Takoda had been briefly home, with his lover the male shifter Jacinthus they had enjoyed themselves for a brief bit of time, and now he was sneaking off. Though it broke the shifter's heart to do so he knew that Jacinthus would only worry and probably tell him not to go, in fact he would probably stop him from going. A twinge of guilt as he shifted the pack at his side, it was filled with the fungi from earlier. He had intended to go hide them in a safe dry spot to await his return from the Chibal Islands...if he made it back.

Taking a deep breath he couldn't lie...half of his worries was trying to get to the island in one piece. After all...he wanted something that was considered part of a goddess to their culture he wasn't expecting to have a warm welcome. Enough of worrying, he had wasted enough time with Jacinthus...although he was still very happy about seeing his lover..his worries put to rest that he was for the most part in good health. Now he could focus and worry on just getting the last ingredient he needed.

Into the forest of Jahaur he went, one foot in front of another until he found the safe spot he was putting his bag in. Making sure it was moisture tight he tucked it away and placed a few poisonous boughs of a plant he had found along the way to deture creatures from eating them. His other satchel carrying provisions of food and water (though he hoped it wouldn't take him all that long to get there and back).

He had left early in the morning, trying to make up time and by the time he reached the sands of the beaches he felt exhausted. Stopping to catch his breath he would think about the next aspect of his journey...as he rested.

It was finally time, time to take Rishima to the mother tree, though their journey felt as if it had been delayed the alkidike woman knew that wasn't the case, they were just getting ready, resting after their trek back home, gathering food as well having Rishima meet up and reconcile with his mother. So it wasn't that they were being delayed, after all she had kept herself busy. Training, a battle with a shifter, met a new sister in the forest but she would be happy to get back to the islands. Jerarda had to wonder if Phenyo had gone back without her, had she annoyed her best friend again?

Shaking her head she was gathering the last of their things before she called out to Rishima.

"You ready? I believe there is a boat tied up on the shore line somewhere. I don't really want to swim the entire way there." She joked as the distance..wasn't that far but creatures that were fond of meat lived in the ocean.. and she didn't want to try her hand at a under water battle. "You have everything? I don't know how long we will be on the island so bring anything you want to have with you. Anything you can part with for a short period of time leave here. We will get it on the way back."

Rishima looked over at Jerarda when she called out to him, his antennae giving a bit of a twitch,"Yeah, I am ready when you are." He said, lifting a hand to his lips to give a whistle that called Itzal over. The big beast had Rishima's pack and his lance on his back, carrying everything around for his Master, and he carefully took the stuff off of his broad back before he lowered down to put them in the boat, tucking his pack in safetly before he rested his spear where he would be able to reach it if the need or it arose. He hoped that such a thing wouldn't be needed though, not wanting to get into any battles while in Alkidike territory. There really shouldn't be a need for weapons but if nothing else at least they were a good way of showing that the two of them had rank amongst the tribe, something that might allow them to move about as they pleased from here , to the Mother Tree, and back again.

He scratched him behind his ear before turning to look over at his sister, "How far across is it? Can Itzal swim across easily? Or should he ride in the boat with us?" He asked in a curious manner, not about to leave him behind since he knew that Itzal would be quite pissed off with him if he were to leave him behind. Even as he asked the question the beast was prowling from side to side along the edge of the water, tail swishing, looking as though he were debating on whether or not he should dive on in though Rishima wasn't about to let him do so if the swim across was too far. Best that he made sure that the beast stayed with them, not wanting him to run amok while he was gone because he was grumpy over being left behind. Not to mention that he might very well dive in and try to follow, something that would only cause problems as well as he might end up being at risk of drowning, "He should be alright in the boat so long as he stays still, right?" He knew that it wouldn't be a good idea for him to go bouncing around or threating to tip them. At least Itzal listened really good so if he were told to lay down and stay he would do so.

