Background:
Chikara remembers several things about his life before death. He knows he was wanted. That was because he remembered the thing that happened because he was wanted. He was hanged for crimes of piracy. Consequently, he remembered he was also a pirate while he had been alive. The last thing he remembers, and the worst in his mind, was that he had been guilty. Not of the piracy, but of something worse. He had harmed his best friend with a lie, brought down their family and then his own. He remembered he had wallowed in guilt, and then turned himself in because of it. That was it. When he awoke shortly after, he found a chain attached to his chest, lying under his own rotting corpse. With a disgusted grunt, he had gotten up and began to wander the land, the chain getting shorter quickly. Chikara wasn't sure how much time had passed before a man appeared in front of him in black with a sword, panicking about the length of the chain jutting from Chikara's chest before bonking him on the head. Chikara blanked out and then woke up again in a rundown shack somewhere he didn't recognize, this time, without a chain.
Grumbling, Chikara went investigating, only to find himself suddenly in a fight with people half his age, and he was outnumbered. Having been a pirate, and dead, and having muscle memory felt really odd, but he had it, and beat the children half to death, if that was possible, before walking away. Days passed like this, turning to months and then years and so on as Chikara walked towards a tall building he could vaguely see in the distance. To him, it was like a light house or a marking rock, something to use a guide, and that he did. Although Chikara didn't win every fight he was in, he won enough to give himself a reputation... which only brought on more fights. Eventually, by sheer luck and a life full of fighting, he had managed to work himself into the second district of the Rukongai without even knowing where the hell he was. if he had needed food, he beat the hell out of someone for it or stole it, depending. But in this district, he found the fights more even, if not balanced more against him. In the second district, Chikara lost the majority of his fights. This built more character in Chikara, and more strength, and unbeknownst to him, more reiryoku.
The time came when scouting was to be done by the Seireitei. This happened what must have been at least a decade after Chikara wound up in the second district, gathering information all the while. So when they came into view from his home made atop the taller buildings, Chikara knew it was time to try and move on. He had heard most people do not succeed on their first try, and Chikara never expected to. What he wanted, was to get a gist of their parameters, their limits. If he saw what got in, or what the scouts were capable of, then he could either enter politely, or force his way into success. But there was one flaw in his plan. The first was, he was told scouts rarely showed any of their own prowess, which is why he relied on others trying their chance. But something was odd. No one was attempting to be drafted by the Shinigami. Against his better judgement, Chikara hopped out of his makeshift crow's nest and into their path. The Shinigami planned to go right past him, and did in fact when Chikara spoke up. Asking what was wrong, they turned to face him with annoyed faces. Replying like he thought he should, he demonstrated what he could do, which he figured wasn't much compared to trained soldiers. But having been a pirate, Chikara made sure to try and over prepare. The faces of the Shinigami became shocked as he created a ball of reiryoku the size of a person's head with apparent ease, then caused it to dissipate before picking up several objects that were considered heavy to the normal citizens of the Rukoongai. Impressed, the Shinigami took his name down and then left, telling him they were not scouts for the academy, but currently on duty soldiers. When the scouts came the following month, they found Chikara by asking for him via description if name failed. He was awarded entry into the academy by the scouts and studied hard to pass early.
Chikara did not manage to pass early, instead, he graduated late. That didn't stop him though. Being a practical learner, Chikara quickly escalated through the ranks. As a matter of fact, he escalated so quickly it became alarming to many higher ups, worried they would lose their position to the younger upstart. And lose it they would if he had any say. Chikara planned on driving his way right into the Captain's ranks, getting his own division and having the feel of a crew working with him. In what would be an odd twist of fate, he never even made it to the lieutenant rank. As he was going to seek what he hoped would be his next step in the chain of command, Chikara lost consciousness and missed his appointed time of interview. When he awoke, he was blindfolded, and told he would be trained harshly. If he survived, their would be rewarded greatly. Chikara smiled and told them he would do anything to help him carry the weight of his sins. After what was basically a void in Chikara's life, a time when time seemed not to pass, he awoke again in his quarters. Time had clearly past. People he once knew had not seen him for what they reported was at least half a century. And there was the letter.
The letter instructed him to appear at a specific location at a specific time. The last part of the test. Unwilling to falter now, Chikara pressed on, doing as the letter instructed. When he had fulfilled the conditions, he blacked out again, waking later, sore and sitting in a chair. He was welcomed into the Zero Division as both their newest and by far youngest member.
