(Temporary Posting Format)  【It was morning, and a fresh crisp breeze weaved throughout the many buildings of Karakura Town. Higher up in the sky, far away enough so as not to cause any physical damage to anyone- was a lone figure. He was perched into a neat crouch, examining the ruby-red tassel of his zanpakuto. The black and white Kosode and Hakama that clothed him indicated the fact that he was a Shinigami. Wrapped tightly around his arm was an armband- on which was a plate labeled with his respective squad number. He was Raine Shiba, the Lieutenant of the Ninth Division. "Hmmm..." He breathed as his turquoise eyes studied the cityscape below him. "I wonder what Hisana wanted from me... let alone up here. Perhaps she just wanted to to train- it's the most sensible explanation I can think of." Raine concluded as he stood back up.
He was using a very common Shinigami technique that enabled him to float up in the air. He had solidified the spiritual pressure beneath his feet- creating something of a flat surface. He glanced around- seeing nothing else but the orange-painted horizon. "I wonder where she is... She said she'd be here by sunrise."】

A quick tap landed on Raine's shoulder, and if he turned around to see who it was, there would be no one there.
A young female stood at the edge of the rooftop. Her high-collar top swung lightly in the breeze, in tune with her tattered hakama and blazed orange hair, cascading against the beautiful sunrise. There was a joyful look in her visible eye, and a smirk crossed her lips, while she waved her bare hand. This was Hisana Kurosaki, a mere sixteen-year-old shinigami in training, mentored by yours truly. "Top o' the mornin', Shiba," she chimed, jumping down from the ledge with her sword swung over her shoulder. "Sorry to call you so early, but I figured Kusabana-taicho would have you up and at 'em anyways." Knowing Raine and his practical jokes, he had the tendency to slack off work quite a bit, depending on what it was. She could already predict there was a mountain of paperwork sitting on his desk in his office he'd spoken so much about, ready to topple over.
"So, ya ready to train?" Hisana swung her blade out of its sheathe on the back of her waist, swinging it around with a multitude of flips and curves, before she clutched its hilt in her hand. "And ya better not pull the clones out on me. Fireworks, I'll allow. But that's it."

(Temporary Posting Format) 【Raine felt the tap and smiled, already well aware of who the person was. Casually, he peered over to where Hisana was standing. "You pull that trick a lot dontchy'a?" He inquired with a chuckle, rolling the sleeves of his kosode up the length of his forearm. At the mention of Kusabana-Taicho, Raine already could vividly imagine the predicted expression on her face when she would see the amount of paperwork Raine left over from the night before. He almost chuckled. If Kusabana were to ask him where he was, he'd simply say that he was out helping Hisana hone her shinigami abilities. This, in his mind, was a valid excuse. "But yes, I am ready." He re-focused his attention on Hisana, who mentioned she had no interest in Raine using any of his clones.
"Oh, again like I usually say. I don't use my physical gigai clones in a formal battle unless the situation becomes too desperate and I absolutely have to resort to them. I feel as though today won't be the case seeing as your goal is not to kill me." Raine muttered with a chuckle as he drew his blade from the sheath. "If you're referring to my light-copies, that falls within the reign of my zanpakuto's abilities- therefore those I will be using. As you may already know, they are my main defensive ability. Anyways, enough chit-chat, eh?" He asked as he twirled the blade around on a single figure, maneuvring it so it made an impressive Figure '8'. He finally grasped the hilt of the blade and aimed it at Hisana. "I recommend you stay on your toes- I won't go easy on you this time around." A glint of sunlight sparkled off the surface of Raine's blade as if on cue, implying Raine was quite ready for battle.】

It wasn't an ordinary day where Hisana would just have to wake up and go to school. She got to skip this time around, and go spend the day with one of her best friends. She smirked, as Raine pointed his sword at her, and she very well did the same. "Bring it!" she hollered, diving forward with her hand gripped tightly around the hilt. Whether they clashed blades or she made a hit was up to him, but either way, she was having fun. "Y'know Shiba," she mentioned on the side, "I'm glad I have such a good friend as my mentor. Otherwise, I think I'd be stuck in my uncle's place all day." That was a valid point. Byakuya's teaching methods were a little unorthodox. She rather wouldn't be sitting around doing calligraphy and meditating all day, let alone practicing that blasted Kido. She wasn't good at it even a little bit. Last time she tried the first Hado spell, she recoiled back into the wall and dislocated her shoulder. No way in hell she was going through that again.

