Provided below is the application for joining Kumogakure as a higher rank shinobi. We'll be looking forward to seeing all your applications, just keep some things in mind. Being the best shinobi isn't necessary, but you should always go above and beyond the call of Duty to satisfy and impress your superiors. Keep that in mind throughout the application process. Your Raikage is the ultimate decider, so do your best to impress, and welcome to the land of Lightning!

What Rank are you applying for?: Chuunin/Jounin
What do you believe personally is the role of a Shinobi of your desired Rank? They are meant to be elite shinobi of their village that can teach strong leaders of the future. They spend most of their time training young Genin and themselves so they can defend their villages at any time and anywhere.

RP Sample: (My character's name will be Raido. Just made it up for the sample)

Raido walked along the gates of Kumogakure along with his team. Upon exiting, he stopped and turned around and looked onto his teammates. Laying out a map on the ground and began to speak. "Alright. This is a retrieval mission, even though its a scroll, the enemy territory will try to make sure we don't get it." He pointed at the map explaining the plan. "We have a sensor, tracker, brawler, and me. So here is how it will be set up. We will going in a single filed line with the me leading, the tracker behind to catch the scent or hidden danger spots and guard my blind spots. Following up with the brawler to attack all ranges of me, tracker, himself and the sensor. And finally will be the sensor. With you abilities you can detect chakra from different ranges and warn us ahead of time in case of danger." Raido stood up picking up the map. "This mission should take us about a day if it all goes smoothly but like i said before, there will be shinobi that would want to stop us from reaching our destination." His teammates nodded in agreement and got in their lines as told. Raido lifted his hand into the air as he turned around. "Let's go!" By throwing his hand down, all 4 squad members darted out of the village into the wilderness ready to achieve the mission assigned to them.

What Rank are you applying for?:
Jounin - Haven't made a character yet, but I will soon
What do you believe personally is the role of a Shinobi of your desired Rank?
Jounin are one of the elite in the village, they are role models and people to look up to, they offer help to any shinobi who needs it and can take on many roles in a village. Be it a team leader, ANBU, protector of the Kage, or merely teaching at the academy, the Jounin is someone that works hard to keep the peace in and outside the village they vowed to protect from day one at the Academy.
RP Sample:
{From another Naruto Guild I'm in. Enjoy the story~}

