When a princess with her own potent power and protectors thinks her past love is gone forever, she decides to wander the stars until an unusual burst of magical power at the edges of her senses alerts her on a previously unknown planet to something she thought long lost.

Shiryō Kazama shifted his weight sharply, narrowly evading the massive serrated zanbatou weilded by the navy skinned man. Rumor had it that the wanted rogue Regai had dyed his skin deliberately, but at the moment Shiryō had more important things on his mind, such as survival; in many ways, such as combat, the planet of Naeóshi was somewhat archaic compared to some such as Earth, Kinmoku, or Solaria. The katana Shiryō held was of a denser and stronger metal even though the metal of the zanbatou could channel powerful elemental energies through itself. "You will just be another nameless fool who thought himself better than the Black Maelstrom, Regai Bakasaru!!" the rogue declared as he shifted the blade suddenly, disarming Shiryō with a sound like a metallic whipcrack. Shiryō stumbled back, shaking his numbed hand as the katana struck the rocky soil and stuck, shuddering several feet behind him. "I won't let you past me, even if it costs me my life," he said in a determined voice as Regai snorted a low sneering laugh as he shifted the blade and swung it hard downward. To his shock, as well as Shiryō's, a mark ignited, glowing a brilliant bluish silver on the back of his forearm just above his wrist. It cast such a powerful and intense aura that the blade shuddered as if frozen in mid air an inch or two above his raised forearm before being forcefully rejected with more than enough force to send the rogue swordsman staggering backwards. The blond girl with violet-blue eyes holding a small dagger as well as the neon pink haired girl gasped in shock as the aura momentarily faded before flaring brighter and much larger, the glow fading into space high above their heads; the people of their world had in no way gotten close to space, as the most advanced technology they had was gliders that used the air currents to move.

Susan sat in her study looking over various reports and complaints. The pile on her desk had to be at least a foot tall, and it was only a small part of the load. She put down the current report she was reading and heaved a sigh, her head falling onto the desk in front of her with a loud thunk. The hidden door by her bookcase opened and one of the many maids walked in. The maid paused by the desk and looked at Susan, clearing her throat gently before speaking. "Princess, your father wants a word with you in the throne room" the maid said gently as she moved to pick up a few papers that had fallen onto the floor. Susan slowly rose and smiled gently at the girl, she couldn't have been much older than Susan herself. "Thank you Felicia. Do you mind cleaning this for me?" she asked softly. Felicia nodded, wishing to please the princess. That was the thing, Susan thought as she glided through the hallways of the palace at a gentle pace, everyone in the kingdom had heard of the princess. How she is kind, and gentle with her subordinates and those that come with complaints. Yet they all knew that she could dish out as severe a punishment as beheading and not even flinch. That she could charge into battle with the soldiers and slay more by her hand than ten soldiers together. They said she was really sent by the gods, a demi-goddess here to protect them. It was all rubbish as far a she was concerned. So what if she was faster, stronger, and more beautiful than the average woman. Maybe the deciding factor was how she could do things that others couldn't. That she could lift a cart of a man without touching it. That she could will an arrow to land dead center and it would. Not for the first time she looked up at the sky and stared at the large glow in the sky. It had only been there a day now but she felt so entranced by it, she felt that it would reconnect her to someone important. She sighed and turned back to the heavy doors in front of her. Pushing the open she strode into the room and inclined her head slightly to her father and glanced over the other occupants of the room. A collection of the best warriors in the kingdom, a scribe to record the conversation, and her brother. She moved to stand at her fathers right hand as he addressed the soldiers. "We will be sending you on a special mission to investigate the glow in the sky." Susan's eyes widened. "I will go with you." she said confidently as she stepped forward. She looked her father in the eyes and dared him to defy her. He let out a suffering sigh and nodded. "Ready yourselves, we leave immediately. Be in the court yard in exactly an hour or we leave without you." She commanded as she swept out of the room. She felt dizzy with joy. She would finally get to see what was on the other side of that glow. A smile split her face and those around her swooned as she skipped through the hallways to her room where she dressed herself in trousers that sat low on her hips. a belt holding her sword to her hip. She placed a long sleeved, button up shirt on and then put a vest over that. Her bow was slung onto her back along with her quiver. She pulled on a hat and tied her hair back at the nape of her neck. Once she was sure all her other hidden weapons were secure she climbed up to her window and jumped. Flying through the air and landing calmly in the courtyard below. She looked around the group of soldiers and did a quick head count. Everyone was there. She nodded and held out her hands, the soldiers on either side of her took them gently, reverently and she rolled her eyes. "Hold on like you mean it else you'll end up somewhere in space that wouldn't be pleasant" she said as she gripped their hands tighter. The rest of the group joined hands as well and she closed her eyes. Focusing on the glow she soon felt the sensation of being squeezed through a tube before there was solid ground under their feet again. She opened her eyes and swooned mildly. She had never moved that many people before. Luckily one of the soldiers helped her remain on her feet and she nodded gratefully. Looking around she tried to figure out where they could be.

