Just the simple fact that Aiyana had placed her hand into Helena's made the lycan very happy. This was clearly a big step for the spirit, as she could see - and smell - the apprehension as the cute little spirit mimicked her actions. Gently holding the woman's hand was enough for Helena, and letting go as the other woman did, her crystal grey eyes seemed to be even warmer. Smiling more as a shy admission came about loving sunlight and open spaces, Lena knew that although the roof of their apartment complex was large, there was still a large park across the road they could visit whenever they wanted. And hearing that she'd try and help her brother Isaiah? Helena could have hugged the sprite. That was all she wanted to hear, that she'd at least try.
Watching the woman look around the room like she'd never really noticed it, Helena's heart went out to the spirit, and a deep sadness welled up inside her as she heard the pain and panic in her voice as she mentioned she had nothing. With a warm smile - even though there was sadness in her eyes for Aiyana - Helena walked slowly forward and lead the woman out the slave room with her, a reassuring hand resting gently on her shoulder. "Don't fret darling. It is not a big deal. We'll just go to the shops and you can pick whatever you want okay? Let's get you out of here." Guiding the spirit with a gentle hand on her elbow, Helena felt so glad she found the gentle Flower Spirit when she had; it would have broken her heart to see such a gentle thing with a horrible monster of a Master. Even the thought made the woman chew the inside of her cheek as she paid for Aiyana. It was utterly disgusting that she had to pay for a living being, but sadly that was just the way things worked in this industry.
The Shopping Center thankfully wasn't too far from the manor the slaves were housed in, and showing Aiyana the way to her too adorable Volkswagen Beetle, she set off for the short drive to get Aiyana some nice new things. Parking and locking her car, the small 'blip blip' of her alarm activating sounded as they walked away, Helena gave Aiyana a small grin. "Pick whatever things you want; clothes, shoes, anything. If you've ever wanted something for yourself, just let me know. My brother will take you out to a nursery to get you some plants when you've seen the apartment and roof area okay? Don't be afraid to ask, alright? Find anything." With lovely clothing stores ranging from vintage apparel to upper class modern fashion, Helena was sure the spirit would find something to her taste.
There were some nice bath and beauty shops, shoe shops, everything! Helena had to admit, this place was pretty well equipped for any kind of slave, and she even blushed and quickly averted her eyes as she spied a BDSM shop. People were into that? Scary... "Take your time." Helena added softly, walking next to Aiyana. "We're in no rush to leave, s-so just... Look around and... Find what you want." Feeling slightly nervous again, she wondered how Aiyana might be feeling. She couldn't smell much apart from the nerves from back at the manor, and the manor itself mixed with her delicate, meadow-like scent. Hopefully the spirit wasn't too freaked out by the shopping trip.
||ooc;; apologies for moving Aiyana so much >< and I have no real idea where the Center actually is so I just winged this whole thing haha xD ||

x x x x x x x x x It was obvious that the lycanthrope knew what she was doing, though Aiyana had no reason to question her in any case. She seemed in a good mood and though the flower spirit flinched at the hand on her elbow, she didn't pull away or quite panic. When Helena began to lead her out of the room, clearly not expecting her to bring anything, and then began to talk about picking things out, she didn't know what to say. Not from being speechless from gratitude, but confusion and fear. In all her centuries being a slave, the flower spirit had never been shopping. In fact, she had either been in a master's house or a slave shop, nothing in-between. She had no idea what Helena was talking about and was worried when she didn't do what was clearly expected of her. The woman seemed rather excited, or something, about taking her and the last thing Aiyana wanted was to anger another master so soon. She did seen eager to get her out of there, at least.
The car didn't quite frighten her, as she had been in them before, but she didn't like them. The flower spirit held her breath a bit as they drove and was almost happy to get out of it. Her nerves kept her kept tight at Helena's side - the lycanthrope couldn't lose her if she had tried. It wasn't completely crowded, but enough to make her anxious and hold her breath a little bit. Listening faintly to what the female was saying, it made absolutely no sense to her - other than getting plants. But that wasn't what they were here for and she looked around with wide eyes. The more she looked and the more Helena talked, the more Aiyana began to panic. It was clear she didn't know what to do or really what was even expected of her. Hearing the female get nervous did nothing except make her really start to panic and she tried to swallow, the lump in her throat keeping her from doing so.
"I - I don't know....what to do..." she admitted, her voice in a whisper. The collar felt like it was choking her all of a sudden, the velvet rubbing against her skin like sandpaper. She expected to be reprimanded at best, slapped as well for being ungrateful. Something like that, as none of her masters had ever taken her out shopping or anything of the sort. Nothing appealed to her, it was too...much. Too fake, artificial, bright, glossy, smelly - the list went on. All she wanted was to be outside - there wasn't even any sun here or flowers, they were all fake and making her feel more sick the longer she stood there. The people weren't frightening her, though a few did look her way curiously, her coloring completely unique.
Aiyana had excellent instincts for reading people, necessary to try to figure out her masters and what would anger and please them before she learned the hard way. Sensing that Helena was a 'safe' place, the flower spirit gripped her arm tightly, clinging to her almost desperately. "Please...I want to leave," she whispered, beginning to tremble a bit. She wanted to get out, go in the sun and smell fresh air and not feel like she was suffocating with the chemicals and fumes and all the fake things surrounding her.