Kazuhiko stood there silently, taking everything in. Yumi's eyes were sorrowful, yet all Kazu could see was coldness. He allowed the guy to speak, but rejected the hand that tried to touch his face. His hand pushed Yumi's hand away gently, then he took a step back and lowered his head once again as silence followed. He knew what was coming, felt like deja vu for some reason. His soul darkened as he rose his head, making eye contact with the man that would surely be the end of him. He listened, the darkness around him growing with remarkable speed. He held onto the bottle of sake and just stood there, listening to every word the man said. He understood people were tied to Kleine like leeches, he had many family members. He cursed the name he was born with once again, cursed it until his mind had said it enough to make it seem like some kind of unlawful sin that would probably kill him in the end. Kazu hated being so strong, hated making dreams and having them destroyed before his eyes. Hated feeling something and having it ripped apart piece by piece. Was this why he was born? Was this the world that his mother and father wanted him to live in, to try and prosper in? Was this why.. His sister tried to hard to make him talk to people? To make friends? Why did he bother talking to people in the first place? It's gotten him no where! Kazu hated family, hated it with a passion. Where the f*ck was his family when he needed them? No where, there were out doing their own thing. Not only that, but he couldn't even sense where his own parents were at this point in time. There was a long pause, it made Kazu break eye contact and make a smile that had no emotion behind it. Yet, the emotion was in his eyes. The darkest loneliness he ever had was deep within his eyes, like a dark hole buried to the core of the Earth and he was in the very center willingly. He gave up his existence to jump. He gave into his darkness. Gave into it for the first time in.. A very very long time. He swore that there was more to hope for, his mother told him when he was young that at the end of every dark tunnel, there was light. Yet, where was his light now? It vanished, nonexistent. "Heh.. F*ck you Kleine.." He mumbled to himself, remembering something that was funny to him. He hated that man, with a passion that was probably not natural for someone his age. He didn't want to be here anymore, he wanted to leave this village, this area, leave the sight of this man that was so gently trying to turn him down. Why wouldn't the guy just turn him down straight up? Instead of beating around the bush like he was? God..Damnit.. He reached up and touched his chest with his right hand, where his heart was. He commanded his head to lock everything up in the deepest chamber possible and to never show it's ugly f*cking face again, if he could live without a heart, oh.. He would, he would love to. He then commanded his mind to never think of anything to deal with sentimental feelings again, he didn't want to think of love or life or anything to do with it. One of the reasons he hated having emotions, though he never showed it, was because he wanted to forget Yumi. Forget his face, his eyes, his voice, forget the way the man was looking up at him with such a pitiful look, feeling bad for Kazu and having to reject him like this. His life.. Would be so much happier without these unnecessary feelings. His eyes that once held emotion seemed to ice over, the tears ceased, and his eyes went cold. After the last sentence Yumi spewed out and ended, Kazu held up the sake bottle to Yumi with a stoic face. "Cheers" He said, his voice bitterly cold. He downed the bottle, going from half full, to nothing but glass. He then pressed his right hand on the bottom of the bottle, then brought his left hand up and made an impact of force as he crushed and smashed the bottle to nothing but glass shards in his hands. His hands bled, but he just closed his fists and returned his hands to his sides, then opened them, the glass falling slowly to the ground. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion, his whole life was going by at one millisecond at a time. Slower than he would've liked. Fine, at least he said something right? At least Yumi was half honest, that was the most he could expect out of a guy that felt nothing for Kaz. God.. Deja vu.. He hated it. Why was he so weak hearted? Kazu couldn't understand it at all, his eyes were closed and his head was down as he took a moment to pause, hearing his own blood dropping to the ground. Ya, he would probably regret the scars they would cause, but he felt no pain. He was numb with mental and emotional pain, so physical pain only reminded him that he was actually still alive. He took in a deep breath and looked up, releasing it. Kazu's pupils were slit, but that was the only thing that changed physically about him. Yumi was trying to say nice things to him now.. How.. F*cking.. Sweet of him, huh? No, he didn't need anything more from Yumi. If anything, Kazu looked at the guy in front of him in a new light. "Well.." He stepped away from Yumi a bit more, putting at least five inches in between them. He then realized that he couldn't leave the village just yet, he had unfinished business with another certain Sannin. He looked at Yumi and tilted his head, then his lips laced into a gentle smile. Yet, his mouth looked different. It seemed to be split at the sides of his lips, giving his lips a wider look. It was a false happiness, if not something that was forced upon him, making him feel like his insides were being torn out and ripped from his very body by the devil himself. It caused him mental pain, smiling like this, but he had to say something, didn't he? After all, the man in front of him pitied the love-struck Chuunin standing there five feet away, bleeding and mortified by his own emotions. Any sign of life besides a heart beating and him breathing was nonexistent, no light in his eyes or anything as Kazu took on a completely different appearance. He parted his lips, confirming that there was indeed something different about his mouth. "Nah, don't bother. I don't need anything more from you. I got my answer so.. There's really nothing more I need. I wish to resign from your squad, I do not believe that I can look upon you any longer" He looked away from Yumi, his black hair covering his eyes as he hypothetically shunned the man from his sight. He wasn't going to give Yumi a chance to speak, it was his turn. "I have unfinished business in this village, but believe me, what happened here, will not be repeated, nor will it affect my job as a Shinobi. I will respect you as an elder and nothing more, so I will keep the connection with you strictly business." He kept his eyes closed as his head turned and pointed in Yumi's general direction, he smiled once again. He showed his teeth, all of them were sharp, which was strange. Unshed tears streamed down the side of his face, but they weren't of sadness. They were just emotions and memories being cast aside from his body, unwanted and despised by ever fiber of his being. He wasn't smiling to reassure Yumi that he was going to be okay, because he wasn't, he was merely smiling in an attempt to save the last of his sanity. Yet, the smile he gave in Yumi's direction was very bright and held so much sadness, the last of his happiness being wrung out. "I hope you find happiness Captain, regardless of what just went down.. Just forget everything that happened, it's just f*cking stupid a** sh*t that is unnecessary and means nothing to anyone anyways, so.. It's best to just forget it happened, that won't be a problem for you.. Will it Captain?" He gave the guy a peace sign, with blood running down his hand and arm, onto the floor. Not the most graceful or attractive peace sign, but it was one nonetheless. "Thanks though, for making me recognize the difference between you and Kleine. Peace out." He chuckled softly walked towards the door he came in, opening it and leaving blood traces on the floor and doorknob as he walked out, shutting the door behind him. His footsteps echoing as he distanced himself and left the tavern. He was just turned down by love, it was pointless to try again. Nothing would make anything better now, was he acting like a spoiled little b*tch? Perhaps, but he didn't care. He would show the world that he was capable of not loving anything or anyone, everyone would pay for his pain and sorrow. They would feel what he felt right now, but much worse. He would make them all suffer and feel the pain of having love torn from them all.. One day..

