Things were going too slow. She had tracked him for years, the last few months having him in sight constantly, but things were slow. Few Stars seemed to come this far close to the ocean, so she wasn't any further to her goal than she hoped she would be by now. She was still alone. He was not. Though even if he was, she was no match for him alone. Why would she be? She wasn't going to ruin her body to make herself physically stronger. She had her wit to save her.
Des'tai floated just below the surface, watching the sunlight shimmer as the wind buffeted the ocean. She swayed with the water around her, flicking her tail to keep herself from banging against the rocks ten feet in front of her. She enjoyed being by the rocky cliff despite the danger of crashing into the side. Then again, that was the fun of it. Danger kept life interesting. The Nova couldn't imagine how bored she would be if everything was safe. If there was nothing to watch her back about.
It was again that she wished she hadn't gone so far from her original herd. And not for the last time would she wish it. She was too far from her enemies for them to want to follow her for revenge. Nearly all of them had something against her enough to want to do her harm. She supposed one or two could have followed her, but it was unlikely. All the time she had spent watching, alone, and no one had tried to do anything to her.
There was no one out there. How boring. Maybe, while she waited for worthy Stars to convince to help her, she could mess with the rest. Make some new enemies closer to home. It would be a nice change from this. From staying close to rocks to provide some sort of danger in her life.
Enough of that.
With a flick of her tail, Des'tai shot towards the surface, breaking into the fresh air. Hooves outstretched, she clung to the nearest rock, scrambling on top of it to sit with her tail curled around the bottom. Picturesque of a mermaid. Ice_Dragon_Demon Just remembered this roll pair.

She wasn't sure what brought her out here, perhaps to reminisce, she could remember why exactly, she had found her love again, and their adopted child yet there was still an emptiness. And So The golden queen had found herself wandering along the beach, feeling the wind in her mane, soft sand around her hooves. Golden sunbeams bounced of her golden coat making it and her jewelry shimmer as though she was a goddess. The Queen spend many hours making sure she was as lovely as she was, breathtakingly beautiful very few could compare to such.
Her gase pread across the beach as s light sigh escaped her. She used to love the beach but something about the ocean now unsettled her and she couldn't quite remember why.
But the day was beautiful, and she loved to surround herself with such beautiful things that complimented her own beauty. Gold and Jewels, even beautiful children, Sadia was quite lovely in her own right, Kassiepeia was surprised suitors from all over didn't come claim her. Then again she wasn't quite ready to part with her adoptive daughter yet, she seemed to fill a deep hole Kassiepeia had within her.
Kass had been just in time to see a nova scramble upon a nearby rock to right herself as though preparing to be seen by a handsome stallion that walked by and drag them to their doom. She did not impress the queen in the slightest. Who was this mare? Somehow she did unnerve her Kassiepeia didn't like it.
"You, Who are you?" the goldem queen called from the shore.

Still unsure of what to do, Des'tai scanned the shore, making sure to include the clifftops above them where she had seen much movement the past while. A herd, or at least a family, had settled there. As if she didn't know. Knowing who she knew it to be, it would be a herd. Nothing would do for an old leader than another herd to boss around. She would feel the same if she had ever had a herd to rule over. At best, she always ever had just short of half a dozen Nova at her disposal. It would be good to get that back. But she needed males for that. For what better way to shape minions than with your own children? Give them just enough love and they would not betray you.
The twinkle caught her before the voice did. Annoyed, the Nova mare looked towards it, growing more annoyed at the demand as if she had no right to be here. Like someone could own the ocean. If she wished to stay here, she bloody well would. Who would stop her? Some glorified Starborn with far too much jewelry? She would get pulled down if she tried.
On second thought, not a bad idea.
Des'tai grinned, trying to smooth it into a friendly one to cover her tracks.
"No one important. Have I disturbed your quiet?"

Ah that was why, mermaids, the neriads, she's come to detest them. They were part of the cause of her strife. She'd Lost a daughter to them and had been punished to sit upside down in the sky because of it Just out of reach of her love Cepheus. She would never brag openly about it again however, she couldn't help but think her daughter was still the most beautiful. Though most parents Didn't have to contend with the wrath of gods. It was only because she was queen. They did what they had to... to appease the god however it meant sacrificing their daughter.
Kassiepia was better than that however, learning the lesson the hard way you had to be careful what you say. There was something strange about her though, Kass couldn't quite put a hoof on it. Kass smiled regally hiding any of the other emotions "You have not," she answered. Kass was careful of the water, she always was now. It's not that she completely feared it but more, the god would find her escaped and return her and Cephei to the sky. They had to be better here as the herd grew. Kass would never forget. Much of their herd's new traditions revolved around such creating things. Stories and plays to pass down to those who follow.
"Your name Novae?" she asked still holding about her regal air feeling the sand shift beneath her hooves.
