Kadryn woke up covered in dried blood and lying amid the blood splattered rocks. Instead of soft breezes whispering through trees and the sounds of birds welcoming the morning, there was a hot dusty wind and the rumbling of the volcano as it shook as lava leaked out and down the mountain sides and a plume of smoke and dust blotted out the sunrise.

“Ik, this is no way to wake up… kinda gross actually.” Kadryn muttered to herself as she looked around for her bag that she’d thrown aside in her battle last evening and found it hanging from a dead tree nearby. Grabbing her water bottle, she drank some and then dampened a cloth and attempted to clean up some if the blood.

“I’m going to reek real bad today…” Kadryn sighed; she didn’t mind getting dirty, but having yesterday’s blood and sweat caking her was rather disgusting. As she ate a quick breakfast, she spotted another dragon wandering towards her, its head near the ground snuffling at something.
“Perhaps a preemptive strike is called for here. While I’d rather have a straight up battle, I’m still hurting from last night so that wouldn’t be very smart” Kadryn whispered as she crept towards the oblivious dragon.
As it wandered towards her, Kadryn wondered what it was doing… had she killed a female who was in heat last night? And this male was attracted to the now dead dragon’s old scent? Could be, Kadryn thought, well, if it wants to give me a second orb with little effort, I’m not one to say no!

As it came closer, Kadryn silently jumped out from her hiding spot and smashed her mace down upon its head to destroy its skull. She loved how her mace felt when she hit tings! It died quickly and quietly, a clean kill. Smiling to herself, Kadryn bent down to pick up the other orb and when she straightened up, she was facing yet another male... probably here for the same reason as the first! Grinning, Kadryn launched herself at the new foe. Knowing that she’d probably have to flee since this was a larger Firani and was using its fire more than the last ones had. But that didn’t matter right now, what mattered was the fight itself, to give as good as she got, to feel the blood singing through her veins and the joy of battle.

About mid-morning, Kadryn could feel her exhaustion even through her beserker filled mind. Time to run while she could still fly! Lashing out one last time, Kadryn scored a nasty hit and broke its wing so it couldn’t chase her. Grabbing her bag and orbs as it tried to bite her, Kadryn flew up into the sky and away from the battle.

Covered in new and old blood, sweat and dirt Kadryn just wanted a bath, nap and then meal. She took out the two Firani orbs that she’d claimed, she smiled at the soft fiery glow that they gave off.

“Two in one trip! Da is gonna be so proud of me! Bet Grrel won’t believe me either.. hmm, that reminds me, I never did go visit her clan…”
She flew to the docks along the beach. She’d have flown home, but two real battles and one ambush had exhausted her and she didn’t think it would be too safe to attempt flying across the ocean… she might end up falling asleep and falling into the ocean! She dropped onto the beach, and decided to get a little bit of clean up done now and headed into the sea to wash off most of the blood and dirt. The salty water stung as it hit her wounds, but it was worth it to be slightly cleaner.
As she walked onto the ferry a sailor asked how her hunt had gone, grinning she held up her two Firani orbs, “Successfully!”
