It was spring in Mahina Mountain. It was cloudy, yet warm and dry.

Kai liked many things. Eating sweet berries, engaging in tomfoolery, and of course, romancing the ladies. He also liked winter. He was fine with the cold. Loved it, even. His feathers protected him from it, after all.

What he couldn't stand was spring. The warm weather melted all of the snow and what all used to be solid ground turned into mud. Every step he walked, one of his feet inevitably got stuck in the mud. It was an ordeal to keep taking his feet out of the mud time and time again.

While he walked down the mountain, his left foot got stuck in the mud. He went to pull out his leg like he usually did. Nothing happened. That was weird. Next, he pulled with both legs and leaned backwards. Nothing happened. That was really weird. He was beginning to worry. Then, he grabbed his right leg with his wings and pulled, while he hopped on his left leg. Still, nothing. He freaked out. His last ditch effort consisted of a failed attempt to fly. He just couldn't generate enough lift to counteract the sucking action of the mud.

He was still trying to fly when he began crying out for help, "Help! Somebody help, please! I don't want to die here!"

It was one of those things...Noble was as ever wandering, following that elusive pull he felt at times. He had become a little more known for his heroic feats as he traveled and helped people usually from some of the worst incidents possible. It just bothered him that a large percentage of incidents happened after his arrival.

Today he was traipsing about a mountain more intent on relaxation than rescuing. It was spring, and he enjoyed spring. The breeze in his hair and tail, the flowers blooming, the fresh things to eat.

He wasn't thrilled with the mud that kept sucking at his shoes, but fortunately they weren't pulling off his feet with each step. Noble had paused at one point, thinking he'd heard something. After a moment he kept walking, a concerned look on his face, and as he came around a large rock, he spotted the Delibird stuck in the mud calling for help.

The bird was also quite a bit below him, and Noble knew he would have to be careful, or else he could dislodge more mud and bury the unsuspecting Pokemon. That wasn't what he was wanting to do at all!

"Hold tight, I'll get down there and help you!"

What's that she heard from over the rocky peaks of stone, echoing throughout the cold and snowy tops of the mountains right to her doorstep? Was that the sound of Pokemon in danger? Ismire's ears perked as she heard it and pulled on tiara, taking the small time to straighten it before bracing herself for the warmth of spring. Charging down the hill from her small icy kingdom with wings pressed back to keep from hindering her take off, the Articuno girl was fully ready to save someone. Especially when the land fell away from her. Free falling before catching herself on a good draft. She'd been chided once for tomfoolery and reckless flying, but as a child, Ismire could careless. She was free.

Ducking a weaving, she made her way down the mountain, hurling like a bullet through the air. By the time she found the Pokemon who'd cry help, she was a flying mess. Especially her landing. Her legs not used to the mud and wings wilting from the heat in the air, Ismire would've hit the ground at near max speed if another body wasn't there to break her fall. Flailing backwards and falling on her bum, dirtying her pure white gown and snowy feathers, the Articuno girl gazed upwards at the humanoid figure in front of her. Cheeks red, she blushed fiercely, embarrassed by her actions. “I'm so sooooorry!” She rubbed her face which was sore from the rather harsh bump. She crawled to the edge, hiking up her dress to keep it from getting any dirtier. “What do we do now?” she said softly, wide eyed and still shaken from the adrenaline rush of a ride here.

Noble had of course been busy trying to plan his rescue attempt so as not to cause more trouble...when he was smacked into and sending tumbling to the mud himself. He got up and shook himself a little, giving a smile to the girl that had ran into him.

"It's alright, are you okay? As for what to do now...we need to get down there carefully so we don't send mud cascading down the side. That would be bad..."

Redden cheeks remained as such. Ismire never was the sort for klutziness, but for some reason or another after becoming a child she'd become fond of 'accidents' or at least the actions lead up to them. Perhaps it was the inner child within rebelling against her upstanding and proper ways. She was happy this man understood though. “I'm fine. Just a little jittery and a melting, but wings of ice do that.” She gazed down at the poor Delibird and frowned. “That would be bad. It is a bit of mess he's got himself into. If it was winter I'd be able to fly him out. Maybe we can freeze the mud? Do you think that would work?”