Shiryō Kazama was shuddering and unconscious, the mark still glowing on his forearm. He had passed out not long after the mark showed itself, though the girls with him had fortunately managed, along with his sensei, to run off the rogue swordsman. His eyelids fluttered as the blond girl gently laid a damp cloth across his forehead before his eyes slowly opened. His sheathed katana wasn't far from him and rested just behind the blond, Naru, against the wall. Unknown to them all, Shiryō's inner strength and power had increased exponentially, roughly four to five times what it had been. "I feel like Lee kicked me in the head a dozen times," he groaned as Sakura gently held his shoulders down when he tried to rise. "You're still recovering, as is Sensei... don't move too much," Sakura said with a sigh.

Susan continued to lean against the solider that caught her as she looked up at the glow. IT was even brighter over a certain rock face. She looked at the glow and felt a strong pull in her gut. "That way." she nodded towards the rock face and started walking slowly. The soldiers hovered around her carefully, making sure she didn't fall again. When she felt much stronger she turned and glared at them. "What are you all doing? Draw your weapons, we don't know what threats we may encounter." she snapped. She was rather grouchy from the exhaustion that had settled deep into her bones, and the anxious feeling that comes from being so far away from the rock face. The soldiers slowly crept up to the rock face and she sighed. So slow she thought before she took off, sprinting quickly towards the rock. The closer she got the lighter she felt and the quicker she ran. Eventually she stopped trying to consciously control herself and she just ran, following the pull in her gut. Eventually she reached to rock and headed straight for where she somehow knew the entrance was. She reached the entrance and froze at the sight that met her. She leaned against the wall of the entrance as memories that she had suppressed came rushing back to her. Days spent in the sun, nights under the willows, sneaking into and out of the castle, watching him fall in battle, sobbing over his body desperately. Susan's eyes widened and she slowly slid down the wall, a hand sliding over her mouth. "S-Shiryo." she gasped as tears silently streamed down her face.

Shiryō saw Naru spin, drawing a short throwing dagger and holding it in a reversed grip with a wary look at the entrance to the cavern they were in. "Who are you? Are you with Regai?" she said sharply, her tone wary and annoyed. Shiryō could see that Naru was fighting to stay on her feet and was mildly touched to see she'd stayed awake to watch over him though she looked exhausted. He moved suddenly, seemingly vanishing from sight as the edge of his hand swatted the back of Naru's neck, making her go limp as he knocked her out. "Damn it, Naru; your stubborness may end up killing you one day, lass," he sighed as he caught her and put her on the bed he'd just left, covering her up. He then turned to Susan, recognizing her vaguely but not recalling exactly why she was familiar. "Do I know you?" he said gently. He had no idea that the head of the medical corps of the village that Naru and Sakura were from had found him and healed him from extreme blood loss that had nearly killed him and as a result he had only vague memories of his past.

"Princess!" one of the faster soldiers called as he finally managed to get to the cave. He came up and slowly helped Susan up. Susan looked on at Shiryo in wonder before looking down and wiping her tears away. She nodded to the soldier and he slowly let go of her to allow her to stand on her own feet. She mentally threw up a protective barrier around her emotions and shrugged. "You may. I am Princess Susan Nelson from a kingdom on a planet far away from here." she said as she looked around the small cave. She looked at the mild confusion on Shiryo's face and felt her heart break all over again at how he doesn't remember her. She spun on her heel and headed to the mouth of the cave. The rest of the soldiers arrived and one recognized Shiryo. He was about to say something to Susan but another of the soldiers simply shook his head and he quickly shut his mouth. "I apologize for barging in. I must have had the wrong place. Come men, we have investigated enough. We will go back home now." she said. A heartbroken tone to her voice.

Shiryō frowned; he recognized her and was determined to know why. "Wait... I recognize you... but I don't know for sure why.... there's something...." he said quickly, wincing as he felt his head throbbing. "You have to be careful, a rogue swordman is in the area and may try to attack or kidnap you," he said cautiously. He half turned towards Sakura, wobbling slightly on his feet though he winced as he felt heat surge through him as the mark reappeared, glowing a prismatic color before it flashed, engulfing him in the same aura which almost immediately became semi-transparent and allowing only his outline to show. It shattered to reveal an unusual armor in shades of silver, amber, and gray that had no helmet though there was facial armor that covered his mouth and nose as well as the sides and front of his throat.

Susan froze as she felt the energy pulse out from the mark on his arm. In an instant she was by his side staring at the mark that was visible even with the armor. She placed a hand on it and she felt an immediate drain on her energy as the mark absorbed it and the armor slowly disappeared. She swayed on her feet as her energy levels continued to drop as the mark absorbed it to refuel Shiryo's energy. Finally one of the soldiers, Jacob, came and yanked her arm off the mark. Susan fell into Jacob's arms, and he slowly lowered her to sit on the ground. "I remember," she panted as she looked up at Shiryo. "making that mark for you." she said tiredly as s smile flitted aside. They had argued over the mark for such a long time that finally she had just knocked him out and tied him down so she could make it. She laughed softly.