(Temporary Posting Format) 【With a graceful swing of his sword, Raine's blade met with Hisana's- sending sparks flying everywhere upon impact. For a moment he held the lock, gazing back at Hisana. "Haha- Yeah- I am definitely one to agree to that. While Byakuya is an excellent swordsman- he usually won't train you in that field until you've mastered all the minor elements beforehand. I imagine the only thing he's covered with you is basic zanjutsu. His idea of the ideal shinigami is a well-rounded one, or rather one that is proficient in all areas as opposed to a select few things. Why do you think it took so long for Baraku to get into the Shino Academy? But look at him now... he graduated at the top of his class in about half the amount of time a usual shinigami would take to go through it." Raine explained, kicking off from the blade-lock. "And besides, anything to help family out when needed... Am I not right, Hisana Shiba?" He teased, using a name that had been disowned by her strand of the family two generations ago.
"Let's see how you fair against- THIS!" He said as he leapt high into the air, holding out his hand. "Bakudo Number 62.... Hyapporankan!" He shouted as a white rod of energy formulated into Raine's open palm. With a powerful thrust, the heaved the rod straight towards Hisana. The rods then separated into multiple beams- all aimed to pin Hisana down.】

She was glad Raine agreed with her, as their blades locked. A smirk couldn't help but cross her lips at the mention of Byakuya's methods. "Yeah. What a stick in the mud," she teased, kicking away from the clashing of metal, before she landed in a neat crouch with only her feet to balance on. She was ready for anything when it came to battle...except for the spontaneous Kido attack. Quickly, she started moving in a fleet-footed fashion, flash-stepping away from one white rod after another, until they were all just about gone.
And then he called her by that name.
Despite being part of the family, she hated being called anything but a Kurosaki. Her eyelid twitched, before she smirked with an agitated curve of her mouth. "Got that right," she spat back, "Raine Kurosaki." With another swing of her blade, not only had she avoided the last of the Hyapporankan rods...but she sliced the last of the pack in half before it could hit the ground. And she didn't even have to swing her sword; she just held it in place, edge-up, while a crisp, loud sound of grinding metal resonated through the morning air. It fell to the ground in opposite directions, dissipating into the air.
"Now..." she muttered, grinning wickedly. "Let's see how fast you can dodge this." Hisana sprung from the ground, using her feet as a makeshift launching pad, as she dove straight at Raine, aiming to quite literally pile-drive him down in mid-air, elbow sticking out. And even if that didn't work, she always had a few backflips and roundhouse kicks up her sleeve. "And before I forget... Are there anymore relatives our age I should know about before I have a panic attack later on? I'd rather not have it be that either my worst enemies or future soul mates and I be...ugh—related."

(Temporary Posting Format) 【"Nope! No one else!" Raine chuckled as he swerved out of the way, allowing for her to rocket straight past him. "And that's not how last names work. It would have followed your grandaddy down to Kurosaki-san. Then you would've been stuck with the name. It would not have worked the other way around." He then kicked off the ground, hardening the pressure beneath him and gradually skipping higher and higher until he was considerably high in the sky. He was interested in seeing if Hisana had properly grasped the whole concept of sky ascension by using solidified spiritual pressure. Finally, he came to a stop, looking down to where Hisana was. He readied his blade.】