If you are applying for Jounin, can you be active enough to benefit your squad?
I'm on every single day
If you are applying for Jounin, how will you get the best from your squad and how will you train them?

Each shinobi has their advantages and disadvantages, not only will I be working to improve their advantages, but with their disadvantages, there is always a way around to make up for their lack of something. Be it speed or strength, those can all be worked around. So I focus mostly on the weakness of the shinobi and turn it into a balances strength.

Hey, I really like your rp sample, but unfortunately it kind of defeats the purpose of what I'm asking here. For the sample we'd prefer to see if you can make something 700 (or more) words straight for one post, not a conversation. So while it is apparent you'll be good at keeping up with things and be pretty consistent, I'd like to see if you can make lengthy, descriptive posts.

Go ahead and give it another go with a single long post this time. Thanks for your interest!

Alrighty, well, I used the basis of Kazuhiko's heart break and spiced up his revenge. It's mostly his thoughts in this post, but, edited.

What Rank are you applying for?: Jounin
What do you believe personally is the role of a Shinobi of your desired Rank? As a Jounin, I am among the best the village has to offer. As such, not only am I among the elite to defend against the village's enemies, but I must teach the next generation of ninjas how to survive in the cruel Shinobi world. As a Jounin, I must lay my life down for the sake of my students, and if I die in combat, I die knowing they are safe.

RP Sample:
Chuunin = Minimum of 400 words
Jounin = Minimum of 700 words

The sun was setting over the horizon, bathing the sky in a reddish glow. Raitora were just now coming back from a lengthy mission from the Snow Country, a supposedly routine recon mission to observe the new village that was slowly rivaling the power of the other Five Shinobi Nations. The Raikage seemed tense about how long it would take before they would pose a serious threat to her village. Expecting a high level of danger, instead of sending a squad of Genin, she sent only one Jounin: that Jounin was Raitora, Kumogakure's Mountain Gale. He was enough to complete this mission.

"This intel is important to the Raikage, I cannot fail her in delivering what I saw. It could mean the potential security of my village's future," Raitora muttered to himself as he bounded around snow covered trees like an antelope. Fast as the wind, never skipping a step, the experienced, but young Jounin made his way through until he had a sinking feeling in his stomach. He knew that feeling, it was an omen to him that he wasn't alone. He immediately stopped, his boots crunching in the newly fallen snow as he slowly pulled out a kunai and looked around him. It seemed clear, but assumptions get you killed. And these Yukigakure Shinobi are lethal in their own environment. A footstep sinking in the snow confirmed his suspicions, they have found him and were closing in for the kill.

"This will not be the day that Kumogakure's Mountain Gale falls in battle," he said to himself, a smile now painted on his face. He let loose the Kunai in his hand at the direction he assumed the next footstep came from and was satisfied when he heard a squelch, followed by a thud. He had already killed one of their group, and he didn't even get to see his face, "Come on Yukigakure Shinobi, come out and meet your end," he muttered again, spreading his feet apart and settling into a ready fighting stance: one hand up towards the left side of his head, the other in front of him. Waiting, patiently for their attack to begin.

At once, three shinobi to the left sprung out of their ambush point, to Raitora's left, all throwing kunai's at the lone Kumogakure ninja. With a shout, Raitora stepped in that direction, turned and kicked the air, slicing both the kunai's and the shinobi that threw them with a single invisible blade of wind. Raitora was now back in the same stance, their bodies now on the floor, mutilated.