Out of nowhere, the smell of fear began to overtake the fresh meadow scent Helena was becoming rather fond of. Eyes widening just a little, the lycan felt her heart tug painfully. She had no idea what to do? How sad... Had people really shut her off from regular activities that much? Tensing as hands suddenly gripped her arm, Helena began to gently hush the clearly terrified spirit. "Shhh, calm down sweetie. We'll go outside, come on love." With gentle guiding hands, Helena lead the spirit out the nearest door to sit in a nice cafe style area. Grabbing a tall glass of water on the way to a table in the warm sun, she let the flower spirit sit down, placing the water in her hands as she knelt down before the woman, a hand gently rubbing her arm.
"Deep breaths sweetie, it's okay, we're outside now." Allowing the spirit to sit for a few moments in silence, Helena came up with an idea. "If you want to leave now, we will. Or I can show you what to do. It's no trouble, really." Offering the spirit a kind smile, she kept gently stroking Aiyana's upper arm in a relaxing way. "There is a shop right at the front that had a lot of loose, flowing dresses and other pretty kinds of comfortable pants and tops. If you want to take a quick look in there we can; we'll just walk around the outside of the center to get there." Hand leaving Aiyana's arm, Helena finally moved to sit on the chair opposite her, a kindly smile on her face.
"We're most likely the same clothing size, so I can help show you what to look for. But if you are really uncomfortable, I can loan you some of my things for now, and we can shop from home on the computer." Crossing her ankles again, Helena tucked some of her hair behind her ear again as she looked up at the clear blue sky for a moment. "Just tell me if you want to give it a go, or if you want to leave. I'm happy to do both; you won't be making me upset or anything like that." Smiling again, the lycan fell silent to allow Aiyana to decide what she wanted to do. The woman didn't want to push the clearly uneasy into doing anything she didn't want to do, and would gladly sit outside for as long as the flower spirit needed. She had no plans for the whole day, and Isaiah wasn't expecting them at all - Aiyana would be a complete surprise.
||ooc;; short, argh >< if Aiyana does decide to go shopping, feel free to move Helena. Likewise, if she wants to go home, feel free to have them both go back to Helena's car :3 ||

x x x x x x x x x Aiyana was both surprised and relieved when not only did Helena keep from growing angry at her, but she took her outside and sat her down in the sun. The water was cool against her palms as she gripped the glass, shaking a bit, and looked at the woman in obvious confusion. No one ever treated her like this and she wasn't sure why or what she had done to deserve it. Taking a deep breath as ordered, the fresh air filled her lungs and after a few more she visibly relaxed, sipping the water carefully. The flower spirit listened to Helena talk, calming down from both her kind words and her soothing actions that were so foreign to her. It was a shock that Helena wanted to help her, rather than simply drag her around like a toy to be shown off, or hadn't gotten angry when she'd asked to go home. Wherever that was, whatever it would be like. It had sounded nice, from what the woman had said.
She really wanted to leave. But at the same time, she didn't want to disappoint this woman who was so kind and so willing to just let her go if that was what she wanted. Even if she said she didn't care. Finishing the water slowly as she basked in the sun, some color returned to her pale skin slowly and her eyes seemed less troubled the longer the flower spirit was able to sit and...well, exist. She didn't understand a word the woman said, to be honest, especially when she started talking about something called a computer. But the tone was clear, that she would do whatever Aiyana wanted to do. Fiddling with the glass once it was empty, she looked around curiously, both thinking and simply examining what was going on around her. "I guess...we can look in the one store...quickly," she murmured, wanting to at least give it a try. The woman had taken her from that place and was so kind...it seemed the least she could do, make some sort of effort in return.
Helena seemed pleased by that and true to her word, they took the long way around the outside of the building to go into the store, rather than taking the flower spirit through the entire thing again. Practically glued to the woman's side, Aiyana looked obediently at whatever the woman pointed out. Her hand made her way into the other female's after a time, gripping it tightly. She was drawn to the dresses, in bright flowery shades and pastels and other colors that reminded her of spring. It was really all she was looking at, were colors, and even then it was a personal preference rather than some aesthetic choice. At some nudging, she pointed out which ones she liked in quiet tones, hesitantly feeling the fabric when told to and tilting her head a bit. Some were very, very soft, while others were silky smooth and cool. They were both equally nice and she told Helena that when asked, causing her to laugh for some reason. Aiyana wasn't sure how much time had passed, but eventually she couldn't take being inside the place for much longer and tugged at Helena's hand once again. "Can we go now? she asked softly, the note of panic that had been there before now missing. It was something, at least.

x x x x x x x x As the spectral dragon promised that his baby wouldn't eat her baby, Aine relaxed a bit and a smile that was much more girlish, more light and honest than the teasing one she'd had on before, appeared on her lips. He wasn't making fun of her and he was being honest about not letting Herbert get eaten, both things that surprised her and she appreciated. Watching as he moved around the bed to her, Aine shifted the well-loved platypus under one arm, she put her now-free hand in his. Her smile widened a bit when he called her 'pretty bird', finding it almost a term of affection rather than a mocking insult, at least the way he had said it. Allowing him to tuck her up against his side, she let him take her from the room and from the entire mansion completely. She was done with this place - and with a creature like Drayce as her master, Aine hoped it was for good. They were both immortal and perhaps if she grew to bore him, he would simply let her go instead of selling her. It was something to hope for, at least.
