There are several secret passages in the castle but the whole inside has been modernized. There is a "swimming pool", but really it's just an empty space in the floor that the ocean filters into. The water is heated and there's a ladder in case the tide starts to go out. There's also a large courtyard in the center of the castle.

Dallas smiled at Roo when she gripped his hand tightly and led her down the hallway and out of the shop to the back where his car was waiting. He put her bag into the back of the car and then opened the door for Roo before he walked around to the driver's side and got in. Once Roo was in the car, he started the engine and drove to a few other stores. While they were still in the marketplace, Dallas picked up supplies that they needed for the house. He grabbed more food and extra blood supplies for himself. He also got more bathroom supplies and a few more towels before he let Roo pick out what shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that she wanted. After they were done with the general supplies, Dallas took Roo to a few clothing stores and helped her pick out a few outfits that she needed including ball gowns, work clothes, casual clothes, pajamas, and a bathing suit. He let her pick out her own bathing suit and underwear because he felt that it was something that he shouldn't know about his slave.

Once they were done shopping and Dallas' car was nearly bursting with shopping bags, Dallas began to drive home. It took them about half an hour to get to Dallas' castle which was very securely hidden. Of course, they arrived at night so the moon hung low in the sky, almost hugging the castle. Dallas pointed it out and then smiled.

"And that is why I said you were meant to be mine."

I wrestle with my thoughts I shook the hand of doubt,
Running from my past I'm praying feet don't fail me now! ஆ

Shopping was...odd. She'd never been much for it, even when she had the freedom to do as she wished. Going shopping with someone who owned her made her feel like she was wasting his money and buying dresses, of all things, made her wonder what he was and why she would need things like that. At least he didn't try to pick out her bathing suit and underwear. That would have just been humiliating. But she did as she was told, following him around and curiously noticing he bought blood. Vampire? Demon? She didn't know much about creatures other than humans - hell, she could barely understand her own kind, when she came down to it. Sighing a bit, she helped carry her bags willingly and was glad when they were leaving the place. She never wanted to see it again, although she knew that was unlikely. He'd grow tired of her and return her, or send her somewhere else to be off his hands. It was just how it was.

The car ride was fairly normal, and surprisingly short. She'd thought it would take them longer to get there and when she saw where he lived, her eyes went huge. "I...see..." Roo managed weakly, wondering how the hell that had happened. It had to be coincidence, she knew...but she'd essentially painted his house before she'd even met him. No wonder he had started to laugh like a lunatic when they met, she realized. It was beautiful, though, and she felt a sense of longing despite the fact they were going there anyway. She wanted to belong, not just be there.

His. That word made her smile slightly as they pulled up and she got out of the car, her head tipped back to stare at the castle. It was even bigger up close. "Do you live here by yourself?" the young woman asked him, turning to look at him with eyes still wide with surprise.

Dallas noticed Roo's smiled when he called her his and it made him smile slightly. He had felt as happy and cheerful as he did now in a long time. Not since.... Dallas shook his head to clear his thoughts before he got out of the car and clicked a button on a remote that was attached to his visor. A large, black wrought iron gate swung shut and the click was audible, even from where Dallas stood. Dallas began to gather the bags that they had collected and must have gotten about half of the general supplies in his arms before he headed towards the door.
"I live by myself now so you can see how lonely I would get. At least you understand why we are destined to be here together."

Dallas thought about what he had just said and blushed before shaking his head, trying to not give Rowena the wrong impression.
"I meant here together as in keep each other company... I mean, not in a sexual way. Argh! Forget it..... Anyways, after we put all these supplies away, I'll give you a tour of the castle and draw a map so you don't get lost."
Dallas lead Roo inside, bringing her through the courtyard before heading into to kitchen and unpacking the kitchen supplies.

"We can switch off cooking on nights where it is just you and me here. I like cooking so I won't mind taking turns. On night were I have parties or conferences, I'll bring in professionals since you will be by my side for those. We'll go into the details of what you will be doing here after the tour."
Dallas finished unpacking and putting away the kitchen supplies before he stocked the bathrooms and showed Rowena the rooms they entered, saving her room and bathroom for last.

