Kadryn Chooses Light!

Light Side: Anodyne
Prompt itself

For whatever reason, you are on Eowyn. Perhaps you have come looking for Kiandri or Firani Dragons to kill. Or maybe you have come to steal Drakein eggs or possibly just exploring this dry land.

As you wander the desert you spot a strange cave entrance in the side of a sand dune. When you go to investigate you can see that after the tunnel goes down somewhat there is a wooden door.

If you knock on the door continue reading, otherwise leave and do not continue this adventure.

Kadryn was out wandering the Deserts of Eowyn, searching for Grrel's clan. She'd been hinting about how'd she'd wanted to meet Grrel's clan; after all Grrel had meet her family, but Grrel kept putting her off. "It's too dangerous, they don't trust you, give me time to convince them" excuse after excuse. Well, Kadryn decided that since she knew the desert fairly well and was strong enough to take on a Firani, one of the more dangerous creatures on Eowyn, then she could go out and hunt them down herself!
She didn't want to hurt them or steal eggs,m she just wanted to meet them. Who wouldn't? An entire clan of Drakein? Fascinating!

As she was soaring out and about in the bright blue desert sky, she saw a strange sight. A cave in the side of a hill.. how... odd.
Curious, Kadryn fluttered down and landed in front of it. Inside the cave she saw a door.. curiouser and curiouser. All thoughts of finding Grrel's clan vanished, this was so much for interesting! She walked forward and knocked loudly on the door.

Light Side: Anodyne

"Ah! Just as I was about to leave a visitor arrives! How delightful." you sense no menace from her as she invites you in.

"Please, come in, come in! Would you like anything to drink? I know how the desert can make one so very thirsty. Unfortunately, I cannot offer more than tea or water at the moment." she says as she steps back and allows you to enter.

The room you enter is clean and rather light for a cave. The floor, walls, and ceiling are all made up of stone, though plush carpets cover the floor. There are some woven tapestries depicting scenes of flying dragons and Drakein upon the walls. There is only one chair in the corner; the rest of the furniture appears to be made up of low tables and large cushions. Perhaps the majority of her visitors aren’t Magescian at all? She waves at you to take a seat somewhere.

"Oh, how rude of me. I almost forgot to introduce myself. I am Anodyne, one of the Drakeinian leaders." she says with a smile before continuing on.

"I know this may sound rather presumptuous of me; but would you care to do me a favor? I was just about to leave and gather some ingredients that I need for an enchantment; but I do have some rather urgent business keeping me here that I would rather not leave if at all possible. Could I rely upon you to go gather them for me?” she asks.

"I would be willing to give you a Dragon Orb as well as a Ysali Dragon's Tear in return for this favor." she waves her hand at a glowing orb and tear shaped gem on the single self in the room. You recognize the orb as an Aedaun Dragon Soul Orb, though you have never seen a real one before, there are plenty of pictures of them.

Should you accept, go to "Task 1".
Should you refuse, go to "Quit".

A tall and majestic figure opened the door. She looked like a cross between Grrel and a Dovaa to Kadryn's eyes. Strange and dangerous, but beautiful at the same time.

She looked around at the clean and tidy room. There was a ton of pillows and carpets... kinda like what Grrel had in her cave.

"I'd like water, thank you." Kadryn spoke cautiously as she sat down on one of the larger cushions and leaned back to observe the odd woman and her lovely cave. She was about to ask a question when the strange woman spoke again.

"Oh, how rude of me. I almost forgot to introduce myself. I am Anodyne, one of the Drakeinian leaders." she says with a smile before continuing on.

"Ah, nice to meet you, I'm Kadryn." She held her hand out to shake, "Drakeinian? Is that like Drakein?"

"Yes, we are the oldest and strongest of our kind. This form," She gestured to her body, "Is proof of our power and strength."
"I know this may sound rather presumptuous of me; but would you care to do me a favor? I was just about to leave and gather some ingredients that I need for an enchantment; but I do have some rather urgent business keeping me here that I would rather not leave if at all possible. Could I rely upon you to go gather them for me?
” she asks.

"I would be willing to give you a Dragon Orb as well as a Ysali Dragon's Tear in return for this favor." she waved her hand at a glowing orb and tear shaped gem on the single self in the room.

Kadryn looked interested, the orb was a definite bribe that she was willing to take!
"Sure I can help! What'ha need done?" She grinned cheekily up at Anodyne.

Task 1
She thanks you for helping her, claiming it will be a huge help. Her first task for you to do is to go to Serenia and gather some of the golden sand from Lake Amafel's banks.
This will take IC time to get there and back. Feel free to RP whatever adventures or misadventures you have along the way.
Roll 1d100.
1-20: Failure! You get the sand but as you go back to Anodyne, disaster strikes and the container is broken and the sand blows away in the wind. Return to her with nothing. Go to Failure.
21-99: Success! You get the sand and return to Anodyne. You may choose to give the sand to her or say you failed (if you do this you keep the sand). Go to Success if you give it to her. Go to Failure if you keep it.
100: You get 2 of the item! You may choose to keep them both or give one to Anodyne. Go to Success if you give one to her. Go to Failure if you keep both.

Kadryn headed out back to her home continent and flew through the night before she landed on the banks of Lake Amafel's banks. Tired from her long flights, she curled up and slept in a tree along the banks of the lake. In the morning, wakened by the cheerful cries of birds and the warmth of the dawning sun, Kadryn hopped down to the ground and stretched. Pulling out the vial she'd been given by the strange red lady, Kadryn bent down and gathered up some sand. She then grabbed some fruits from a tree nearby to eat as she flew back to Eowyn. One task down, two to go!

