Here is your guide to all things Adventures! Adventures are our way of helping you meet your RP requirements in a fun and interesting way as well as to flesh out our world just a little bit more. We realize that many people have road blocks when trying to come up with RP ideas so we hope you take advantage of these!
Adventures may be done alone or with a group and will always have a reward other than getting an RP done! Adventures are one of the ways you will be getting the ingredients for alchemy and item enchantment. They are also a fun way to have a dragon or creature battle as we do scatter them through out the adventures to include some danger and excitement!
Items can also be used in the adventures, and we recommend you visit Peddler's Rock often to see what items there are for you too use. Some Adventures will only be accessible if you have a map or specific item, some of which may be on sale in the shop!
Remember that each completed adventure will result in one complete RP Requirement for growth as long as you've written 500+ words, unless otherwise stated. Along with that, it can help you obtain items and other fun things to dress up your character's profile even more!
Now that that's said, below will be how to adventure, where to go when you have finished, and some rules on adventuring.

✦ rules and limits ✦
» rules Abide by all Gaia ToS and Magesc rules. Magesc's rules can be found here. Do NOT delete posts. That is cheating and will not be tolerated. You will get a warning if you're discovered to have deleted posts in your Adventure. After that, a second warning will be issued. If the problem persists, you will be banned from Adventures completely and no matter how many you complete, it will not count towards your Growth Requirements.
» limits There is a limit to how often you can do an adventure. Unless specified, this means you must wait 2 months before you are able to do the same adventure and get the items! Once the months have passed, you can do the adventure and get all the items again. We will be counting the months starting from when you posted in the Finished Adventures thread. xxxxxSome adventures will have a different wait time, it will be mentioned in the adventure if this is true. xxxxxShould you try to do the same adventure again before the wait time is up, the only items you can get are ones you failed to find earlier. The animals will still be there; think of them as re-spawning once you leave.
Make sure you meet all the requirements to do an adventure! Some are restricted to certain races or paths. If the adventure says Dovaa only, than only pure Dovaa may attempt it, unless it states Dovaa Hybrids are allowed. If the adventure is restricted by path, then only one on that path may attempt the adventure.
Some adventures will require you to have an item to do the adventure. This is often a map or rune, and you must have at least 1 per group in order to attempt the adventure! Should the group split up, then each smaller group will need that item or you will get lost and will be required to quit the adventure.

✦ etiquette ✦
» playing nice These adventures may be done with others, as such you need to be aware that there may be conflicts. Please do not deliberately antagonize others or take out your RL frustrations through your character.
If someone is being rude and mean and you find it offensive, please realize that it could just be their character and not them. PM them first and ask if they could tone it down some and find out if that is their character's rudeness or theirs that they are posting. If they continue to offend you with their posts but let you know that it is how their character would react in the situation, then it may be best for your character to find a way to leave the adventuring party. Try to do so in a way that doesn't leave the group in a lurch! Finding a replacement to take your spot is the best way out. We would prefer that you stuck it out to the end but we do understand if you need to leave the adventure.
For those of you who have a character that is mean and rude, please let your adventuring party know before hand so that they know it is the character and not you offending them! Also, try to tone it down so its not too offensive, we want these adventures to be fun, not a source of drama. We do realize that some people may like a little drama and fighting in their RP's, and that is fine, but let others know what may happen so they know beforehand what they are getting into!
If one player is god-modding or making other people's characters do stuff in their RP, I suggest you try to pm the person and ask them to stop or pm a staff member about the problem and let us deal with any drama. Do not take any possible drama to the main thread, keep it in PM's please.
Please be aware that there needs to be a post order and do not post outside of the order unless you think the other person has abandoned you, in which case you need to read the replacements section below. The post order is a nice way to make sure everyone gets a chance to explore the room and chat. Feel free to stay in one room for a while and RP, you do not need to speed through an adventure; as a matter of fact, we'd prefer it if you had fun and took your time since we spent a lot of time making these for you to play in.
Each group should have a leader. This person will be responsible for moving the group along and reminding people that you have an adventure going on. It is not a requirement, but a suggestion. He or she would decide the posting order and if there is a tie of which path to take and you don't wish to split up, then the leader's choice should be taken. If the majority wants to go a different path than the leader, then the group should go with the majority's decision.
» replacements If for some reason someone stops posting and the do not respond to any of your quotes in the main thread or pm's, please pm a staffer to let them know the situation, and then continue the adventure.
There are two ways you may go about this. You may act like the other character is still there, but they will do nothing other than give you their LUK boost. Perhaps you can pretend that they are sleepy and can barely keep up with the group. Then you can RP that they need to be baby sat and can use it as an RP tool. However you wish to go about keeping the character in the group you may so the RP can go on. You may all refer to the character, but no responses will be given. Even though the character is technically there, since the owner of the character isn't, this character simply becomes a "shade" of his/her former self.
The other way is to ask if someone wishes to take their place and have the other be left behind somehow. This option is only available if you are out in the open world of Magesc where someone could easily join up in the group. If you are in a dungeon or cave, then this option can not be used.
» the price of abandonment Should you be the one to leave a party and you do not take the quit option that adventures have, then there is a price to pay. We do not want people dropping out of adventures, if you don't think you have the time to do a group adventure, then it may be best that you stick with solo's or very small groups until you feel that you are ready and have time for a long adventure with a large group.
From the point that you stop posting, you will get no items or exp, and you will not be able to do this specific adventure for an extra 2 months on top of the usual waiting time. If you must abandon an adventure, please at least contact your group and a staff member to let them know! That way no one will hold a grudge because you just vanished.
You will receive all the items and exp that you have already gotten, but only if you post in the Finished Adventure thread. We will not be going through and giving out any rewards until you post there. We are willing to give them to you if you come back in less than a year. If you come back after a year's hiatus then for all adventures you abandoned before your hiatus and didn't post claiming your rewards, you will not receive anything.

