Lust stood at the beaches edge with a small basket of food, a quiver of arrows over her shoulder and a bow over her other shoulder and looked out at the surf, the sun was out and the water looked so inviting and after spending a while with Atlantis and Twinkleshine she had realized how much she now wanted a home here "this day couldn't get any better" she said as she walked over onto the sand and sat down, deciding that looking for possible house locations could wait till after lunch. Lust put her arrows and quiver down and and shook her head at them with a sigh, being that she was her fathers daughter she had learnt to turn his hunting lessons into how to catch guys but now, having put his lessons right again, she now had to hunt and she hated it. "Just think of Aella, just think of Aella" she softly told herself, as a parent, she now had to feed that little girl at home, whom her father said he would babysit, but still, she LOATHED killing animals but her daughter needed her and so she now had to pick up a bow and arrow and shoot a poor rabbit or whatever just so her daughter wouldn't go hungry.
Wiping a tear away from her eye, hating that she would, on her way home, be killing a poor defenseless animal, she opened up the basket and took out a small blanket and started unpacking her food, it wasn't much but the fruit salad, a muffin and water was enough to last her till dinner time so she just cleared her mind, dug her hooves into the sand and watched the surf for a bit, trying to not think about what she was going to do on the way home.

Being braver these days since she'd grown bigger, Mnemo chanced trips to the surface just to look around. She wanted to see this other world almost as bad as she wanted to fit in with the one she was born to.
Today, it was a nice day. Warm, but not overly so. Spring was nearby and from what she'd heard, it was the favored time of year for many Pae'il, including Naiad. The Naiad hybrid floated upwards, only barely breaking the surface enough to look around on the beaches. She had to make sure no one else was around so she could try going on land again. Last time didn't go so well when she was laughed at.
Her golden hair floated in the water around her as she turned and moved towards the small secluded Chaen Beach. The other beach was a firm "no" because there were far too many Pae'il there.
She almost didn't see the brown, winged, hoofed creature reclining on the sand. She'd gotten halfway out of the water before seeing her, and quickly scuttled back to hide.

Lust had just picked up her container of fruit salad when she saw movement out the corner of her eye, not sure what it was and so she placed her fruit salad back on the blanket and moved over towards the water and where she thought she saw the movement, it may not be anything but she was curious as to find out if that was the case or if it was something more. "Hello?" She called as she reached the waters edge "is someone there?" She asked curiously as she looked waded out a little way before looking down into the water "if there is, it is alright, I won't hurt you, I promise" she said, deciding to wait a little bit to see if anyone came and so she said in the shallows of the surf and waited, if no one came she would go back to what she was doing but if someone was out there she would like to see them.

Mnemo only hid. She did not retreat. She was curious, but cautious as well. The hooved female certainly didn't look threatening. She spoke in low, calm tones at least.
Her blonde hair broke the surface first, then her eyes. She looked directly at the furry Pae a few yards in front of her. With quick glances to each side, she noted she was alone. Cautiously, she lifted her head out of the water. Her intuition told her there was nothing to be afraid of, but that healthy fear of everything on land had kept her alive so far.
"Hello," she says quietly.

Lust smiled at the Naiad and stayed where she was so she didn't scare her "hello there, would you like to join me for lunch?" She asked, knowing it was rather forward but she gestured towards the blanket anyway "I know it is a rather forward request and I apologize for that and it isn't much but if you are hungry I don't mind giving you some of my food" she said, willing to go hungry if the other wished to have something to eat and, besides that, food was always a good way to bond over when making friends. "I am Lust, by the way, may I please ask who you are?"

Red flags waved all over the place. Stranger. Request to eat food. Going out of the water. Mnemo moved her arms underwater, drifting backwards. She didn't understand why this creature was being nice. Maybe she's not noticed that Mnemo is different.
She also said a lot of words. This was something completely new to the Naiad. Most others she's ever encountered were very pointed in their choice of dialogue. On the other hand, her exposure to others outside of her mother and Anxo was limited to kids laughing at her on the beach and Naiad thinking she was some sort of lurking monster when she was snooping around the temple.
She'd never had food from the land. Was the curiosity worth it? Would this girl laugh at her too? She decided to stay put for now. Learn a little more maybe. "I'm Mnemo," she spoke with a soft voice that was new to the air. "Do you live there?"

Alright so maybe it was a bad thing to offer? Watching the other go back a little she decided that the food can wait, she obviously wasn't a fan of land like Atlantis was starting to be so she thought it would be best to take it slowly "it is a pleasure to meet you, Mnemo and yes, I do live on land though here, at the beach, it is a place I would like to live, I live in my Aunt's place at the moment whilst she is visiting her home but I would like to make my home on the beach. What about you? Have you ever left the water to explore this place a little?" She asked curiously, knowing that, after speaking to Atlantis, some did like land and spending some time here so she was curious if the other had ever stepped foot on land or just stayed within the water.

The offered food wasn't a bad thing, Mnemo would love to taste it. She was just leery it might be a trap. On more than one occasion, Lethe used food to lure her out of her hidey holes, so she'd grown accustomed to offered food being bait.
Listening to Lust, Mnemo tipped her head, confused. She speaks in riddles. Did she say she lives with an ant? At the faun's question, she shook her head. "No," deciding to hold off on telling her the reason, she asked her own question. "Have you been exploring in the water?"
Mnemo wasn't purposely being rude and standoffish, she just had never met a land pae on land before, so she was a bit skittish. Enough trust would pull the Naiad girl out of her shell. A little bit, anyway.
Curiosity got the best of her anyway, so she had to ask. "Why do you live with an ant?" In her mind's eye, Mnemo was picturing the faun girl with beautiful wings living in an anthill.