That would be lonely, she thought, living in a place like this all alone. It was huge, you'd need a massive family to even notice someone else here. Looking around, she noticed how he said 'now' and wondered what had happened that he was by himself in a place like this. No wonder he'd been looking for a slave to buy for company. At the last bit, Roo blushed a bit as well, surprised, though her smile only widened as he continued to babble and try to explain himself. "It's okay, I know what you mean," she told him with a slight giggle. He was pretty funny.

Gathering up some bags herself, she wasn't able to carry the rest and some was left in the car for now. She didn't know what he even wanted, so she just grabbed up things at random and followed him inside, looking around with wide eyes. Everything here was gorgeous, even if it did seem a bit sad and unused right now. Even the kitchen was amazing and she realized she was surprised to see how modern it all was. For some reason, she'd expected to find it like one of the old castles in museums or movies, everything ancient and old.

Roo had to laugh at herself, but she cringed a bit when he said he expected her to cook. "I, ah, I can't cook," she told him meekly, expecting him to get angry about that. "I'm actually sort of terrible in the kitchen," she added, wilting slightly. Every time she tried resulted in her bleeding somehow and she glanced down at her hands at a few scars she had from her clumsiness. She was cursed when it came to food, she was sure of it by now. Waiting for him to get mad at that, she looked around as they walked, wondering what he meant by what she would be doing. Wasn't she a companion sort of slave? A pet? That's what she'd overheard when they had brought her in.

Dallas blinked when Rowena said she couldn't cook and then glanced down when she looked at her hands. He could see the scars easily on her hands and frowned for a moment before he smiled gently at her.
"Do not worry my precious Roo. I'll teach you to cook and don't worry about making the meals. I'll cook."
Dallas smiled at Roo and patted her head gently before they continued to unpack things throughout the house. Once Dallas' arms were free again, he searched through Roo's bags and lead her around as they unpacked those things as well. Now all that was left were Roo's new clothes. Dallas lead Roo back out to the car to get the last of the things before he shut the car doors and lead Roo up to her room.

Dallas opened the door and stepped inside first, walking over to the dresser where he put the bags down.

"You can redecorate if you want. I tried to decorate myself, but then again I'm not very good at it. Anyways, tell me what you are good at Roo. I noticed you paint so we'll have to get you some supplies later."
Dallas walked around the room, putting away some of Roo's clothes for her and putting away her bathroom supplies. He wasn't sure if she had a specific way she wanted things set up, but he figured that he would help her unpack a bit. He didn't dare open the bag she had brought with her from the slave shop because he was raised to respect women. Dallas was surprised that Rowena hadn't asked about his eye patch and wondered if he would actually open up to her and tell her the story behind it. He probably wouldn't until he trusted her, but he did like her. She seemed like a sweet girl and Dallas was glad that he had gotten to her before someone else. He didn't want to think about an evil master getting her before Dallas himself got her and was relieved that she was safe with him. Once Dallas put away most of Roo's new clothes, he turned to her and smiled softly.

Roo was both surprised and relieved when Dallas said it was fine and not to worry. She blinked when he called her 'precious' and wondered what he meant by that. No one called her anything like that and she knew different people had different meanings for it. Deciding to let it be for now, the young woman was more than happy to follow him around and help him unpack. She wanted to be useful to him and she wanted to be useful to herself as well. It was depressing, feeling so useless and pointless sitting around in a room. Although she hadn't had the faintest idea what other masters could be like, she was grateful Dallas had been the one to take her. Roo had heard about masters who were cruel and she didn't want to think what life might be like with one of them. Dallas, on the other hand, didn't seem to be like that at all.

Once they were in her room, her eyes widened when she realized it was all for her. It was amazing and while her master busied himself with putting things away, the young woman was a bit distracted with just looking and seeing her new room. It had been years since she'd had her own bedroom and never anything so nice. It was better than the one at the manor, if only because it was her own and not a holding cell. Smiling to herself, Roo thought on his question and wondered how best to answer that. She was never any good at 'selling' herself and always felt like she was bragging. Biting her lip gently, she thought on it.

