The morning came far too early as far as Aponi was concerned, the sun peaking through the trees and into her window far sooner than she would have liked. There was a cool breeze this morning and it only urged her to stay in bed, causing her to roll away from the sun and snuggle into her blankets and Maul’s fur. She gave a soft groan as she buried her face in the warmth.
Maul on the other hand had other ideas, it was time to get up, up he demanded. He began by slowly tugging on her hair, ‘cleaning’ it as he went. She gave a soft grumble before pushing gently on the rabbit to make him stop. Though he had seemingly no interest in stopping what he was doing moving to nearly smother her with his bulk.
She gave a soft snort before actually pushing the big buck off her bed rolling over to look at him on the floor. He seemed deeply displeased by the sudden plop onto the floor but otherwise unharmed. Though the look he was giving her was clearly one of agitation, she would be in trouble later she was sure.
Aponi gave a soft huff before pushing herself out of the bed, throwing her hair up into a ponytail and pulling on a pair of leather breeches and a top. Nothing too fancy as she was going into town today, one of the older ladies had requested a potion and it was finally finished so she was going to run it into town for the lady.
She grabbed her satchel, tucking the things she would need into it before tossing it over her shoulder and plucking up Maul to toss him over her other shoulder. The rabbit didn’t look too bothered by this however and seemed to just drape across her shoulder complacently.
“Mama! Da? I’m heading into town to take Mrs. Fiddle her order! I’ll be back this afternoon!” She called as she snatched a few biscuits off the table on her way out the door. She set out on her way, sharing her breakfast with her ever loyal companion.
It took her about an hour to get into town, reaching it about the time early morning foot traffic and businesses were starting to really get into motion. This didn’t bother her any of course; she seemed just as pipper as when she had left the house though Maul had fallen asleep on her shoulder during the walk. She was aware that Mrs. Fiddle wouldn’t be awake for another hour at least but that didn’t bother her any. She loved exploring the town any chance she got.
So with the time she had left she explored, finding all the little back allies and looking for all the little hidey holes. She had placed Maul on the ground by this point, letting him hop beside her as they went. He was the one that found the bookstore, going to the window to put his paws up on the large pane of glass, his eyes reflecting brightly in the polished surface.
“What have you found baby?” She asked prancing over to inspect herself. “A book store!” She exclaimed reaching down to stroke his ears for a moment. “Come on, I have some extra coin, maybe we can find a good book on herbs.” She commented moving to the door pulling it open to let Maul in first before following behind her.
The bookstore let in a lot of light but it was still dimmer than the outside and it took her a moment to grow accustomed to the change. It was cooler in here though this morning wasn’t a particularly hot one. She gave a soft sigh as she moved towards the shelves, already intent upon finding a hidden gem. Unmindful of just about everything else around her, trusting that Maul would alert her if something was amiss.