Takoda had been walking down the beach his eyes trained on the islands before him trying to figure the best way to them without being forced to swim. It all seemed to be pointing to that fact he was going to have to swim, though the people from the islands must ferry across it was just trying to find a boat or boats where the Alkidikes might be around, he perked his hopes rising when he heard voices.

Hurrying he tried to not trip over his own two feet as the sand shifted from under his feet. Takoda rounded the corner his eye's widening as he spotted not just one but two Alkidikes. His heart leapt into his throat and he had a hard time swallowing it back down, though he recognized them both it was the woman he had the battle with. Of course the battle hadn't been very memorable, and Takoda had in the end won purely due to luck. He hoped she wasn't sore about that...and if he was lucky perhaps she wouldn't remember it.

There was the other ...half breed alkidike as well though he never had spoken to him he recalled seeing the boy on the exploration he seemed to stick pretty close to Jerarda's side. Were they siblings? They ...didn't really look it....

"Ah..." Takoda decided perhaps it was time to stop gawking and explain his situation, though he hesitated as he spotted the spear's strapped to both of their backs. "Ah...I am hoping you can help me." He began slowly hoping they wouldn't get hostile right off the bat.

Jerarda had laughed when asked if the radaku would be joining them in the boat. Of course she didn't expect that Rishima would be willing to leave the creature behind, though she wasn't sure if it would be welcomed on the islands but she wasn't about to tell him no. Bending over she went to check the equipment, moving a few things around in the boat before she straightened.

"I don't know how the stamina would be for a radaku, the waters get deep so once you start you can't just ...stop and rest. I think it would be safer..." The woman trailed off as Jerarda had sensed the shifter coming before she saw him, her antenna had given his presence away as he approached. Half turning she looked to spot the healer coming around the bend, a arched eyebrow as she noticed how out of breath he seemed. Then seemed even more confused when he seemed to be requesting help.

Help? Why would..he need their help? Giving a glance to Rishima she turned to face the shifter, she knew him well enough that he wasn't going to attack them straight on but she still felt on guard.

"Help? Why do you need our help shifter?" OKay so she forgot his name...

Rishima gave a smile when Jerarda seemed to think that it would be best for Itzal to go with them in the boat due to her not knowing how much stamina a Radaku might have. He was turning to tell his companion animal to get in the boat when the Radaku froze in place, turned his head, and started to growl. Rishima's antennae gave a twitch before he turned around, spotting the Shifter that was coming their way, unable to help but to gawk a little bit. This one seemed to be rather brave, didn't he? Coming over toward them instead of trying to sneak by. It was likely a good thing that they really had no time to be getting into random battles, huh? At least he hoped that was the case as he didn't really want Jerarda to go after the guy...

Lifting a hand up he rested it against Itzal's neck in a manner that helped to sooth the dark colored beast, causing his growls to cease, though he continued to stare at Takoda in a manner that said that he didn't care for a stranger getting too close to Rishima. The boy nudged the dark colored beast, "In the boat, Itzal." He murmured before he turned to give his attention to the Shifter that was... asking for help? Rishima's mismatched eyes blinked before he looked up, checking to make sure that it hadn't suddenly started to snow in Jauhar. The very last thing he'd of guessed the guy was going to be approaching them about was help after all. This was a lot better then what could have led him over here, "What do you need help with?" He asked, antennae twitching again. He didn't seem hurt... maybe he was lost? Surely a Shifter must know better then to come this close to the island where the Mother Tree was located, right? Seemed like it would be dangerous on his part to get even this close.

Takoda halted a good distance away, his attention darting to the radaku that was apparently the...young...boy's(?) pet. It caught him off guard, mostly that the boy at first glance appeared just like a female alkidike, though with careful observation, the body shape was off, and he was shorter than the full blooded sister beside him.

But he was wasting time gawking at the boy, after all it wasn't going to gain him any ground, besides the boy was asking him a question and although he had run into the woman once before...in battle he hoped it wouldn't come to that again.