Once they were outside, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, her chest swelling before letting it slowly out. There was nothing like being cooped up somewhere to make one appreciate the fresh air and Aine did every time she was able to get free like this. Looking up at him with a faint smirk when he mentioned straddling big things, she tossed her head a bit as his arm went around her shoulders. "You needn't worry about how I handle big things much at all," she replied with a mocking laugh, waiting for him to get on before sitting down behind him. She sat sideways, not about to straddle the bike in a minidress - she had some sort of class when it came to this, at least - and wrapped her arms around his chest. Herbert was squished between them and she kept her eyes open as he took off. He was right, the ride was much, much too short for the phoenix and she laughed a bit, a tinkling sort of sound, as they stopped and pulled up in front of the shops. "That was fun, I hope it's a long ride to your house," she told him in pleasure, beaming as she got up and ran a hand through her hair to fix it.
"It seems rather silly to go shopping here when you only have a motorcycle," Aine remarked in amusement, linking her arm through his, Herbert in her other, as she began to tug him inside. "I can just get something decent to wear for riding it home and get what I want online or something, it really doesn't matter." She paused, thinking of something, and freed her arm from his to tug at her collar. "I can't stand having it on, it's suffocating me and my magic," she complained. Rather than sounding as if she were whining, the phoenix really did sound as if she was being smothered by it. She gave him a pleading look, perhaps the only one she'd ever give him, until he reached up and undid the collar. Her eyes fell shut as she sighed in relief, running a hand around her throat. "Thank you, Drayce," Aine said softly, sounding actually serious, before grabbing his arm again. "come on, hurry up. Men are always so slow shopping. I want to go home and see what it's like and see Darcy, this dog of yours who isn't going to eat Herbert." With that, she dragged him inside and looked around momentarily before finding a store she wanted to go in. Perhaps another female would have handed him Herbert to hold as she began to pick out what she wanted to go try them on, but she kept the platypus firmly tucked under her arm and still managed to keep a hold of Drayce in her other one.
If he thought she was going to take a very long time, he was mistaken. The entire thing lasted perhaps thirty minutes and the phoenix was more than pleased with her new outfit, which was much easier to ride a motorcycle in than her dress, which was wrapped up in a bag for her to bring with her. Preening just a bit, as birds with bright feathers would do, she looped her arm through his as he paid and flashed him a bright smile. The ruby on her hand seemed dull in comparison to the crimson of her hair, but she liked it nonetheless, having a weakness for jewels. As long as it was nothing gaudy, she hated those ugly cocktail rings with a passion. "Is there anywhere else we need to - oh! Can we eat something before we go? I'm starving," Aine told him, and then pursed her lips. "What am I supposed to call you? Drayce? Master? I hope not mister such-and-such, I'll feel like I'm addressing someone...ugh." She wrinkled her nose as they walked out of the store, making quite a handsome couple - enough that several people paused and turned their heads to watch them walk out.

Appreciative of the way that Aine not only threw a snappy reply to his teasing comment without a bat of her eyelashes, but seated herself on his bike to accommodate for her mini dress, the dragon was more than happy about how much he paid for her. She was luxury wrapped up in the exterior of a lady with the wit of a ladette. She was simply perfect. Plus her arms around his chest felt pretty darn good too, and he found himself wishing the ride had been longer, for selfish reasons of course. Staying seated on his bike for a moment to watch her dismount and beam at him, Drayce just offered a lazy sort of happy grin before chuckling gently. "It's definitely a longer ride than this little taste. You'll definitely have more fun." Staring at the woman for a moment before getting off his bike, he couldn't get the tinkling sound of her laugh out his head. He's wanted something expensive and pretty to provide entertainment in his life, but clearly there was more to her than a pretty face and a snappy wit. Looking to the shorter woman as she linked his arm through hers again, he felt her tug him towards the shops and willingly, he let her take the lead. The man admittedly liked to shop, but he prefered it when the shopping was all about him. Still, it could be fun to see where this woman dragged him.
Almost immediately Aine pointed out the biggest flaw in Drayce's plans; shopping while he only had his bike. Sure it was pretty damn stupid, but his own pride had gotten in the way; he had money and he wanted to show off. When she mentioned shopping online at home, all he did was shrug with a smile and start to agree with "Sure, whatever my firebird wants..." when she started to tug on her collar, pulling herself away from him. Looking to the collar, horrid thing it was, totally didn't suit her and it wasn't fashionable - he looked back up at her face when she started to complain about it. Thinking for a moment she might have been whining about it, the tone of her voice and the way she looked at him made his face shift into one of mildly stunned surprise. It really was bugging her, and since it was suffocating her magic too and he really wanted to see her phoenix form, there was no questioning what he should do. Stepping forward, his fingers slid around the collar and found the magical clasp. With a bit of fiddling, it soon came unlatched and he pulled it away from her neck, shoving it into his pocket for now. He'd dispose of it at home later on, disgusting thing. Hearing her say thank you though, his stomach knotted uncomfortably. It wasn't something he was used to hearing these days, and it just... It didn't sit right, not since.. Well, he didn't want to think about that right now, not while a feisty red-head was demanding his attention. And talking about getting home and meeting Darcy, the dog who wasn't going to eat Herbert the Platypus.
