The day had finally arrived when Kavanna decided to take her life under her own control once again. For the past 16 years she was at the every whim of her son or husband, always there for them. She knew that being a good wife and mother was most important, and she never thought otherwise. But now that her husband was away constantly on training missions for the Citadel and her son was living in the Celestial Plane, Kav decided it was time to reclaim her past victories and try her hand at mastering the Ysali magics once again. It had been quite a while since her last dragon hunt, in which she took her boy to see the Aiskala dragons of Aisko. They were ambushed and the two retreated quickly. That was her last known memory of a dragon hunt and that was ages ago.
Kavanna's trails brought her back to Aisko once again for a second time. She was pondering her tactics and wondering if there was something she should do differently this time around. Her last encounter was just because far too many Aiskala dragons were en route of her and her son, fleeing was their only option aside from death.
As she reached the icy shores, she took a step out, hearing the Aiskala dragon call from far away. The wind was slight and quite a bitter cold. It was times like these she wished she had chosen the Aiskala clan as her own, simply because this cold would be nothing in comparison to the icy blood that ran through their veins.
The Dovaa walked slowly down the frosty paths, meeting no dragons on the way. Further down the way, however, she noticed the sparkling crown of an Aiskala dragon sticking from a mound of snow and ice. This was her chance. A resting dragon, this was perfect!
With a flick of her wrist, two dark green vines sprouted forth from the ground. And with another, they were off, waving through the air towards their target. With two very powerful slaps in mid air, the two vines smacked down extremely hard onto their target, the dragon instantly awoke, screaming as loud as it could and retreating into the air a bit. With those same vines, Kavanna flung them towards the opponent again, this time, only to have them frozen by a breath of frost magic escaping the dragon's mouth.
Kav tried her best to pull the vines from the ice, but she was powerless at that point. She cut her ties with those vines, and resurrected two more, sending them after the flying opponent. With the dragon distracted, she pulled from a small pouch, a few small leaves she had collected before her travels. Imbuing them with plant magic, she then threw them and allowed them to glide upon the wind towards the Aiskala.
It was then that she felt the icy breath upon her back. It stung and the pain was unimaginable. She turned around as quickly as she could only to be pawed in the face by a giant dragon claw. She fell to the ground, patting her bloodied face in anger. There were now two Aiskala's, one in front and one behind her. She quickly healed herself up, leaving no scars, but she knew she didn't have a chance. The other dragon, whom was still distracted by the two vines whippings, called for help once again. The same call that she had heard on her last encounter with the Aiskala. She knew she would soon be overwhelmed and outnumbered. She had to make her escape.
As this other Aiskala took in a deep breath to send forth a rush of frost magic, Kavanna quickly sprouted a new vine, killing off one of her previous in the process, and wrapping the neck of this Aiskala tightly, squeezing it, cutting off the magic supply.
Kav quickly sprinted away from the scene, feeling the power of her two vines die as she made her escape. She could hear the two Aiskala flapping their wings behind her as she quickly began to glide herself back towards the boat.
It was over, her travel to Aisko was a failed attempt at another dragon hunt. It would only be a matter of time before she would return however. She knew she needed to kill those damn dragons for her own sanity.