Now he knew once they saw the deaths of three of their own with one attack, they likely would either run away or come at him at once. Luckily for him, they all chose the latter. Good, perhaps they can keep his blood pumping. Twenty shinobi in all against a single guy. This should be fun.

The mayhem begin with a hard punch to the gut and a kick to his neck hard enough to snap it, killing him instantly. An elbow to the gut of another that attacked from behind was then followed by a rapid spin and a chop to the neck to knock him out cold. A swift step to the left made the next guy miss with his sword, and a hard punch to his wrists with enough force to break them made him drop his sword, to which Raitora snatched from his useless hands and skewered him with it. That same sword was used to slice up three more shinobi, then he left the blade in the last shinobi he killed and channeled Lightning chakra to his fists, now crackling with blue electricity. He punched out another guy with ten punches, which only felt like one. He shattered the skull of the next guy beside him with one punch before one lucky shinobi managed to get a hit it, straight to the chin. Raitora slid on the snow as that same Shinobi performed a few handseals, summoning thousands of watery needles from the moisture in the air and sending them all at Raitora. At first, it seemed like quantity did beat quality.

But that was not the case. Raitora stepped out, a vortex of Wind surrounding his body, with bore several stab wounds from the various needles that managed to get through the armor of air. He looked at his body, and then at the remaining shinobi as he clenched his fists together and smiled, "Oh, you guys majorly screwed up," he said as he slowly hovered in the air, aloft by his armor and dashed towards the enemy force. The rest of the battle went by in seconds, with a few sidesteps to dodge hastily aimed swings, him slicing up their bodies with his punches and kicks, which enhanced by wind chakra, equaled being hacked up by a buzzsaw. As they fell one by one, he still kept that smile on his face until he got to the last man. Dispelling the armor as his feet touched the ground, Raitora walked towards the lone shinobi and lifted him up by his shirt, raising his other hand into the air.

"Die, Raiton:Hiraishin," he merely said, generating lightning chakra through his body and into the enemy shinobi, electrocuting him until he finally crumpled at his feet. Raitora looked at the carnage behind him and the last man in front, sighing as he headed his way back to Kumogakure, "A valiant effort to protect your village and her secrets, but it wasn't enough for Kumogakure's Mountain Gale."

If you are applying for Jounin, can you be active enough to benefit your squad? Yes, provided work and babysitting a niece doesn't get in the way.

If you are applying for Jounin, how will you get the best from your squad and how will you train them? By training the genin to work together, each of them can cover each other weaknesses while providing their strengths, allowing for a cohesive fighting force. As such, I would train them for teamwork, to work together flawlessly. Yet keeping individual training as even as possible so when they are alone, they aren't defenseless.

Accepted. Between this, your previous and all the rps I've seen of you, I know you'll be a good jounin.

I'm sorry, I realize you were attempting jounin, however your application was not finished within a reasonable span of time before others applied. you have a few options: the chunin spot is still available, you can wait the long time it may take for more jounin spots to become available, or the best suggestion I have to offer is try konoha or yuki where jonin spots are still available at the moment. Again, my apologies for any trouble this may cause.

RP Sample:

Jin walked back into the dojo his right hand covering his mouth as he yawned while walking in. Taking out his scroll he looked it over finding the spot he had left off last. While reading the scroll Jin couldn’t help but notice another set of genin who were training and from the looks of them one was a taijutsu user and the other…. Jin had to take a double take. Thinking to his self, “was that what I just thought did she just use that stance?”

Jin recognized her stance as that of the premium heart taijutsu style; he smirked to himself as he was also using the same technique to fight. He wondered if she had figured out how to use any techniques more advanced than Jin. Snapping back to the scroll he picked his jutsu out getting ready to start training.

Jin performed a quick set of hand signs and created a clone to train with. The clone formed of solid earth then took the form of Jin who was already standing in position. The clone and Jin stared at each other for a moment before rushing towards one another at full speed their images slightly blurring not yet moving at the level that they cannot be followed but getting closer.

Jin’s arms ready to strike chakra filling them with each step towards his clone. As he reached the clone Jin used his superior speed to launch a quick series of attacks. First launching his fists towards the clones midsection with nearly blinding speed, the chakra within his arms propelling the punches forwards and back faster than normal.