Classified Records - Combative Information
Basic:
Carried Weapons: Zanpakuto
Fighting Styles:
Zanjutsu
Hakuda
Strength:
Chikara has incredible strength, enough to cause serious damage to structures of any building material, able to demolish concrete, total wood, and punch holes through metal with absolute ease. He requires the strength in order to wield an unwieldy weapon, the massive boat anchor on a chain he swings around as a zanpakuto, rending holes and passing around guards.
Speed:
Chikara possesses incredible amounts of speed, being only above average speed for the Royal, but his weapon creates a lot of drag, slowing him down to average or below average speed, especially when he swings. However, he doesn't often need the speed when attacking due to the shape of his weapon and can let go of the anchor, holding onto the chain to dodge incoming attacks, giving him a very versatile fighting style blended between ranged and melee combat, preferring the latter, but not above abusing the former.
Intelligence: Chikara pays attention to great detail, often determining the best attacks to dodge and what to let hit. However, compared to his peers, his intellect is only average, holding no special prowess in the field.
Stamina: Chikara has excellent stamina used mostly for throwing, returning and just outright using his zanpakuto anchor and chain combination continuously throughout a fight. Needless to say, it can be rather taxing on the body. He can fight for an extremely long time without tiring, and his massive amounts of stamina lead to an immense amount of reiatsu.
Durability: Chikara is very durable in general, able to take a multitude of powerful blows before showing some wear. He shows even more durability against things like rope burns or other forms of irritation as well as illness due to his history at sea.
Advanced:
Spiritual Pressure: Chikara has an absolutely immense amount of spiritual pressure, having trained it and his strength mostly. This is because he compares his reiatsu to the weight of his sins and he must be strong enough to carry it.
Swordsmanship/Accuracy/Other: Chikara has fair zanjutsu skills, preferring to wield an anchor and chain rather than an actual sword. This however, has not dampened his skills in the slightest.

Zanpakuto Sealed Description: None, zanpakuto is kept in a state of constant release.
Shikai: Tsumibukai Anka
Incantation: Feel the weight of your sins, Tsumibukai Anka
Appearance: A long anchor attached to a chain wrapped around Chikara's arm.
Release Appearance:
Abilities:
Techniques:
Shizumu (Sink Down): Chikara swings his anchor overhead, letting it fly as the chain rattles against his hand, the anchor aiming to wrap around the foe and weight them down, the zanpakuto sinking into to the ground where it connects.
Hikisaku (Rend): Chikara throws his anchor at the foe, aiming to get it behind them before tugging backwards on the chain sharply, looking to hook them on the bend of the anchor and drag them across the ground. Once it makes contact with either the target or the ground, Chikara can either pull on the chain and send himself flying at the anchor or drag it back, rending the ground open with his zanpakuto. Opponent's caught by this move often suffer moderate to serious wounds in the back if they aren't durable enough.
Jicho (Dead Weight): Chikara throws his anchor at the ground, the zanpakuto flowing into it smoothly until the end of its chain is reached. Chikara then pulls on the chain roughly, the tip of the anchor coming up beneath the opponent as he tries to hook them by the feet and knock them off balance, the ultimate goal being to drag them back to him on their back or stomach.
Bankai Mugen Zai no Anka (Anchor of Infinite Sin)
Incantation: Repent as your sins drag you to the abyss, Mygen Zai no Anka!
Appearance:
Release Appearance: The Bankai keeps its shape as a normal anchor, only this time set ablaze with an almost demonic fire. Chikara is unaffected by the spiritual flame that emits from his zanpakuto.
Abilities:
Taiho o Kogashi (Scorching Cannon): Every three of the user's posts, Chikara may create a fire ball in the air above and launch it in a direction appointed by holding the anchor at said target, the fireball erupting into a large explosion upon impact.
Techniques:
Tsunami no fukushu(Tsunami Vengeance): Chikara tosses his anchor up in the air, dashing headlong at his foe, aiming to strike them if possible and knock them up into the air before moving past them, yanking on the chain to bring the anchor crashing into his foe at the maximum possible momentum.
Mattaku Hanashi no Iwanai (Tell No Tales): Chikara coats himself in the flames from his anchor, whirling it above his head in long, slow circles for a few moments before dashing at the foe at high speed, appearing above them to put a boot to their chest and force them to the ground, rebounding off the person as he brings the spinning anchor down from the sky onto his foe.
