chest and squinting her eyes at him. =u= His pun, though. That was terrible.

"Ha. Ha ha ha. Ha. How clever. Crypt Rock, everyone." She scoffed a bit, looking around to get a peg on where her hand had flown off to. "How nice of you to offer." She looked over, smiling slowly. "You can help by finding my runaway hand."

Steff stepped away from Spinar, looking around as she walked away from the bench, fuming a little. It had to be around there somewhere. A couple minutes went by before she realized that it wasn't on the ground anywhere, so she looked up.

Of course it's in a tree.

-.-

"Alright. Great." She said, walking up to the tree and looking up at her hand. She turned on her heel, eying Spinar closely. "Can you climb?" She would, but she was a bit handicapped at the moment.

The folded arm stance gave her away, though with all that sass coming from the patchwork he somehow doubted she'd even try to hide being annoyed at him. He liked it even more when they bit back, it was funnier that way, chuckling he pocketed his hands and watched her behind amused blues. Can't win them all he mused to himself and only grinned wider, giving a small bow of his head even at the Crypt Rock crack. "Thank you, thank you. I did think that was rather good..but it's Siku actually." Snorting gently he gave her a wink after his 'name', then moved his hands from his pockets and leaned at the waist to peer around where she was searching.

"Isn't it? Alright...let's see if we can't find it.." As the Ghoul walked away he might of peered back to check her out for a brief second but quickly moved into searching mode. After having no luck searching the ground, Spinar was seriously considering bailing on the ghoul since it was only getting hotter. His tail swished irritably behind him as he moved over towards the ghoul.

"Climb." The tone of the repeated word likely gave away that while he could climb it wasn't something he fancied. The frost demon wiped a small bead of sweat from his brow and sighed when noticing the appendage in the tree. "You know...why don't we just try waving at it, maybe it will fall?" Smirking he stole a glance to the ghoul then chuckled and started at the tree. Climbing swiftly towards the hand at a steady pace, however as he ascended one of the trees branches managed to catch on the side of his muscle shirt, ripping a small unnoticeable hole.

Pausing on the branch just below the arm he stood carefully and reached for the severed limb, "you know...it's not everyday I get to rescue an arm from a tree.." Grinning down he touches the fingers on the arm and locks around them with his own, pulling it down towards him gently so it doesn't snag on the smaller branches. Swinging down he sits on the lowest branch and gives her a devious eye, " I believe this is yours, Miss. " Holding the arm out towards her good hand he waits.

She looked over at his introduction, glowering for a split second over her shoulder at him. Whatever. No harm done. … Minus the flying appendage, or whatever. "Steffani." She said finally, brushing herself off and moving onward.

If Steffani noticed the brief checking out, she didn't react to it. To be honest, she hadn't noticed it, not even a little. She'd been far too into the hunt, so when they finally found it in the tree… Meh. She looked over, deadpan. "Sure, give it a wave." The face was blank, until he started moving. Steffani looked relieved then, and watch Spinar climb his way up. She lit up a little when Spinar got to her hand, snorting at the joke. "Don't fall out of the tree until after you give that back." She joked, sarcasm dripping off her tongue. She smirked a little up at him, rolling her eyes, and reached up to grab the lost limb.

"Thanks." She said, regarding him briefly. Now, whether by chance, or by the virtue of her own constant checking for holes in her clothes, she spotted the hole in Spinar's. "Oh. You ripped your shirt." She frowned a little, pointing at the little hole there. Sure, it was little now, but give it a day and let the moths get at it and that shirt was a goner for sure!

As if this were normal (well, to be honest, it sort of was…) Steffani put her unhinged hand under her good arm, and waved at him to come down. "I can fix it, if you want. Tit for tat, or something." She smirked a bit, arching an eyebrow at him. The offer was on the table; she'd have to dig out her thread to sew her limb back on anyway.

No worries! :] End of semester for me, so I'll be pretty distant.

Eyeing the deadpanned look the boil shook his head. "Are you always such a scream, Steffani?" He chuckled, highly amused with her unimpressed attitude. Silly Ghoul, didn't she know that only made him want to try harder? Spinar grinned a toothy grin to his own thoughts, determined now to get at least one laugh before the end of this...oh so interesting meeting. Though it was fun to mildly annoy others like this as well, such hard decisions.

This one should come with a warning, that sarcasm was taking on a whole new meaning to making up for lost limbs. "Ouch." The frost demon laughed, dramatically placing her hand over his chest in a shocked look, "I'm hoping that means just so you could catch me." Smirking back he teased a pull up of the hand keeping it out of reach for a moment before letting her have it.