Jin decided to combine his own set of moves with the punches and make it an even deadlier combination. After the last punch struck the clone Jin wasted no time in using a summersault off the clone flipping himself several feet backwards giving him distance4 to avoid any chance the clone would have of counter attacking.

Jin combines this technique with the next move on the scroll. He charges towards the clone again this time focusing chakra into his legs causing him to move much quicker. As he reaches the clone it attempts to counter releasing a flurry of punches towards Jin’s face and neck.

Jin seeing the blows coming was able to use his momentum to spin and propel himself out of the way of the blows. This left him standing on the left side of the clone that was now wide open to attack from his failed attempt to counter. Jin seemed to almost know exactly where to hit the clone as if he could read its mind, though this could be because the two had the same thought process.

Jin reached out with his leg to him it seemed as if it were in slow motion. His leg extended and connected with the clones left kidney causing him to begin leaning towards that side. As soon as he did Jin kicked out with his leg again this time hitting the clone high in the chest. Then almost as if by sheer force of will the clone caught Jin’s leg and held onto so he couldn’t move.

The clone smirked at Jin and began to grip tighter getting ready to attack. The clone attempted to pull Jin backwards and throw off his balance. Jin was able to hop on his one leg forwards and keep his balance.

Jin quickly jumped on his one leg using the force to carry himself into a kick attempting to kick the clone off of his other leg. The clone not wanting to get hit and unable to dodge while holding Jin released his leg. The clone able to dodge the kick easily as it was very poorly executed.

Jin kept his balance standing on one leg still. He opened his hand towards the clone and then gestured for the clone to “come on.” The clone tasking Jin’s invitation charged him feinted a right hook then quickly switched into a left sweeping low kick attempting to hit Jin’s ankle.

Jin jumped over the sweeping kick and countered with a dragon kick of his own, the kick hitting the clone directly in the head. Jin felt his foot connect and let out a loud yell and released a small amount of Bakuton chakra from his leg along with the kick.

“AHHHH!!!”

As the clone felt the foot hit his head it suddenly concaved in then was hit by a surge of Bakuton chakra causing the top half of the rock clone to explode. Shards of rock and rubble flying all over the dojo and hitting several of the other genin who were training there, Jin landed from his attack still on one leg perfectly balanced. He lowered his leg slowly making it look very Bruce lee like and cinematic.

“Man, I must be some kinda bad a**. Guess I should focus a little more next time maybe I won’t make such a mess”

Jin sighed and took his scroll and put it away. Looking around he shrugged his shoulders before sitting down and crossing his legs and closing his eyes. His breathing began to shallow.

As he did this he imagined the chakra network inside his own body. He imagined his chakra flowing through the network stopping at each node. He could see in his mind the Tenketsu points and how each one affected the body.

He had learned the basics from his academy teacher so he had a basic idea on how chakra affected the body. But for the most part he just elaborated on the things he already knew.

If you are applying for Jounin, how will you get the best from your squad and how will you train them?
First I believe that training to see each strength and weakness they have is important. Then perhaps put them in a sitation where they have to use there brains rather than jutsu/brawn. This is the only way to see what they can really do, finally you train/get the best from them by doing one of two things training them in areas they are interested in or you put them in situations where they have bno choice but to give there best or die.

While I appreciate your efforts, I cannot accept you as a chunin when you do not meet the minimum word count requirement. Unfortunately, I'm not only looking for people who meet requirement but exceed it, and you're nearly 150 words under that minimum. So, I apologize, but I won't be accepting you as a chunin on that application. If you choose to re-apply later, please do so by reposting. Again, thanks for you attempt, and I'm sorry I won't be taking you.

Jinei Ryuu Shinigami

Ryuu, you have a very different problem and yet similar. While you did go above and beyond the word count, I had a lot of issues with your application. My preference for higher level shinobi is that their rpers be advanced writers. Unfortunately, I was not particularly impressed. My best suggestion for future reference is not starting every two line paragraph with the same word. In my experience, being an advanced writer is extremely helpful in combat situations as well, and while this individual sample is not particularly flawed for combat, it wouldn't be particularly appropriate in this form in the case of a real fight.

