The weather had been so nice lately, and today was no different. The sun was out, shining low in the sky. It was terrible for her naiad flesh, but she did enjoy the warmth on her scales.
The silvery blue naiad was lounging on the beach, letting the sun wash over her scales. She normally wouldn't relax like this, but today.. Just seemed like a good day to let her guard down. It wasn't like she couldn't hear someone coming from any direction.
"Mmmn.." She stretched, rolling onto her stomach. Her blue hair fanned out around her, letting the sun warm the other side of her body. Leitha seemed to almost sparkle from the sand coating her rear.

Of course no one was approaching Leitha. That was because Cadassi was currently hiding out in the woods next beach. Trying to convince himself to approach her. After the ending of their last date, he wasn't sure if she would kill him or just leave him.
Head in his hands, he sat crouched under a bush hiding like the coward he was. These feelings he was starting to have were driving him insane. He was confused. And jealous. And ridiculously happy. And ridiculously sad whenever she rejected him. He couldn't figure this out. Goddess knew he couldn't ask Leitha.
Was it love? Or was it something different. Peering up, he stared at the striped fish and wondered what in the hell he was going to do about it.

Leitha stretched again, letting the sun bake her legs. It was easier on her in the mornings. Less power to cake her to the sand. She was almost entirely unaware of her surroundings. Almost. She knew there was something in the bush nearby, but as it seemed to stay there it had been deemed non threat.
For now, the naiad as reflecting on her relationship with cadassi. Her apparent boyfriend. The word, even in her mind seemed to make her sneer. She liked him well enough. But what did that mean? He seemed to want to touch her all the time, without asking first! What the hell was wrong with him? It was almost as if he was as screwed up in the head as she herself was. But then... Leitha knew better. He was the sane one most of the time.
She frowned, remembering the feel of his skin on hers.. She hadn't realized that she might miss that touch. And she did, shockingly enough. Hos touch was warm. Like the light she wielded within her hands. Guardians she hated this!

Cadassi was attempting to finally stand when a turtle decided to poke his head through the brush. For a moment, believing it was a snake, he stared in abject horror. when the rest of the shell came through the brush, he relaxed. Appearently, his demon today was going to be Leitha.
Well, if he had to die, he might as well do it. Standing, he attempted to wrestle himself from the bush he had been hiding in. It was a bit harder than it looked. And no where near as easy as it had been getting in.
After a few moments, in which he managed to get almost all of him free, he tried to emerge from the bush with what little dignity he had left. Which wasn't much considering he probably sounded like a herd of elephants stampeding through the forest.

Leitha's eyes narrowed. Incessant rustling leaves. She started sitting up, bracing herself for some random enemy or something of the sort. She never should have let down her guard. The naiad had gone from relaxed to ready to attack in a matter of seconds.
She'd stopped her half sit as soon as she saw the familiar fin. It was her shark boy. Leitha shrugged, going back to the sand she'd been relaxing on. Non threat. She'd simply seen his fin, not that he was advancing towards her through the bush. She certainly had no idea he was planning on talking to her, though that much, Leitha should have guessed by his being there.
No matter what she should have done, Leitha was relaxed onto the sands of the beach once more. She was intent on taking a morning nap under the warmth of the sun

The talking part wasn't going as smooth as he hoped. Heck, escaping wasn't going as smooth as he hoped. His foot seemed to be stuck in a tangle of briars. His pulling and tugging and done naught but made sure his foot was embedded in the bush. Giving an aggravated sigh, he flopped backwards until he was laying in the shadows of the trees.
Today sucked....
Now, he would either have to hollar at Leitha or stay where he was until she decided to leave. Or maybe he could chew through the briars.... Sitting up, he examined his wrapped ankle. "Hmmm..." he muttered to himself. If he could manage not to cut anything on the sharp points, he definitely had an idea there. Reaching foward, he began to gnaw on the plant.

"What the hell are you doing Cadassi?" She called to the idiot. She hadn't managed to see how he'd gotten caught in the briars, all she could see was that he was stuck in a rather funny position. Sure, any other pae would have gone to help him right away. Leitha? She sat back and savored the moment. Then again, she always did.
"Seriously? You're going to chew on your leg to get out of there? Can I watch you bite your foot off?"