She tried to gauge how she could pull of such a stunt and how much time it would take for the ice to melt and possibly destabilizing the mud. If they did it fast enough where she froze the hillside enough for the man to slide down and save the Pokemon it could work. The problem is the angle. The Articuno girl stood there for a moment thinking so hard that she was sure others could hear the gears within grinding. It hit her like a flying Rhydon – or falling, which ever is easier to imagine. What if she were to glide down and keep the mountain frozen solid? She was the famous legendary bird Pokemon of ice and this was her mountain and home to protect. Time to show some backbone and get dirty. “You seem pretty spry and strong, sir. So if fly down there and freeze the mountain, could you dislodge him and bring him up?” She shrugged her shoulders, sending bits of water raining down from her soppy wings. “If you've got a better idea, I'd love to know. By the way, my name is Ismire.” It was a little oddly put, but she recalled not introducing herself and that was just plain wrong in her book. Crashing into a man, stuttering out an apology all without introducing herself. Now that was just improper.

Seeing someone else was enough to make Kai feel more at ease. He stopped flailing about and then sighed in relief. "Thank you, sir. I'll sit tight for now, then."

Soon afterward somebody else arrived on the scene. From above. Like an angel. For a brief moment, Kai entertained the thought that maybe an angel could've answered his call for help. But he quickly dashed it away for sounding too unrealistic. With her tiara and dress, he thought she looked more like a princess than an angel.

He thought they were Pokemon, but he couldn't tell what kind. It really didn't matter. He'd welcome aid from anyone, after all. "Freeze it, dig me out, whatever. I really don't care how you do it, so long as I get out of here."

"No need to be so embarrassed, accidents happen to the best of us." he gave her a kind smile to calm her nerves a little. "We can give it a shot, but you'd have to make sure not to freeze him as well. It might be a little tricky...."

"I'm Noble, pleasure to meet you Ismire." he looked at her wings in concern however, a frown touching his lips. "Do you think you can though? I don't want you to get hurt, or stuck yourself." Not that saving two would be hard, but he'd prefer to not to if he had a say.

He looked down to Kai and nodded. "Don't worry we'll get you free." he wasn't seeing much in the way of choices to be had, and his own shoes were tugged off and stuffed into his bag, he'd clean the mud off everything later and he secured it around him, flexing his hands.

"I'm going to make my way down and get him loose...be prepared to freeze the mud below him...maybe he can slide the rest of the way down....I can maybe get some water to help it freeze more." and he grinned some as he started down the mountains, leaping through the muck with ease, using water blasts to propel and free himself. He went sliding, and managed to stop...barely...by Kai and gave a tug. "Alright Ismire! Hit it!" and there went water shooting from Nobles free hand, to send it cascading down the mud to be frozen. An ice slide would form, hopefully!

“It's a pleasure to meet you, Noble.” she smiled brightly, his words putting her at ease. Her expression seemed to brighten with pride. “I'm an Articuno, one of three birds of legends. If I cannot protect one Pokemon on this mountain that I call home, then for sure I don't deserve that reputation that I was born with.” Ismire gave him two thumbs up. “Besides, I'm a lot more sturdy than I look~”

She nodded, awaiting her cue and when it did come, Ismire didin't hesitate. She flutter for a bit in the air, long enough gather the energy within her to cause a mini blizzard that emanated from her wings as she froze the hill side. It wasn't long before her wings gave out though along with the technique she used by then, she'd managed to create an ice slide straight to the bottom with a rather jerky ending. She huffed and with one extra beat of her wings managed to inch the ice to stop short of Noble's and Kai's feet.

Ismire would've thrown her arms up and shouted, 'Tada', but her energy was sapped from the heat of spring. Instead, she brushed her hair out of her face and sighed feeling sopping wet from her wings beginning to melt once more. She adjusted her tiara and looking just a bit exhausted, begun to ask a rather important question, “Alright, so now that he's free and the general area is frozen, what shall we do?” The Articuno seemed concerned with the possibility of the snow melting making the situation worse for all of them. At least for now they didn't have to worry about an avalanche of mud or really, worry about mud at all.