Alright, if she didn't want the other to tell her then she didn't have to, she would leave it alone now "I have realized I do love the water, a Naiad friend of mine, Atlantis, he helped me grow to love it just recently, not that I hated it before I just didn't get to be in it often that was all so I now have gotten rather fond of it." Lust said as she stifled a giggle "no, I don't live with an ant, I live in my Aunt's home, an Aunt is my fathers sister, so she would be a relation of mine. Do you not have these terms where you come from?" She asked the other curiously.

The way this girl talked intrigued Mnemo. So many words! "You have Naiad friends?" Another thing catching her attention. She only knew two other Naiads by name, her mother and Anxo's father, so Atlantis wasn't someone she'd know, but the fact that he's a Naiad is cool to her.
"An 'ant' is a father's sister?" Mnemo muttered this outloud, trying to wrap her mind around this. Shrugging, Mnemo moved a little closer in the water. "I wouldn't know. The water fairies have explained relations to me, but I have not heard of "aunt" before, the way you say it. But I have heard of ants, the bugs."
She's hardly the ambassador for Naiad culture, so she wondered how much this girl might know of it, herself. "I don't come from where the other Naiads do, so I don't know their culture very well."
"Are you from the big Tree?" she asked curiously, knowing the hooved Pae come from the Tree of Life. At least, that's what she was told from the fairies who tried to make sure she was knowledgeable about the world, when her mother wouldn't teach her anything.

"Just him, I just met him recently and he is a good, kind Naiad, I am pleased to have met him, he was fun" she said, wondering a little how he was and if he was settling into his new home well enough "well, these are not bugs, some do say Aunt like ant though but some also pronounce it ahnt so I guess it just depends on how you were taught when. If you will let me, I could teach you a little more about family relations if you want, I am not fantastic at it but I guess I could give you at least the basics" she offered the other. "And...water fairies?" She asked curiously "Atlantis never mentioned them to me so I must admit, I am a little curious about them" she said as she pulled her knees up and hugged them as she looked at the other a little oddly.
"you don't come from where the other Naiads live? I thought you would of lived in one community" she said, her ignorance showing, but after hearing a bit about the Faun's when she was growing up no many lived away from the Great Tree either, her father never told her his reasons just that he was a hunter so he lived a life of solitude but she always believed there was more to it then that. "And no, I am not from The Great Tree, my other father is but as for me, from what I have heard, the leader, Rais, isn't a huge fan of hybrids, I am now trying to get into his good books by siding with him and his own but i am a Demi-Goddess whereas my father is a Faun and my other father is a God so I am not technically allowed in The Great Tree" she said with a sigh, wishing she would be able to live there one day but maybe that would be a dream better left alone, besides, the beach had started to suit her better.

Mnemo moved around in the water a little bit, watching Lust before answering her questions. "You have fairies up here. They're all over the island, taking care of it, watching out for everypae. The water fairies help me. They teach me what I need to know. And you can teach me? I'd like that." she says. This is the most Mnemo's ever talked at once in her life. She's usually very quiet and uses her words sparingly.
At the mention of the word Demi-goddess, Mnemo stops moving and floats back. Gods are bad. They cursed Lethe with me. "You are ... related to the gods?" her voice cracked a little, showing some of her apprehension at this revelation from Lust. The rest of the information she was delivered suddenly became moot. If this girl is related to the beings who cursed her mother, there's no telling what Lust could do to her.
((For the record, no Pae should know of Rais' hybrid disTRUST. Players were told about it so they could consider it with future breeding & personal plotting, but no PAE should know about it. Not yet. The war hasn't started. ))

((Sorry, I know this, I know Pae are not meant to know, half past 11 at night isn't a good time to RP when i am tired me thinks. ^^; )) Lust blinked at the other "we do?" Admittedly she was a tad ignorant in the ways this island worked, she knew some things but mostly she was ignorant, she just played by the rules (for the most part) and if she got in trouble for breaking said rules then so be it but beyond that she knew next to nothing really how the island actually worked and who was taking care of whatever things had to be taken care of to keep the island how it was. "Yes, I can teach you, as long as you are willing to learn I can teach you about family and relations" she said smiling at the other "then it is settled, I will help you as little or as much as you want whenever we see each other unless you would like to make a time for the meetings?" She suggested, letting her be the one to call the shots.
Did she say something wrong? She watched the other swim back and now was a little scared she may have upset the other so just gingerly carried on "I am related to them, my father, Himeros, he is the God of Lust, he has his faults but he is a happy-go-lucky sort of guy and is a kind father, not that I could really vouch for him, he never exactly was in my life but my cousin, Abby, she says he was nothing but good to her and was a father figure to her and I believe her."

Mnemo ducked her head down into the water, only her eyes above the surface now. She was prepared to dart away. She did not trust the Gods. Lethe told her they were bad, and they are the reason she was cursed with an abomination.
She did not care what kind of father this God of Lust was. What relevance did it have to her? And a cousin. What's a cousin? This furry, hooved girl was so very strange in how she talked so much without really saying anything.
"If you are related to them, how can I trust you?" she said with genuine suspicion and concern in her tone. Maybe she could finally get some answers for her mother out of this girl, if anything else. Or maybe this God's child would curse her too. Either way, Mnemo was thinking it could be worth getting new information.

Lust just stayed where she was, deciding this was the best course of action "I could ask you the same thing, how can I trust you?" She asked curiously but decided to answer her anyway "I am not entirely sure what I could do but if there is anything you wish for me to do or get you to show that you can trust me then please, ask, I will do it" she said, knowing that it is a sort of bad answer but she did just want to make friends as she really didn't have much of them and this one seemed kind enough although she was scared.