Having never been shopping with a woman before, Drayce only had memories of when his mother and female relatives would disappear for hours to go shopping, returning with arms so laden with bags they were red and sore. Preparing for the worst, the dragon was pleasantly surprised when the trip took half an hour at the most to complete, the woman appearing in an outfit that was much more appropriate for bike riding, her old dress neatly packed away into a small enough bag to fit between them on his bike. As much as he had loved her bare legs, they looked like they went on forever in the jeans she'd chosen, the heels just adding to the effect. The rings were perfect, even if the ruby didn't glow as brightly as her hair, and he grinned just a little wider as she latched back onto his arm as he paid, the young woman behind the counter giving the red-head an almost angry look. Like the red-head dared to be so clingy to the handsome man in front of her with the lovely purple hair. It was actually rather comical for the dragon, and smirking at the woman as they turned to leave the shop, he made a point to hold Aine's arm in his tenderly, with a sly look over his shoulder. No human should dare look at his Aine like they were better than she was. Aine could burn them in an instant. Humans were boring and weak, not strong like himself and his pretty firebird. Looking down at the now slightly taller woman, his face split into a happy grin at the mention of food - the man was always up for a meal! Laughing heartily as she wrinkled her nose as they exited the store, people turned to stop and stare at the two, and it just made him stand taller and prouder. "You look so cute when mildly disgusted, little bird." He chided playfully, before looking around for somewhere to eat.
Spying signs that pointed to a food court, he took the lead and walked with his head held high, Aine held closely to him. "Just call me Drayce, my sweet." Finally came his answer, turning his eyes to her with a slight grin. "I get called Mister Colorado, and Master Drayce already, I don't need it any more. My housekeeper, Maria, is a little old Portuguese woman. You'll meet her soon enough. Mister Colorado is what my receptionist calls me, so if you can think of a decent nickname, I'm sure I'll answer to it." With a wink, the smile on his face couldn't be wiped off, and even caused a few groups of girls to stare at the "couple" longingly, most likely wishing they had what the beautiful couple had. "On the topic of nicknames, I hope you don't mind the ones I've been using. You haven't seemed displeased yet, but I'm quite sure you'd let me know if any upset you, right?" Slipping back into his old-fashioned manner of speaking, it didn't take them long to stumble across the food court, lined with nice looking cafe's, pastry stores and a few little tea houses. Picking a cafe that had an outdoor area, he lead the red-head through the shop and outside, even going so far as to pull out a chair for her so she could sit down. Seating himself opposite her, a hair tie was slipped off his wrist and his hair was tied into a neat bun to keep it out the way while they ate. Smiling to Aine as they waited for menus to be brought over, he relaxed into the white wrought iron chair and took in the cafe scenery. It was very pretty, and almost Parisian. "Aine? Is there anything you'd like to tell me? Maybe some things you don't like? What kinds of food you eat? If you want to ask anything, I'm happy to answer. Might as well get everything out in the open, hey?" And with a cheeky little wink as a dainty little waitress brought over menu's, Drayce thanked her kindly but didn't look at the list of food items they had to offer, instead waiting for Aine to answer his question. It would be rude to instantly read the menu after asking a lady a specific question.

x x x x x x x x Oh, wasn't someone so smug. Look at that smirk on his face as he showed off. It didn't matter what species, it was always easy to tell when a male was showing off and Drayce was practically strutting. That actually made her puff up a bit, considering she was the reason he was acting like that. Good, that meant he was proud of her, which meant he appreciated her and her looks. More than pleased by that, Aine rolled her eyes when he said she was 'cute' when 'mildly disgusted'. Sure she was. Oh well, it wasn't offensive to be called 'cute' when she was on his arm and swaying out. Especially not when he was so clearly proud to be showing her off with him. Aine had to smirk a bit when he said she could call him a nickname and made a mental note to herself to think of one for him. It could prove amusing, depending on what she could come up with. Nicknames were not her speciality - it implied affection and she rarely held any for anyone other than Herbert - but the phoenix was sure she could come up with something that would amuse her.
Aine was more than well-aware of the envious looks sent their way as they walked past and she found it amusing people thought they were a couple. Well, she supposed they looked like one. And she enjoyed how tall Drayce was - she could wear whatever sort of heels she wanted and there was no way in hell she was going to be taller than him. The phoenix hated being taller than the men in her life, it just made them look pathetic. And the spectral dragon that she was quickly beginning to think of as hers was certainly the sort of man she didn't mind being around. Disgustingly wealthy, handsome, tall, and didn't mind spoiling her rotten. This was certainly the sort of life she could stand having for a time, the phoenix decided, the asymmetrical cut of the coat swishing behind her like a tail as she walked next to him. Well, 'walk' was too bland a term for how the female moved. And saying she was strutting was too tasteless a term. Aine simply owned wherever she walked and moved as if she knew it and was too generous to say out-loud that she was better than them. Well, she was, they were just humans. On one hand, she pitied them, leading their short little petty lives. But she'd suffered too much abuse to feel really any empathy for them, or anyone, by now.