"You are very welcome." He over-does it, obviously on purpose, though is rather proud of himself for scaling up the tree. A rip!? Few things worried him, though when it came to his belongings, clothes or otherwise there were nerves. "What?" A frown lit his lips as he look over the small hole, it wasn't to bad but this was unacceptable for all the sass he had went through. Luckily the wave caught his attention before anger could boil, shimmying down from the branch he lands on his feet with a thud then blinks at the ghoul.

Fix it. Well she had jack well better, he hissed internally before putting on a smile for show, not wanting to risk losing the fix.

"Fair enough, thanks." Raising an elegant brow back at her he motions towards the bench and looks to the hand under her good arm, "I do hope you'll be taking care of that first.." A grin was given, though he was serious, the demon didn't need a lopsided patchjob. "Not to be rude but, color me curious...does this happen often enough that you by chance keep thread on you?" More than curiosity he was hoping not to have to go far.

"Well, unless you want me to try sewing it with one hand..." She said slowly, smirking a little as she walked back to the bench and sat down. Steffani put her loose hand down, and shifted the purse into her lap, digging through for some thread and a good needle.

At his inquiry, she looked up, opening her mouth for a split second before closing it to think. Then she shrugged. "I'd really love to lie and say no, but, well..." She pulled out a needle, setting it down, and dug out one -- of many, I promise you. -- of her spools of thread. "You learn to be well prepared."

Snorting softly, Steffani threaded the needle, quite adept for a one-handed ghoul, and started to reattach the wayward limb. As she stitched herself back together, she couldn't help but think. And think aloud. "So, do you make a habit of meeting people like this?" She smirked a little as she stitched. "'Cause if that's the case, I can't imagine you've got a lot of good experiences goin' on." Steffani looked up, grinned, then looked back at her work, stitching up her wrist carefully.

"While that would be oh so exciting, I'd rather not risk getting my skin stitched to my shirt." He replied just as slowly back, a grinning glint to his pale blue eyes. Spinar followed her towards the bench with a head tilt to the purse. Those things he still didn't understand and knew he likely wouldn't unless he magically became a ghoul. Though the boil would admit as she dug through the thing and pulled out a spool of thread that they were useful.

Prepared huh?

Patchworks worse enemy missing limbs and no thread. Grinning at his own thoughts the boil just shook his head to her and gave a 'tch' sound from the side of his mouth.

Watching Steffani idly he could tell that she obviously had done this many times before, in fact her one-handed sewing wasn't to shabby. Her questioning about his first meetings had the frost demon grinning from ear to ear and moving back on the heels of his shoes. Looking with a roll of his eyes to the left, grin still in place, he answered, "what? I always try to make a memorable first impression, can't say you'll forget me now can you?" Turning back he shot a victoriously mischievous wink.

"Besides isn't this much more interesting of a meeting than it would have been if I had simply walked up and introduced myself?" Once Steffani looked nearly done with her arm, he figured it was time for his shirt. Logically he thought the best way to go about taking care of the rip would be for him to remove his shirt so she could get at it easier. With a push of the casketball between his legs Spinar started to take off his shirt. For a moment he as the black fabric covered his eyes he had to be grateful it wasn't drenched in his own sweat, or smelly, not only would that be gross but maybe a little embarrassing given the situation.

Rolling his shoulders back the pale blue bodied boil took a seat next to the ghoul on the bench, straightening out his shirt and finding the rip or her. Poking a finger through it he held it up and teased, " just remember its a patch job, no giving me a purple pony or anything." Pulling his finger back out Spinar leaned against the bench, his back catching some heat from it and causing him to stiffen slightly at the shoulders.

Steff snickered a little at the idea; it wouldn't be the first time she'd pricked another monster. First time she'd sewn them to their shirt, though... "I'll have you know I'm practically a pro at this." She remarked, rolling her eyes a little at him and grinning in spite of herself. "You certainly make an impression," She agreed, eyes gleaming as she looked up at him. "Whether it's a good one, or a bad one..."

Well.

Why spoil the fun of guessing?

"Oh, yeah. Way more interesting." She deadpanned, finishing up her arm and waving it carefully to test the stitches. "Not necessarily the most chivalrous entrance, but definitely 'interesting'." She smirked, watching him take the shirt off and pausing to, well... Appreciate the boil. Right. Yes.

