Saskia lifted her head from the water then sighed as she stepped into the pool. It had been a long day, and a long journey, and she wanted nothing more than a nice refreshing soak. The water wasn't terribly deep and she wound up having to lay down to cover herself up to her chin. That was fine though. It felt as though she'd die if she were on her hooves a moment longer.
Miroqi was just trotting along, his little cerynei tail flagged high, his head up in a jaunty manner. He was in a wonderful mood, the weather was gorgeous and he'd had a nice suprise bounty of apples he'd found. Life was good. He was heading towards a spot with a nice pool, but he, at that moment, had no particular intentions of stopping, save maybe for a drink, til he got home.
She watched the strange stallion approach from her place in the water, curious. He seemed to be a cerynei, and a happy one at that. It was unlikely that he was dangerous in the least.
"Hullo?" she called out. As much as she would have loved to watch him a while longer it was a simple fact that the pool wasn't terribly large. He would have seen her in a moment anyways.
Startled, as he hadn't been expecting anyone, nor was he paying that much attention, he stopped suddenly and wobbled for a moment, to gain balance, as he looked around, finding who had spoken. When he spotted the mare in the pool, he blinked a moment, then smiled and approached, just close enough to be able to speak without shouting, while not encroaching into her space. "Hello... I was not aware others made use of this little pool... Then again, that makes it sound like I'm always here, and should know." He laughed at his silly phrasing, and shook his head. "Sorry, I'm often a bit of a fluffhead."
She giggled, grinning up at him. It had been rather adorable how he'd stumbled at the shore. Had he not seen her bright orange face just a little ways out in the water?
"It's fine. I'm no regular visitor here. I've been wandering a fair bit recently and I had only just arrived here moments before yourself. Pardon me for not getting up, my legs desperately need a rest."

He pondered a moment, then settled down, sitting so as to be closer to the level she was at in the pool, to try to avoid her having to crane her neck up to look at him while they chatted, for however long it might be. He chose to ignore the giggling, not wishing to feel more a fool then he did. "Ahhhhhhhh a newcomer to this area, then. Always a pleasure to meet a visitor. I am Miroqi, and I am local to the area." He smiled broadly at her, and winked. "And a gentleman would never ask a lady to stand for him, twould be rude!"
She smiled, and shifted a little, sending ripples out through the water.
"You live near here then. Would you be so kind as to show me around maybe? Tomorrow?"
He settles a little more comfortabley into position, and smiles at her. "Sooooooo. So so so, welcome welcome to my home area."
He listens to her request and beams at her. "Why, I would be delighted to take you around the area and introduce you to all the sights, Miss... ah..." He pauses, then delicately coughs. "My goodness. I AM a fluffhead today... What, pray tell me, is your name?"
She stood up, as brief as it had been the soak had really helped to sooth her sore legs, "I apologize. How rude must I have been not to introduce myself! My name is Saskia."
The water dripped off her back and down her sides, sliding across her thick legs. "I don't know what came over me," she looked him over again. Really, she had a pretty good idea.
"Miss Saskia. A lovely name for a lovely lady." He smiled warmly at her and tossed his head a little, to get his forelock out of his eyes. "Sooooo are you just naturally peripatetic or are you traveling to a purpose?" He watched her stand, and admired her musculature as she did so.
"I am not headed anywhere in particular but I am traveling for a reason. It's.... a little silly, I have to admit," she moved toward the edge of the pool, leaving ripples in her wake. At the edge of the pool she paused, "At the risk of sounding dumb... what does peripatetic mean?"
He tilts his head, listening. "I am sure there is a thought out reason... Indeed I have yet to see a 'dumb' reason. I have heard of bad ones, cruel ones, and badly planned ones... But 'dumb?' Not as yet." He then smiles again and nods. "Sorry, I like to use words I learn but sometimes they're less then commonly used... Peripatetic is one who travels from place to place, a wayfarer... So on."
"Oh, well, I'm a peripatetic for now," she nodded. "It may be one of those badly planned reasons then," she gave him a shy smile. "Life where I'm from was very quiet, uneventful. I'm looking for my destiny."
"Well yes I can see why you'd want to do that though... Sometimes it just gets to a point where you feel like you're trapped by the life you're in... so you need to leave it, and find your goal and your reason to... to... to be."
"You sound as though you did the same once."
He blinks, then shakes his head. "No, not as yet. I've just paid attention, seen and heard what others have said? Ayidan once..." He paused, then laughed. "Another soquili I know... Sorry. He once spoke to me on this topic."
"I see. Do you see yourself doing it one day then?"
He tilts his head, and thinks about it, looking at the sky. "I... not at this time? I currently do not foresee finding myself stagnating. I try to prevent it by going out and meeting new folks within a certain distance of home, and taking the time to meet the travelers who come through. But things change and if they did, who knows?"