Success
She praises you and thanks you for your hard work, her face reveals that she is thankful for you taking on this task for her. You’ve allowed her to focus on whatever important chore she needed to do. The more you succeed, the happier she gets.

Go to the next Task or Final if you have just finished Task 3.

Kadryn landed upon the dune that held the cave of Anodyne. Skipping cheerfully in, she handed over the golden sand to her. Why would she want to keep it? She practically lived on the banks and the sand held almost no value to her.

"Ah! Thank you so much Kadryn." Anodyne smiled gently at the young adult before her. "I have a second task for you to do since you have shown you are trustworthy..."

Task 2

Task 2
Her next task is for you to go to Lake Tyluafel and bring back some of its healing waters.
This will take IC time to get there and back. Feel free to RP whatever adventures or misadventures you have along the way.
Roll 1d100.
1-20: Failure! You get the water but as you go back to Anodyne, disaster strikes and the container is broken and the water drains away into the ground. Go to Failure.
21-99: Success! You get the water and return to Anodyne. You may choose to give the water to her or say you failed (if you do this you keep the water). Go to Success if you give it to her. Go to Failure if you keep it.
100: You get 2 of the item! You may choose to keep them both or give one to Anodyne. Go to Success if you give one to her. Go to Failure if you keep both.

Kadryn flew back yet again to her home continent... First Lake Amifel now Lake Tyluafel. Why hadn't Anodyne just told her she needed the water AND the sand before sending her off? This was really tiring flying back and forth...

Oh well, perhaps she had needed the one and then only just now figured out she needed the waters? Kadryn shrugged as she landed in front of her home. Since it was night time, she might as well sleep here and see her family before getting the waters...

Her family was rather intrigued with her strange tasks. Though Laasya suggested that this Anodyne was probably creating potions or spells since the healing waters and golden sands of Serenia's lakes were often used int hem...

The next day Kadryn flew back yet again to Eowyn to hand off her prize.

"At least I'm getting practice flying and strengthening my wings," she muttered as the landed in front of Anodyne's home.

Once again Kadryn was greeted with relief and a smile of thanks. Apparently she'd just saved Anodyne a lot of time.. though, Kadryn thought to herself, if she'd just gone and done one trip to both lakes at once it would have been even faster.

Anodyne smiled, "One last task for you and then you may have your reward..."

Task 3

Task 3

Her last and final task is for you to go back to Serenia once again and go look along Lake Tyluafel‘s eastern bank in the early morning and look for a softly glowing herb called the Gold Petalia.

This will take IC time to get there and back. Feel free to RP whatever adventures or misadventures you have along the way.

Rol 1d100.
1-20: Failure! You search but can’t find the herb. Go to Failure.
21-99: Success. You find the herb and return to Anodyne. You may choose to give the plant to her or say you failed (if you do this you keep the light herb). Go to Success if you give it to her. Go to Failure if you keep it.
100: You get 2 of the item! You may choose to keep them both or give one to Anodyne. Go to Success if you give one to her. Go to Failure if you keep both.

Kadryn sighed as she left Eowyn for her home once more.
"This would have been a heck lot easier if she'd just said I need these three items and where to find them instead of all this flying back and forth.. I could have gotten them in one day... "Kadryn grumbled to herself.

She arrived at sunset in front of her home. Walking in once more she picked up her little brother as she tried to toddle out the door naked.

"Did you escaped from the bath again, Fallon?" She laughed as her squirmed and tried to escape to the freedom of outside. Laasya came out, her skirt soaked in water and holding the towel she'd trued to dry him with.

"Oh thank goodness you caught him! I swear, he's worse than you were about taking baths! But why are you back so earlier? Did you finish the tasks already?"
Kadryn laughed and told her mother that this next one she had to find a herb that you had to pick in the early morning apparently...

That night, Kadyrn cooked dinner and told her little brother stories until he fell asleep. She then followed him to bed so she could wake up earlier the next day and find the plant she needed too.

Dawn found Kadryn out hunting along the banks, looking for this odd plant. Apparently it was supposed to glow or something... And then she saw a soft golden glow coming from some cattails along the banks. Smiling to herself she quickly gathered up one plant, leaving the rest to their glowing lives as she flew for the third time to Eowyn. Her prize carefully stashed in her old bag.

Final
If you gave Anodyne all 3 of the items, then you receive the Aedaun Orb and Ysali Dragon's Tear. If she only receives 2 out of the 3 items then you receive an Aiskala Orb instead. If she receives only one item then you only get a Firani Orb. If she gets nothing she sends you away with nothing but her disappointment and a a declaration that you need to try harder not to fail.

Kadryn landed for the third time in front of the sand dune home. Sighing and stretching her wings, she folded them away and sauntered into the room.
"Got your last ingredient Anodyne! They were all around the same place, why'd you have me fly back and forth these past few days? If you'd told me that you needed all three, I could have gotten then and returned in one day." She smiled wryly.

Anodyne just chuckled mysteriously as she went over and picked up the Aedaun orb.
"Oh, but this was more entertaining! Here you go, Kadyrn, and thank you for your assistance. Ah, here's a little something extra for your hard work."

"Thank you! I got some exercise out of it and now I can go tell Grrel that I've met a Drakeinian!"
She grinned and bounced the glowing orb in her hand. An Aeduan orb...