Taking her seat, a bit surprised he had pulled the chair out for her, the phoenix settled in gracefully and listened to his suggestion of telling him more about herself. Herbert got flopped across her thighs where he always went in public. Although she didn't like the idea, she knew he'd have to go in the bag on the way home - he was too fragile to risk something being pulled off by the wind or torn. Tipping her head to the side, a gesture rather birdlike, the female rested her chin on the back of her hand. She acknowledged the waitress with a faint smile, a polite, dull one, and glanced down at the menu curiously before returning her attention to him when she realized he was actually waiting for an answer. "You're right, if you call me something I don't like, I'll say something," she said, sounding almost agreeable, and implying that so far she liked what he was calling her. Thinking on it, she shrugged. "I don't eat green vegetables. Whether they're cooked or raw, I can't stand them," Aine told him. Either they were too slimy or too crispy and left a weird taste in her mouth. "I do like watermelon, though. And apples." Thinking on what else there was to say, what she liked and disliked, what was even relevant, the phoenix tapped her manicured nails on the glass surface of the round patio table for a few moments, thinking. "I don't like airplanes, either. If I have to fly somewhere, I'd much rather do it under my own power," she added sternly, raising the tapping hand to point a finger at him. "So no planes. I refuse to get in one, ever. I don't like them." Aine had been forced to go in one once and that was not a memory she cared to share. Humming a bit to herself, she looked down at the menu, skimming over it, and seeing a chocolate pastry she wanted to try. "I also don't like romantic comedies - comedies, tragedies, dramas...I can stomach anything, but not those. Opera, I like opera and haven't been to one in quite a number of years. My last few masters were not what I would call affluent." Was that a pointed-enough hint for the dragon? She wanted to go to plays, to the theater, to the opera, to museums - she wanted culture and class in her life again. she was certainly more talkative now that she was out of the manor, that was for sure.
Leaning back in her seat, Aine gave him a piercing stare. "What about you, Drayce? I think it's only fair you tell me some things about you," the fire bird pointed out, resting her menu down to signal she was done with it. Crossing her legs, knee over the other, she brushed her hair over her shoulder. It hung down halfway to her back at this point, she liked it long. "I know what you are. I know you like pretty things - obviously," she added, preening a bit. "That you have a dog, and that you're intelligent. So, cough it up," she ordered plainly, wanting to know more about a being as old as she was and that she was with now.

Lunch conversation was going surprising well. She was revealing things she liked and things she hated pretty easily, and he was making mental notes on them. To be fair, most of the things she didn't like he hated too. Green vegetables were definitely on the list, especially green leafy vegetables. Watermelon and apples he could provide, not an issue. Planes weren't fun and he never used them unless he had to, and he definitely hated rom-coms. But when she mentioned opera, the dragon seemed to perk up a little, but not out of curiosity. He seemed almost glad she liked opera and the theatre, like it actually was something that meant a fair deal to him. There weren't many people these days that could appreciate the songs of the opera, or the way people danced across stages to tell wordless tales. These were things he found most pleasurable in life, and finding out that the phoenix enjoyed them too, it was like it opened up a whole new gateway to at least being mutual friends for this whole experience. But then those eyes pierced his vision and he knew the tables would be turned onto him. Smirking and mimicking her actions, he watched her preen while demanding he answer her questions. What did he have to cough up, aside from the truth? Fair game in his mind, and it was time to come clean.
"You want to know what my deal is, don't you?" Drayce asked softly, smoothly, his eyes scanning the menu for anything chicken-based. Looking up at her, he placed his own menu down, finding a delightful pasta dish that contained mostly chicken in cream sauce. "To put it simply and to keep it to the point, I got bored with living in solitude. I fled my home land for reasons I'd rather not mention, and came here. I changed my name, and I doubt they'll recognise me now. I needed someone to stop my life being so monotonous and boring. You seem to fill that gap pretty easily, especially now I know you enjoy the finest pleasures in life - opera and the theatre." Smiling a less cheeky and cocky smile than usual, he seemed genuinely pleased. Conversation broken while their orders were placed and a pitcher of cold water with lemon slices was brought over, Drayce placed his order, followed by whatever Aine was having and poured himself a glass of water, along with one for his pretty bird of his. It was polite after all.
"I don't eat green vegetables but I do eat root veggies like carrots, potatoes and what have you. I eat most fruits, and I prefer chicken to red meat. I eat both happily but I prefer poultry more for some odd reason." Taking a drink of water, he savoured the cool liquid and it's slightly acidic tang from the lemon. "I hate romantic anything, but I do enjoy comedies. Thrillers are my favourite though, and I generally won't watch anything that seems over-the-top dramatic. Planes are pointless when you can travel with the wind in your hair, and there is one major thing... But we'll leave that for when we're home okay?" And with a wink, the man leaned back in his chair as a bottle of red wine was brought over for them. Smiling in a most charming manner, the man allowed the waiter to pour the drinks, watching the young man carefully as he poured Aine's drink. Not wanting the man to think this redhead was up for taking - or flirting with - Drayce's nose wrinkled as the man looked at the red head with the intent to speak to her. Nope, that was not going to happen under his watch, no matter how handsome this boring human was.
