xxxxxxxxxxThere had been a definite need for magical girls in this city lately. Ruubey supposed the necessity for them would never really die, as grief and witches would always spring up as long as the human race existed. But lately Ruubey had been somewhat negligent about contracting girls, and he knew that. He needed more. The night air was chilly, on the central streets of the city. There would be activity around here, Ruubey knew, and Ruubey knew that he would not be seen if he did not need to be. If a girl had the right heart, the right desire to become a Puella Magi and contract, she would find Ruubey all on her own. She would be surprised, sure, even scared, but Ruubey did not worry about her human emotions, because he also knew that she would contract with him in the end, and all would be well. The streets were bustling with activity, but nobody was a quality candidate yet. Young men on their way to clubs, some more drunk than others. There were families on their way to the theater, dressed nicely. Another human convention Ruubey couldn't comprehend. Girls always were concerned about what their outfits would look like as a Puella Magi. And he always tried to explain that it was not the frills or ribbons that dictated how well she would be able to handle witches.
Ruubey blinked the garnet eyes that so frequently caught the attention of youth in need of...assistance. A magical companion. A way out. Currently he was on the hunt, sensing for any girl who could be in need of a wish, a savior from some teenage peril or a truly awful situation. It varied from girl to girl. He supposed he enjoyed granting wishes, the reasons why the girls made them didn't really matter. He was different from them, and he would never truly understand humans anywhere, so why try to comprehend. All he needed to do was search for a girl, grant her wish, and teach her to save the world from witches.