✦ how to guide ✦
» starting To start you should first find an adventure you want to do. If it requires a group then post in the main thread stating you are looking for a group or PM the people you wish to adventure with. If you can't find enough people, then wait a while before asking again or try for another adventure. Only special adventures (which will always be able to be done in a small group or solo) will be open for a limited time so for all the rest you will not have to worry about that adventure going away or having a time limit.
Once you have found your group or are soloing the adventure, then post an introduction post like you would in a Battle. It should include your stats, name, stage, inventory and a picture if you want. Feel free to go all out for this post, it is your calling card in this adventure!
Each adventure will have a starting prompt, make sure you read that first! It should give you hint on how to start your RP and where the adventure is! Each person's introduction post should include how they came to be in the adventuring party!
Also make sure that you title the adventure's thread like this:
[ongoing] Cooking with a Witch [ Kadryn || Grrel ]
The term [ongoing] is to let people know that it is active. It will need to be changed to [finished] once you are done. The "Cooking with a Witch" is the Adventure title. And the last part is the names of all the characters doing the adventure. If there are too many, then just put [Kadryn + Party] Where Kadryn would be the leader of the group.
You will need to pick one person in a group to be the leader. This should be the person who formed the group in the first place. This will be the character who starts the adventure and should be the tie breaker if everyone can not decide which path to go. Please look at the etiquette post for more information on this.
» during the adventure Each adventure will have prompts that need responding to and dice that may need to be rolled. When you first go into a room, make sure you read all of it and see if there needs to be any dice rolled or other actions that can be done. Let everyone read it and then have the person whose turn it is to post go. Roll any dice first and post the below form in your post. Once you do this, then see what you rolled and then fill in your RP including the consequence of any dice rolled.
A post order is needed. Make sure you always post in that order so it doesn't get too complicated. Keep track of when it is your turn to post, you should quote the person after you in the main thread and tell them you have finished posting and it is their turn. Feel free to take your time in each room, once you start an adventure there is no time limit on when you finish it! You only need to post the form below once! When you first enter the room. After that
Post Styles:
First time entering a room:
Title of the prompt you are doing Prompt itself
RP response here
Option A Option B Option C
Example
Title of the prompt you are doing Prompt words....
RP response here. Also make sure to roll any dice you need. If your die roll sends you somewhere else, please ignore all other options and merely finish your response up to the dice event and then put below in your options the path that you have been sent down.
[[ These are the options I can choose once I am done with this prompt. Please bold the option you are choosing like shown below. ]] Options A Option B Option C
RP goes here. Once you are ready to move on at the end you post:
Going to XX This bit is only posted once you are RP-ing leaving the room.
When you enter the same room again, you will need to re-roll all the dice unless it says otherwise. Otherwise, you do not have to react to anything in the room unless you notice something new or the dice cause something to happen. You can do a quick RP post when re-entering a room, perhaps just one or two lines saying you re-enter and decide to go to X room this time, perhaps mumbling under your breath about mazes and dust. Then it goes to the next person and so on until it is your turn again. Then you post your entering of the next room.
On page 2 there is a completed small adventure that will show you how we wish Adventures to be done. If you have a problem with it or any ideas to make it better, please PM the Mule to let us know! Feedback is always appreciated.
» finishing Once you are done with the adventure, you may RP the group splitting up and heading home or you may stick around and have your characters RP a small celebration or something. The end of the adventure does not mean you need to stop RP-ing! But once the adventure is done, each person will need to post in the Finished Adventures thread and claim all their items and exp gained. If they have gained enough exp to go up a level, then post in the Statistics thread. For more information on finishing go to the Finished Adventures thread.

✦ rating system ✦
The ratings are just a fun way to warn you of what you may be getting into. The lower the ratings, the less prompts there will be and less rooms to explore. So if you want something you can do in under a week, try to not go higher than 3 kitties.
Ratings will be done in pirate kitties:
1 pirate kitty means it will be easy and a very quick adventure and you should be done rather quickly. However since it is so easy the rewards won't be as good.
5 pirate kitties means this adventure is hard! It will probably take 1000+ words and several weeks to finish, though it could be longer or shorter depending on how fast or slow you go. The rewards are worth it though! They will often have hidden treasures not mentioned in the reward so keep an eye out!

✦ the shop ✦
» peddler's rock Our resident shop! Here you can get all things that involve ingredients, items, weapons, potions, and dragon orbs. But they must be bought with Gaia gold and there is only a limited amount of each item. Arick Skyeforge is the NPC shop owner, and he stocks all his supplies every few months by going out and collecting them from the wilds, at this time we will restock the store. Click here to be taken to the shop!
» items There are items that can be used in an adventure or RP that is nothing other than a tool for spicing up your adventure, like our non-battle tomes, which contain spells for use outside of battle. We also have items that give you a bonus to your die rolls for certain actions like climbing or searching. These are really for adventures only but may be used in other RP's if you wish. We also have ingredients, these will be used for crafting your own enchantments and potions.
