So I've been watching Doctor Who, browsing Tumblr, and lurking this guild. It's just so nice to yadder on incessantly about classic Doctor Who with people who are also incessantly yaddering. Right now I'm watching Enlightenment, also known as the one where Teegan gets an immortal creeper. He's seriously getting all Edward Cullen at her, only Teegan reacts to this like a normal person.
What have you been doing while you lurk?

I've recently been pulled into Doctor Who because I'm too lazy to steer Netflix to something else.
I cheat on Gaia while I lurk.

I play many games to the point it's unhealthy, and I forget about Gaia so when I get back I make sure I always make a topic to remember to check up on later or some such thing.
Browse cracked... watch Todd and the Book of Pure Evil on repeat because I am obsessed, and I have heard many a good thing of the doctor. I gotta say the amount of shows I need to watch are almost as overwhelming as the amount of games I want to play. So much want. Feels bad man.

If anyone wants to start watching classic Who, I have links to a place to stream all the classic episodes and some excellent reconstructions. And of course, I can recommend serials to start with.
Wow, I don't sound like a drug dealer at all..؟

@Kitty: I'm on the last season with David Tennant. ... And yeah, I've been cheating on Gaia with another avatar site. Dunno if I like it or not yet. The forum rules are so soft yet the posters can be so crunchy! Also been spending a lot of time on hulu and baka-tsuki, between the two of them there's a lot of anime and light novels to attack. *waiting for the new -monogatari novels to get translated*

Or if watching 155 serials (all of which have at least three episodes) in order sounds intimidating, there's other places you can jump in without missing too much. Tell me what you like about the Doctor Who you've seen, and I can recommend other Doctors and adventures you might like. This of course applies to everyone reading this.

I think its my favorite season since 2005. Or are you counting the adventures he had on his own (the movies) as a season? ...I suspect it's because Donna had no interest in the Doctor's trousers.

No companions has been my favorite thing ever, I'm sucker for fun side characters like "the Doctor" from the Christmas special with his awesome hot air balloon TARDIS. Donna could be pretty fun too though, I agree with your tiny statement about her. During the seasons with Rose and Martha I joked to my sister that if you took a shot everytime someone said "doctor!" you'd die of alcohol poisoning halfway through an episode. rofl

(Of course, fans will read subtext into nearly any relationship. I include myself in that statement.) So if you want to watch a show where the main character isn't constantly being chased by swooning women, classic Who is where it's at. Should I be making a list of classic companions who compete with Donna's sass to recommend to you? When you're done with what you're watching now, of course.

I've watched most ep from the ninth doctor till the elventh, so the modern ones. I can't remember the titles of the episodes i like but here are some: Blink, The Almost Human and the ones where the doctor visits Van Gough, Shakepare and Agatha i love those ones b/c it was interesting to how the doctor would interact with these famous people and the mysterious aliens that were involved in their lives . whee What would you recommend?

Yes, An Unearthly Child is the very first serial of Doctor Who. I really like the historical adventures, too. They are some of my favorite stories. In the beginning, the stories alternated between stories with a science fiction focus and stories with a historical focus, so there's a lot of that in the first Doctor era. Of course, in those days if they went back in time, they rarely met any aliens; besides the Doctor himself, of course. Although the first mixture of sci-fi and history was in "The Time Meddler", where we first meet another Timelord (although they weren't called that yet), they didn't start really mixing aliens and history until "Evil of the Daleks", where Daleks were holding a Victorian scientist and his daughter captive. It's also a good one because it's that time the Doctor taught the Daleks to love. So silly. So burninated. But! There's some jolly good reconstructions on the internet. In the later seasons they almost never went back in time without finding an alien. Three never really played in history at all (he sort of almost did in The Time Warrior), but not really. Four did it about once or twice a season, and there were always aliens then. Five did it three times, six once and seven five. Are you following me, because I'm not sure I am. cat_neutral
