Miroqi paced quietly through the woods, his eyes flickering side to side as he pondered where he might find the individual he was looking for. It'd been a day or two since he'd seen his friend, and he was in the mood for a good chat, hang out, maybe a friendly tussle of some nature. He wasn't sure where Mencari would be today, and that was always the problem, wasn't it?

Mencari had returned home from a hunting trip only a few hours before. He'd caught several small animals, enough to keep him satisfied for a few days. Once he's arrived back he'd fallen straight asleep planning on searching for Miroqui once he'd gotten in a good nap.

Miroqi decided to try Mencari's home as his first stop. Logically it WAS the best place... And perhaps, if he wasn't there, a sign of where Mencari might have made his way off to could be found. So he turned in that direction, and moved quickly. When he arrived, he found himself amused to realize that his friend was, in fact, dead to the world.

Mencari let out a snort then rolled over, oblivious to his friend's presence.

Miroqi stares, amused, at his friend and then moves over and... gently but still... kicks his friend's leg and steps back out of range.

Mencari snorted as his eyes flicked open, he tried to get up, not imediatly realizing that he'd rolled the wrong way and wound up on his back, legs flailing in the air. After a moment, though, he came too and found his way to his feet.

"What was that for?"

Miro had to stifle the urge to fall on his a** laughing, as he watched his friend flailing about. "Good morning, Princess, I had to awaken you somehow... And since I doubt you wanted me to kiss you awake...." He wriggles his brows in a silly way. "I thought this would be the simplest."

"I don't know, once the bruise forms I'll decide if I would have preferred the kiss."

Miroqi laughs and gives him a shoulder bump. "Oh come on, it wasn't THAT hard, I'd never damage your gorgeous pelt."

"Maybe not but I think you managed to hit the place I'd already bruised," he shook the leaves and bits of gras out of his mane. "I only recently returned from a hunt."

This gained an instantly apologetic expression. "Oh, I'm sorry, 'Cari, I didn't know... I didn't mean to reinjure you." He lowered his head, ashamed now, and embarressed he might have harmed his friend.

"Oh, I've lived through worse," he laughed, nudging his friend with his muzzle. "Maybe a kiss next time," he winked with a laugh.

Miroqi snerked and grinned. "I'll keep that in mind. So I take it your hunt was successful, old man?" He teased just a little on that last, and tossed his mane some.

"Not as well as I would have liked. I may be eating fruit for a few days before I'm ready to start tracking again."

He arched a brow. "I'm surprised, you're usually rather more successful then that. What happened, 'Cari?"

He bobbed his head, "Bad luck? Bad timing? I didn't even see anything larger then a hare. Maybe I /am/ getting old.."

"I really doubt it was age, you're younger then me, no matter how I tease you, and you know it. It almost certainly was simply luck that hit you, even if it wasn't the kind you wished for."

"Either way the end result is that I'm going to be eating fruit. Luck had better favour me next time or I'm going to go mad."

"Oh come now, fruit's not THAT bad. I mean I know it's not your favorite, but at least it's tasty... Could be worse, could be winter and you're stuck with bark and whatever you've stored away..."

"If my stores wern't empty I /would/ prefer to gnaw on the frozen critters," he shook his head. "Enough of my troubles. I'll sort it out. What have you been doing this last while?"

"Oh just the usual... Talking to the pretty ladies, finding the best grazing... Admiring the clouds... Harrassing my two-legs, silly girl that she is, by refusing to stay still while she attempts to groom my already perfect coat.."

He snickered, "The life of a docile old herbavore. Don't you ever get tired of chewing grass?"

Miroqi made a face. "Don't you get tired of the mess of blood and guts? Can't help how we're made." He paused, and then added "And docile, am I? Odd, I was under the impression I'd kicked you earlier and you'd objected... I must have been confused, docile herbavore that I am."

"Oh, but my friend, the juicy bits are the best part. You just don't understand what you're missing," he realized he was thirsty and gestured toward the stream. "That two legger of yours, she has you all docile!"

Miro made a rather disgusted face, and he shook his head. "Nooo I rather I am, on the level of such foods at least, born to be 'docile'. My two legger is a useful thing, and lets me do as I will, on the whole. Her only inteference tends to be in the matters of grooming... She, when she feels the desire to ride, always seems to go to Ayidan, so I'm not even broken to saddle. I think she just cares for Soquili because she likes the companionship... She's not so good amongst her own kind."

"Broken to saddle, listen to you! As though such things are so easily accepted. I don't envy your life, though I suppose if you're happy with it then I'm glad for that much. I would rather be free, entirely. I'll return to you, perhaps," he snorted. "Miroqi~ You're my two legger."

"All right, perhaps I phrased it badly. Honestly, I think Ayidan doesn't mind, since she really sticks with the blanket and band unless going a long distance." He shrugged and whickered, amused. "And since it leaves me free to enjoy the treats and food all winter long, with no real responsibilities." He tossed his head, and his mane goes right back over his eye, despite his attempt to have it land otherwise. "And I, your two legger? I resent that notion, I'm far too handsome to be one of those imbalanced silly beasts!"

"But I'll always come back no matter how rough you treat me," he teased. "I pay for my freedom with hard work."

"Mmm so you do... And I get to laze my days away having fun, in exchange for acting like a pet, and being adored... Can't say I object, since she doesn't expect much of me save presence!"

"Suppose it takes all kinds," he said as he approached the water. "You'll never convince me."

"I would definitely say it takes all kinds." He leans against a tree and watches his friend, and yawns. "Mmmm at least tis a nice day out."

He gulped down the water, almost surprising himself by how thirsty he was. When he lifted his head he looked over at his friend, "That it is. For once. It's been a long winter."

Miroqi watches his friend surface, and stifles a laugh at the water dripping from his chin. "Don't forget to save some for the fish, 'Cari... They might object else." He nodded, serious again, at the comment. "Spring... had best get here soon, or my sanity might break..."

"When they break through the snow I'll bring you a few of those purple flowers you like so much."

Miro beamed and gave his friend a gentle should bump. "You're the best, 'Cari. Always knowin' what to get a boy." He faux-flutters his lashes at his friends.

He laughed, "I know all the best places to find 'em~ And I'm not telling, or else what would I ever have to give you?"

That earned a deep belly laugh, and Miro straightened up from his leaning. "So what were your plans for the day?"

"Honestly? Sleep. I wasn't counting on you coming along."

Miroqi tilts his head. "Well I could let you get back to it, then... But I figured I'd come see you, since it'd been a few days. I don't want you to disappear or something, I'd worry."

He smiled at that, "Thanks. Means a lot to me. I am a bit hungry though," the hunt had been worse then he was willling to admit, "Maybe... know where to find some fruit?"

Miro frowned a little, thoughtful. "This... late, or early in the season? Mmmm... There might be some early berries, I know a place some grow... Other then that, though, I can't think of any winter fruits left, and it's a bit early for spring ones..."

He sighed, "Well thanks anyways."

Frowning some, he sighed. "I wish I had a better answer... It's just not the best season for foraging, after all."

"Maybe I'll head out for another hunt tomorrow," better than waiting for hunger to set in. "But if I do that then I really do need to get back to sleep."

Miroqi sighs and nods. "All right... I will let you sleep. But don't forget to..." His tone lowers into a teasing, flirtatous sound. "Come on up and see me when you're done."

He laughed, dropping his head a little, "I will, I will. guess it's time to go back to my cold and lonely little hideaway."

He smiles and shoulder bumps his friend. "Sleep well... I hope tomorrow's hunt is more successful then your last."

"Thanks," he said, turning to head back home. "I need it."