"Oh, shut up, buzzkill!" That was all Hisana had to say when Raine lectured her on last names, before flying up into the sky. She looked up, seeing nothing but the underside of his feet...and about a meter up his hakama. She slapped a hand over her eyes, jumping up into the sky after him, merely standing in mid-air at his level like she understood—when, in reality, she could tumble out of the sky at any second. She crossed her arms, giving him an irritated look. "Let's get this going," she curtly stated, "because I have an urgent katana-sharpening appointment I have to get to."
Her blade weaved in and out of her fingers, as she tapped her toes against the solidified reiatsu beneath her. She had to keep moving, otherwise she'd tumble out of thin air. Her position morphed into a crouch, almost a running position, as wind-like thrusts of her reiatsu began to build up behind her, almost like a missile revving up its rockets. Hisana had full intention to slam into him again, but was preparing for something he'd never expect, let alone have time to dodge.
"Oto Tejun!" she shouted, before she rocketed off from the surface. As she took off flying through the air, a loud BOOM! of thunder reverberated through the skies, and a massive turbulence of wind was circulating in a tunnel-like fashion all around her being. She was by far the only shinigami to travel at the speed of a sonic boom.
And boy, was Raine in for its full blast.
{{Oto Tejun (音手順 Viz: Sonic Step) ◇ This ability grants her the power to enhance her shunpo speed up to the levels of a sonic boom, capable of moving a mile and a half in three seconds. Upon the sudden jolt of a take off, the only remnant of Hisana's having used the ability will be what sounds like a thunder bolt hitting solid concrete. }}

(Temporary Posting Format) 【By the time Raine had situated himself, he peered down to Hisana. He seemed to flicker for a second- almost as if his body had glitched. He then crouched and awaited Hisana's arrival. All of the sudden, he heard the attack sound. "Oto Tejun!" In a matter of seconds she blasted herself towards him using a special sonic boom technique. Granted, if Raine hadn't replaced himself with his light copy by the time he reached this height, he would've certainly been in for it. Just as Hisana made impact with Raine, his form dissipated into thin air- as if he was composed entirely of rain drops. Several feet away, Raine removed the camouflage with which he had coated his body- revealing his form. "You know... one of the advantages of being a Shiba, my dear Hisana, is the ability to generate firework reiatsu. That didn't seem to go through Isshin's side though. It's a little technique that packs quite a punch..." He chuckled as he used the light to phase two other copies of himself. He held up his arm, bent at a 90 degree angle. Suddenly, he twisted his fist, and it sparked alive with various vibrant fireworks. His fist fizzled with a brilliant display of exploding color- burning and fuming with a heavy smoke. Each of Raine's copies did the same. Then, he pulled it out from his kosode- it was a string of spherical paper bombs all strung together. Then, he and his two other light copies darted after Hisana- making it unclear which one of them was the real threat. 】

There was a brief moment, when Hisana thought her sealed state ability would be successful for once. However, once Raine flickered for a moment, she raised her brow, in high suspicions...before she realized she had completely phased through an illuminated duplicate. Panicking, she tried to come to a halting stop, only to plant face-first into the concrete side of a building in the distance. Dust stirred in the air, and chunks of the rock hard substance flew about. When it all cleared, there was a massive fissure where she had stopped, and she fell to the ground, immobile for just the briefest of moments. People looked from their morning activities and stared at the sudden crash, completely unaware a shinigami or two were in their presence.
Hisana got up from the rubble, an infuriated glare in her eyes, as her breath became much more rugged, almost animalistic. "D-...damn it... Shiba-boy... I'M GONNA KILL YOU FOR THAT!!!" Her words turned into a mad Hollow's roar, before she took off shunpo'ing again. Throughout the cascade of brilliant fireworks, she flickered again and again through the air, both everywhere, and nowhere at once. One by one, she was flying through the light clones, intent on taking down Shiba for that little stunt. The girl had always hated that stunt—it got both her and her friends hurt on more than one occasion. Her blade was swinging furiously through the air, slicing everything in its path, as she fought with literally a half-blind rage. Damn, she was pissed—to a point where she managed to catch one of the fireworks and chuck it miles through the air. She had always been strong, but became even stronger upon discovering her shinigami self.
Her fists curled up tight, knuckles turning white, as she turned to her mentor with a deathly glare. "You have one second to run before I go Shikai."

