Neena wiggled her little tail as she banked to the left, her wings spread as she glided through the air, coasting along on the thermals rising from the mountains.
As she moved from thermal to thermal she lazily flapped her wings, and then as she was getting slowly weary of being up there, began to slowly descend, making large spirals through the air as she did so. Whilst she was slowly heading groundwards, she kept an eye out for any bird hooligans and cast glances to see if there was anyone around on the ground.
For a while she couldn't really make out much, but as she got lower, she could see a few distant moving dots that eventually became Soquili, and she steered away from any groups, wanting to land out of sight. She dropped down in a small clearing, not far from a winding stream, and she headed towards it, looking around as she folded her wings against her sides.

The suns warm rays would have been nice on most occasions but, today the stallion felt a bit over heated. After racing a random stranger for the fun of it he had gotten a bit lost. Aatuai felt no panic in not knowing where he had ended up..no instead in felt a sense of joy. The day was young, he had plenty of time to lazily explore what this area had to offer.
Walking at a brisk quiet pace the male soon found himself near a clear, winding stream..the sweet liquid seemed to call out his name. Being just a tad overheated he of course indulged! Aatuai wanted to stay fresh and poised, what if someone else wanted to have a race? Smiling at the thought of it the stallion carefully bent, eyes partially closing when the first cool trickles of liquid met the parched interior of his mouth. "Mmm..."

Neena was pleased to see someone at the stream, and not just any someone, a dapper looking stallion, which would have been good enough, but she spotted his little deer tail, so alike her own that it caused her to give her tail a little wiggle.
She was always happy to meet other Cerynei, she felt closer to them than she did the side her double pair of wings came from...mostly because she'd rarely seen any of those, and further more had yet to meet anyone outside her family with the same mixture of genes that she had.
'Hello!' she said, stepping over and in front of him, though a few yards away so as not to crowd, taking the opportunity to get a closer look. He had the shortest mane she'd ever seen, and had some sort of cloth wrap around his neck.

Taking one last cool swallow of water, the stallion let his head lift. Fluffy ears perked and blue eyes now open wide a bright, warm smile soon graced his face. A mare had come from nearby..perhaps for a drink of her own or perhaps in search of some simple conversation. Aaruai would be more than happy to oblige her. With a little bow of his head he spoke in return, introducing himself properly. "Hello there, it's a pleasure to meet such a lovely lady on such a lovely day. I am Aatuai.."
He took a moment after speaking to take the mare in, blue orbs slowly flickering across her. Such a graceful form, her wings were most definitely unique..the male had never seen another with so many! Lovely flowing mane that looked like it had been recently tousled by the wind. Smiling a bit more he chuckled when spotting her small tail, his own flicking a bit. Yes, his statement had been more than correct..she looked lovely. Now Aatuai longed to hear if her name fit her bright, kind face.

'I'm not interrupting you am I?' Neena remembered herself just in time, he had been in the middle of drinking, and maybe he hadn't particularly wanted company. Though he seemed pleased enough to see her, and had actually said so, though he may have just been polite.
'It's good to meet you too, and it is a fair day isn't it? A good day to meet new faces.' she said with a smile and then added. 'Oh yes, my name is Neena.' she giggled. 'Almost forget to say that.'
She felt her name was quite plain, though his was quite exotic sounding, and she said it a few times in her head to make sure she was remembering it right.

Smile warm as ever Aatuai shook his head with a light, happy laugh. "No miss, not at all. I just stopped for a quick drink to quench my thirst. I'm always happy to meet new soquili..after all I'm new to these lands." Noting her name his smile stayed in place, ears delicately flickering as he processed the information. After a moments pause he spoke up again "It suits you..so delicate and regal. Neena. So what brings you here today?" Head cocking to one side he offered a more playful grin, feet carrying him in a quick trot about the beautifully unique mare. She seemed so friendly, so bright! Just the kind of company he had yearned to meet today while out exploring. Settling now by her side his tail flicked..gentle blue orbs meeting her's in a way that let the mare know he would listen and, not rudely ignore or interrupt her when she replied to his inquiries.

'Oh you are?' Neena was curious, and wanting to know more, questioned the stallion further. 'So where did you live before, do you have family, or a herd in these parts?'
She paused, digesting what he had just said and laughed, giving a little shake of her head. 'That's very nice of you to say, but it's not half as fancy as your name.' she said, chuckling at the thought. Delicate and regal? He'd not seen her that time she'd had a bad landing and fallen into a bush...
'Oh my wings, they did.' she said, giving him a little wink. 'But seriously, nothing really, I didn't have a plan beyond my usual daily flight. You? Were you heading somewhere before you stopped for a drink?'

Unsure how to respond at first..Aatuai looked to the sky, seeking some kind of small answer. What would be appropriate? He didn't want to make Neena uncomfortable after all, no no that would be terrible..they had just met. "I lived north..in the mountains. High above..most in my herd were winds and, had more..hair upon their bodies. Thick tufts to stay warm." Yes, Aatuai had been the odd ball of his herd, a strange basket found amongst the snow. They'd found his mother a few weeks after rescuing him but, even she had more fluff to her body. Seeing his mind was wandering the stallion offered an apologetic smile..gaze again lifting to the heavens. "I only have my mother, she's too stubborn to leave the herd, they are the reason she and I have lived this long..so I guess mother feels like..she owes them a life debt." Her wink and sweet smile brought the warmth back to his sometimes far off gaze "Oh no..I came to explore. A stranger and I had a race but, then we parted ways. It is indeed a fated meeting Neena. Your wings obviously wanted you to have a bit of company." Grinning playfully he stepped to take another little drink..pleased beyond measure to have met the mare. So many questions, so little time to learn of his new home. He'd simply not been made to live among the mountains high peaks.

'Oh that sounds like a fascinating place to live..but a cold one too.' Neena said, listening as he described the others in his herd. 'Is that why you wear that neck wrap, to keep warm?' she asked, nodding at his scarf.
'Oh but just your mother is enough. I mean, you at least know her.' she said, feeling the slight wave of melancholy that swept over her whenever someone spoke of their family. She supposed it was her fault for asking after his, but she couldn't really avoid talking about it.
'A race huh? Did you win?' she asked, smiling at the stallion. She'd never run a race before, she suspected that her wings would be quite the hindrance in a ground race.