"Well, you already know I can paint," she told him quietly, glancing over at him. "Um, I'm good with animals, I used to work with them." Thinking on what her other two charms had meant - that she was both a virgin and a 'companion' sort of person - she blushed and shook her head. "I can read and write, well," Roo continued slowly, not really sure if he was looking for anything in particular. "Um, I can clean if you want and put things away, and, um..." She was clearly miserable, not knowing what to tell him, and her voice sank lower and lower as she fiddled with the hem of her oversized shirt.

Dallas watched Roo as she admired the room and smiled before he finished putting away all of the items he had gotten her. She could reorganize later if she wanted to, but at least all of her clothes were put away. Dallas looked over at Roo and listened as she tried to explain what her talents were. He pulled out the collar and looked at all of the charms, knowing what they meant. He chuckled when he noticed Roo avoided the subject of her virginity. He went over and patted her head gently when it was obvious that she was freaking out.
"It's okay. You don't have to be so nervous. If you can clean and put things away, that would be fantastic. As for the painting, you can do that as you wish. And like I said before, I'll help you when it comes to cooking so maybe you can add that as a skill."

Dallas smiled at Roo and patted her head gently before he winked at her.
"As for the 'companion' thing, I'll only have you be a friend. I wouldn't want it any other way."
Dallas kissed her forehead in a non-challant way and then headed towards the door.
"Would you like to see the rest of the house?"

It was both a relief and a surprise when he didn't get angry and she looked over at him while he played with the collar. She was sure he knew what they all meant anyway and wondered why he would have bothered to ask her, then. Roo tucked some hair behind her ear and gave him a small smile when he told her it was all right. It wasn't that she didn't want to learn how to do new things or be useful, she just...wasn't right now. And felt a bit like a failure because of it. But she was happy when her new master didn't seem to care at all and she hoped he wouldn't mind her painting a lot. She didn't get a lot of practice lately and he seemed to be willing to let her get things. Heck, even a pen and a piece of paper would suffice.

Smiling a bit as he patted her on the head, she blushed a little when he kissed her forehead so easily. "Um, yes, I'd like to, please," Roo murmured. She wondered why it would bother her at all that he was so easily dismissive of her as anything other than a friend - not even wanting anything more. For some reason, there was a tiny part of her that was dissatisfied at that, but she ignored it. What he did was none of her business and if he didn't want her for anything but a friend, then that was what she would be. It was what she seemed to be stuck as, she thought wryly, following him through the castle.

"Have you lived in here a long time?" Roo asked curiously, looking at the tapestries on the walls. They were oddly old-fashioned, considering how modern the rest of the castle seemed to be.

Dallas looked at Roo as her expression changed and he could easily tell what she was thinking. He chuckled to himself, noting that he needed to stop being so nosy at times and began to lead Rowena through the castle. He walked slowly so that she could absorb everything, especially the tapestries that lines the ancient walls.
"My family has lived here for many generations. The tapestries you see here were made by my ancestors and many parts of this castle is still original founding. Some parts needed to be replaced over the years because of damage. I've been living here alone for a long time now so it all seems too much to take it sometimes."

Dallas looked over at Roo before he continued leading her through the castle. He showed her his room so that she would know where to find him and he showed her the larger kitchen. After that, he lead her through the library. Then he showed her the large living room with a kitchenette attached to it before he he finally showed her the ballroom.
"This is the oldest part of the house. This room was built in the 1500s by my ancestors when they first built this castle. Each night, they would have grand parties and it would always be a joyous time. Sometimes I like to come in here and just soak up the happiness that has been instilled in these walls and floors."