"I need to get to the island.." Takoda pointed, although it seemed rather obvious which island he was talking about since there was only one. "I...need you to understand it is very important that I get there."

Jerarda's eye's narrowed, she vaguely watched as Itzal moved into the boat after Rishima's urging. Her hand went up to where her spear was resting on her back, although she didn't want to fight the shifter what he was asking was unthinkable. He wanted onto the islands? Their sacred home?

"What business do you have on the islands shifter.." She was having a hard time imagining anything that could be important enough to bring the shifter to their island. Old mistrust was something that bubbled up from the past and though she had no reason to not trust him what he was asking for was crazy.

Rishi's eyes went rather wide at the strange request that was suddenly issued forth from the Shifter. He wanted... to go to the island? He glanced over in that direction for a moment, then back again, and instantly he was certain that the Shifter must be completely off in the head. Why would he want to go to the island alone? Surely he must understand that it was beyond foolish? Not to mention how completely dangerous it would be for him to be caught there... they would likely string him up for invading. It was a terrible idea... and if they were to help him wouldn't they be seen as traitors? Allowing the enemy anywhere close to the Mother Tree was a dangerous thing he thought to himself before he turned to look up at Jerarda, "It... seems a bit like a bad idea." He murmured, "Surely our sisters would see his actions as threatening, wouldn't they?"

Shifting in place he turned his mismatched eyes to Takoda, "I don't think it would be a good idea for you to go invading such a sacred place. It would only land you in a world of hurt." And given that he was a half Shifter himself he was certain that his sisters would be quicker to blame him for being a traitor that helped the Shifter onto the island then they would Jerarda. While he preferred that from the perspective of protecting his sister he didn't really want to get himself dragged into things along with the Shifter. Maybe it was best if they tried to talk him out of... well, whatever it was that he was thinking to do there.

Takoda cringed slightly upon seeing both their expressions and their reactions were predictable. Swallowing he tried to find the best words, something that would convince them that he wasn't trying to invade them though of course if he explained he needed the roots of their mother tree...he could be skewered on the spot. Something he really didn't want to happen and it was very very important that he get there and get those roots.

"I need to get to the island, I need to speak with your elders...its a matter of dire importance. People are going to get sick and die if I can't get to the islands...Please...I must meet with the mother tree." Takoda hoped they would listen to reason though he didn't take any more steps towards the pair.

Though seeing them with a boat he knew his chances were greater if he went with other alkidikes. At least he would make it to the shores in one piece.

Jerarda reached for her spear a prickling sensation going up her spine the more the shifter spoke. What Rishima said was true, if they brought the shifter with them they would be under scrutiny as well. The more she listened though the more she had to wonder if the shifter was being serious. He was taking quite the risk to get to the islands, risking his life...didn't sound like something someone would do on a lark.

And from what she had seen of the shifter, he also was a timid man (despite what she had experienced in battle) and not the kind who would be out to destroy her people. Though maybe that was what he wanted her to think.

"You want to speak to the elders? To the great mother herself?" She almost wanted to laugh at the ridiculous idea. Would the mother tree even allow for a non alkidike to be in her presence?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 29, 2013 3:52 pm

He wanted to talk with not only the elders but with Aisha herself...? It was something that had Rishima starring at him in a wide eyed manner. This Shifter really was a bold one, wasn't he? He wanted to refuse him, to suggest to Jerarda that they just get in their boat and head in their way... but he found himself wondering if what he said was true. What if there was some sort of sickness out there? They really couldn't say that it would only affect the Shifters, it could very well be a threat to their people as well and surely they couldn't risk that, right? Crossing his arms over his chest he tilted his head to one side, antennae twitching in deep thought, "Hmm..." After a moment it clicked and he turned to look over at Jerarda, "I have an idea." He murmured, always worried about offering up ideas since he always worried about saying the wrong thing but on occasion he came up with a good one.