(Temporary Posting Format) 【"Jokes on you..." Raine muttered as he allowed a millisecond's worth of silence. Hisana hurled one of the fireworks away. It had been attached to a string, allowing the majority of them to follow after in a trail. Raine then grabbed hold of the string and tugged it backwards, forcing the string of fireworks to come straight back towards the two of them. This allowed for little reaction time from either of them. Raine applied his hand to the string, causing a spark to rocket up the length of the string, and the explosive paper firework bombs combusted into several colorful bursts just as the fireworks were in close enough proximity to the two of them. Raine knew that this would cause some damage to himself, but he was used to receiving burns from the fireworks- and was willing to suffer such consequences in an effort to challenge the Kurosaki girl.】

There was only a bare second for Hisana to realize what had just happened. The fireworks she had hurled came flying right back, and a spark was traveling up a string like a fuse. Her eyes widened, as an explosion followed, lashing at her skin in quick, stinging bursts. Already, her skin was charred in sparse areas, but not enough to make her bleed. Teeth gritting, she turned to Raine, raising her blade perpendicular to her body (kind of like this), before a bright red aura began to emanate from both herself and the sword.
"Open your eyes," she commanded, "Naku no Bijonashi." The entire zanpakuto burst with a crimson reiatsu, creating a large red whirlwind around them. When it cleared only seconds later, Hisana was standing at the same level as her opponent, her sword a titanium silver with sharp edges along both the hilt and the blade. What her shikai did was still a mystery—though it was obvious it held a strong resemblance to her father's, minus the length of it, being half the size of a normal zanpakuto. She parted her lips, giving him a fanged grin, as she raised the blad up to a point where it landed at the tip of his nose.
"What else ya got, sparky?" she challenged.

(Temporary Posting Format) 【"So- finally broke out the Shikai"Raine joked as he, too, drew his blade. He kicked off from the ground to gain a considerable amount of distance between the two. Eyeing Hisana, he held his zanpakuto vertically. "Blind them... Hisuihikari." Raine breathed- closing his own eyes. He spun the blade slowly, and the metallic surface itself began to radiate with brilliant light. Soon, Raine managed to coax a wave of plasma into existence. The green substance shifted and warped, moving gently with Raine's blade like the ripples in water. Raine finally stopped spinning the blade- holding it straight up. Three rings formed around the blade- one on either side, and a final one at the very top. These would remain present so long as he did not use them throughout the battle. Raine began to develop a few mental strategies- considering what attacks would come out of Hisana's zanpakuto. 'I haven't seen her really use it much before- aside from fighting. I can only hope that it's like her dad's.' He concluded, moving himself into a braced stance- so he could deliver efficient attacks. Raine began with his first attack. He sliced his blade to the side, allowing for the wave of plasma to radiate outwards and rush towards Hisana in a clean slice.】

"Well, what choice did I have?" she spat with a hint of sarcasm, twisting her blade in-between her fingers. "You pissed me off to a point where I had to-" Hisana paused for a moment, as Raine unveiled his own. She raised an eyebrow, seeing the blade with the three rings placed where they were. If one were to look closely enough, they would find the arrangement of the bottom two rings made it look like... She held back a laugh, bending backwards on one hand to balance, as the wave of plasma energy came towards her. Just barely, her stance let it fly right over the tip of her nose, hitting nothing but the air around them.
"Ha! You call that an attack?" Hisana joked. "I've seen Dawn do better! But no matter. You're gonna eat plasma soon enough~." That being said, she kicked off from the ground, flying high up in the sky to the sun, twirling around as she went. She could've been an acrobat, had she wanted to. But fate had other plans in store for her. The golden rays of light hid her from distinct view, as, fast as a bullet, she had used Oto Tejun once more, intent on slamming down into Raine again.