Leaning forward slowly, Drayce slid his hand along the table and picked up Aine's hand with the large ruby on her finger and with a little tug, he pulled it closer to bend his head down to kiss the ring. "My dearest firebird, I hope this is up to your liking." He cooed, purposely ignoring the now surprised waiter as he eyed the "couple", and then eyeing the expensive jewellery on her fingers. Realising what was going on, the waiter left without a second glance and a smirk came to Drayce's lips. "I do hope you don't mind, I just wanted to see what his reaction was. I... Enjoy watching how people react to sudden social interactions." Chuckling and letting his thumb brush over Aine's hand softly, he let her hand go after a moment, not wanting to seem too odd, weird or creepy. Besides, their food was most likely about to arrive, and leaning over the table like this was just not on when food was going to be served. Unable to keep the smile down, Drayce chuckled happily at the look the waiter had on his face. He was trying to act aloof and cheerful about it, but in fact, the dragon just didn't like the thought of someone wanting to take his Aine away and distract her from him. It was early days, barely a couple of hours since meeting her, but this phoenix was just what he needed in his life right now.

x x x x x x x x Well, she was sort of surprised he even answered her question - much less so honestly and easily. The phoenix listened to him, since she'd asked she was going to pay attention to what he said, and raised an eyebrow when he mentioned fleeing his homeland. Oh? She was dying to know, but curiosity killed the cat and when an immortal didn't want to talk about something, it was nigh impossible to pry it out of them. She should know. So she settled it in her mind for now, deciding she would ask again another time, and rested her chin on the back of her hand as he continued to talk. His smile surprised her again, seeming less of a smirk and more of something resembling honest pleasantness, and the phoenix decided that she rather liked that expression on his face. When the server came by, she ordered the cake - something called a lava caked, with vanilla ice cream - and took the glass of water after he'd poured her some. Aine took a drink as he continued to talk, finding it amusing they were talking about their eating habits, of all things. So far she liked what he liked, save the chicken part - it was a personal quirk that she didn't eat birds of any sort. When he mentioned something waiting until they were home, she perked up curiously, ready to pray it out of him now. She hated waiting.
And then a handsome young man came over - a human, of course, who else would be arrogant enough to think she'd be interested in them with the spectral dragon right there? Amused beyond words, Aine looked over at Drayce when he took her hand and kissed the ruby like he was some lord of old pledging his allegiance. His smirk was echoed on her own lips as she pulled her hand back, shaking her head as the food came. "I don't eat chicken, or duck, or any birds," Aine told him, once the waitress left. Picking up a fork, she prodded the chocolate cake curiously, sort of expecting it to explode. Slightly disappointed when nothing happened, she broke off a piece and scooped up some ice cream with it, making a happy noise as she tried it. It was rich without being too sweet to make her sick. "Why would I mind? It wasn't as if I was going to speak to him, I don't indulge myself with mortals as of late. They're too dull and shallow," Aine remarked. Ironic, considering how they were. But hers was a practice shallowness, a way to hide what she really felt, a defense mechanism. She couldn't speak for the spectral dragon, but for her at least she preferred to keep people at a distance before they could hurt her and that manifested in a short temper and biting sarcasm to hurt them.
Taking another piece from the cake, Aine blinked when melted chocolate oozed out of it. Oh, that was why they called it that. It was hot, burning hot, but of a course a phoenix didn't care much about that at all. Dipping the cake into the syrup, and then the ice cream, she took another bite and glanced around briefly before returning her attention to Drayce. "What major thing is there?" she demanded curiously, giving him a piercing look. "You can't make me wait until we're all the way home, it isn't fair. I want to know now - I've told you everything you'd asked so far," the phoenix pointed out matter-of-factly, giving him an innocent look. She took a sip of the wine, relieved it was as good as she had hoped, and then a drink of water. One good thing about her metabolism, she could drink and eat all she want and not gain a bit of weight - rather handy when she had cravings, which were rare. Usually when she was just born, or in a new lifetime and wanted to try new things.

And there it was, the first little thing that would divide them. He liked chicken, she was a bird. Obviously she wasn't too put off by it, but to elude from further clashing, he made a mental note to cut out chicken as much as possible. Unless he was in his dragon form, then anything that was an animal was up for fair game. Her snide comment though about the mortals made Drayce snort rather loudly with laughter, a hand covering his mouth so the staff at the cafe didn't shoot them weird looks as he chuckled quite openly. Aine was just too good. That snappy wit, those snide comments. If he believed in love, he might have thought he'd be able to fall for her. But, after everything his family did, love was as dead to him as they were. Plus, who the hell believed in that stupid 'love at first sight' bullshit anymore? Fools and humans. With Aine, it was perfection at first sight. She was as close to him in female form as possible. Looking to their meals - of course the girl got chocolate - he watched her figure out the lava cake. Her first bite clearly hadn't impressed her, and staying silent as he twirled some linguine around his fork, he kept the ball of pasta quite small, and ate like he'd been doing it all his life.