Eighth and Jinei Ryuu: So, while I apologize it may seem cruel, I will keep the chunin position open for the time being. You are welcome to try and reapply if you feel you can do better to impress your Raikage, but in the mean time I would suggest taking a genin position or looking elsewhere. Again, I'm grateful for your time, and apologize if this was not the result either of you were expecting.

If so and im a genin can i be in training to join and if not can i create one when I become chuunin or if i apply and get auto ranked create it then?

What Rank are you applying for?: Chuunin
What do you believe personally is the role of a Shinobi of your desired Rank? To do what he is commanded by his/her supperiors but also know within themselves what is right and wrong to do while on the missions.

RP Sample:
Chuunin = Minimum of 400 words

Karasu had been watching from afar. Since the mission with Zigbon, he had been paying close attention to everyone and their abilities. He had read up on a lot of them but he had nothing on the new girl that was fighting with Zigbon at the moment but from what he was able to tell, she was basically a fire based fighter. He had already figured out that Zigbon was a water based fighter besides the power of his blade. The man stood there within the shadows, wearing his usual outfit. Black Cargo pants with black socks covered by black Ozark Trail dress shoes. A black T-shirt with straps to hold his knives covered his torso. A black leather belt held his pants up and black cloth gloves covered his hands. On his belt, he held a peg mechanism with a wire in it that he used as both a grappling hook and a defensive and offensive weapon. A white mask with a purple lightning shape scar going down the right of it covered his face and with it on, an individual wouldn't be able to see his eyes. His raven like black hair covered the back of his neck and most of the top half of his face though it didn't matter due to the mask. Over his entire body, down to a little past his knees, he wore a black clerical cloak to cover his body. He continued to watch the fight and he knew he needed to get to know her abilities more and who better to push her over the edge than Karasu himself. He knew he could do it without showing much of his own abilities. Finally, the perfect moment came for him when the girl seemed to push herself further, unleashing yet another fury of attacks, clashing with the water dragons. Mist began to cover the area but with the "Mind's eye of the Kagura", Karasu would still be able to see the both of them. Not that it mattered much as the girl continued to push on further, unleashing yet another ferocious fire based attack, sending meteors in Zigbon's way and surrounding herself in fire. Finally, the moment came and without hesitation, the man dissipated into water and scattered throughout the rain and used the large amounts of water on the ground and even the rain itself to hide his presence and with the sound of the meteors going down on Zigbon and the ferocity of the fire surrounding her and the amounts of chakra she was spewing out and the amount of chakra Zigbon was spewing out on the outside, there was noway that they would be able to detect him. As the attack continued on, the scattered amounts of water came together quickly and in a hurry, almost instantaneously as it formed the masked man right behind Natsu. The man wasted no time in activating his peg mechanism and firing off his wire, having it shoot off and wrap around her neck, grasping her within Karasu's clutches. Natsu would most likely be surprised, not knowing anyone else was there in the training field and thus, not foreseeing an attack coming at her from behind. Standing his ground, the man pulled on the wire and swinging her with force, taking her away from her fire and thus, dispersing the fire and causing her to fly off to the left, slamming to the ground, splattering mud all over her and all around where she crashed, thus neutralizing her from making fire around her and also neutralizing her from blowing fire from her body and with the water coming down from the skies, making her situation worse but he didn't stop there as he took her further and sent her flying off to a ruined wall that happened to be nearby from the wreckage that she caused, causing her to crash into it, sending debis flying here and there. dust didn't kick up due to the rain and she was still clearly visible. Once again, the man didn't waste anytime and reached into his clerical cloak and sent a barrage of shuriken in her direction. That wasn't the end of the attack though, throughout the water, electricity was traveling and it was scattering throughout the entire fielt though Karasu was showing no signs of performing it but anyone who knoew him well enough or worked with him long enough would know that he was sending the electricity through his feet that were in the water. Zigbon would be getting struck by it soon as well. Karasu hadn't forgotten about him and was keeping a close eye on him. It was only a matter of MILLIseconds before the electricity took it's effect and began to strike them BOTH down. While this was happening, Karasu slowly pulled out his 40/60, true hard rock, hand forged, high ritter, carbon steel Chokuto blade and was prepared to fight either a long range battle or a close ranged battle as he retracted his wire.

~End of Sample~

(a little auto-s**t in there but I figured because it was a sample and I was trying to be creative throughout this post, I thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal here.)
