"Shy?"
"Yes Nora?"
"I TOLD you. It's BETH."
"... didn't you quit last week?"
"That was last week."
Shy frowned, rubbing at his temples. But if you quit once... didn't that mean that... what was the past tense to quit anyways? Quat?
"It's quitted."
Shy blinked.
"I know what you're thinking all the time, Shy. Now. Your next appointment has arrived. Girl looks stiff though-- want me to bring her something hard to drink?"
"Hope you're not talking about the child, Beth." he reprimanded her. "I'm not in my office right now. Bring her to the small garden outside. It'll be nice to get some fresh air."
The receptionist snorted. "As soon as she comes around, I'll bring her right over."
"Thank you Beth."

The lab of 030 was located in a large domed house, with acres of land protecting the underground complex. The garden reached for miles on end, but the main section was seperated from the rest by neat hedges. A little fragile white table and three chairs overlooked the spacious land, flowers drifting lazily enough that Shy was proud of his surroundings.
Getting up from his seat, the scientist, still in his white lab coat and his hair tied away from his head in a pony tail, smiled.
"Elizabeth." he said, moving over to check her hand. He looked down, immediatly charmed. "She's beautiful." he murmured.

Shy smiled at the girl. "Pleasure to meet you, Alice." he responded. He had seen plenty of shy fae children, so it eased his heart a little bit to meet one who was more exuberant.
"A gift?" he almost beamed like a child-- something about the weather, really. Nodding his head, he peered into the basket. "Alice, will you help me?" he asked.
He looked back with a nod at Elizabeth. "It is good to see you again. She looks happy."

Shy smiled. "Marzipan it is." he said. "Are you hungry, Alice?" he asked. He had prepared some food-- but this was better. Much better. He looked up curiously while Alice continued to dive through the pile of gifts, and frowned. "A fear of heights?"
He tilted his head, one mind on Alice and making sure everything that came out was his (it would break his heart to find something had been dropped in accidentally), and the other half scanning the information he had on the current fae.
"It could be a coincidence. Some of the fae may be more sensitive to certain things such as sight or hearing. Or maybe it was just a new experience? Although..." Shy paused. Oohing over a tin of tea, he let himself be distracted. "And what is this, Alice?" he asked her.
"Although it could be a way for her past self to emerge. Memories don't start until much later, but maybe something traumatic occured, before?" he said this quietly.

Shy smiled. "Well, why don't we have a little snack then?" he asked. He opened a couple of the tins, pausing to watch Alice's reaction. He would eat all of them later-- but this was time for him to gauge the reaction of one of the fae.
"Alice." he said, looking up at Elizabeth for permission. "I've got two older fae who want to meet you. Will that be okay?" he asked.
Beth had been giving him lessons in politeness.
"Elizabeth, please." he said, motioning to a chair. "Have a seat." he smiled. They could speak of this later, when they came.
"Now, what is his Liebchen?" he asked, fascinated.

Shy looked down, delighted. "Please, let me pour us some tea." he said, deciding that it would be time enough for him to decide. Lebkuchen first. What a fascinating name! A foodie at heart, he nodded his head, moving through the motions of pouring them something to drink.
He would save the tea for later, for himself.
"A bee?" he asked, smiling. "I'm afraid I haven't petted a bee yet. I've designed bees, and half bees, but not petted one." he took the answer at face value. "Aren't they too small to pet?"
Something beeped, two quiet notes that had Shy look up, startled. "Well, that's answer enough." he said to himself. "Alice." he said, and looked behind him. From the building two fae emerged, both in lab coats. Except it didn't fit them properly-- teen of age, something about them seemed... unreal.
((Liz-- you can decide what they look like. They have to be able to hold Alice's interest and obedience-- whether it is because she is scared of them, or because she likes them. Their appearance don't matter TOO much, but they will be her tutors in the future.))
"This is..." he said.
((and their names. Because I suck with names.))
"Alice." one of them said, smiling slightly. "It is nice to meet you."
The other nodded. "Will you come back with us, for a little while?" they asked.
Shy smiled. "It is a medical evaluation, to keep up to date with her physical and emotional development." he explained. "And we can talk." he said.

Shy laughed, nodding his head. "We'll see you in a little while, Alice." he said, nodding his head.
((What goes on in there Nae has no idea. ^^ But she'll be back in a little while))
Watching Alice leave, he turned his attention back to Elizabeth and his food. Reaching out and breaking off a morsle of the lebkuchen first, he nibbled on it, brows rising with delight.
From his expression, the man would start purring any minute now.
"Now, Elizabeth." he said, fully content with the weather, his food, and his companion. "Why don't we talk a little bit about your Alice..."