Cadassi's temper was qickly souring. Leitha's wonderful comments were not helping any, either. Rolling his eyes as she offered to watch, he paused long enough to call out "Sure! While you're at it, can I watch you laugh at me snidely instead helping while I bleed to death?!"
This was not working out like planned. Not only had he embarrassed himself in front of her, but he hadn't made any progress in the briars. Every time he got a good bite, one of the darn pointy spikes attemped to cut his gums or take out a tooth. He was beginning to loose hope.
Flopping back to a laying position, he conceeded defeat. "Pardon me for asking, but can you kill me any slower?" he asked the sky, hoping one of the diety that ruled the sky would put him out of his misery.

"Well if you want death, I can torture you." She tilted her head, finally getting up. While the sight of Cadassi getting tortured was fun, she didn't feel like letting him suffer at the hands of nature. If it wasn't her causing it, she didn't care for it.
With minimal fussing, the naiad pulled forth her light sword. It was useful for things like this too right? She didn't really care too much, but she was careful not to slice her boyfriend. "Hold still Cadassi, you know how sharp these are."

Cadassi watched in surly amazement as she managed to slice away the brairs with ease. Just figured. Leitha could kick anything's arse. Holding still, he turned his attention to the ground and tried to distract himself from the mounting pride that Leitha was actually doing something nice. FOR HIM.
When she finished, he inspected his wounded leg. It would be nasty for a while but it didn't look too damaged. Staring at the bush, he gave it a small kick with his unpoked leg. Only to give a small hiss as the briars poked the uninjured foot. Could he not win today?

Leitha let the sword dissipate, panting just a little from the exertion of using her ability for something so simple. Thankfully, she hadn't been using it long enough to wipe her out entirely. Leitha frowned a bit, looking at him when he kicked the bush that had been so wrapped around him a moment ago.
She saves him only to watch him get stuck again. The naiad threw her hands up in frustration and walked away. She was going back to the beach to lay down in the sun again. If she could manage to find the mood to sun herself one more time.
"Idiot" She mumbled, stalking closer to the water than she had been before. The sun must have dried her out more than she'd expected. No, that wasn't true, she'd expected it, just not so quickly.

Cadassi gave a soft sigh as he realized that the day was going to be aggravating. Yanking his foot out, he winced a little as the briars cut but other than that, he was fine. Stalking over to where Leitha was trying to sunbathe again, he put his hands on his hips in a mighty he-man pose and gave her a dire look.
"I love you!" he announced, before the blood drained out of his face. That wasn't supposed to be what was said. What he was supposed to say was "we need to talk." What in the name of green pastures was wrong with him today!?

Leitha had closed her eyes when Cadassi had finally made it over to where she was trying to sunbathe. She'd almost given up on attempting to soak in the light when he opened his mouth.
"Good, I love you too." She shrugged it off, not even sure what was going on. He knew she had some sort of feelings for him didn't she? What was going on here? The naiad was utterly confused, even if she looked utterly nonchalant about the entire thing.
Right now... Leitha needed in the water. Badly. "Lets take a swim Cadassi." No asking, just statement. She didn't wait for him to reply, or even to see if he was going to join her. The silvery naiad just walked into the water, letting her true form take over as soon as she was deep enough.

Cadassi stared at the empty spot where Leitha had been sitting like the blanket had suddenly grown three heads. WHAT?? That meant.... Did she.....Had the briar at his brains and he finally arrived in heaven?
Not bothering to hide it, he let out a very loud and precise "YIPPEE!!!!" before running after Leitha. Diving in to the water after his crazy fish girl, he did his best to catch up to her. "Leitha!" he hollered as he got close. He could have kissed her feet. He was almost tempted to. But he knew she'd kick him in the face so he figured it wasn't his brightest idea.
"Did you just say what I think you said? he asked, hoping against hope she's repeat it. Knowing her though, he'd likely never hear it again.

Leitha sighed, whether it was from relief or irritation at Cadassi and his useless cheering. Rolling her eyes, the naiad dove under the water, refreshing her upper body as well. She wasn't planning on coming up any time soon, but she really didn't care. The water felt so nice on her dry skin.
She blinked, head coming back out of the water. Did he really just ask her to repeat herself? Why the hell would she do that? Leitha frowned, amethyst eyes narrowing at him. "I said I love you. Now calm your fishy butt down, it's not that surprising." Her voice was nothing but ice. She did mean her words though, even if she was pissed while speaking them.