Shiryō was breathing hard as he looked at the mark, which faded to a deep indigo color. There was something nudging at the edges of his memories, but he couldn't grasp it to save his life. "I can't shake the sense that there's something.... missing," he said softly, uncertainty and fear in his voice. He didn't mind Sakura and Naru so much... but he knew deep down their village wasn't where he belonged. He shifted to sit on the ground and concentrated as he felt his energy reserves filling much faster than they would have normally. It was then that he heard a soft hiss before a thump sounded before a grunted groan followed. His eyes snapped open, flashing to the door as he frowned, rising fluidly into a crouching position. Sakura went to grab his shoulder, but failed as he shot out of the door and leaped over the banister beyond, springing off of the opposite wall and redirecting his momentum downward and to his left. He landed with a heavy crunch hard atop a smirking swordman bandit, rendering one arm useless as he twisted, kicking the guy into his comrade hard outside, both men tumbling almost into the pond that connected into the large river several hundred feet away and half finished bridge across it. "Attacking a single mother... that's just low, even for you morons," he growled as he flicked his thumb lightly and unsheathed an inch of shimmering steel. "Gōuka Tenshō!!" he snapped as he unsheathed and slashed at an upward diagonal angle in one fluid movement. The prismatic silver blast of energy slammed with a thunderous boom into both men and detonated in a blast of smoke and steam. He knew from the four or five foot distance they'd been... there would be little left. He sheathed the katana in a movement similar to Iadō, half turning back towards the house to see the golden orange hair of the mother in question; her name was Sōrai and she had a single son.

Sakura, meanwhile, was looking startled as she felt the house rattle from the explosion.
"What... what was that? There's something... different about Shiryō-kun," she said hesitantly.

Susan smiled softly as she rested her head in Jacob's lap, who simply combed his fingers through her hair gently. She felt so content just feeling the familiar hum of Shiryo's energy. She couldn't really move at this time, and she wasn't about to take energy from anyone around her because that would simply be detrimental. No she would sit still and wait here with Shiryo's friends for him to come back. AS she basked in his energy she heard a girls question. Turning her head to look at the girl she shrugged. "It's his energy recognizing the one that gave him the power in the first place." she answered before turning to look up at Jacob's face. He was her personal bodyguard when Shiryo had left and she had given him the same mark. "See there are downsides to the mark on his arm. If he isn't around the one with the original energy that went into the mark then it slowly gets weaker and takes more energy to use and sustain. Now that the original energy is around it is replenishing the mark and making it stronger. Isn't that right Jacob?" she asked with a tired smile. Jacob simply nodded and placed a gentle kiss to her forehead. There wasn't anything romantic about it, their relationship was more of a brother sister relationship that she was missing with her real brother. Jacob Smiled to her and Susan turned her head to look at the girl "Does that answer your question?"

Shiryō tilted his head as he shifted slightly before vanishing, materializing a few feet behind Jacob and Susan. He half turned and jerked the arrow out of the guard's shoulder. "Attention to your surroundings may save your life," he said quietly. The guard gulped before nodding; he would have a cut on his shoulder, but the armor the man had worn deflected most of the impact damage. He shrugged slightly before frowning as he noticed something on the arrowhead. He turned towards where Susan and Jacob was before he heard a thud as the guard collapsed. He sniffed slightly at the arrowhead, catching the strong scents of both blood and something he couldn't identify. "Tranqulizer," he muttered, his grip tightening on the arrow so that it snapped.

Susan looked over Jacobs head at Shiryo and smiled softly. "Shiryo, you can calm down. There are wards protecting this place." she said as she drew some energy from Jacob in order to place said wards. She watched the small drain on Jacob's face and gently cupped his cheek. "Sorry I should have warned you." she murmured. Jacob leaned into her touch and smiled. "It's fine" he muttered as he looked at Shiryo cautiously. Would you please take a seat here? You make me nervous back there" he muttered and Susan giggled.

Shiryō chuckled at Jacob's expression, shrugging his shoulders. He wasn't sure why it amused him, but it did. "What's wrong, worried I'll catch you off guard? That'd be Naru's job... she's dangerous when it comes to pranks," he said with amusement as he shifted around Susan and leaned against the wall.

Slowly, Susan managed to sit up and rest her head on Jacob's shoulder. She looked up at Shiryo and felt her heart sink again. He didn't remember her. She looked down at the floor of the cave and let her hair cover her face as she held back tears before raising her head, yet refusing to look at him. "In about an hour I will have enough energy to take us all back. We will be out of your hair by then." she muttered as Jacob started rubbing her back comfortingly.