The beginnings of a smirk tugged at his lips as the gooey centre of the cake was finally revealed, the steam from the piping hot "lava" bursting out before disappearing completely. Now she seemed happy, finally figuring out the lava bit to the cake; admittedly the lava part was more about how liquid the centre of the cake was, not the temperature of it, Drayce tucked into his own meal. The silence didn't last long, for soon a question was hurled at him. Caught with his fork in his mouth, Drayce blinked like a curious child would. What the hell was she on about- Oh, right. His major thing that he was going to leave for when they got home. The man had figured that the logical part was to just show her what he didn't want her to touch, but she was basically demanding to know what this "major thing" was. Sighing, the man put down his fork and took a nice sip of the red wine. It was actually pretty damn good, and made a note to order a good sized shipment of this brand. "I had wanted to show you what this thing was, since I didn't think it would sound intelligent to explain it with the object not in sight but..." Shrugging, he grinned. "If you insist. I have a very expensive, very rare kind of piano." Skirting completely around why he had it without hinting to his love of playing the object in question, he spoke without a pause of bat of his eyelids. "I'd really, really appreciate it if you didn't play it without me knowing. I try to keep it as clean as possible, especially the keys so they don't yellow, so if you do feel the need to tap at it, just... Tell me. Or at least tell me later if I'm not around. It's just... It's pretty much the only possession I give a damn about in my house."
There was a part of Drayce that wanted to completely forbid her from ever touching it, to tell her if she touched it, her life wasn't worth the consequences, but he thought about how he'd react if told that. He'd rebel. He'd play it, he'd touch it, he'd probably do something to in on purpose in anger. So giving her the option to play it as long as she told him she did so, it was okay. He could clean the keys and polish it up without an issue. Or maybe she'd even do it herself, the woman did like expensive things, so she'd probably appreciate the instrument as much as he did. Not more though, no-one could love his piano as much as he did. Digging back into his pasta as the phoenix savoured her lava cake, lunch was over and done with before they knew it. Frankly, he didn't want to leave yet, enjoying this day out, but he had outdoor settings like this they could chill outside and drink copious amounts of wine while chattering. Still, it was worth paying for someone to clean up after you, so Drayce just leaned back and rested his arm on the back of the chair he wasn't leaning on. Looking over the iron railing that was almost hidden under a sweet smelling jasmine creeper, he watched the tiny birds around the outside of the shops pick at seed and bugs. If Aine wanted to keep wandering around the shops he was all up for that, otherwise it would probably be time to head home. Unless she began to harass him with questions again.

x x x x x x x x Aine snickered a bit at the dragon when he gave her that confused look, fork stuck in his mouth and cheek bulging a little as he had started to chew. Waiting impatiently for him to finish his bite so she could find out what the fuss was all about, the phoenix rested her chin on the heel of her hand and peered at him sharply as he began to explain. Hearing that it was a piano that was causing him to look at her so sourly, she blinked at him in surprise. What did her in even more was the fact that instead of forbidding her to play it at all, he just told her tell him. Surprised he was willing to let her near it, as it obviously meant a great deal to him, Aine tipped her head a bit, thinking it over for a few minutes as he finished up his meal. "I promise I will take very good care of it," she told him honestly. The female wasn't one for wanton destruction, and he should realize by now that she would cherish anything that was valuable, especially something that had sentimental value. As long as he didn't severely piss her off, his piano would be perfectly safe from her. She had never learned anyway, though she liked to listen to others play, so the desire to try to play with it was practically nil anyway. Curious if it had some deep personal memory or if he just liked it a lot, the phoenix debated on asking and decided she'd settle that another day. They were still feeling each other out, although they were certainly suited to one another, at least on the surface, she thought in amusement.
With that out of the way and settled, the phoenix returned to her lava cake, savoring the last of it as she finished the piping-hot chocolate center. Seeing that her new 'master' appeared bored, she cocked an eyebrow and reached under the table with one of her long legs to prod him in the calf with her boot tip. "If you're done, I want to see my new home," Aine told him plainly, having no interest in these shops now that she had what she wanted. Anything else she could buy on the computer, or have the spectral dragon take her wherever she wanted to go. She had no doubt he would indulge most, if not all, of her whims simply for the amusement it would provide himself along the way. Oh yes, they would get on handsomely. smiling at bit at the thought, she nudged him again pointedly before returning her attention to the stuffed platypus on her lap. Sighing a bit regretfully, she picked up the bag of her old dress that she rather liked and opened it. "Sorry, Herbert," the phoenix said with a sigh, taking the poor thing and tucking him into the bag, tying it shut. She wasn't about to have him fall off the motorcycle and would rather have him suffocate for a bit instead.
It took her no time at all and Aine glanced up at the dragon with a challenging look in her eye, as if daring him to comment on her talking to Herbert. There were many things that would easily set off her temper, but making fun of Herbert was the quickest and worst way to go about it. "I suppose I'll have to hold the bag, it doesn't look as if your seat has a compartment in it," she remarked shortly, tapping her foot as she was clearly eager to get going. It hadn't looked like the seat lifted to serve as a storage compartment, anyway, so she figured she'd just hang on to her package for now. Getting to her feet, the phoenix looking around, found nothing of interest, and gave the dragon a wide smile. "I'll meet you back at the motorcycle, then, I'm bored," she told him easily. Waving at him over her shoulder as she turned around, the female walked off, hips swaying just enough to get the attention of every male she passed as she left the cafe and strode through the markets, heading to their ride home. It seemed the easiest way to make him do what she want - simply to do as she pleased and then he would follow.

The process of purchasing Rowena went smoothly. The two had receive no problems for the guard as Balthazar had lead his new slave back to the entrance of the estate. There he paid for her and as promised he removed her collar once they left the slave shop. Her distaste for the show of ownership that the collar represented was obvious. However he did plan to stop by the jewelry store to get a custom made piece for her to replace her silk collar. Something simple and not so obvious, but it did need to have his family's insignia on it. As much as she may not like it, it would be for her own good. She did not know it yet, but she was about to step into the world of the vampire aristocracy. There was no telling what could happen to her. So if she carried an item that had his insignia, he had a better chance at protecting her from harm. He had a few enemies sure, but there were not many who would challenge him outright. But first, clothes.