Dallas smiled and then grabbed Rowena, leading her into a dance. His hand was clasped with hers while the other rested on her waist. It didn't matter if Rowena couldn't dance. Dallas was such a strong dancer and leader that it was easy to follow his steps. He kept the dance simple and his smile was bright as he looked down at Rowena. He had her body close to his and Dallas couldn't stop himself. With his eyes sparkling, he took a deep breath.
"Tell me Roo, what would you like to mean to me? What do you want to be to me? A friend? A lover? A partner?"

So his whole life, then. Rowena couldn't imagine growing up in a place like this and wondered if he'd been lonely. As she didn't know much of anything about him, the young woman couldn't begin to guess at the history that was in this castle with Dallas alone and looked around in awe. She loved the tapestries and her fingers itched to sketch them, try to capture some of that beauty herself. Maybe if he indulged her, she'd try her hand at weaving or something like that, always up for a new way to test her abilities when it came to art and capturing images. It would take forever, she imagined, but would be worth it if she got the hang of it. And if not, at least she had tried. That sort of summed up her outlook on life.

She wasn't very aware of Dallas looking at her, too busy examining her new home and taking in all the sights. Surprised he'd bothered to show her his room and wondering if he thought she would have to come get him for some reason, Roo had to admit the kitchen was grand, despite not knowing what half the things were. The library caught her attention and she tried to linger, having to be tugged out of it by Dallas. That was certainly a room she was going to see more of, she knew, already planning on going back there. While Roo didn't have a massive love of books, having so many was overwhelming and she wanted to go through them all.

"Oh, it's beautiful," she murmured, staring at the ballroom in awe. It was certainly one of the oldest rooms she'd seen, maybe the oldest, and while it looked its age it was still grand and impressive. Roo liked his idea of a room 'soaking up' happiness and looked around, as if she could see the ghosts of dancers past floating among the paintings and mirrors and walls above them. When her master suddenly started to dance around with her, she stumbled in surprise before falling into step awkwardly with him. It wasn't too bad, since he sort of tugged her around and didn't make any weird, fancy movements. Holding onto his hand tightly, the young woman looked up in surprise at him when he asked that question, her cheeks warming reflexively.

What...did she want to mean to him? Swallowing hard, she blinked a few times. "Um, I'm not, um..." Rowena stammered a few times in surprise before giving him an embarrassed look. "Friends are always a good start for anything," she said meekly. "Um, what about, uh, you? What did you want me to be? When you got me?" she asked him nervously.

Dallas watched as Roo blushed at his question. He chuckled and hummed a soft tune as they continued to dance, knowing that Roo didn't have much practice at all by the way she was holding onto his so tightly. She had fallen into step with him rather easily so she wasn't doing too bad for what seemed like a beginner level. He continued to hum and dance as he watched her expression. He could almost see the ghost of dancers from parties before and smiled before Roo's soft voice caught his attention.

Dallas watched as her blush grew and she somewhat avoided the question. He flipped his hair away from his face, revealing his eyepatch once more. It stayed in sight as his hair was out of his face and Dallas wondered briefly if Rowena was going to comment on it. After a second, he smiled and chuckled at Roo before and took a breath to respond.

"I didn't really have any plan in mind when I purchased you really. I was just going to take it as a day by day process. As for starting out as friends, I think it is a good place to start too. The reason why I asked you is because your expression before puzzled me when I mentioned something like this. What were you thinking when I was talking to you in your room?"

Dallas was curious as to what Rowena had been thinking and wanted to know. Her expression had puzzled him and even though he was great at reading faces, he couldn't read minds. He also wanted Roo to tell him herself instead of trying to guess at what it might of been. Dallas hoped that she would actually be able to open up to him and tell him instead of avoiding it again.

She couldn't help but wonder about his eyepatch and wanted to ask, but she really didn't want to make him mad. Maybe asking would bother him, or seem rude. Figuring she could always ask about it once they got more used to each other and he'd know she wasn't asking to be rude, Roo decided to leave it be for now. It wasn't like it was important much, at least to her. It didn't change who he was and he was still handsome with it, she reasoned privately, a bit surprised when that thought popped into her head. Shaking it off, she tried to concentrate on the steps, glad he was mostly just guiding her around instead of assuming she knew what he was doing.