She laughed when he poked his finger through it, reaching over to take the shirt. "That's gonna make it worse." She pointed out, grinning a little as she examined the hole. "It's small enough; I should be able to sew it together without patching. A lot less obvious." She explained, flipping the shirt inside out to look it over.

"Yeah, that should work..." She dug out black thread, starting to work on the shirt quickly. Such a little hole was nothing, really, and in no time at all, Steff snipped the excess thread, and flipped it right side out, eying where the hole had been. "There you go. Good as new." She smirked, holding the shirt out again. "You can stop flashing the community."

He didn't doubt her when she said that she was a pro, her demonstration spoke for itself. What he did doubt however was all that sass, the grin practically gave her away, or so he thought. Spinar now knew that she was totally into him, and so a new found confident twinkle took place in the boils eyes. "..Haha..You know you can stop pretending you aren't enjoying my company.." He chuckled while looking down to her as she left his impression on a cliff hanger. Teasing he added, "I promise I won't think any less of you."

This was turning out to be the most entertaining thing that had happened to him since arriving.

Which was kind of sad, somewhat at least.

Spinar hadn't notice the once over given to him, though he did catch the corner of her eye as she looked away. As Steff laughed though he counted a silent victory. Letting the shirt go as she reached for it he shrugged softly and watched her examine it. "Fantastic..." He was pleased the stitching wouldn't be obvious, this was a somewhat favored shirt after all. To pass the short time, since he was the restless type, Spinar joked with a look to the courts, "you should think about starting a business, you've got the cheap verbal abuse down and a fairly decent skill"

Admiring the stitching job he nodded gratefully the gave praise where it was due."Looks great thanks" Reaching for the shirt he gives the ghoul a charming as can be smile. Looking down over himself at the flashing comment he laughs aloud and glances around for a moment, "and ruin the view? I suppose." He sighed the last part dramatically before shaking his head and pulling on his shirt. Once the wrinkles were smoothed out he turned back to Steff and tiled his head curiously, "color me curious but what were you doing lounging in the danger zone anyways?" Didn't she know why this bench was always unoccupied? Well if not now she certainly did.

"Trust me," She deadpanned as she worked. "I'm not that good an actress." Steff smiled a bit at the suggestion, shaking her head.

"Nah. I've got somewhere to be when I get out of here." She'd go home and be the good Assistant her Creator wanted. Simple as that. Sewing was just a useful skill to pass the time with. She smirked slightly at the praise, nodding. "You're welcome."

Steff grinned at him, shaking his head, and looked around. "Honestly? I didn't realize this was a danger zone." She snorted softly. "Until riiiight around the time a ball came at my head," She flashed him a pointed look. "I just assumed I'd be sitting outside. I came out to work on some designs, my dorm's been stifling lately."

Which was funny, since the undead dorms were always kept fairly frigid… Regardless. "I didn't expect to be assaulted by a casketball to the face." She scoffed, sitting back on the bench. "I'll have to remember that for next time."

"I refuse to believe that," he just smiled watching her as she worked. Noting her smile Spinar stretched back on the bench and looked out over the campus grounds. Smugly believing he was so winning at this little game. Typically he would have been alarmed by now at how casual he was getting, but at the moment he was much to caught up to think about that.

"Oh?.." Giving a curious brow he turned his attention back to Steff, wondering just where it was she had to be, but not really expecting an answer to the absent oh.

A simple nod was given to the welcome as he pulled his shirt on over his head. At the pointed look he put a hand over his chest and batted his lashes innocently. "Live and learn hm?" Spinar chuckled teasingly before shaking his head. Choosing to take the switch of subject he leaned in a little closer to the ghoul and inquired with a genuinely interested look, "designs? I'll bite, what was it you were working on, if you don't mind sharing?" Spinar was half about fashion, at least the real him was, and if she was the type that could design cool things well befriending her might prove useful for more than banter.

At least for him.

"Mm." Steff nodded a bit to his curious brow, smirking. But she didn't elaborate. It was... complicated.

She looked over, eying him when Spinar inquired about her designs. "Don't drop it." She pointed at him, then withdrew her sketchbook, holding it out. "I'm working on a couple things. The last page is the newest one." She'd been sketching a fancy, flowy dress. There were little pictures of minipets paperclipped to the page.

Dress inspired by mini pets? Why not!

"It's a series of sketches." She explained, waving a hand flippantly. "Just a hobby. I'm not as good with sewing full outfits as I am with purses and mending." She smirked a bit, shrugging. "But it's fun. And relaxing." She paused to consider. "...usually." =.=