Rowena had expressed not having any clothing on hand except for what she was wearing. And if he was honest with himself, he wasn't completely satisfied with her current ensemble now. The first place they were going to was the clothing stores. Considering all the stores were designer brands, he had no personal preference as to which shop to go to, so he lead her to the first clothing store he saw.
"I believe we can start with the basics for your everyday wear." he stated. "Choose what you would like, I will wait for you here." While he understood the importance of purchasing the items that Rowena would need, that did not mean he was a fan of shopping. He would rather leave the task to her in selecting her outfits and he'd simply pay for everything in the end. He figured she would be able to choose for herself without little to no input from him.
Color Me Fubar Yup, decided to move this over to the Shopping Center. Sorry it's a little short but I wanted to post before I went to bed since I might be busy tomorrow.

x x x"To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable..." x x x Part of her was shocked he was going through with it and not changing his mind. If she was buying her, she would have. But she stayed quiet and kept her head down, hating having people look at her and wonder why someone was buying the human. Of course she had no idea of the danger she was being put in just by being his 'pet'. Having her collar removed already had an effect on her, as she brightened up and ran her fingers over her throat, a small smile appearing on her lips. It made her feel a bit more like a person and less like a tagged item at a store for someone to check the price on. Letting out a breath, she easily kept pace with him as he walked to the shopping center. She had no idea where to go either and the sight of the designer brands, when she was used to shopping at thrift stores, made her eyes go wide in shock. Clearly she had no personal preference either - it was all completely overwhelming and Rowena obediently followed him into the store simply because she didn't know what else to even do.
Looking up at him, Rowena blinked when he told her to go choose what she wanted. She wasn't sure what surprised her more - the fact he told her to go do that, or the fact that he said he would wait there for her and was going to let her walk around on her own. Couldn't she escape? The thought briefly crossed her mind before reality set in. She was still in the middle of the building, surrounded by other owners and their slaves - and she had a feeling he wasn't so easily escaped from. It was intuition talking and the young woman slowly nodded, taking a moment to absorb his words before reacting. "A-all right. I'll try to be fast," she murmured, clearly unsure of herself as she looked around and then hesitantly walked towards the women's section of the store.
It was intimidating for her and she almost jumped out of her skin when a saleswoman approached her, all smiled with gold jewelry making soft jingling noises as she moved her hands. "Is there anything I can help you with, ma'am?" she asked cheerfully. Rowena stammered for a moment before slowly nodded, tucking some hair behind her ear. "Oh! Y-yes, please. I, um...I need an entire wardrobe," she admitted, blushing a bit. "Underwear and everything," she added shyly. The woman regarded her for a moment before her expression changed, as if remembering something. "Oh! Are you a slave?" she asked curiously. It was odd that there was no condemnation in her voice at all and when the girl nodded, the saleswoman took her by the arm and began to lead her towards the lingerie section. "Let's get you started with the basics and work up from that," she said encouragingly, knowing she was going to make a huge commission of something like this. Rowena simply went along, naysaying some things and mostly letting the woman suggest what she needed.

It was not long after Rowena had left his side that a sales woman took her place. "Did you need anything sir?" the woman asked him. Balthazar's nose wrinkled in distaste, the woman's perfume was overwhelming to his senses. She eyed him like he was a ticket to a heavy commission and her over the top cheerfulness grated his nerves.
"Not at the moment no." Even with his refusal the woman still circled around him like a hawk. It was getting bothersome. He keow he told Rowena that he would wait for her near the exit but a little wandering would help him look less like a target to these sales women. With that thought in mind, Balthazar went to do a little browsing himself. Nothing in the store had caught his interest and even when something did, he didn't dawdle so the sales women wouldn't have the time to trap him again. It was as he was walking towards the back of the store he realized he was close to venturing towards the women's lingerie section, a place he had no business being in at the moment.
He instead made a detour towards a jewelry station where an old gentleman was selling watches. "How can I be of help sir?" the old man greeted him. Unlike the sales woman before, he wasn't pushy and Balthazar was not breathing in heavily scented floral perfumes. "Pocket watches, if you have any." They were a bit old fashioned but he still preferred them over wrist watches. As the times changed, so did he to some extent. Balthazar enjoyed some of the luxuries of the modern age such as cell phones, laptops and other electronic devices, but certain items brought back a nostalgic sense to his childhood.
The old man had done as Balthazar had requested. It was a small collection, as he had expected, but they were antiques watches. One in particular drew his attention. Picking up the watch, he examined it further.
"A very good selection sir, that is a rare Swiss invar minute repeating clockwatch. It is made of 18k pink gold," the old man had inform him. The watch was in excellent condition considering it's age. Taking out his wallet, Balthazar handed the man one of his many credit cards. "I'll take it."
"Would you like me to wrap that up for you sir?"
"That won't be necessary," he said as he pocketed his new watch. "Thank you." With his purchase in hand, Balthazar headed back to his original spot. Hopefully Rowena was almost done and they could leave this store.