"We could bring him to them ourselves and say that he has information that is important to our people." He said, "If he is right and there is sickness out there then it will be a potential threat to us as well, right? Our Elders should be made aware of such a thing... though... do you think we should 'take him prisoner'?" He wondered if taking him as a 'prisoner' would make it so that they could keep him safe and keep themselves save from too much scrutiny. They couldn't risk their ranks because they weren't careful enough when it came to this Shifter. Giving a thoughtful sound in his throat he added, "We should at least act as escort if nothing else. If we were to just bring him across and let him go we have no idea what it is that he might get into."

Things didn't seem to be going very well, Takoda looked back to the islands his hope for reaching those shores starting to diminish until the male alkidike spoke again. Prisoner? At first he felt rather unsure about that suggestion, going in as a prisoner didn't feel safe, after all there was no guarantee that he would be released. Should he try sneaking to the islands? No...after all if he was caught sneaking around the likeliness of him being killed shot up ten fold.

No the suggestion was actually the smartest route to go. If he went willingly as a prisoner..then at least he would be brought up to the leaders. At least he could hope that they would bring him to their elders.

"Yes! That is a wonderful idea," Takoda expressed his interest immediately and perhaps a bit too enthusiastically. But..he had to get to the island he had to get there.

"Please I will go willingly but I must speak with your elders in order to get the ingredients I need, I am told the last one I need is on your island..." For now he would not mention it was the roots of their beloved goddess tree.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 29, 2013 5:43 pm

There were many things going through the woman's head, one being that it seemed strange...sickness or not that the shifter would need to travel to the islands for an ingredient that apparently only existed there. Considering that no one had ever been to the island who wasn't an alkidike it made her wonder if he was making things up...or if it was an alkidike that had told him this information.

"You better not be lying shifter..." Jerarda hissed as she gestured Rishima into the boat, " Get some rope if the elders are going to believe we have a prisoner ...we can't have him look so willing to come with us." Jerarda still wasn't sure if bringing him as a prisoner would work, after all she wanted the clans to work together so she was putting her neck on the line if things went wrong.

"Tie up his wrists and give him a good length between his ankles so he can walk...up front I want everyone to think we caught him. Shifter you are to remain silent when we arrive on he shores, I shall request that the elders speak to you...I can only hope you are not lying."

Alright, so they were taking a prisoner, huh? This would be a first for him but he supposed that as a Blade he had to put aside personal feelings to do what was best for the Alkidike as a whole. If that meant taking a Shifter prisoner so that he could speak with the elders about the sickness that he was battling so be it. It would help everyone involved if they were able to aid this guy to fix whatever it was that he had seen, preferably before it got as far as infecting their people. He found himself wondering how it was that he knew the ingredients were on the island but he supposed that they could figure that out on the boat ride over and if they found that they couldn't trust his answers they could always toss him overboard. It was a dark though and one he shoved aside instantly. Even if the guy was dying he didn't want a hand in his punishment. He'd leave it to Jerarda since she was likely to be better at dealing out such a thing.

Moving over to the boat Rishima dug around in his pack, getting out a length of rope from it, and walked over to where the Shifter was standing. He had brought it along 'just in case' but never thought that he would be using the length of rope in such a manner. At least he had some with him though, "Hands." He said, waiting for the Shifter to offer them up before he set to work trying them together, "I will tie your feet once you are in the boat." Otherwise it would be more difficult for him to get into it and he didn't know if Jerarda really wanted to pick the Shifter up to put him down in the boat.

Once he had everything situated he looked over at Jerarda, "Is there anything else we need? Or should we be on our way?" He asked of his sister, not wanting to hold off on the trip across the water any longer then they had to. He had never moved across such a wide expanse of water before and it was something that made him just a little nervous, not that he would admit it out loud. Best to get it over and done with as quickly as possible so that they could all get their feet back on solid land once more.