At the question of what she'd been thinking, she swallowed and made a bit of a face. "Well...I was just...um. You just seemed to dismiss me so easily, so, I guess, you shattered my fragile ego," Rowena told him with a faint laugh, trying to joke about it. She hadn't been hurt or anything, really, but it seemed silly to say she'd been miffed that he'd so easily put her in the 'nothing but friends' category right off the bat. If she was prettier, or something other than human, she wondered if he would have thought like that. But, she wasn't, she was just a dull human, so it shouldn't surprise her.

She wasn't any good at hiding what she thought or lying, though she tried to at least not bother people with her issues. Being honest with people was harder than she had thought, since usually she was met with scorn and amusement, like she was some little kid trying to be an adult. But she was enjoying trying to dance and while Dallas was...odd, he wasn't treating her quite like a kid, at least. She liked it here so far and wondered what was in store for her.

Dallas watched as Roo she thought about his question. He continued to guide her around the dance floor and they had almost made it around the entire room when she finally spoke. Dallas looked at her with a somewhat blank expression before he tilted his head up to think. So that's what she had been thinking about. Dallas thought back to what he had said and tried to see it from her point of view. He didn't think that what he was dismissing her, but instead, just trying to start out slow.

Roo wasn't beautiful, but she was pretty. She had her own unique beauty about her and Dallas was especially attracted to her eyes. They were so bright and they stood out in contrast against her pale skin. He liked the way the looked and how brilliantly they shone in the lighting. Dallas smiled down at her and then realized how easy it would be to just lean down and kiss her. Dallas Let go of Roo's hand with his and placed it on the back of her head, his fingers tangling in her hair gently. He lifted her head up as he leaned down and their lips met, his eyes closing. The hand that was on her hip pulled her closer against him until they were pressed against each other. Dallas kissed her gently before it turned into a deeper, more passionate kiss. After a moment, Dallas pulled away and opened his eyes. He had stopped dancing and they were standing in place now.

"I didn't dismiss you. I simply thought that you would prefer to start out as friends, but if you want we can continue from where we just left off."

Dallas tucked Rowena's hair behind her ears and then wrapped his arm completely around her waist, holding her to him. He looked into her eyes, taking in the color of them and the emotions that were behind them. He wondered how exactly she would react to the kiss and hoped that it wasn't too much. he wasn't trying to be a jerk and lead her on. He truly did think she was pretty and wanted to get to know her in a way that no one else did, but he wasn't sure if that meant that he wanted to do it by dating her or being friends with her. All of this flashed in Dallas' mind as he waited for Rowena to respond.

Roo could see him watching her and she wondered what he was thinking. Probably that she was being very silly and he should have left her at the market, she reasoned, although that idea was horrifying to her. Almost anywhere would have been better than there, or so she thought, not knowing what she might have been dragged into. But she liked it here, she knew, there was something...oddly familiar about it. Like she was supposed to be here. The fact she'd painted it was a little unnerving, since she wasn't sure what that meant, if anything. Maybe it was just one big coincidence? It seemed a bit weird to be that, but still...she didn't want to think too much into it all.

When he let go of her hand, she looked up at him confusion, thinking they were done. Or maybe that he was mad at her for something. Her heart seemed to stop as his fingers found their way into her hair and he was leaning down. Roo barely had time to realize what he was doing before his lips were on hers and he was...kissing her. As he pulled her tight against him, she whimpered a bit, not in fright though, and found herself kissing him back. Her body pressed up against his of its own accord and she didn't pull away when he deepened the soft kiss into something more. She couldn't believe he did that and by the time he pulled away, she just looked up at him.

There was a blush on her cheeks which only deepened when he mentioned continuing. Roo couldn't tell if he was teasing her or not with that, to be honest. "Friends are...are fine," she managed, just a little dazed and blinking up at him in confusion. He kissed her like that, then wanted to be friends? He was more confusing than she'd thought he could be.
